; This place is popular! Smaller restaurant, constant traffic coming in. We went on a Tuesday evening. There's plenty of street parking or parking in the rear. The queso dip was disappointing. Literally is the cheese you get from movie theater with your nacho cheese. I was hoping for something home-made. The chips were well seasoned though. I had the camarones a la diabla. I eat pretty spicy and this is NO Minnesota-nice spice. I normally eat Thai spice, if you know, you know. This is the kind of spice that builds up as you eat it and this dish was FIRE - I mean literally and figuratively! Taco Tuesdays - Buy a drink and your street tacos are $1.00 each. I say that's a good deal! The staff were incredibly nice and the food came out quick. In my opinion it's well priced. The only thing I didn't like is the upstairs bathroom is right on the dining floor. There's no hallway to the bathroom upstairs. It's literally dining room and bathroom. I wouldn't feel comfortable sitting by the bathroom and having to hear dropping a deuce, ya know? I don't know, but that's just me.

Taco Tuesday, $1.00 tacos! This place is the bomb. La Costa has a Dj come in at 8pm on Tuesday and he tears it up. Billy is my server every Tuesday, great guy and a MARINE VETERAN, which is a plus because I have a lot of respect for the military. Awesome guy, goes out his way to make sure your taken care of. And honestly all the other servers as well. The owners have really done an excellent job with this place. The atmosphere, the food, the music, just great all around. Love this place!

We spent money to wait for lukewarm food.. it took them 25+ minutes to whip up and serve 8 Al Pastor tacos.. No sides.. no drinks.. it just took.. that long. They had another table across from us a party of 3 getting their food and drinks all out of order and nothing looked warm except one person's soup. There was also some person from bite squad that arrived to p/u a full bag of takeout but... unless the kitchen is a one man/woman show without heating lamps I don't understand the cold food aspect.. Pros - Music choice, clean/modern bathrooms downstairs, mood lighting and nice decor.

If no stars was an option would get it came here last night at 9 pm for dollar tacos it was a little packed but not too bad so we were waiting to be seated. There was a group of 3 people ahead of me that were seated and then when the waitress approached us we were told to wait a min and the she came back and told us that they were not seating any more people when there was open tables and that we had to leave it was 9pm and they close at 11pm I felt very unwelcomed and discriminated against mind you I even live in the west side very disappointed would've really enjoyed it but looks like not welcomed

Absolutely amazing food and atmosphere. By far the best Mexican food I've had in my entire life. The owners welcome you into La Costa as if you're family. I have and will continue to recommend La Costa to all of my friends and family. Headed there for Cinco tomorrow! Cheers!

malcriadas. had a friends bday celebration here. good food, good drinks. terrible service. also they accused us of not paying our bill and proceeded to charge my friend after we left. and refused to find the receipts or check the video. do not go here. no integrity whatsoever. and the owner is an !@$!!

I must say after reading ALL the reviews on here as well as other platforms, I was really hesitant on coming to eat here. Arrived around 630pm, there was at least 6 occupied tables, we sat ourselves. We were greeted right away with a smile by whom I believe to have been the Owner/Mgr Judy behind the bar. We got the menus handed to us almost immediately, drinks were served right away, we ordered a Queso Fundido and added the chorizo to it, that was delicious!! Had chips (which were seasoned! To perfection! The size was great for at least 3 people. I ordered the Bistec a la Mexicana, best I've had at any mexican restaurant! Presentation was great, I must admit after seeing the price I was almost put off, but the portions were large, so price was reasonable. Both my husband and I left with our to go boxes full. Waitress/server was pleasant, smiling and looked happy, both Judy and her came over several times to check on us. Will definitely be back again! I am hispanic and felt very welcome here, usually worried I may not like the food or that food may be too "americanized", this was definitely not the case here! To me (born and raised in Texas) this is as Authentic as it gets! Loved it!

Bartender said $4.50 for a bottle of beer. Gave her a $20, she only gave me $15 back in change. Service was slow. And when I came back to my seat after using restroom it was taken. Horrible. Will not go here again.

The food is ok and the place looks nice. But that's it. If you go you need to be ready for poor service and to be robbed. I saw the owner (mexican looking guy) being racist and looking down on hispanic costumers. The service was horrible, and they tried to over charge us. Good thing we kept all the empty bottles on the table. They almost got into a fight with the hispanic customers for the same reason (overcharging).

They have really good salsa and chips. The kids meal cheese quesadilla was good and cheesy and came with orange chunks. I had an Al Pastor Torta that was good and came with seasoned fries that were good also. The tortilla soup was awesome and a huge bowl of it. My husband also had two carnitas tacos with the soup, they were also good. The service was great and everyone was very friendly. Plan to go back and try more things.

2-stars because it's a cool atmopsphere, but they're food isn't anything special. I'm pretty sure it was their $2 tacos that made sick. Ate here a couple time before that and the food was very boring. Wasn't flavorful or authentic to me.

They have karaoke Friday nights! The food was really good. I was a bit put off at first since the waiter implied we got that guac and chips even after we told her no, but at the end I was glad she did because it tasted really good.

This is the best Mexican restaurant I have to been in the cities since moving here in 2017. This place has character and culture, both which I appreciate. Food was great. Drinks were a bit pricey, need to go for happy hours, great deals then. Lots of soccer, can’t complain.

Very good food. I've gone multiple times on taco Tuesday. Sometimes the customer service is lacking. But for the most part, they do a her good job, especially if you go early before it gets busy. The guacamole and chips is amazing.

The staff will not let you take what you don't finish home on taco Tuesday. I waited a very long time during lunch hour and eventually left to Supermercado La Palma who also has dollar tacos and yes, they let you take your food home. Never again La Costa.

On a Saturday night this place was full of lively people and Kareoke. The food was outstanding, I recommend the Tinga (shredded chicken). Pull up, garage style windows allow for an open environment and the drinks are reasonable. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

La Costa is a beautiful restaurant. Moreover, the servers are attentive, accommodating, fast, and friendly! The food is authentic and incredibly tasty! You will leave full and satisfied! The drinks are presented beautifully and they are delicious. Their specialty margaritas are the absolute best I've ever had! The atmosphere is fun and easy going. Live music and karaoke makes LaCosta a great place to be on Friday and Saturday night. Music is great and a wonderful insight into Spanish music. It is truly a great place to bring friends to eat food, drink, and have a great time. I highly recommend! :)

I heard rumors about the owner of this restaurant being racist and looking down on hispanic costumers despite her restaurant having the word mexican on it. i did not believe it until i started to notice weeks after weeks of going here people with certain skin colors get faster and friendlier service. their fb page is a joke. she replies to the hispanic costumer’s complains with laughing emojis like she does not care. how are you going to open a place on cesar chaves and be racist? lol PLEASE dont spend your money on this place that profiles costumers. their $1 tacos are not worth the slow service and discrimination. also their drinks are wayy overpriced.

Such a fun place ! Kid friendly and full bar. Tonight they had a kids karaoke contest with big cash prizes. Amazing food music drinks lots of happy families and a cute show while we ate. There was music lights dancing singing cheering everyone sang along to songs with the kids .. AMAZING date night! Probably top of the list for best date place after the visit we had tonight.

$1 Taco Tuesday special is a steal! The chips are homemade and delicious! The atmosphere is warm and inviting and in the summer they have garage doors that open up to make for the perfect place to sip on one of their margaritas! Amazing staff and family! Definitely go check it out for yourself!

The customer service was TERRIBLE! I do not recommend. They did not seat us at all. We just sat anywhere, had to flag our waiter down for our check. There’s a rule you cannot take your food home. I do not recommend this place at all. This is my second time coming here and it’s bad customer service! Should’ve learned the first time!

The establishment looks very clean and there are adequate modern TVs located everywhere for watching games or fights. They have garage doors that open to the street. $1 Taco Tuesdays are a good value. Sometimes they may add gratuity to your bill. Drinks were a little pricey but they have happy hours every day but Tues Sat and Sun. I did encounter a fruit fly in my beer but thats not unusual for bars that have large doors they open in the summer.

We were seated and ignored for at least 30 minutes which then I had to ask who our server was. Granted it was very busy with $1 taco Tuesday. Drinks and food were delicious! When we received our bill gratuity was already added at 20% I would have liked to decide that myself. I will definitely give them another try though just for the food and drinks!

Food is good, drinks are good, ambient is good and so is service... However..... PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR BILL....I think is a little bit dishonest to add 18% gratuity without mentioning it. This is the second time we go for Taco Tuesday, first time we didn't even looked at the receipt and payed, and then tip on top of it on the credit card receipt. So probably ended up paying like +40% tip, yesterday same thing happened but this time I did noticed the added tip, so only added 2 extra dollars to the tip. We know specials make bills go lower but service still deserves tip as if were a full price meal, so we normally tip more than the standard 20% when happy hours/specials are going on for fairness to waitresses, so feel a little bit robbed when we always try to be fair but the restaurant isn't. I assume most people probably do not even noticed the added service so they get double tips constantly, sneaky....

Employees & managers here are COMPLETELY disrespectful. I personally witnessed another customer who was waiting to get seated get verbally attacked by a waiter girl after we were all waiting to get seated over 15mins. I left and never will I come here again.

Thought it was weird that they made us stand outside for 10-15 minutes in the scorching sun to wait for a table. Once we were called in to sit, we had to wait for another 10-15 minutes before the waiter came to take our order. A dollar per taco on Tuesdays (BUT you have to purchase a drink), bought 7 tacos, 3 drinks, two appetizers, which I thought would total up to no more than $45-$50, total came out to be a little over $60. Turns out they charge 18% gratuity no matter how many people are dining. I normally do 20%, but the service was terrible and I don't like it when restaurants expect a tip and automatically charge. My group only had 3 people. The food was mediocre, I've tasted better at food trucks for cheaper the price. I wouldn't go there again.

Food was pricey but filled the plate. I ordered La Costa Nachos. I couldn't see the bottom of the plate because the food was plentiful. I ordered them with chicken and for once, someone decided to season the chicken. Every place that I've ordered something similar, they seem to forget to season the chicken. Not La Costa, they didn't disappoint and I appreciated it. I hardly made a dent in the nachos so I had to take the rest home. Still tasted great hours later.

I had the pork carnitas and the park was already shredded into little pieces which made it dry and kind of hard to chew. The beans and rice are very standard to any other Mexican restaurants in the cities, it's like there's only one distributor for beans and rice in the cities. Being a Mexican who cooks my own. I have to be really picky about my beans and rice. However I did have a chelada for a drink and it was amazing.

I will give two stars because I have eaten at worse. We arrived on a Saturday night, and it wasn't too busy. We sat at the bar. 1) Ordered a drink and the bartender didn't know how to make it. It is a Mexican themed bar and I asked for an American drink, this one may be on me. Wifey order margarita and there was too much alcohol and mot enough ice of flavor. 2) Ordered two appetizers, one of them being chicken wings. We received a plate with dried wings scattered on a plate. Nothing special about the presentation at all, there was more plate than there was chicken wings. I forgot what the other item was called but I def could have made them better at home. 3) $3 for a cherry coke, plus no free refills. This is not a night club and this doesn't seem in line with anywhere else have eaten. 4) Employee wasn't rude but spent more time on his phone than talking to us. Not trying to get anyone fired so not going to name names. This is a new spot and they did a great job renovating the inside. It would be a great place to hang during the summer on the weekends, but the quality of food is 2/10 and the atmosphere was about the same. Were always routing for small business owners but there is no reason for us to come back. I hope you all have a better experience.

I went for Taco Tuesdays and was disappointed. The steak, shredded chicken, and marinated pork tacos were very dry. I had to smothered it with sauce to flavor it. There are much better options for quality Mexican food elsewhere in Minnesota. Secondly, the service was not great. The waitress seemed very nice, but couldn't handle the workload. We didn't get our complete drink orders until after 30 minutes of sitting. They until we made our order and didn't eat until 50 minutes after sitting. I wanted to like this place, but I can't see myself back. There are plenty of great Mexican food to choose from, this isn't one of them.

Iv bin here twice the first time I came was with my family and it was amazing because the server was super nice offer us chips and she was very nice and was so pleasant we left her a great tip the food was super delicious so I decided to go back but this time just with my husband and my baby we got horrible service the server brought my husband the wrong beer and she also didn’t offer us chips or salsa we waited like ten minutes before anyone came to our table a bit disappointed because I had told my husband great things about this restaurant about the service being a 10 but he was very disappointed the food was also a bit cold .

LaCosta Mexican sports bar was quite a find for us. We were in town to visit with our kids going to UMN. We were looking for a sports bar to watch the NLCS. They turned the game on for us right away. We started with the home made sangria, both the white and red were delicious and refreshing. We had the hand made guacamole with home made tortilla chips for an appetizer. Everyone enjoyed it. We all had different meals, Barbacoa, enchilada, flautas and fajitas. Everything was cooked perfectly and we all enjoyed our meals. Service was fast and friendly.

Jorge was our server and he was very fast, knowledgeable about the food and drinks he made us some margaritas and were amazing.
