We work in the food industry in Wisconsin, and we don't like to wait for food, but I'd camp out the night before if that's what i had to do to have breakfast here, service 10/10, food quality 10/10. Super fantastic food, fun, lively, and hugely popular spot for breakfast. Probably one of the best bloody Mary's you'll find. Better than average coffee. So if you are going for breakfast on a Saturday, try to get there by 9am or so, because they're standing in line by 10am.

Heaven for gluten free eats. All your breakfast classics made gluten free. I ate the waffles two days in a row and it was like being transported back in time to when waffles were breakfast and not a rare treat. Amazing.

I am NOT a morning person by any stretch of the imagination so as a general rule going out to breakfast is rarely my modus operandi, but this morning I found myself awake and with an unusual amount of energy, so I popped into the Hen House for a bite and was extremely pleased. From the moment I was brought to the table, Sierra was an amazing server. She was attentive, but not overly so, my drink order was taken within a literal minute of being sat and despite being busy was cheery and an absolute joy to have as a server. I'm pretty sure I found God at the Hen House, and to anyone reading, God is a Cinnamon Roll. BUT NOT JUST ANY CINNAMON ROLL! The cinnamon rolls at the Hen House. Soft, perfectly baked dough with tantalizing swirls of cinnamon gooeyness, topped with a generous portion of icing... I had never had a cinnamon roll that was as tender and pleasing on the outer layers as it was in the center. Sheer... Perfection! I will return soon, and am very much looking forward to it.

Came here while visiting Minneapolis for a week. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, far past generic friendly customer service. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu. We went in on a Sunday morning while it was very busy and the wait for the food was surprisingly short for how busy they were. I had the cinnamon roll pancakes and it truthfully was the best pancakes I've ever had. My fiancé had one of their eggs Benedict dishes and after trying a bite of that and his potato side you could tell the vegetables and eggs were high quality. It was so good we went back on our last day to have breakfast there again. The food and service was just as good the second time around

I ate most of my meals here while staying in Minneapolis over 4 days. Burgers for dinner were great with local brews on tap. Breakfast menu was varied to meet any diner's preferences and everything always came out hot and delicious. The staff was very attentive and friendly and I thank you all for your hosptality.

The food and service was good. I had the California Benedict it was good, my wife had pancakes, eggs and bacon. The eggs and bacon were cooked properly although the pancakes were a little underwhelming not bad but definitely not blow your mind amazing. Good job hen house.

When being seated by the hostess, she seemed to be the manager, was rude and inconsiderate. Waitress was nice and attentive though. Some employees looked over worked. I would loved to have tried this place but once we got there the line was so long just to check in! I had made an online reservation but they said those don't work for the weekend, oh okay. Food must be really good for as many people that were there! So make sure you make reservations IN ADVANCE, NOT THE SAME DAY and on weekends well good luck! Those were the tips I heard the lady giving people!

I am never disappointed when I come here. Everything is delicious! Drinks, pancakes, chilaquiles, sandwiches, desserts, etc. -- I've tried lots of different things and am always happy. They can get kind of busy, especially around lunchtime when there is a conference or tournament going on downtown. However, 1 or 2 people can usually find a spot at the bar to sit right away. Also, they're very quick with service, which is appreciated for weekday lunches!

We have been here a few times and the food is always consistent and good. I was a bit disappointed with the biscuits and gravy today only because the biscuits aren’t the kind I prefer, I like ones that are more flaky. Their dessert counter is amazing and their caramel rolls are a must try....they have diff flavors other than caramel, my fav is the Nutella.

Fabulous food, fast service. We shared one of their large, soft and tasty cinnamon rolls. An egg, bacon and toast was delivered perfect in just a few minutes. An avocado, egg and bacon breakfast sandwich was delicious, and accompanied by crisp and tasty hash browns. The server was pleasant and attentive.

The rolls oh the rolls. I didn't even get a picture because we just inhaled them. Good food too... quality coffee and kombucha on tap. Only thing is its busy... count on a 15 to 30 min wait but the hostesses handle things like rock stars. Loved this place... went twice in one weekend and everyone was happy both times.

Finally stopped into Hen House through all the construction outside. The restaurant has a ton of energy, it's a little noisier but it's definitely inviting. We had the Cowboy Burger, Chilaquiles, Fat Hen Omelet & the Wholly Guacamole Chicken Sandwich. Everything was delicious, the sandwich was probably the best dish.

Staff is really nice and the place is very clean. The music is chill and not too loud. The diversity of the menu is great and you have a wide range of choices to choose from. I took the bacon burger. The meat was cooked well and the overall burger was very tasty. The price/quantity ratio is great so you're getting full without emptying your pockets. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

What a delightful breakfast. A fun and sunny atmosphere that's perfect for meeting up with friends and family. We grabbed some of their well phrased drinking glasses like "A party without cake is just a meeting". A nearby table had some talkative guests who had a few mimosas and we had a friendly chat all of us together. I think that in other places, this would have been extremely annoying, but there was a such a nice mood here it was as if we should have expected to get to know other people. We'll be back!

I was very disappointed with my dining experience here and hope it was an isolated experience. My mimosa was garnished with a rotten strawberry that the server nor bartender noticed, our food was lukewarm at best, and our coffee and water cups were empty for a very LONG time, 15+ minutes, before we flagged someone to get them refilled. Because the warm food tasted not so great, the server offered to bring me another hot plate and said it would be on the house. This was all fine and not necessary, but then somehow it became free dessert instead but that part was not communicated and became confusing. We didn't ask for anything free or want anything free, this is more along the lines of doing what you say you will. Our server seemed too busy to be attentive which makes me think maybe they were understaffed(?) The service was ok but our server was clearly stressed and short with us. When I mentioned I was disappointed she became annoyed and asked if I wanted to talk to a manager. No, I didn't, I wanted to relay to her it wasn't a great experience instead of tattling to her manager. I'm trying to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt but in a city with hundreds of great restaurant options, seems like there is room for improvement at this one. We won't be coming back.

I loved their cinnamon rolls. You must get one. I had their sausage biscuits and gravy and asked for over easy eggs. The eggs were hard but the rest of the dish was decent. The fruit cup I got was not worth 4.50. It came with 6 pieces of fruit. The cappuccino was meh as well. The waitress was lovely and even gave me a free cinnamon roll for forgetting it the first time around.

For a place called a hens house with chickens plastered all over the wall- you would think they would they would make their own chicken. The chicken and waffles is a couple frozen chicken strips with a bagged coleslaw on top and a mediocre waffle. The drinks were very expensive. We sat near a ledge with some fake plants that looked like the haven’t been dusted underneath of in a long time. Service was fine but everything else left something to be desired.

As with any busy popular diner, if you can muster up the confidence to eat by yourself, do it! You'll get a seat much faster! I was fortunate to get a seat to myself immediately at the bar around lunch time and enjoyed the blueberry banana pancakes. The walnuts and syrup were a perfect compliment to the fluffy texture of their pancakes and the blueberries added an extra fruity and refreshing taste.

They need a better reservation system. Their seating process seems to ignore all reservations. Waitress was nice. Food was meh, nothing fabulous. Prices are too high. Dessert case is delightful and was buy one get one, so a better deal than the food items.

I finally went in to Hen House for breakfast. It was good, my server was friendly. I thought this place is fun, I'll order a cocktail for breakfast, my girlfriend did the same. We got our food, then she got her cocktail. My cocktail never came, after breakfast the waitress said they were out of blueberries for the mojito. I said it's fine, no problem. She asked if I wanted a different cocktail and I said no I'm good. I was disappointed but I knew it wasnt her fault, I was like it's cool no problem. Then she just stopped coming to our table and avoided us like crazy. When she did finally come over she seemed hostile towards us and wouldn't look at me. I said thanks have a good day and I tipped her well. Just would not look at me or say thank you or anything. Turned a fun breakfast into an hostile awkward situation. Probably wont ever go back. It was like she made an error, then took out her frustration on me.

Prices are average for downtown Minneapolis. Decore is filled with choalk boards with witty sayings. Lots of large windows for natural light. Also known for large cinnamon rolls.

The service was atrocious. The food was ok. We waited 30 minutes before even getting a coffee after being seated. Not once did our server check up on us to even ask if we wanted refills on our coffee. This place is overrated.

The breakfast food was good, not great (omelette s, scramblers, etc.) and the coffee was pretty bad. But goodness, those sweet rolls - enormous and delicious. Worth a trip just for those.

The cinnamon roll I had was TO DIE FOR. Like if you come here and do not get a cinnamon roll, you will forever regret it. Probably the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. I had an apple one and my mom had a s'mores one, I tried and loved both! The wait was fairly long on a Saturday morning, but figured since I had heard such good things that it would be worth the wait. It was about 45 minutes. I'm not sure if there is a way to check in before arriving, but if there is I would go that route!

Bright and cheery breakfast spot. Gets very busy on the weekend for breakfast... By 9:30AM there was a line out the door. Our food was good. Didn't blow us away but we left happy. Their rolls look amazing...Next time for sure!!
