Raleigh and the Butcher and the Boar staff made our son's rehearsal dinner PERFECT in every way. The private room is perfect for up to 30 people; very intimate. Food was delicious. Service impeccable. Would highly recommend this venue for special events.

I loved the food! My group of 7 went last night and had a blast. We started with amazing sides and they were all great! I could have had a bunch of sides as a main. Speaking of mains, they were great! The pricing was quite expensive even though we had alcoholic drinks and there was 7 of us, but still was worth it! I would definitely go back if I wanted high quality meat (which we could see being made). The only downfall was how cold it was under the AC. But otherwise a great experience!

We went there for happy hour. I had the combo with brat, beer and a shoot. The brat was good and juicy. The wait was little long for everyone to get their drinks and food. Waiter gave us a free drink at the end for the wait.

I've eaten at dozens of steak houses literally around the world, and I've never had better meat than this place. It's simply incredible. They also specialize in sausage which is made in the basement. Very cool vintage vibe and the staff is top notch each and every time I go.

Had a very nice, tasty meal. We sat at the bar, which is first come service and ordered various menu items in an a la carte style. The duck breast (we got it rare) was cooked perfectly and delicious (though the crepe it was served on top of seemed unnecessary). The boar hot link was very good, but packed a punch and was quite powerful. The steak tartare was just so-so, though the chips it was paired with brought more out in it. The pork rinds were tasty but the portion was huge. I wouldn't order it again with less than three or four people. The truffle mushrooms were very delicious. I would recommend this place. We were pleasantly sated at the end of the meal.

There was no doubt where we wanted to host a dinner for 16 guys celebrating a good friend getting married. Butcher & The Boar was it... The service was second to none with Kim and Rich taking care of all of our needs on the night of. Courtney and Raleigh were also very helpful with the planning of the event!

My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and I think it’s safe to say we were both blown away by Butcher and the Boar! Our reservation was so easy to make through Google, the service at the restaurant was excellent and the food was...well let me tell you about the food. We wanted to try everything on the menu, but that would’ve been a feat. We ended up sampling the sausages and had the smoked beef rib for our entree. Goodness me that was the best beef I have ever eaten to this day. The sauce was a perfect compliment to the richness of the meat. We also had the pistachio creme brûlée for dessert and I can’t say I’ve eaten a dessert as expertly flavored as that. We give our highest compliments to the chef and the culinary team as well as the waitstaff!

Delicious food! We are here for our anniversary. Kinda pricey. My only complaint is the space itself is so small. I hate sitting at those little tables for two where you are only an arms length away from the couple next to you.

Excellent whiskey and beer selection. Cocktails can be a bit spendy, but are great. Some of the finest tasting meats I have ever had. We shared the sausage sampler and beef long rib with brussel sprouts and cornbread on the side. Everything was excellent. Great service!

Our server was an older gentleman with glasses. He was so sweet with a great sense of humor. Excellent service. Never missed a beat either. The food was amazing as always. The peanut butter jalapenos are still my favorite thing ever.

Ate in the back patio area which was a cool spot. The Brat here was very good as well as the Burger. Not the biggest Brussels Sprouts fan but these seemed slightly burnt (maybe that's how they usually are?) They had a great deal for that burger which came with a beer and a shot! Overall: 8.2

The Butcher and the Boar was fantastic! We got two "To Taste" appetizers, the croquettes and the pork rinds. Both were very good and had a great dipping sauce for each! My summer shrub cocktail was perfect. The entrees are HUGE. Be prepared for a lot of food! The staff was great and the atmosphere is really nice. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant.

Consistently excellent! Great flavors brought to the protein of your choice whether it's traditional (the best filet) or slightly exotic (wild boar sausage). Quality up and down the menu at prices more reasonable than we deserve. Outstanding!

Great mains and appetizers... the veggies and sides, though popular, have, IMO, overpowering sauces and/or seasoning, hiding the underlying vegetable flavor. A matter of taste. Definitely worth checking out.

I wouldn't rush back. I know this place is very popular. Having been there, I'm not quite sure why. The food is ok but not good. The atmosphere is quite bad. It is noisy and echoey and not intimate at all. There are definitely places to get a better meal in a much more pleasant atmosphere in Minneapolis.

What an enjoyable dining establishment. The layout is wonderful whether you are in the beer garden, at the bar or having a sit down dinner. Love the decor. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the mixologists prepare an array of drinks for guests. True love was put into each drink. The selection of draft beers was very impressive.

Seriously. If you've ever lived in Minneapolis, or visited Minneapolis, you need to eat here. This place has the best whiskey list in the Twin Cites. The best meat centric dishes anywhere. And I just overheard a vegetarian tell the bartender that she comes there for the side dishes! It's literally a perfect dining experience. ENJOY.

I may be biased but we had a private group, had a room to ourselves in the basement and a family style dinner with open bar. 100% worth every penny. This place was fantastic, the drinks were great, food was amazing. I can't say enough nice things about it. Definitely check it out.

Sausages in particular are astounding! Very soft and full of flavor. Also would recommend their potato pave. The rest of their menu is great but not not mind blowing as one would expect from the price. Definitely a classy place for a date or a business dinner. Can get pretty loud inside though. Their outdoor seating is decent and spread out. Waiters are polite and check on you pretty often. Never ran out of water haha. The side plates came warm (nice touch :D)

There was a group of 10 who purchased the private room at an Auction for Young Life. Planning, setting up and experiencing the evening was incredible. The staff was amazing. We hosted our 10-person wedding reception in one of the private rooms at the Butcher & the Boar. Raleigh, the event coordinator, was a phenomenal hostess, she was always quick to respond to our questions, was flexible when our plans changed and helped us decorate the room to perfection. Our server/bartender Rich was entertaining and attentive to all of our needs. The service we received was well worth what we paid and we would recommend this venue to anyone looking to host an intimate dinner. Thanks again to Raleigh, Rich and the rest of the team for a memorable night!

Only been to the beer garden, but the food and beer selection is great. The burger is really good, and they have a burger, beer, and a bump combo with is a good deal. Beer selection changes weekly it seems, and always a good assortment. The staff is great. We often take our small dog with us to dine in the beer garden and the staff is so great with her, and are super friendly and attentive. Only downside is it isn't closer to our house, otherwise we'd be there more often.

Dined in and had several cocktails in the beer garden. The beer garden menu is limited - similar to a food truck menu. Beer garden menu cannot do substitutions. You have to go inside for the full menu which has many more options. Overall, g food, friendly service - Fun place to hang out.

Do I have to leave one star, because the customer service was beyond horrific. Empty tables on the patio, yet told they couldn't accommodate us and we needed to see the hostess. Talking to management, was met with a RUDE and condescending attitude. I absolutely loved when she told me the patio side was a more expensive menu. I am well aware of the prices on the menu, and completely disappointed in my treatment. Thank you Butcher and Boar for being as deprecating as you were. I will make sure not to visit again, nor spend my drinking and dinner dollars on someplace so judgmental and rude. *after speaking to the Manager, was met with more of the same attitude. Love it!

This place is definitely worth the hype. We started with the bone marrow that was a huge portion, the jam complimented it perfectly with grilled buttery bread. We asked for more bread, it was delicious. Possibly add a side of salt as we both thought that was the only thing missing but liked it a lot anyway. The sausage platter sampler was a nice way to sample the most popular sausages. They were good for sausages. The slaw that came with it was ok, but the pickled veggies were phenomenal. We had the potato pave as a side and it was a perfectly executed side dish. So good.

Amazing. Everything was so excellent. The cocktails were lovely, the bone marrow was especially delicious, the garlic mashed potatoes were great, the duck was beautiful, and the pistachio creme brulee was delicious! I enjoyed the atmosphere as well and our server was very nice.

Fantastic experience in the Beer Garden for our group of 25. Service was top notch, food was excellent and the ambiance was perfect. My guests raved about the variety of food selections and quality all night long, our servers were attentive and accommodating, even creating a special plate for someone in our group with celiac. We were seated in the beer garden, but due to our group size the bar stayed open to the public which created a really fun and energetic atmosphere. The cost to host our event here was reasonable, especially when you consider the quality of the food, service and ambiance. I highly recommend using B&B for your next event.

Best restaurant I have been In Minneapolis. My friend always books the reservation at least a month in advance as place gets really busy. Not a cheap place but all the food is worth it. It has a good vibe for a group event, or a date with some background noise. Will be back.

Hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner here (30 people) and was blown away by everything. The food was incredible. They were able to cater to our vegan/pescatarian guests, along with our guests that had severe food allergies. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable on the dishes. The reservation process was painless and very smooth. Courtney was always available and answered my questions in real time. When I showed up to the venue, Raleigh was on top of her game. I didn't have to take care of a thing. Strongly recommend. 10/10. I will book this venue again.
