This is my favorite spot! We come here for anniversaries, birthdays, brunches, and happy hours. Love that it’s so close to the lake to walk off the inevitable food coma. Food and drinks are great, friendly staff, and there’s always parking either in their lot or super nearby on the street. Definitely recommend!

Came in on a Monday to enjoy happy hour on the rooftop with a group of people to celebrate a birthday and the bartender was less than thrilled. Her body language was off and when she would catch herself she would then correct it. My husband ordered his drinks multiple times and she never brought them. Needless to say we will not be returning to this establishment again. Sad because it is in a really great area and has parking in the back!!

Went there with my girlfriend for our anniversary. Comfortable ambience. Very friendly service. Amazing food! Their tomato basil soup is to die for...!! Can go there just for their soup and bread. Gnocchi was very good, and tiramisu was excellent. Great Italian place uptown for a fun date!!

I was looking for best brunch spots in uptown this morning and this place pulled up along with few others. I was about to head over for some mimosa and egg/toast meal when I remembered as I'm reading through the reviews my first and only experience here last winter. I came looking for some hearty Italian food and ended up with small portion, water down definitely not-Italian sad excuse of food. I ordered couple of apps - which I ate very little of (waitress didn't even bother to ask why most of the items were being left untouched)...i remember I forced down what little I could and I thought maybe I'll take the margarita pizza to go - bc how hard is it to mess up a simple pizza like that! Right? Wrong! I got home and few hours later feeling hungry (since I hadn't eaten really thanks to Amore) tried reheating the pizza only to find the saddest, strangest looking, smelling pizza I'd ever had the displeasure of seeing upclose. It was down right disgusting and a far far cry from an actual pizza never mind a margarita pizza at that!! I was so upset at that point bc i was out over $50 between the dishes I left behind untouched, this $11 pizza and the tip I left... And I have never felt so hungry and out of $$$ at the same before! I rememeberd I called and explained the issue and the guy on the phone was so cold and rude and didn't even offer an apology or refund. I demanded a manager and he just as cold finally offered to refund me the $11. I threw it away and I'm not even sure tbh if I ever got the refund but I know i swore off ever coming back! Thanks to Google reviews for reminding me what a horrible place this is! Saved me another hungry, upsetting, disgusting experience! Amore No More!

For an appetizer, we got the calamari, which was good, it was nice and crispy and they gave you the typical white sauce and marinara sauce to choose from. It was the same calamari you can get a lot of places. They gave us bread before our main meal which is normally something I get excited about, but this bread was plain. It was warm but that didnt make up for the fact that it was nothing special, being served with tasteless parmesan cheese shreds, and plain olive oil. Any simple herb bread and olive oil with garlic or herbs would have made a great improvement. For my main meal I had the tortelacci with veal, pancetta, mushrooms and cream sauce. It was good, but not something I would specifically return to get. It came out very quickly, in less than 10 minutes after we ordered. My husband and I think they serve pre prepared food. We came to this conclusion based on the lasagne he got and the timeliness of the food. His lasagne (which I had a bite of) was luke warm and had no flavor. Overall it seemed like the theme they were going for was a destination restaurant, to have a real taste of Italy. But this isn't achievable with modern pop music playing (why not Italian music?) and mediocre food. As someone who lived in Italy and experienced real Italian food, I went in expecting to get some very delicious food, not necessarily authentic or at the same level as being in Italy, but close. There were very few menu items I was excited to try. Many of them were the typical, spaghetti and meatballs, pesto pasta, nothing unique. Even the desserts were not inticing. I was bummed they had a TV and showed football because they really changed the atmosphere I was expecting, and definitely not something you would see in Italy. Though the host and waitress were friendly, all in all it was a large dissapointment, and I will not be returning.

We sat on the rooftop on a weeknight. The rooftop can be accessed through from the back. Front entrance will be inside the restaurant. It was quiet and cozy. Not exactly in uptown where the loud, rowdy crowd is, but in walking distance if you decided to meet up some friends for drinks afterward. The service was fast and friendly and the food was flavorful and fresh.

I invited several people to Amore for drinks at a bumble event on the rooftop. We got one free drink but we also ordered drinks and foods afterwards. Our waiter was hard to find. I got up from my table three times to order drinks and food from another waiter. When we finally received our food, some of the mussels were empty (no they weren’t in the sauce) and our waiter was no where in sight to order drinks. The final straw was when our 2nd table complained to us and left because the same waiter didn’t come to even bring them their tab or take a second drink order. While the food and drinks were amazing (once they finally arrived). Due to the bad service I won’t be returning and neither will my friends.

I love this place. Their Italian cuisine is to die for. They have a very good selection of foods to try for all types of Italian love. I highly recommend trying any of their veal dishes. Wine select is vast as well. The service is always pleasant. They do have a roof top patio but service is very slow on the roof top and can turn into an hours long visit so I always dine inside.

This was my first time at Amore and I was impressed! We had a group of 9 for Sunday brunch (with a reservation). They had our table set and ready to go (they often don't for some reason). The waiter was very attentive to water/drink refills the entire time. He was knowledgeable about the food when someone in our group with allergies asked about ingredients. I am keto and just didn't feel like a salad but he allowed me to order the frittata with a small spinach salad (with white vinaigrette) as a substitute for the potatoes and toast. Both items were delicious. The french toast looked amazing and the chicken parmigiana sandwich was huge (I snuck a fry and it was delicious). I will definitely return for the delicious food and great service!

My wife and I celebrated our 1st year anniversary on the roof top patio, and it was romantic and amazing. We enjoyed a glass of wine, and our meal was very tasty . The staff was very friendly. After dinner we took a stroll around near by Lake Calhoun. Highly recommended.

We were seated on the rooftop patio quickly and our server had our drink orders shortly thereafter. The server had great knowledge of the menu and helped us each pick a dish we would like. The food was very good, I opted for the Chicken Parmesan and my date had the Gnocchi. 10/10 would recommend, it is a great date spot!

Had a fabulous time celebrating my friend's graduation. The burger however was mediocre at best and fries weren't warm but I didn't want to say anything as our server was pretty busy. Next time I'm going to try something Italian, of course!

This restaurant is a heaven in uptown. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Reservations on a busy night were a breeze. We went with a large group. Family night out. We were seated within one to two minutes of arriving about 20 mins early. Our server was very delightful pleasant and we'll informed person. Food arrived quickly and was warm. Everyone appreciated the variety and taste. Ambiance is casual and booze level is loud but this is over the weekend. Meat is halal and that is a huge plus. This place is a a definite stop over while visiting the twin cities and eating out. Free parking is available in the back. Parking meters on the street.

Usually when I go to new places I look at the menu and have trouble finding something I like. Either I'm not feeling a certain kind of food or the whole menu sticks to a mix of 5 staple ingredients in all of their dishes. Well let me tell you about Amore! I couldn't choose what to get because they all seemed so good! So many different entrees and ingredients! It all seemed so good it was hard to choose! I would recommend this place, especially if you plan on staying for awhile since telhey have an option for bottwmless mimosas. 5 Stars would go again!

We we're downstairs for a proposal/birthday party. Nice, comfortable and cozy spot for private parties. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The food was fantastic! I didnt have any drinks so can't speak to that. But would recommend either for a nice meal let a cozy smaller private party.

My worst experience ever TBH. 1. Front desk guy doesn't care even if you try to call him by raising your hand. (Thrice) 2. Waitress gets frustrated right after i point this out to the front desk guy. 3. Air conditioner doesn't work on the worst climate day. I understand this but other things that happened didn't compensate this. 4. Last but not least. "Flies around tables and food" this is serious issue Never going back here again. I'm expecting a call back explanation for this from the manager. Thank you!

The entire restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere. The food was delicious and the portion sizes seemed a little larger than I had expected, a pleasant surprise. The staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. For the restaurant being full I was expecting the service to be a little slower (because of being busy). The only complaint I have is the description of the cheesecake lead us to believe it was plain, but it did come with a strawberry sauce and blueberries. As others have stated, the parking lot in the back is smaller, so you may have to anticipate a walk. I thought the short walk we had was well worth it.

Great Italian spot near the heart of uptown. Enjoy after a walk around lake Bde Maka Ska and make sure you to save room for dessert! They got all your favorites including a chocolate torte and a mouth watering Tiramisu. Highly recommend the Salmon and Chicken Parmigiani as entrees!

Amore is fun to visit with both family and friends. Their rooftop patio is the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail and appetizers in the summer. They are accommodating of dietary needs and large groups. Make sure you try their zeppole- Italian donuts with caramel and chocolate that are to die for!

Calamari was small but delicious. The herbs sprinkled on amazing ripened tomatoes with perfectly toasted bread. Bruschetta in its purest form. If you love garlic. Mushroom passion is by far the reason why you are coming here. One could only hope as you die this flavor comes to your mouth.

Bottomless mimosas? Try four tiny glasses of orange juice. We came all the way from the southwest metro just for the bottomless mimosa brunch, which turned out to be false advertising because it was far from bottomless. They rushed out checks to us and refused to serve us any longer because they look for any excuse they can to kick you out so you can’t enjoy their “bottomless mimosas”. Our server was rude also. He never checked on how our food was and had a very bad attitude. I will not be ever coming back to Amore and I would advise anyone not to go to the bottomless mimosa brunch unless you want to get ripped off $10.

My wife and I hosted our Friday night rehearsal dinner at Amore Uptown and were very happy with our selection. From the first time we met with their staff they were clear and helpful which made our night run smooth. During the process, my parents worked with them to select the menu for our guests and when were arrived, the food and prepared and presented exactly how we imagined. The space was clean and perfect size for our group of 35 adults. Amore was also a great location and many of our guests enjoyed their rooftop patio when our dinner was finished. We would highly recommend Amore Uptown for future events.

Called and was told they were open until 11pm. I drove all the way from Woodbury to be told they closed early (9:30) because they were slow. But if we had a reservation they would of served us..... seriously....as the staff in the kitchen were even cooking up something. It sure looks like a busy night down here in Minneapolis. I guess I'll be giving my buisness elsewhere.

When the moon hits your eye that's amorehhhhh? Overall this Italian joint is ok, the food is serviceable and happy hour is good but for the price point there are notable issues. Bruschetta without balsamic vinaigrette? Entrées served without parmesan or cracked pepper? And calamari with a rubbery consistency all add up to be a slightly disappointing experience. For the price point there are other Italian restraunts in the area, but if you're looking for a good happy hour with servivale food Amore will scratch that itch.

We were looking for something late evening on the way to our hotel in downtown. Parking was easy, free and behind the building. Warm welcome and were greeted immediately. Our server was phenomenal, attentive and offered delicious specials. The food was amazing, and quickly arrived after we ordered. We were not rushed, and the atmosphere was cozy, and authentic. Plus, the gluten free options were practically endless and you must try the potatoes! I cannot say enough good things about this place. We will definitely be back.

Do not pay attention to the hours on their website as they close in a time they choose to in spite of posted hours. My daughter is in the hospital actively dying so I didn't feel like cooking. & Decided to treat my other daughter to a nice meal. We drove all the way from Woodbury and got there at 9:30 Only to find out that they decided to close early on a Friday night. We explained our situation but they did not care and instead for sarcastic and asked us if we had reservations knowing dam well we did not as we just hold them we drove all the way from Woodbury. They lied to us and told us that the kitchen was closed and that the grill was shut down. We know they were lying because we came in through the back door where we seen a hamburger And other food cooking on the grill. So even though we have enjoyed it in previous visits we will not return after being treated so rudely and being lied to and they didn't even have a drop of sympathy when I tell them my daughter was dying and that my daughter I was with was diabetic and needed to be fed. So they have now lost our family's business for not having heart integrity and Ben pathetically poor liars.

I absolutely love the atmosphere and the food at Amore every time I go. My favorites have been the amore burger and the gnocchi pistachio. Desserts are also TO DIE FOR. They also handled the massive party I atttended with ease and were courteous to every customer. Highly recommend

Amore provides an extraordinary experience. With 3 levels, each of which offering a competely unique and extravagant environment, this is a must go to restaraunt. The rooftop seating area and bar is beautiful for nice summer nights. The main floor has great seating with classic Italian design. The bottom level is essentially a wine cellar that features wine tasting and more dining tables. Overall, the food was excellent, and the service was just as great. This is a great choice of a place to eat with your family or friends for many different occasions. I will 100% be back. Highly recommending Amore!!

My favorite restaurant in Uptown! I go there as much as I can. I’ve been celebrate my birthday a couple of times with them, it’s perfect to have a special dinner with your closest friends!! The staff is really nice and kind, all the time being around you asking if everything is ok! And the food?? Omg the best, big portions and great flavor. Absolutely I recommend it!

AMAZING FOOD is an understatement! Nothing cures a Monday like the $10 pasta deal and half price bottles of wine. Every time I've been here, the food comes out perfect and in appropriate time. I love this place and highly recommend going here to check out their awesome specials. Oh and their brunch is amazing too, topped off with bottomless mimosas for $8!

We highly recommend going here on a Monday, when they have half off any bottle of wine and four or five options for a $10 pasta dish. Excellent main courses, a great recommendation for our bottle of wine, and amazing service by our server, Mark. However, the mussels were recommended by the staff and after eating them we agreed that they were by far the worst mussels we've ever had before (chewy, rubbery, tough and kind of a fishy, almost sour flavor). Great restaurant, just go elsewhere for seafood.

Great rooftop breakfast from Italy. Eggs Benedict with prosciutto/ parmesan baby potatoes with toast =10. Italian sausage skillet comes in a cast iron skillet and was also excellent. I recommend this establishment. Great service.

I'll start with the good: their calamari antipasto was very good. Sadly, that's it. It was weirdly hot inside, not sure if their AC was busted or what, but it was uncomfortable. Service was ok, they didn't ask if we wanted a dessert after bringing us the specific menu, which seems odd, but nothing terrible. The big, huge issue with Amore is that the food quality to price ratio is way off. I initially ordered their rigatoni, which for some reason they were out of, which is an interesting clue for the rest of this review. I ordered then their lasagna. Now, I don't expect them to cook it from scratch for every single order, but damn that thing was lukewarm. I had fridge lasagna before, and that's what you get when you prepare it in advance and reheat it in a microwave. The mozzarella on top was obviously remelted, the inside of the lasagna was almost cold and the whole thing was so dry. I wouldn't mind all of this if, say, I was at Olive garden and a lasagna was 9$. But Amore is asking close to 20$ for a lukewarm plate of disappointment, and that is unacceptable. The rest of the food I had was average at best: their bread is definitely, again, a ready to bake, pop in the oven kind. The parmesan had no flavor at all, barely better than store bought preshaved cellulose infused stuff. Heck, not even their Aperol Spritz was right! Too watery, too much ice in it, and I suspect the ratios were totally off. I might be extra critical, because this is my cousine, and while I don't expect the same flavors I experience in Italy, I had better in the twin cities, for less $$$. By the way, having football on and displaying french art on your wall kinda takes a little bit away from the whole Italian vibe you're going for.

I was here for a dinner date. The food was lovely and the ambiance was intimate. In the summer their rooftop is open. They also have a full bar which is nice. The food is very tasty. The restaurant is clean and the servers are friendly. The bar is downstairs so if you want a more quiet evening, you might opt for the dining room upstairs.

Great neighborhood spot, unlike the uptown crowd - quiet, chill and friendly service. Good is decent - I love going for their daily happy hour from 3-6pm, that includes food and great drink specials - most wine is $6. Great to cozy up in a table or chat with the bartender at the bar.

One of my favorite brunch spots! The menu isn't huge but it's nice and diverse -- I've loved everything I've ordered. The $4 brunch drinks are great. I hosted a bridal shower brunch here a few weeks ago and the staff made the event PERFECT. They were responsive, flexible, accommodating, and even threw in a few extra "treats" for the table and for the bride-to-be! Our server was also so sweet and attentive, even though I know large groups can be stressful (I wish I could remember his name!). Highly recommend!

One of my favorite spots in uptown Minneapolis! The chicken parm is a must-have and they make some of the best Moscow Mules in town. The rooftop is absolutely perfect for happy hour/summer evening drinks. Love love love this place!

Wonderful, romantic restaurant with good food. Call in advance and get the lovers Corner if you're planning a special evening. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and go back again! Especially if you love Italian food. If loud noise or background noise bothers you make sure you make them aware of it and come at an earlier time when they are less busy. Or, you may be disappointed that you were unable to hear the people at your table that you are with.

I went to Amore Uptown for a dinner with my Little Sister that I mentor, because Amore had sponsored a "Palentine's" meal for Big Brothers Big Sisters. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food delicious, plus there were several kid-friendly options available. I had the Pasta Milan, which was creamy and we'll seasoned, and my Little had the most upscale chicken fingers I've ever seen! More importantly, the staff was so kind and attentive. My Little thought at first it might be too fancy and intimidating, but she was soon remarking about how nice everyone was. It was a great night out, plus Amore is a business worth supporting, since they also give back to the community.

If you are looking for an authentic Italian style restaurant, don't come here. My girlfriend and I wanted a nice meal after a long day of walking around Minnehaha Falls, the city was very busy and we found this quaint restaurant in Uptown. At first glance it looks like a nice place to eat, til we discovered that about seven tables weren't bused. We gave them the benefit of the doubt til the waiter said he was busy and hadn't had the time to clean them up; even though three of the staff were out smoking in back when we parked. After a few moments the waiter told us he cleaned up a booth for us. After continuing our date in our sort of clean booth (yeah the table was a little sticky), the waiter came over and asked if I'd like a drink. I said I was a bit tired, so instead of offering some coffee or soda he offered beer and wine instead; everyone knows wine and beer don't wake you up. So after ordering a Roy Rogers and our food, we continued our date. Our food arrived promtply, we ordered the Wild Mushroom Pasta dish and it was delicious In conclusion Ambiance: 4 stars Service: 2 stars Cleanliness: 1 star Food: 4 stars I give 2 stars overall, because the cleanliness plays a huge part in any business. Since you eat with your eyes, seeing that mess the whole evening lowered the count. By the way, they didn't start to bus the tables til we were leaving about an hour later.

Went last week to visit my daughter who lives in uptown about two blocks away from this restaurant. Service was fast, friendly, and food was excellent. Our food was ready before we were even half finished with our drinks! Loved, loved, loved the lasagna! Prices are in line for what you pay in uptown. Rooftop was fabulous on a nice summer night!

A different "Italian" restaurant. I've only sampled a small portion of the menu, however based on what I've seen I know the food won't disappoint. Cozy main floor with a quiet laid back roof-top bar (possibly one of the better kept secretes in Uptown). Highly recommended.

Furthermore, the service went above and beyond expectation - when the bathroom line got backed up, the kitchen staff was quick to offer up their own staff restroom. My fiance and I went here for an engagement celebration. Our waitress, very sweet, gave us a celebratory bottle of champagne (totally unexpected... how sweet?!) The co-owner, Tim, also came over during dinner to check on us and to congratulate us as well. The food here is amazing. Great italian selections. The signature cocktails are also bomb! I have yet to go to their rooftop brunch on the weekends, but I hear they do unlimited mimosas. Definitely an uptown favorite.

We were given a dirty table, so we had to ask for it to get cleaned. Then, when the waitress came to take our order, she didn't spontaneously decide to clean the obvious spilled orange juice from our son. And being lunch time, there was no pasta on the adults menu. Food was only ok.

I can't say enough great things about this place. I went with large party (80+) and the staff, the food, drinks, oh the desserts and the atmosphere was amazing from beginning to end. I don't think the whole party left unsatisfied. We always had our glasses full and very well taken care of. Highly recommend for a large party or a simple date night with your significant other.
