The burgers are varied in their flavors, from a "classic" burger with lettuce/tomato/onion to more unique flavors including pimento cheese or oysters. The Creole also offers a dry-aged beef option that really makes the flavor pop (and you can add an egg to a burger!!!!!). The salt/vinegar fries and apps are second-to-none. You really have to try the appetizers. And, their drinks... their drinks... fantastic bourbon selection, with probably 50-75 on the menu. They also have cool cocktails that are some of the best I've had.

Portabello fries are a must. Cool music and cool vibe. Food was delicious. Nice relaxing atmosphere and the service was lovely

We picked this place on a whim after a very emotional morning sending our little brother off to the Navy. Our waitress put the happy back into our day! She was so friendly, spunky, and answered all our questions. We didn’t even feel rushed to place our orders! For starters, the portobello fries are PHENOMENAL!

Rachel Lindley

I’ve enjoyed the food every time I’ve been here. But they need to talk to whomever does the ordering because they are always out of something...food, specific spirit, etc. Also, you pride yourself on being a southern/creole restaurant but don’t have standard drinks from the area. Lastly, the sweet vermouth (standard in creole cocktails) you use is the cheapest on the market. You could benefit by focusing on quality product. But staff is always friendly. I take the good with the bad at this place :)

They but the urge in burger! I have had the "trust us" 6 times now and it has always been new and delicious. They don't name them but the one with buttered buns was so good I didn't put the burger down until it was gone!!!

John Sullivan

The service was awful we waited 40 minutes for seats and then got placed at a dirty table. Wait staff never came and we had to wave down someone after another 20 minutes. They took another 15 to bring us water and half an hour to bring us the only creole food they had there: beignets. The rest of the menu was not creole at all. We wound up leaving after a total of 2 hours of absolutely a horrendous experience.

Mickey Hunt

Very uniquely relaxing atmosphere. Outstanding service always with a smile and a kind word. Our meal was a delicious delight and definitely deserves 5 *

This place is small, so I recommend getting there early for brunch. I tried the Trust me Quiche and the side of hash brown casserole. We asked the waitress how big the slice of quiche was she did not know. We asked her about another breakfast item, she also didn’t know. She willingly went back to check but still. The quiche ended up being cauliflower and leek. It was a strange texture but the crust was awesome. And the hash brown casserole was delicious. And brunch was a little pricey. Would like to come back and try the burgers because they are known for that.

Luna Laudanum

Absolutely the best place for good old fashioned Louisiana style food. I ordered the Creole Burger, and my partner ordered the boneless ribs. Absolutely delicious. The service was amazing. We had Makenzie as our server, best server. The atmosphere of the restaurant is typical Louisiana style building. Rustic walls, with black floors and ceiling. Very beautiful building, delicious food, and amazing service.

James Perez

This place is so good! Try the new hot chicken. Even the burn your face off sauce isn't so hot. Its perfect.

Courtney McCants

The sysol burger is the best thing on the menu in my opinion

Mike McCann

Corn bread was excellent, shrimp and grits were excellent, pimento cheeseburger was great. I wish I could have tried more dishes and plan to be back.

Blake Drescosky

Love this place bar tender remembers what beer I like Everytime and that actually makes me feel welcome

Got the Trust Us (a daily changing surprise order), turned out to be a phenomenal egg and bacon burger. Beignets were great as well. If you like whiskey there's an extensive list to pore over. Staff was inviting, took great care.

Kristen Kramer

I'm giving it 3 because I only ate the beignets. Those were awesome, but I did wait an hour for a table and 2 beignets. I wasn't really taken care of by the staff. I think there was something going on with being down a staff person in the kitchen, because the food took a long time, the servers barely saw our table, and we couldn't get a check. I decided not to eat here because I was hungry and didn't want to wait longer on the food. I'd come back and try it again being that I'm from Louisiana, but hopefully better service.

Robert Ufer

Get the "trust us" special... Trust me, it's great. Also the Cajun options are fantastic

Aru S

Recommend by a local Lansing friend, I tried this joint. I had the Creole Burger. Yumm!! That aged meat patty with fried shrimps tastes heaven to me. Strongly recommend this place.

Genevieve Scott

I went here on a first date recently and was not disappointed! Personally, I'm not a fan of creole cuisine, but I was pleasantly surprised at the selection of food. We started off with the goat cheese truffles. These were just ok. The taste wasn't what I was expecting, and eating six cheese balls between two people can fill you up fast. Next up was the gumbo, which was absolutely amazing! I could have eaten just that all night and been perfectly content.

Jason Marentette

Love the burgers! Atmosphere is great. Some creative cocktails and great whiskey selection. Try the trust us drink or burger

Michael Church

Great choice for a top-quality burger. Over several visits I have sampled several of the selections and they have all been stand-out tasty. The ambience is unchanged from before the format change. Also, they have a Sunday brunch that's a …

Emily Valentine

What a meh experience! The hot chicken salad consisted of mixed greens, shredded cheddar cheese, tomatoes and some overdone fried chicken pieces that were neither hot in temperature or spice level. I’ve had more exotic salads at Wendy’s. My dining partner had the hot chicken sandwich and it was equally blah and borderline burnt. The cornbread with smoked honey butter was very good but we were super bummed about everything else. Service was decent.

Willow

The food was delicious and the staff very sweet. I loved the urban decorations..only downside was the service was an little slow even tho it wasn't very full...

Aaron Staley

I have been coming to this place for at least two years and the TRUST US BURGERS IS THE BEST

M Mcmullen

With a great menu, even better prices. This place is both affordable and serving some amazing burgers. And the beer selection is top notch too.

camille marie

Delicious Impossible burger! Service was great too!

Jerry Cupples

First time visit and I went with the "trust us" options for both food and drink. Definitely will recommend! The hostess was very nice and was knowledgeable about what she was serving. Will be going back!

Nicholas Humphrey

Trust Us burger was just a black and blue burger, way overcooked, my gf's burger was burnt with burnt bacon and a burnt bun. Grilled cheese was good and the server was excellent. Do not recommend.

Phil DeVries

Great burger, great service, great beer

N L

Great atmosphere! Food was amazing!

Andrea Richard

Best brunch ever. The fried chicken biscuit is life! Love the french press coffee and atmosphere as well.

Julie Nye

So good! We had the portobello fries and creole burger. We didn't wait at all on a Monday night and our waiter was amazing. We will definitely be back.

Phil Yu

Extravagant prices but was cooked with heart. Got the salmon dip, cornbread, Roasted Duck, short rib, and some beers. Everything was delicious but maybe too small of a portion for the price. Will come back when I earn more!

Jeff Placer

They always do a great job here. The crepes are always great as is the coffee. Would love to see more places like this around town.

Pat Ingersoll

Pleasant. You should always try the menu item called "trust us."

Ian Belt

The food and drinks here are amazing and I love the atmosphere. Definitely coming back!

Les Hayden

Went with an office group. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Outstanding server

Christian Henry

Small place with big flavors. Great drink selection but overall a bit pricey on a college budget. The shrimp cakes were to delicious.

Tina Zapata

To be honest I am giving this one star because the waitstaff was friendly and I can't give a review with a lower score. I was really expecting a flavorful quality burger. What my son got was a burger with bacon so burnt it was not recognizable. He took a few bites and said forget it. My burger was better but the cheap bun immediately fell apart. I ended up splitting my meal with him. The burgers were so overpriced. It was a total disappointment. McDonald's would have been better.

Camara Lewis

I miss the old menu but they've done a nice job mixing in more casual options with the more traditional creole flavor. Can't go wrong with their burgers or any number of specialty drinks they offer. Still love the vibe and is a go to for me and friends.

Debra Holton

Awesome food and a great wine list.

Victoria Caragay

Good food in a nice, walkable shopping area. We got the lunch special for $10 per person, which included a basic cheeseburger and fries, a pop, and a beignet (larger than I'd expected!). I was overall satisfied with the service and the food. I look forward to going back again to try the rest of their menu!

Lower Michigan

Interesting menu and good food. I want to try the "trust us" order at some point.

CasSandra Curtis

The food was outstanding and their service is just as outstanding

Sudipta Nayak

We went here for Sunday brunch on a sunny day and decided to sit outside. For drinks we started with Mimosas and Cajun lemonade. The mimosas were the best I've ever had and was refreshing. For food, we ordered a Breakfast bowl and a Trust me quiche with a Side of potato casserole and cheddar grits. I specially liked the casserole and the bowl. The service was friendly but a tad bit slow. But we weren't complaining about that since we very looking for a lazy brunch anyways. Overall, I would definitely come back and try their Lunch menu and their glorious mimosas.

TurkNPapa

Pretty good drinks, fair prices for lansing, and great food. Do the trust us burger. Worth the risk.

Liz

We went for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. It was delicious! Both the breakfast bowl and benedict were awesome

Christa Cassis

We drove through town and stopped here. I ordered their salmon Benedict which was delicious, unfortunately it came with no sides. A bit disappointing but it was delicious. My friend ordered their brunch burger and the cheesy potatoes casserole side. She was disappointed with the side, veryyyy bland. I tried it and have to agree. I also ordered coffee and apparently it's a whole pot of coffee you pay for. When I asked for cream she brought me whipping cream. I don't think they had half & half. Very weird if I have to order A WHOLE POT of coffee to not get half & half. Besides all this the service wasn't friendly and we didn't get checked on once. We had to stop the waitresses for what we needed. Not terrible, not great.

Phil Wernette

Having lived in Texas for years and visiting New Orleans frequently, I can say that their food is on par with some of the best Creole good I have ever had. The Creole burger is absolutely phenomenal! Other people I was with had the shrimp and grits and the cornbread, all of which they were completely raving about. Very highly recommend!

randy khol

Beautiful. A massive wiskey and wine menu. And the food and atmosphere were fantastic. I ordered a "suprise" burger and it was excellent as well. The cooks are a good as the servers.

Will Cantrell

Can't say a bad thing about this spot. Great food and ambiance. We enjoyed the portabella fries and bugers we amazing. We are already planning on what to try when we return. We waited for a while on a Saturday night but a place of this caliber warrants some time to get to know old town Lansing!

Kacy Nash

Omg DELICIOUS food! Fantastic atompsphere and wonderful service!

Cynthia Sanders

Went early so we were seated right away. Place is smaller and had good atmosphere. It was a comfortable place to dine and chat. I tried shrimp and grits which was good. I really want to go back and try a burger. Prices were what I expected for this kind of restaurant. Not expensive but not cheap. The Creole is small and cozy, with wonderful Queen Anne chairs at the tables. They have transitioned into also offering gourmet hamburgers, but on this evening we stayed with the traditional Cajun fare. I had the shrimp and grits, featuring a generous helping if shrimp with the best grits I've tasted outside the South. The sauce was incredible.

Pete Zamora

Great food, great service! Highly recommend!

alan ostrovski

Kinda expensive but great food and atmosphere. Worth it for a special occasion.

Rebecca-Lynn Douglas

Had brunch there twice. The food is really good, but a bit more than I can generally afford, especially for the portions. My greatest frustration was splashing out for the mimosas, and getting the whole bottle of champagne. The bottle was brought to the table and the waitress opened it in front of my friend and me, and then proceeded to empty it into our glasses. At this point we each had a full glass of champagne and a pitcher of orange juice and the need to defy the laws of physics in order to mix ourselves mimosas. I attempted it, and the orange juice caused the champagne to fizz and it went absolutely everywhere. After cleaning mimosa off myself and the table I was left with less than inch of mimosa. I tried explaining to the waitress what happened but she was unapologetic and said there was nothing that could be done. I’ve not been back since, but I could be persuaded to try again, perhaps for a burger rather than a brunch.

scott comerford

Delicious and the prices were way better than i expected

Jay Hawreluk

Great food and friendly service at a reasonable price!

Judy Goodman

The service was wonderful. The food was incredible and the mimosas were a nice option. The room was a little small for the tables, but the food was so amazing that we didn't care about the snug seating. Highly recommended.

C.

The Jambalaya was decent, spicy. The flavor was good, don’t get me wrong but the only two ingredients I could make out were sausage and rice. It would’ve been nice to have a more diverse dish..

Brandon Walker

Any place with food that good is worth visiting, but put that food in such a cool historical building, I wish I could give 6 stars.

Erin Linscott

Great atmosphere. Amazing coffee and desserts. Wonderful breakfast too. And the shopping in old Town is an added bonus.

Zed Reviere

Very cute old bar on historic street with a lot of charm. The shrimp cakes were better than I would've imagined and def the highlight. They were firm and meaty, and the spicy aioli was the perfect compliment. They were out of the item I wanted to order, but the hot chicken sandwich was a good back backup. Solid casual place with good food and extensive bourbon list.

Shirley Kent

Fantastic food and service!

Nick Garlinghouse

Creole is a cool spot in Old Town. They have one of the best whiskey selections in Lansing and even have a dram club that gets you discounts and specials on whiskey drinks. Their food is good too. They have some Cajun/Creole options, like jambalaya, shrimp and grits, begniegs, etc and good burgers and sandwiches. The bartenders and servers are friendly too.

Stephanie Aguilar-Smith

If I eat another pimento cheeseburger it would border on devotion. I LOVE this place’s PIMENTO cheeseburger. I love it so much; it’s worth eating the first bite with your eyes closed. And, the fries are hella yummy. Also, I recently tried their veggie burger and was surprised my whole incredibly delicious it was. Highly recommend.

Serenity Sandberry

Food is delicious! Their pimento cheeseburger is like nothing I've tasted before! Two thumbs up, would definitely go back again!

Lialye

Duck was delicious but too small

Geoff Bendall

Small yet comfortable atmosphere. Bar seating is available too. Burgers and jambalaya were well prepared and delicious. Pimento cheese and crackers were great. Nice selection of craft beers. Waitress very helpful and fun.

Johnathon

I ordered the "Trust Us" which is basically playing roulette with a menu. They prepare a dish and don't tell you what it is. They do ask about allergies before they put in the order, just to be sure you're safe to eat it. I ordered a beer …

Charles Whitby

Shrimp Cakes and Shrimp and Grits were amazing! The flavor was savory in both and definitely had the genuine Cajun seasoning.

Kaila Soto

Delicious food. If you sit outside know that would wont have a server and will have to go inside to order however the bartender that night was an absolute rockstar.

Cory Keith

Amazing food, atmosphere, staff and even the music they chose was fantastic. Shrimp & grits were perfect.

Todd Kauffman

Great restaurant and atmosphere! Cornbread is killer and everything else we have ate here has been great!

MiMi DM

First time at this place. I really liked everything about it. My sister and I each ordered a different burger and split, the Cauliflower burger was awesome and the Impossible burger the only reason I gave 4 stars is the burger toppings wimpy. The slice of tomato was paper thin, no greens...one was supposed to have arugula however it didn't make the plate. Excellent service!

Chris Fennell

This place was great. The food was terrific and the service was even better. My wife and I really enjoyed our time there and it definitely will be one of our regular spots. I always try a classic burger at a burger place and it did not disappoint. The meat was properly cooked with a little pink which was perfect.

Ben DeRidder

I had the beef short ribs and was very happy with my choice. The Brussels sprouts and fried green tomatoes were also top notch.

Seydi Sarr

Awesome staff, succulent beignets, rooibos tiramisu tea is a excellent treat for aficionados✌

Darryl Daugherty

Nothing Creole about the food here. Employees seem to be unhappy and thus not very friendly in response to questions i had. Depressing place. My server seemed to know better than to ask how my food was although i displayed no signs of dissatisfaction during the experience .
