I have been going to Reno's East for trivia on Wednesdays for several months now. Chris, the guy that does the trivia is great. If it weren't for him I definitely would not keep coming back. The service is consistently terrible, I have a new waitress every week who always has a new excuse as to why she's overwhelmed, so I have to blame the management. They must encourage an environment of extreme turnover rates. The beer is wildly overpriced, you'll find yourself paying twice as much for a craft beer as you would at most places around town. The food is also very average bar food, not terrible but certainly nothing special. Unless you want to play trivia on Wednesdays, I would never recommend Reno's.

TERRIBLE service- asking for a drink, or a menu, or really anything, is basically the same as spitting in the bartender's face, as far as they're concerned. It's like they CAN'T be bothered. The food used to be DECENT, now it totally sucks too. I used to go there as a last resort, not expecting much, but now after tonight I'm not even going to do that. Avoid this place, your $$ will be better wasted pretty much anywhere else.

I've heard a lot about Reno's so I was excited to go. The food was good and the margaritas were strong. The only thing we didn't care for was the staff. It felt like they forgot about us and it was two hours before we finally went up to the bar to pay for our dinner. There was a rather large party inside, but there were more than enough wait staff walking around to be that slow. I will give it a go one more time and blame it on the party.

Overall, the place has amazing potential. They can boast of 100 draft beers on tap. Their selection is constantly changing so you always have the opportunity for something new. There are plenty of activities to keep you occupied. Several dart boards, 2 pool tables, a couple golf arcades, a juke box, keno, and walls covered in TVs. There are 3 separate bars to order from, including a patio with garage doors that close to make it comfortable for dining even in the winter. The one and only GLARING problem is that the STAFF is so HORRIBLY trained. If you are fortunate enough to get an attentive waitress/ bartender then you are the lucky few. EVERY SINGLE TIME I have been there, I have had to wait ages for service. It doesn't matter if you sit at a table or sit at a bar. I had told one server that I was going to order food and it took 25 minutes for her to come back to take our orders when we were 1 out of maybe 5 tables in the whole place. Don't even get me started on the time I payed cash for a beer before the bartender poured it. Never making that mistake again. She never brought me my beer. She took my $5 and disappeared for almost half an hour. I had to go hunt down a manager to pour me the drink I had already paid for. The staff is lazy and would rather chit chat with friends then be attentive to their guests. SO....if you aren't in a hurry, and you like hunting down a server, then this is a good place to try a new beer.

Food here is very good. On multiple occasions we have brought large crowds of friends for the venue, which appears to be a challenge for the servers who can take quite a while to come and ask you for your order or even do not communicate when the kitchen has run out of things or that there are things missing on the order when it is brought out. This lack of communication and delays in ordering makes for a very frustrating experience and is not favorable for wanting to return. I want to feel valued while I am there not like I am an annoyance to the service staff.

Love the Impossible burger!! As a lifelong red meat LOVER, there is no discernable difference. I will eat at Reno's far more often for that reason alone. The rating is in higher only because we find that the service is inconsistent from visit to visit. Also because there is rarely a host or any sign indicating whether or not you should seat yourself.

The food is what you would expect from bar food. Prices are in line with other bars. The atmosphere is great, especially in the front indoor/outdoor area. Service is always slow. Took 40 minutes to get main dishes as usual. If the speed and service improved, this would be a 5 Star bar.

Typical bar food with decent service. It’s just your typical bar, with not a whole lot new. We were visiting from out of town, but very turned off by the smoking that is allowed in there. That is personal preference, however. Otherwise, it’s good and there is nothing to complain about :).

This place is a favorite of ours on an outdoor eating kind of night. Live music starts around 630 on weeknights. Free popcorn while you wait for chow. Indoor , outdoor or "garage style" fining.

Decent food, it came out fast and hot! That being said, the atmosphere was ruined by the staff. There were, at any time during our meal, at least 4 staff members congregating nearby at the bar, loudly talking. We were the only ones sat in the bar area, so it was pretty distracting. It seemed like the place was being run by 18 year olds.

We got the margherita pizza, boom boom shrimp and Parmesan fries. The boom boom shrimp was fantastic, but the other two dishes were ok. The fries were overly saturated with something to where I actually had to stop eating them, and I’m not a person to pass on fries, let alone share them. Our service was poor, too, in regards to our waitress. She was hard to get to come to our table so we could get our bill, and if I hadn’t flagged her down, I think we could have easily waited another 20 minutes for her to give us our bill, as I had to wait 10 to get her attention. The other two people we interacted with actually asked us how the food was but our main waitress couldn’t have cared less. Unfortunately, I don’t see myself going back to this location.

It's a nice enough place inside, but it took us 45-50 minutes to get food, and when we got it, none of our substitutions or upgrades were there. Both mine and my friend's wings were nearly lukewarm by the time we got them. Our drinks were infrequently refilled as well. I don't know that I would go back, given how many other amazing bars there are around.

Wow was I amazed at the transformation of this place. 15 years ago I was present at this location for my 21st Birthday surprised I even remember this was the place. The place has been completely revamped, nice sports bar style seating with a large mixed burger and bar food menu. Good option to catch the MSU games or just a quick bite after a round of golf.

We love the food but the service is disappointing every time. I waited almost 30 minutes to pay my bill yesterday and it wasn't even with my own waitress. Kids love the popcorn, pizza, and chicken tenders. Menu has large variety and many beers on tap. Just need better service!

The environment is good, especially when you can sit on the patio. The service is bad. When asking about any specials, the waitress said no. I ordred and after she left, looked through all the paperwork on the table to see they had a all day special on multiple drinks and food, not to mention a month long special too. Reno's is always overpriced with poor customer service. Go in a pinch, choose another place if you have the chance.

Took my son for the 1st time to watch the Mich Basketball game. The food was cold, and it took about 45 mins to get to our table. The service was very poor. They never came back to refill our drinks. I had to go to the bar to get my bill. Will not return.

shuttle to the state games is easy and helpful. tap beer selection is awesome. Dantonio & Izzo shows are held here but limited space in that room. the good thing is you can still go to bar during them and not be shut out by the crowd. parking lot is not setup as the safest, be careful with belongings in the car.

Definitely the worst location out of them all. Called to do a pick up order for dinner they told us 20 minutes. We showed up about 30/35 mins later and they hadn’t even began to cook it yet. Ended up waiting another 30 minutes for our food. Then to top it off we get home and while my bf is eating his food pulls the longest black hair out of his sandwich that he noticed after he started eating!! That’s absolutely disgusting and inexcusable.

Came here in the morning before the Ohio state msu game and the service was terrible. 13 of us in our group and the whole table was out of drinks for over a half hour and when she finally brought some out it was 1 at a time. Spent 3 hours here before the bus and only got 2 beers the whole time.

Went there on Saturday for a Michigan state football game and had a great time. It's a huge space with lots of seating. We ended up on a small table in the patio area with garage doors. There are tvs everywhere you look so you couldn't miss any of the games. They run a bus service for home Michigan state games which worked out great it's a big school bus that drops you off at the msu auditorium. Food was good but kinda pricey. My friend also got the wrong order and when the place got busy our service was definitely affected. I had fun and would go again.

I've been coming here for a while and the service never really seems to impress me. However I can see that it stems from upper management. This can be easily fixed with a little guidance and a sense of appreciation for this great atmosphere and location. I get that if it's not broke, why fix it and I'm sure the money is right, but why not make Renos East fantastic. This place could thrive yet owners seems to be content with meritocracy. To each their own I guess... just unfortunate. Also, a deep clean could go a long way.. good luck this summer! PS. Fix the leak in the mens room please...its been like 3 years now

Came here and forced to leave a bad review last time. Just stopped in for a beer and a second chance. Not only did it take forever to get a beer and its empty but the stench is horrible smells terminally unsanitary and just plain grosses me out! Save a fee bucks on TVs and buy some bleach!

Been here twice. Each time the wait to get served and to get food has been upwards of a half hour plus. The place isn't bad with the atmosphere, just terrible service. I just received my "burnt ends" I ordered 40 minutes ago. Not burnt ends... microwaved concoction. Very disappointed. Update... waiting for my check for 30 minutes with empty glasses.

Great bar to go to before a tailgate. Good food and the service is excellent. All the wait staff is super friendly. Free popcorn and good place to cater a party as well. Plenty of seating. Bathrooms here are very clean and the bathrooms have been remodeled. Not a bad place to play pool and other games inckuding pool.

Worst service I’ve ever had. Had to walk up to the bar to ask for a server who didn’t arrive to our table until another 10 minutes. We put our food order in right away and it took over an hour to get our food. The order was wrong, one plate got sent back to the kitchen for being cold, and we never got drink refills. This was at 10am on the day of a home MSU game, so I get that they were busy, but even the tables next to us started cheering when their food finally arrived. I’m floored at how bad our experience was. We will not be back.

Waited over 20 minutes to be greeted by a staff member. Once we finally were greeted it was by another waitress who took pity on us and got our drinks and popcorn for us. Another 10 goes by and our waitress finally makes an appearance. After she took our order we didn't see her for another 25, and our food wasn't out for 40. It wasn't even busy. The Reuben I had was tasty but if you're expecting fast and friendly service go elsewhere.

This restaurant now serves the vegan Impossible Burger and they cooked it so wonderfully. This was easily one of the best vegan burgers I’ve ever had and i still think about it. Highly recommend for other vegetarians or vegans or people who just want to have an amazing healthy burger that tastes like a regular burger!!

The hostess was very rude. She said that the football coach was doing his shoe. I had A handicapped permit. I was parking in and was told to move. My husband had surgery on his knee.. She came out and told us to move. We did. The service was very slow. I loved the food. The owner did cone over and apologize. I do not know if I will go there again.

Reno’s east is under some terrible management, every time we have come here we have had a bad experience and last night we tried it again. To start things off - all we ordered was a five way chili & cheese fries to go. So we call in to order and whoever was on the phone, said it would be ready in 15 minutes So we head there and we waited 20 minutes instead of 15, the bar tender kept telling us the food was almost ready and kept telling us for 40 MINUTES. yet she didn’t even bother to check on the food and decided to talk to her co workers and pour drinks for them instead. After waiting for 45 minutes and we still haven’t gotten our food, we ask for a refund because we were obviously irritated, IT TOOK 10 MINUTES JUST TO GET A FREAKING MANAGER. and when she finally came up, we expressed our anger and she sat here giving us attitude the whole time and THEN she blamed the bartender, and yeah it might’ve been her fault but I worked as a waitress and it’s pretty indecent to blame your service on a specific employee and NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT A LAZY BARTENDER JUST TALKING TO HER CO WORKERS THE WHOLE TIME. extremely unprofessional, don’t go unless you’re going to drink or if you wanna wait 50+ minutes for your food.

Service here has taken a nose dive. They used to be a place I'd love to have a night out on the town at. Now you can wait 20 minutes with an empty mug and still not have any waitress ask you if you'd like another and then when you get the bill be prepared to pay more then you should for a draft beer. Granted the regulars sure seem to get quick service. Maybe you should sit next to them if you'd actually like to get a beverage before you walk out disappointed.

Last time I went, which was this past Sunday on the 16th. The woman who was at the bar had a bad attitude. I tipped her than she completely blew me off with her hand gesture I’m such a rude way. Who does that? Before that time a girl named ALICIA that originally works at Reno West was great. I wished she worked at Reno East but she’s not from East Lansing so I understand cause she was filling in that day on the 8th. Besides that, rest of the staff was practically rude & was socially bias unless I was an elderly white male with money.I wouldn’t go to Reno East again and I live much closer there than Reno West. I’d much rather go to West Lansing out of distance and get better service, kinda sucks you know?!

Adjacent table was a mess of popcorn, and was not taken care of during our 2 hr. Wait staff took forever to even put in our order, and it wasn't that busy. Very neglected. Once order was in, food came out and tasted good. Above average pricing and very poor service, will not be coming back.

Pricey, poor service. We were overcharged and waitress argued. Done paying $12 for a not so good burger. There are other places to meet up for lunch.
