Been there several times and have yet to have a positive experience. Have tried soups, sandwiches, salads, and pasta dishes and everytime have been left wanting. Prices are too high, service is average at best, and food is sub par, especially at the price points they offer it at.

We had a surprise going away party at Red Ox tonight and I cannot say enough positive things about my experience! From the first phone call making the reservation a few weeks ago until tonight the staff has been absolutely amazing! Banned because I was belligerent drunk once three years ago at 22. I’m 25. Nothing broken, no one injured, I was just a young dumb adult. Can’t drink here anymore. Staff was amazing but 1 star because the owner is whack, and I’m petty. I won’t lie, I enjoy my times here. But, again I’m being petty.

We were seated promptly because we arrived at 5:30. Our server arrived to take a drink order right away, and then came back and took our order. Once we received our order the server never came back, I ask someone else if they could please get me something they told me they weren't in for my server. 15 minutes later I still didn't have it we never got our Waters refilled. We normally really like to eat there but it'll be a while before we go back.

I used to go to OU and my rec center staff would always talk about this place. But I think it's the worst bar and grill I've ever went to... My mom and I got some loaded fries which was cold with clumpy cheez whiz and bacon bits. Both my drinks cost way too much to not taste like alcohol. I thought I would play it safe and get the battered fish and chip, but that was a disaster. I told my mom don't get the ribs since it was our first time, but she did and that was horrible too.... Never would I ever go here again.

I recently came here for the first time in about a year. It's a consistently busy and happening place, a fun but not too intense atmosphere. A favorite for the OU crowd, probably more so for staff and faculty, especially during lunch. The food is good and I was happy to see some vegan options, although just a few. More than most! Good draft beer selection but a wee pricey depending on what you get.

Food was good atmosphere and noise level too loud to carry on a conversation. 1 group of 10 people were so obnoxious and load, we could not even hear our waitress speak. This went on for more than an hour with no effort from a manager to correct.

My husband and I come here a lot, since we live in an apartment complex near by. We've always received amazing service, however, we definitely have a favorite waitress. We always ask if Amanda is there. She's always so kind and courteous, especially regarding our toddler. The food is always perfectly cooked and the drinks are amazing.

Edit: yes I have the right location. Walton n squirrel. First you deny my business, then you treat me like I don't know how to locate a place? Im a level 6 Google Vuide. I know how to find a place on the map. Went at 10pm with my 17 year old son to catch the end of the game and grab a bite and they told us at the door he had to be 21. We said they were just gonna eat and watch the game. The lady said the kitchen was closing. This was a Thursday night. They weren't busy at all, but that should be even more reason to welcome paying customers.

I'll preface this by saying I'm typically very forgiving with my grading. This was disappointing. I ordered tacos, and a side of mac and cheese. The mac and cheese had no flavor whatsoever. The tacos were already soggy when I got them, the meat hadn't been drained and was dripping everywhere. Opinions from others at my table were that the French onion soup was mediocre; the chili was average/good; the egg cheeseburger was dry and had no flavor, it wasn't cooked how they wanted. Honestly, we agreed the best thing we had was the fries, and the breadsticks with cream cheese. I would never recommend coming here. I would probably have given it fewer stars, but there was no wait, the service wasn't bad, and the bathroom was clean. Unfortunately the food (you know, the most important part of a restaurant) just wasn't good. Haha

Not the greatest of anything here in my opinion. Food is subpar, staff are friendly but male bartenders may flirt with your spouse a little too much. Cleanliness is way below my standards and therefore will not be ordering food from here anymore and since my last visit at the bar... will not be returning for even a pop or two.

Came here on a Saturday around 6pm and was not impressed at all! Our server didn't take our drink order until nearly 20 minutes after we sat down and left our glasses empty throughout the night. We had to specifically flag him down and ask for more water. He also never introduced himself and just seemed stand offish the entire time. The food was just okay, my sweet potato fries were barely warm and my burger was bland. My husband's chicken and waffles was such a small portion (one waffle and two chicken tenders) and not great. We also ordered a round of Kamikaze shots and they were not made right and they all looked different! Their draft beer list is extensive though and the overall atmosphere is nice. But I won't likely be returning.

Personaly my family loves this restaurant. But every single time that they have a party bigger than 10 people on the dining side of the restaurant they seem to have an issue. The service is awful when they have partys. Just a couple weeks ago we went in and waited 20 minutes and a waiter NEVER came. So we got up and left. And just today we walked in to a party of at least 40 and didn't even sit down because we knew it wouldn't be a good visit. But overall they have great food and drinks.

The bouncer there thinks he is the king of the world. Guy treats people like they are all convicts, thinks he is funny and people like him but he constantly is harassing and trying to intimidate people. Service is hit or miss. Some people are great and others just don't care. Sit at the bar if you want decent service. Food is OK, nothing special, you can find their selection at any bar within a 5 mile radius without all the extra BS from the bouncer and the hit or miss service . Don't really recommend.

Always enjoy myself here. We went after Adams High School graduation at OU. I was worried about the noise level with my mom and mature aunt. Turns out there was a side to the restaurant I had never noticed. Food and service was wonderful. My mom and aunt love to cook from scratch. They tried th chicken pot pies and loved it!

Plenty of room with a bar and dining area. Live music on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday. There's shuffleboard (table) and a pool table. Trivia on Wednesday and drink specials from 2-6 and half off select appetizers after 10. The food is higher quality, not pre-fab flash fried, at reasonable prices, great for sharing. It's a good place for groups and has a hell of a tap (seasonal rotation along with staples) beer selection. Cocktails are top notch too. Located in a nice area by the college but not a college dive. TL;DR: Good place for eats and drinks with friends or colleagues and soft on the wallet.

I really wanted to tell everyone that the menu on here is very incomplete. Please go to the restaurant website for an accurate menu. I sure would not have gone here from looking at the menu on this site. I wonder how many customers have been lost. And by the way, I would not call their food typical bar food, far from it. I havnt been there in about a year so I was going to look at the menu to get an idea of what I wanted to have tonight. If I hadn't been familiar with them and only saw this menu I would not have gone. It's a great place.

Prices are moderate. Service was not very good. (Everyone in our group had to ask for water refills after our glasses sat for awhile.) Food is pretty good for a sports bar. Yes, this is definitely a sports bar. -don't go if you don't like that vibe. -too many TVs!- Buffalo chicken pizza had good pieces of chicken but not a good pizza (the rest of it) Good place for groups as there were 3 or 4 larger ones at the same time and it worked well. Good craft beer list though.

Years ago, I'd come here with OU colleagues and we'd work while enjoying a beer. I also used to drop by for a good value burger and waffle fries combo. A couple years ago, I decided to try the pizza.. and I've found it to be one of my favorite BBQ chicken pizzas in the area. Although I prefer the pizza and burgers here, I've really never tried anything I didn't care for. Great selection of craft beers - some a little pricey, but never outrageous.

Unique design. Clean bathrooms. Outdoor seating. Good location for reunions, wedding/baby showers ect. Sean was so accommodating. We were taken aback by how strong his work ethic was for being so young. To be more specific his anticipation of all 6 of our needs was ROCKIN; from our drinks to appetizers, to part of our group ordering entrees before the rest, to throwing in a perfectly timed to go order of the meat and cheese platter. We were a somewhat needy group and he never showed a trace of frustration. Grand finale: at the end we noticed he had tables on very different parts of the restaurant. Would have never guessed it because he was always there when we needed him.

Standard American sports bar and restaurant with slightly above average food. Good fried fish, solid burger, and good salads all leave me satisfied. I get the impression they actually try to make good food unlike many restaurants in this genre. I don't think you'll leave with your mind blown, but you should leave satisfied.

Great choice of draft crafts but real slow, slow service. Nachos were great the first round but after half an hour waiting for 2nd round got tired of waiting and got the hell out. They need more wait staff. When you order a drink it should be like 5-10. So we cancelled 2nd round and will go elsewhere next time to watch MSU football.

Absolutely the slowest service I’ve ever experienced. Took over an hour for dinner to be served. Then to top it off my steak kabobs started to moo moo when I cut into them. I ordered them medium but they weren’t even close. Had to wait another 20 minutes for the waitress to come back. After that it wasn’t even worth the wait for another dinner. Definitely a very poorly managed establishment. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere

I don’t know what happened to red ox, it used to be a favorite but the menu is changing in bad ways. Coupled with noisy unwanted live music, the noise level makes it hard to talk to people at your table. The servers are friendly and the prices are decent.

A so-so experience. There was a fair sized beer list with many craft beers leaning strongly to IPAs. The cheese curd appetizer was extremely greasy. There was literally about a teaspoon of grease in the bottom of the plate. The burger wasfine, but price was good with the special. The loaded fries came cold. They might have been good, but that was a bummer. The waitress keyed into that after and asked if anything was wrong. She had said they would have replaced them, but we didn't have time. Service was solid. In all, an average experience.

My husband and I stopped in for our anniversary and did not expect much with it being a bar. This place blew us away. Our meals were delicious (wet burrito and chicken alfredo) and the drinks were fantastic. Our waitress was very helpful. Great atmosphere. Coming back!!!

The food was mediocre at best. If it were not for my awesome server Amanda this evening and my dinner companion, I would've scored two stars. My Spanish rice was crispy as if it were heated in an oven and dried out. The burrata was yummy but, the salad was lacking as a whole. I did however enjoy my chips and guac and my club sandwich.

Booked my daughter’s rehearsal dinner here. Management and staff were amazing from start to finish! They made sure that we got the exact event we wanted with no hassle on our end. Food and service were excellent. Very reasonable prices with great value. We highly recommend.

They had a large selection of beers on tap and mixed drinks. I personally enjoyed being outside on the patio, not entirely surrounded by city scenery.

Red Ox is always a good value and the food is better than most chain restaurants. There are usually great drink specials going on and there are quite a few vegetarian options. Would give 5 stars based on that, however it is very much so a loud bar atmosphere during games and holidays so if you're not into the commotion it's better to check the schedule first.
