This Restaurant belongs to the category of Indian restaurant.
The food and service were beyond our expectations. I truly enjoyed the vibes of this place. Superb place to take my family out for dinner.
We like Indian restaurants because it's easy to find non-meat items and they clearly label the buffet entrees. Today the buffet had 3 vegetarian friendly entrees, one entree with lamb and one with chicken. This restaurant is one of our favorites. The food is always delicious here. Today, Thursday, it got very crowded at lunchtime and some people had to wait for a table briefly because they had a large group. We will keep coming back when we are in the area.
The food looks and sounds very appetizing but you would start regretting it from your 3rd bite of most things. It is low quality South Asian food. It gave me terrible stomach ache and bloating. You will regret for your whole day and then next day you might want to go back because who knows what sort of addictive stuff they put in their food. Then slowly you will start getting out of shape. My colleagues felt the same way and we all stopped going there. I broke that rule and went back and I swear to God I’m regretting it today.
The restaurant is better than the Punjab Indian restaurant. The quantity of the food is huge so ensure you have someone with you to share the food. Ambiance is good with live music.. taste of the food is ok / good but not awesome. Overall good place to have all Indian food items. They have Punjabi, south Indian and Indian Chinese menu in the dinner time. In the morning normally it the buffet they offer for 10 dollars which is good. Not giving 5 star as the food needs to awesome.
The food here is great. I mostly get the buffet stuff and it is always a satisfying experience.
I go here often, always great food and service!
Nice staff. Accommodating. When I told the waiter it was my first time, he offered me the buffet (which in general is usually not hot enough for me), but it was ok. I kind of wish he would've given me a menu anyways. Nice setting, good music.
We ordered 4 different dishes Aaloo ( Potato) Nargis,,chicken Tikka Masala, Paneer , Daal They all tasted the same as same Curry base was used for all three could not differentiate which dish I was tasting
Excellent service and a sort of best Indian cuisines were served..
Very good food and good ambience. Large variety of Indian food dishes was available especially in their buffet menu. Loves the atmosphere and will be definitely visit it again.
The vegan food here is amazing! The give you the options to choose how spicy you want most of the dishes. The restaurant it's classy and cozy inside. They gave non dairy options with coconut milk/cream. The server was so nice and helpful! And for the giant servings the money is totally worth it. They also have clean bathrooms nearby and my 4 year old had a good time!
Ordered food from this restaurant couple of times. Food is unhygienic and very poor quality. I don’t why people don’t recognize it. I think they don’t even deserve 1 star rating “have no other option”.
Spicy! Delicious buffet lunch. Highly recommend you to with a group. Bring a towel.
I did not like the place. I went for dinner. Dishes are not authentic.
Went for lunch buffet, food was amazing. Deep fried cheese balls, need I say more? Definitely ate all I could, and the price was extremely reasonable. Will be going back.
If I had the option of not giving a star , I’d have done that . Terrible spread for a vegetarian loving person . No paneer no pulaav and the worst deserts.
The lunch buffet offers a wide selection of entrees, with salad and dessert. This is a great opportunity to try something new or enjoy your favorite at a reasonable price.
Food was really good. Nice and tender meat
The tastiest food in town!
OMG, terrible service. They dont really care. Food is awful . Never step in again to this place.
Wow, was that good! Delicious Indian food buffet, good service. I love to go there for lunch. because it si so good very busy usually, so I went later today, around 1 p.m.: no waiting, and excellent food, as always.
Best Indian quizine in the area.... hands down. Lunch buffet is extensive and very traditional
Okay food, not really authentic, less flavor.
Not truly authentic Indian food, and not super spicy, but still provides a lot of food that tastes good
Very good buffet but the line can get pretty cramped.
Its a satisfactory buffet experience. Not so much like a Wow factor. But sometimes they have good varieties.
Horrible Indian food! If you actually want to try proper Indian food do not go to this place!!!
Best Indian food in Metro Detroit. Buffet always has a great selection. Korma so good. There's one guy that works there that's never happy and brisk as possible. Somehow, he just adds charm to the place.
Their food is always good. The mixed tendoori grill I ordered was a very large serving. We met Gary Peters there one time. The day we were there a few weeks ago they had live music. He played Wish You Were Here and Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd; and Working Class Hero by John Lenon. Can you dig it?
First time trying Indian food. I loved the fact that I could sample so many options from the buffet. Everything was super fresh. Somethings were a bit spicy for me. But my husband LOVES the spicy stuff.
Decent Indian food, worth going for the lunch buffet, short wait typically around lunch times.
Delicious, lunch or dinner, both great. You can ask level of hotness
Amazing food and service. Cherry on the top is the live music by the musician Abhay!
Not recommended for the Indians. They have customized dishes to Indo-American. Not at all spicy. They had named one dish Chicken tikha but actually it was Chicken mitha... The sweet was awesome only because of that I can afford one star here...
Love their dosa!
Not a lot to compare to, but best Indian cuisine I know of.
Great Menu! Average taste.
My daughter took my here for lunch. It was a buffet and the food was pretty good.
Love this place. Excellent food and the art inside the restaurant is gorgeous. The portions tend to be large so I can usually take my leftovers home and make another meal out of it. I highly recommend the Shaam Savera.
Very good healthy food and delicious.
Best Indian food. Samosas are delicious
I used to frequent this place, good food and service. Miss it.
Though I haven't been here in quite some time the time that I did I can say assuredly the food is worth going back. I'm back as well so it's on the return visit list
Awesome place! Been going here for 20 years
Best Indian Buffet .. Preferable for vegetarian lovers
Great food. Vegan options
Great place to go for lunch during the work week. The lunch buffet has a lot of options and they always have something different each time. Overall the food and fresh naan bread is really good.
We generally order from Rangoli every week. Lately the food taste and quality has been in a free fall decline. Last three times the kebabs ordered were dry, burnt, tasteless or a combination of all three. Ordered two appetizer plates and some other food today and the meat in the samosas was rotten. The kebabs were as usual shoe leather, prison meat quality. Management was apologetic in a perfunctory manner and was more interested in explaining how “other customers served today didn’t have any complaints”. Wouldn’t be going back to Rangoli ever again as there are far better options available in the area. Have a good mind to call Oakland county health department tomorrow as the rotten meat is a concern.
Great Buffet...loved the green peas masala and briyani...excited to find soft gulab jamuns which is rare among Indian restaurants
Keep an eye on the menu online and then plan for it when it's ur favorite dish. We had a good time
Poor Indian flavors, below average lunch buffet! Would not recommend.
I have loved this place's food since college! I drive out of my way to get my Rangoli fix at least once a month. I decided to do a review today when I did a door dash through them for pick up, but there was some confusion with door dash. Rangoli did such a great job handling it and I really appreciated their help and how quickly they remade my meal. I will happily be back and will be ordering directly through Rangoli in the future.
Best Indian food around, hands down. Love the lamb biryani!
Authentic Indian cuisine
I eat at a lot of Indian restaurants and Rangoli is one of my favorites. The buffet has great variety and is clean. The tandoori chicken is tender and flavorful. The staff is always friendly and welcoming.
Waste of time. They don't know the preparation of Fried Rice and Biryani. Taste both are same. No Biryani flavour at all. Am strongly recommended change the cheff.
We love coming to Rangoli. The staff is friendly and helpful and the food is really tasty and authentic. Come on Friday nights for the live Sitar music. It's a pretty cool vibe. Also, this place is always busy, but never so much that we've had to wait for a table.
Really like Rangoli one or the best Indian restaurants in this area I definitely recommend!
Nice good, nice service..
I am not a huge fan of Indian quisine but it is a nice change of pace when I get tired of the typical lunch foods. That being said, Rangoli has changed my mind. First of all who can argue with an all you can eat lunch buffet for $10. Then you realize that this is buffet is one of the nicest, cleanest and well maintained buffets that I have visited. The food quality is great and authentic. The spice level is there but not too hot. The staff seem genuinely concerned that the spice level is appropriate for all visitors. The buffet is a little cramped but that is primarily because the locals keep this place pretty busy. While we have never waited for a table, the place has always had a reasonably full dining room. Management is involved and present in the operations. The staff are not the friendliest but they are always polite, respectful and work hard. All in all, I will be visiting them again and probably pretty regularly.
I now love Indian food. This will be my place of choice for lunch or dinner.
I picked up chili chicken takeout yesterday.. not at all good. It has a good ambience but the food tastes bad. The chicken was not cooked properly
The food could taste a little better. The curry we ordered was extra tangy. Our order was served a bit late as well. Would think twice if I had to dine-in or take out from this place.
Lots of food at a great price!
This is the best Indian resturant in Michigan!
Limited items in the buffet.. the restaurant was neat and clean
A nice place to eat. I enjoy their lunch buffet that has a great selection of food to pick from at a good price.
Mediocre food and unbelievably poor service.
Great Indian food! Service was amazing and the Mango yogurt drinks are a must try!
Absolutely amazing. I've ordered from here from grubhub before but finally have a car and I'm glad not to have to pay the extra fees! I love love love the malai kofta and my roommates agree that the samosas are delish!
Some of the best Indian food I have had in the area and the prices are fair. I love the buffet and when I get carry out the quantity of food is quite large!
This place is a great place to eat. Friendly staff and very very good food.
Liked the food.My son is very choosy but he enjoyed food at Rangoli.Would like to visit again .They have a banquet hall which is good to celebrate any function.
The buffet is good and very inexpensive. I haven't ordered anything from their menu and I haven't visited them for dinner so can't say much about their selection of dishes. Good place overall.
Nit a good restaurant. They use cut and stored vegetables f
I really enjoy the food here. The paneer is the best here.! Also the inside is very classy especially compared to other Indian restaurants.
I am newer to Indian food but everything I have ate here has been awesome!
Excellent fresh food, never old or frozen. Great atmosphere and service. Clean, friendly and comfortable. Highly recommend. Best buffet!
Loved the food and excellent service. The best so far as Indian restaurants are concerned. Could user a better decor, we were placed at the end of the restaurant and the lighting was not the greatest. Could have some pictures instead of the bare wall. I felt I almost set near an ally.
Fresh food, great flavors!
Tasty but hot!
Food is okay.. the ambiance is great..
Best Indian food for miles ! My girlfriends and I come here all the time and always enjoy the food and the atmosphere!
Amazing food and super friendly people! We always eat too much at the lunch buffet! A
The service was great and the food was absolutely incredible. There were options for most every diet and the spice options for dishes are fantastic for those with a high spice tolerance or a low one. Really a fantastic restaurant, highly recommend.
Great and fast customer service and food served still sizzling hot. Indian ambiance with live indian music was an awesome bonus too.
I have only been here twice, but both times the food was excellent and service was very friendly. Would certainly go back again
Excellent food Great price
The food tastes great! Love the attention to detail in flavor, options in the buffet, service and aesthetics. I've been to their buffets on three occasions over the past month and yet to come across the same entree.
Taste and quality of Indian cuisine is not that great as compared to other Indian cuisine restaurants in surrounding areas.
My husband and I had luncheon buffet The food was great and they had A lot of nice dishes to choose from
I have been here a number of times with friends. Good food... poor service. The last couple times my schedule has led me to eat here by myself. As a single diner from the moment you come in during the buffet there is an air that you are inconveniencing them because you are only one person taking up a four seat table in their tiny space. The first time I thought it was me being sensitive but now I am sure as I was asked 3 times before sitting down "Only one?" I never felt like I was a burden in a restaurant before and for it happening again...it won't. I wont be going backl.
Their Tea is amazing, taste and texture which u don't generally find in other Indian Restaurants.
Today's order of a dish came with a brown rice that was pungent, and it was not fresh (I dont't think the rice was cook today). Disappointed. Had to throw away.
Tasty and (seemingly) authentic lunch buffet
Great food for a good price, definitely do the buffet for lunch.
One of the best Indian restaurants in and around Auburn hills. Wide spectrum of food and deserts. Pretty big in space so you don have to wait long to get ur table during rush hours. Excellent desserts specially on weekends. The weekend price for buffet is slightly higher than regular days because of the extra items in the menu.
One of the tri county areas best Indian cuisine.
Amazing food! They do buffet for lunch everyday for lunch so the staff is occasionally a little slow on answering menu questions but if you know what you're ordering, it won't matter. I highly recommend this place regardless of the occasionally slow service. The Imli Margarita is absolutely delicious and the lunch buffet is always different. The samosas are to die for... I dine here no less than once a month. Keep up the good work!!
Good place for indian food. The food is tasty and they have a good selection. The lunch buffets are very reasonably priced, and if you want to sample the type of food they serve, it is the best option.
Yummy buffet!
Decent buffet
Order from door dash all the time! Quick, good and a go to for us!
Food is good. But the service is not that much good. This 4 star for food only. Myself, my wife and my 2.5 years old kid also came for the restaurant. My daughter didn't take much we have shared food for our little one from our plates. You can imagine how the little one will eat the complete buffet. But the waiter included this little one also in the buffet lunch bill. It was 3 buffet bill. For us this the new experience and paid the bill. Thought that in Michigan all the Indian restaurants will be like this... But not
Awesome food. Vegan, gluten free, and Jain dishes available!
Not really as they say! My personal experience is really not good Lot of waiting time even if restaurant is not full so is order taking and coming your food to your table. Disappointed!
The lunch buffet is great, meat and vegetarian options available and never the same dishes on the buffet when you go back another day. Service is friendly and quick especially during lunch.
Clean, peaceful and professional, but the food not good as it used to be.
Good place.. indian food
I love this place, good service and the food is great!
Dont order online through door dash. They dont seem to process the order. Food is good. Some of the dishes can be a bit to oily
Very yummy buffet for a good price, authentic according to reliable sources who have taken me here....
Seriously Bad food, Initially wanna go to another restaurant in that area, and since that was closed and we end up in eating here. That was a bad decision, Mango Lassi was super sweet and a bad taste, looks like they added some preservatives instead of real mango pulp. Pav was good, Naan was terrible, mixed rice was a big joke, empty bowls at 1 PM with out refills., Nothing else is positive to talk about. Avoid.
Good Indian restaurant around the area
Amazing Indian food. Tasty and fresh! Would definitely recommend going here.
Disappointing experience, tasted some rotten food (Hakka noodles) in today’s buffet. First time ever in our 20 years of patronage at this restaurant. I guess the new management is not able to keep up the basic quality and courtesy towards customer. No one came to apologize when we informed the manager about the rotten food. I guess this would be our last visit to this restaurant. Unless Amit, the original owner, takes over again.
This is a pretty decent Indian buffet. The food is what you would expect with rice, curry, soup, chicken, and usually two deserts. The food is on rotation and they always have a few things but change out other stuff enough to make it different. Food is spicy but not so bad if you are a typical American like myself. I've only ever had water and and thums up to drink. Price is good at lunch, not sure if dinner is any different. They usually are busy but there isn't much of a wait. Overall I like this place and recommend it to anyone who can stand a little heat and want to try it.
The food and service are both very good. If you want to try samples of many different kinds of real Indian food, then try their buffet.
Delicious food! Amazing service. Recommended 100%!
The service is great. The selection and quality of food is awesome. I have traveled to India and this is authentic.
Honey balls
Great indian food
Variety of food and great service! Friendly staff.
Rangoli's Buffet is my favorite! Recently been to their banquet hall twice for a birthday party and a community event. Unlimited warm food and soft drinks. Food was good. The service was prompt. Accommodated 75+ people comfortably at the same time. Will surely visit again!
Favorite Indian cuisine hands down! Lunch buffet is a MUST. Flavors are out of this world. A delight to share with friends and coworkers, trust me they will be thanking you for years to come. But warning: food is so delicious you might find it difficult to come up for air and make make small talk!!
It was great awesome food great friendly service
I wish google provides an option to give zero star to this restaurant. If they would I will give them zero star. Anyways I bought lamb chops about 2 months ago to pick up. Brought food home and it was smelling , definitely rotten. I complained to the Oakland county health department. Investigation was done and unfortunately Resturant management was too smart to fool county health officer. They did not find anything. Last night I ordered to pickup some food just to get that half off as promised during my last discussion about rotten lambs. I went to pickup order and manager recognized me and he said you abused me (abused, when that happened? Lie) . He himself admit that his food is old, and rotten and this is how he does run this restaurant. I was shocked to hear that manager is admitting that he in-fact serve bad food to people and was able to fool health department official. He can fool Oakland county officials but not public who eat their food everyday. I HOPE AFTER READING THIS POST, PEOPLE WILL THINK TWICE ABOUT DINING IN AT THIS RESTAURANT
Decent place.. buffets are good but sometimes non buffet food in the evening is not great
First time eating Indian food and I'm hooked space and I love the Indian tea
Vegetarian options from the buffet were ok. Not great. Fairly bland compared to first time I went here. It seems most high reviews I saw were for the meat based dishes. I prefer southern Indian style food so maybe that is why I found it bland? The main entree options were limited (2) for a $10.50 weekday lunch buffet. The restaurant is clean & presentation of buffet very nice. The staff / server was excellent. She was attentive and very pleasant. I will try it again if in the area since with any restaurant some days not as great as others. It is popular so would recommend trying it.
Not one item from their menu has disappointed.
I wish I could give them zero. Avoid this place. I have bought 3 breads each one 2$ and all was burnt. I called manager and he hung out the phone. Restaurant is too dirty, food is expensive and low quality.
Very good lunch buffet.
Rangoli is simply excellent! The lunch buffet is fantastic and they switch it up weekly so there is some variety among common staples like tikka masala / basmati rice etc. Their service is always attentive and the prices are pretty reasonable ie two lunch buffets with tip is about $23 USD. They are pretty much the only Indian restaurant in western Rochester Hills / Auburn Hills / Clarkston area
A fine Indian restaurant in the Greater Detroit area, I love going there but recently, I was disappointed by the behavior of the management. I had ordered some carry out, and when I reached Rangoli to pick up my order, I was informed that they handed out my order to someone else, and the manager contacted the recipient of the wrong order, who agreed to meet halfway. Even I decided to follow the manager to pick up the order from the vantage point itself to save time, and eventually I got my order. What sucked was, during this entire episode, I didn't even receive an apology for wasting time, let alone some gift card or something. It really left a bad taste, I thought these guys were professionals. A small mishap can happen but basic professionalism is something you expect at the least.
I see many Indians gave less rating because we know how exactly they prepare, No passion in serving India's true authentic food, I have tried multiple times with different food here but they completely failed to meet real taste of Indian food. they need to improve a lot.
Have heard nothing but rave reviews about this place and my husband and I have really been wanting to come here to check out the food. We finally made it in for lunch and we didn’t know if we wanted to order off the menu or hit the buffet. So we got up and wanted to see what the buffet had to offer. The buffet looked beautiful, the food looked fresh and hot, And the service seemed friendly. Just before leaving the buffet my husband called me over, and he wanted to show me the cockroaches crawling all over the white linen underneath all of the chaffing dishes. And he said “alright time to go!” My husband and I work in restaurants —-very busy restaurants—and have been in the service industry for years in urban environments as well as private buildings. Neither of us have ever seen a roach in the basement of an establishment and especially not where food is being served and consumed. Mind you this was at 11:30 in the morning in broad daylight. If these roaches are out in the day with many people around they have a giant infestation. They absolutely know they have roaches if they’re crawling around their buffet table. I didn’t want to cause a scene but on my way out the host was upset we were leaving and asked why. I told her that there were roaches crawling around her entire buffet and she seemed shocked. But did show concern. Even still. DO NOT EAT HERE. Roaches were crawling all over the entirety of the buffet. From the linen, to the serving spoons, to to food. NOT OKAY!
Have ordered for pickup & also dined couple of times as It is near to my home, but looks like i need to stop having food from here.Their food doesn't have taste. Veg Biryani is veg pulao, Paneer is not fresh, sambhar is not good. They need to really work hard on their dishes to have genuine taste, flavour and aroma.
Order brown rice but got white, food came without any napkins or even cutlery. I was almost unable to eat it because I was in an office without any utensils.
Probably the best Indian food in the area. There aren't a ton of options in the area, but Rangoli always fits the bill. It can be a romantic night out, or a social gathering. The waitstaff is kind and helpful.
Good food. The taste have improved over last couple of years.
Very nice Indian food. Have taken packed lunches a couple of times. Very delicious, good quality and quantity.
For about $25 for 2 people the buffet has the the most wonderful aromatic and tasty foods. Hundreds of choices
The quality of food is not good. Pretty ordinary....
Just love the food. Prices are reasonable. Staffs were friendly. Ambience was too good. Food was great.
I love the quality of the food and it is oh so delish!
Food was good and worth-able!
Pritama It’s good restaurant. Great food and service. Banquet hall pretty good for group parties. Recently We had Diwali party here...... best experience.... prompt service with great hospitality. Worth place for group events.
This is my all time favorite Indian restaurant in metro Detroit. The food is just excellent, and you get an amazing deal for the lunch buffet. The servers are friendly and the atmosphere is simple and clean.
They give you a lot of butter chicken for $10-$12. Good samosas. Unfortunately most of the appetizers are dry and seriously mediocre. Delicious naan though.
Not many options for Vegetarians in buffet, however whatever was available was good in taste, hygienic and tasty.
Best Indian food I have ever tried. The vegetables, the beef, the lamb, the sauces or curries are just delicious
Excellent service. This was my first experience with Indian food, and Arun was very helpful with finding what I would like. It is my girlfriend's favorite Indian restaurant. Delicious.
Lunch buffet is always awesome at a great price. Rice, several types of chicken, lamb, goat, paneer, veggies and dessert. What's not to love.
I went in for a take out. The prices are . I had ordered the Hyderabad chicken biryani and the chicken 65. Chicken 65 has Curry leaves and mustard seeds which I love. The chicken in the biryani was cooked good but the overall dish did not have the flavor I would have liked. I did not done in but I regret it because the ambiance was great. They had live music which is totally different from the music what other Indian restaurants have. I will definitely be back.
Very nice place for lunch buffet!!
Awesome food!
Never have been disappointed with their lunch buffet. You can pick spicy or not. Have taken colleagues from Turin and they also love the selection and speed in and out if needed.
