The fact that this place has such a high rating disturbs me. People are rating this place because of a high volume of food, not quality. I get your ‘schtick’. More must be good! It’s not. The only thing that would make your food better would be less of it. That pound of bacon (if you can call it that) was flat out disgusting and wasteful. Just thinking about how much you waste product in this day and age is ignorant and reckless. To make available, Smaller less wasteful servings is a socially conscious decision you should have. Although maybe making quality food is not possible for you. Choosing to never eat here again is not enough knowing that ludicrous amount of waste will continue. I love a good value. What you’re serving is garbage. Deep fried bacon? It’s an insult to the very animal you’re promoting. I’ll take four or five slices of a quality product over the pound of salty pork dust you’re passing off as food. You should be ashamed to serve that to your obviously tasteless patrons. I hope people make a morally responsible choice and eat somewhere with less waste and a higher standard for food quality.

We were in town just passing through. We stopped here to get a hot meal. We figured because the parking lot was full, the food should be decent. Wrong! I ordered a simple Turkey club. Big mistake. The toast was burnt, the Turkey was salty and the Bacon extra crisp. The only saving grace was our server was so nice. If you're looking for a hot meal... Pass this place and head to another restaurant.

Had to try Tonys because everyone raves about it. Food portions were big, way to much for us to eat. It was mediocre at best though. Waitress was awesome she was very attentive. Place was dirty, we took our napkins to cover our drinks because of the flies. So disappointed in this experience!

Smell outside (I assume garbage dumpster) was almost too much. I was close to leaving before we went in. Portions huge. Mexican is good. Gravy was burnt. Quick friendly service but you can tell they are trying to hurry you to make room for new customers. Bathrooms gross. All in all I like to stop periodically on way upnorth but worried that kitchen cleanliness might compare too much to bathroom & garbage

An institution in the area and famous throughout the United States. Mostly due to the portion size. Everything on the menu is enormous. Two eggs with bacon? You'll get nearly if not more than a pound of bacon. Deserts are just as huge, maybe bigger. The food is tasty too. Expect a long line on weekends. Sometimes out the door.

I mean, all of the bacon. The waitress was awesome about letting us know the cheaper way to do things, who should just split meals, and was just all around helpful and friendly. The food was great, the portions were huge and everyone left full. Just be warned, if you get bacon, you get the entire pound of bacon. With every bacon order. My kid has been eating bacon for 3 days straight. It's fantastic.

Huge plates of delicious food. Most items around $10. Famous for their 1 pound BLT !!! Picture shows one. Best to share a sandwich unless you're really hungry. Don't be put off if you have to wait in line. It moves quickly. This is a "bucket list" place to eat.

The bacon is awesome piles and piles 1lb specialty on BLT or morning breakfast place. Great atmosphere worth the wait and drive. Never leave hungry large portions. Definitely a must eat place always good customer service as well. I highly recommend Tony's and getting a famous bacon high BLT or the eggs and 1lb bacon platter. You will have Meal for lunch or breakfast the next day also.

However, we got literally 2 lbs of bacon with our eggs, toast, and hashbrowns for 2 people for like 20 dollars. The service was awesome and the price was amazing. We ended up having to take like half of it home. Will go again if I'm up in that area.

Tony's has the ultimate fix for your bacon needs! We stop here on our way to Frankenmuth, and whenever else we can. The prices are VERY decent for the amount of food (and bacon) you get. Every meal is super-sized in portion, the service is good, and there's free candy at the check out! There's usually a line out the door, but how long is too long when you're waiting for perfect food?

Our waitress was amazing- saw our small kids and automatically knew to bring their stuff out as it was ready rather than waiting for everything together. She brought plenty of boxes and stuff too without us asking. We ordered the 10$ BLT sandwiches that come with 1 POUND of bacon! I got extra tomato which helped the bacon. It was very good the mac and cheese was literally the best I've ever had and you could tell it was homemade cuz of the clumps of cheese. It was seriously amazing and I ate a bite with bacon from my sandwhich OH LORD it was amazing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND we went on Monday at like 4 and it wasn't very busy but I've been by and seen the line out the door. We got right in and we're very pleased!

Diner style restaurant with lots of seating, but it's a popular place so at busy times you may have to wait a bit. The wait staff is fun and sassy and service is good. As to the menu, it's pretty extensive, but I have to emphasize, if you like bacon, this is the place for you! They boast an appetizer of one pound of crispy bacon and if that's not enough, a BLT sandwich with a pound of crispy bacon piled high, where the lettuce and tomato are just minor players. The sandwiches are all VERY generously filled, in fact all the menu items I saw being served are absolutely enormous, so come here hungry.

Normally I would give them a 5 star but it just wasn't there. When we got our omelette it was still cold in the middle and our server only came back to our table once. The only things that were this visit was the coffee and bacon.

Fast friendly service. They had clean tables and bathrooms. You get way to much delicious food for your money. You have to get their delicious pound of bacon. They serve breakfast anytime. They have a huge menu and have kid meals too!

Fell in love with this restaurant on my trip out to Michigan. I recommend to visit at least once minimum. One of my favorite spot to go to eat. Their homemade strawberry jam is the best i had in my life period. Friendly staff and great portion sizes for your money. Only one small little suggestion if u order anything with toast make sure to look over it. My last visit was the only time they gave me moldy bread. I noticed it right away and told the waitress. I wish she would of took it off my bill or something to make it right. But she didn't, i felt a little disappointed about it. Never the less this is my favorite restaurant in Michigan.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I was on my way home from Flint, and I had to stop. French toast on Italian bread with bacon and a side of Italian Toast with extra butter and strawberry preserves... OMG. I also ordered a Steak Sandwich with Pizza Cheese.... $21.23 later and I'm set for the day. At other restaurants, that's only one entree.

It's exactly what you'd expect - giant American sandwiches! If you're on a road trip, why not stop in and have fun. My mom and I shared one Jibbler (corn beef and cheese sandwich) with a side of bacon. The only exciting part is the price for the serving size. Otherwise, the taste was mediocre. Friendly service.

While the food was good my server VERONICA wasn't at all!! I waited like 3 minutes for another waitress to wipe the table off & then when VERONICA finally came over & her ATTITUDE was awful she never came to the table to make sure food was ok, I ran out of the water she never replaced a cup of water, the bread came with my meal had to ask for that!! Hope going forward she has better ATTITUDE or maybe she needs to find a job where she doesn't service the public

This may be a cool place to take someone who hasn't been... Just to show them what a ridiculous amount of Bacon looks like. I just wanted 2 regular Sunny side up eggs, bacon and white toast.... What I really got was about a pound of bacon, literally... The 2 eggs were cooked ok, but the toast was thick! Over an inch thick. Just make sure you ask before ordering the toast.

Before I start please know I have been a chef for 30+ years. We arrived at 8:10 on 9-18-19. We waited for 2 mintues before we were waved and then followed the pointing arm of the cashier to the far left of the restaurant to an empty booth. We sat for 10 minutes before we stopped a server walking through and asked for our server. She then disappeared into the back. Minutes later she came back to check on her table that was next to us and said " no one has been here yet?" Nope the 3 of us replied at the same time. Another 8 mintues goes by and I ( which I have never done in my life) get up and go and find a server on the other side of restaurant and say " can you please send a server to that table?" Pointing to the table with 2 other people at it. After waiting another 4 minutes we just left. They were not that busy ( lots of open tables dirty but open) poor management to say the least. We just want some eggs. Over 15 minutes with not even a greeting. Wont be back.

My husband is from Michigan and had always heard about this place. When we drove up from Indiana, we had to stop for a visit. We were both very disappointed. Although there was no exaggeration about the portion sizes, there was much exaggeration about the food itself. The food just wasn't up to the hype! The only thing that I was happy about was that they say that they will give you candy for the road, and boy did they! I was only going to take a handful, the lady at the register insisted that I take a bagful, once we told her we were from out of state. Sorry to say, it was nothing special.

I was excited about trying Tony's this weekend, but was kinda disappointed. The BLT was huge, and overall, decent, but the "crisp" pound of bacon was chewy, even after I sent it back for a dunk in the fryer. It was packed, which accounts for the servers being in a hurry, but resulted in service being rather under par. They should switch back to their old, thinner, crispy bacon and hire more servers if they are always so busy. It was decent, but definitely didn't reach my expectations.

The food was good. BIG portions. Everybody seems to give great reviews to the food and portions but the place was FILTHY. Parking lot a mess. Sidewalks greasy. What was the worse: ceiling a mess. Dirty, falling down tiles. Is it so hard to clean or replace to make it appealing. The light above my table wire tied. Heard so much about the place went out of our way to visit. If the area where you eat is dirty how is the kitchen. If they don't care enough to make it clean I WILL NOT COME BACK.

This place is a must if you're a hungry person or just enjoy good food. We were there on a Saturday evening and it was extremely busy, but the waitstaff were phenomenal! People were in and out like a well oiled machine! Definately will be back! Maybe for a dozen egg omelette or a burrito that is as big as the plate that it comes on or maybe even an ice cream sundae that is big enough to feed 4+ people!

There is good tasting food, they give you A LOT of food. They have a wonderful staff. This place is worth to dine in and have leftovers to take home. They are very busy and it is a bit loud, but it's a great place for the family and for kids to make noise and it feels like home.

Eaten here dozens of times over the years and the food quality has never been good. Big portions, sure. Famous bacon is super thin cheap dollar store stuff, a downgrade in quality over real bacon they used to serve. Many patrons used to buy the bacon to take along for the weekend. Bisquits n gravy tasted like flour paste dosed in pepper. Never understood the allure. Must be just tradition, on the way north. Skip the long lines and wait times and eat literally anywhere else.

Amazing prices for amazing food. You get so much food, it does cost more but the servings are HUGE. The staff is wonderful and are very helpful. We didn't even ask for refills and she was right there refilling them for us. We didn't have to wait long for our food and you could tell them food was fresh and just made. This is one of my favorite places to go when I'm super hungry, but most definitely expect to leave with a to go box.

Busy like always. I stopped in with my 4 yr old after we we to a zoo. I wanted to see the look on his face when they brought out the hot fudge sundae bigger than his head. Never had a bad meal here. The portions are big. Only bad thing is it's 70 miles away.

Great food, great service, great place! Always a must stop when driving to northern Michigan! Their ruben was delicious as their famous 1lb bacon BLT! Everyone should at least once in their life visit Tony's! Fast and friendly service and of course awesome banana split!

If you like quantity over quality this is your place. To be fair the bleu cheese and ranch dressing, cheese burger, and banana split were very good. The mac & cheese was subpar, Tony's steak sandwich consisted of a small round piece of meat between two large slices of bread. My husband and I spent $50 minus the tip. We won't go back.

My daughter and I went here. We're both very pleased with our food today. We ordered the BLT . Which is huge like it's reputation. We took home lasagna. Which once again . Didn't disappoint. It was a large portion. Made just right. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is they wet there floors heavily at closing. So, it made it very difficult to get to the restroom . If they change that , I'll gladly give 5 stars. It's worth the travel to get there

Huge portions! Long line on weekends, but food was surprisingly good. We didn't get bacon (like everyone else did), but burritos and sub were size of plate. Almost everyone took something home as leftovers

Food is good, but the restaurant is not clean. The cooks eat right out of the basket in front of the guests. They were drinking and eating while they were cooking. I did not see any of them stop and wash their hands. There were no hairnets, hats, or gloves used during my visit. The filters above the grill are loaded with grease. The ceiling is stained through out the restaurant. Not sure why this place is so busy all the time. Service was good.

The quality of the food for the price and the fact that it's a diner is great! The portions are huge and you can see them cooking in the back with the open kitchen, it's very small and gets really packed but I had no trouble finding a spot, service is fast

Food here is normally the bomb..I ordered the the Tony's original steak sandwich..it was basically a pizza sandwich but the piece of meat wasn't proportioned to the bread...and the meat was dry and hard. I would never order this sandwich again it was terrible.

If you are in the Birch Run/Frankenmuth area or if you are visiting the state this place is a must visit! The portions are massive and the prices are low. Even when they are packed the food still comes out fast.

This place is the place to come if you are hungry. If you can put down some good food then this is the place for you. This place lives up to all the hype. A side of bacon is one pound of goodness. There was 3 of us and we could not eat it all. There were many customers that had take home boxes because the serving sizes are out of this world. Down home cooking and old school diner food. This place is always busy so if you can take the time to wait then don't pass this place up.

Went there for the first time and was amazed by the amount of food you get. I ordered French Toast and received (3) huge slices on Italian bread and (1) slice was too much for me. I ordered bacon to go with it and was served a pound or more of bacon. Looked like enough to feed 4-5 people. Their Banana Split was big enough to serve four people. If you like to eat a lot, it's the place to go. Prices was reasonable especially for the amount of food you receive.

Mmmmm Sooo good.Service was just ok, but bacon sandwich was so good. So was Rubens sandwich. Had leftovers for 3 days. Price was very reasonable. Wish Tony would be near us in Ohio.

It's all about the bacon here! I haven't been to Tony's in more than 25-years. It was great getting back. Things felt smaller and tighter inside the diner as i remembered, but the food was great. Service was okay, kept getting my drink wrong.. But everyone should check it out once. Bacon, bacon, bacon..

Wow everything is big. You literally take away a lb. If bacon if you order 2 BLT's. The poutine was great, were not Canadians but like the mix... The onion ring order was huge as well. The server Ann kept the soda refilled Place was packed on a Friday... Maybe a hundred people. Worth it, still got a great seat
