Mercury Burger & Bar strikes me as being a classic place. Their selection of burgers is pretty well rounded, though I wasn't terribly impressed by the beers they had on tap. The service was good, as was the food. Their tater tots are tasty. It's not an upscale experience; the decor is akin to that of an old-time diner. If the first floor is filled, you can find seating in the basement. It's all pretty cool. I would recommend this restaurant for after a baseball or football game. It's located in the Corktown area of Detroit, where you have a number of options, if this place is too packed.

I hear from some people (college students at Wayne State), that this is the best spot for burgers but I just didn't see it. I've had two burgers from here, one was pretty good 8/10, the other was at most 5/10. The beer is very reasonably priced. I probably won't go back here again though.

I'm in Detroit Michigan from Los Angeles California one week of each month. I Googled restaurants and Mercury Burger popped up as a comparable to Islands and Stacked in my area of LA. Google was right, this place is all that and then some. The food, people and customers are friendly and very nice. I'll be eating here every chance I can when I want a burger; Thanks Mercury.

Stay away man. The top shelf martinis are served with 10 o’clock gin and the burger meat is class J. Overpriced plastic experience. You want retro Detroit? This place will be boarded up before no time

I always love coming to this place for beer and a burger! They have a great selection for all different tastes and a specials menu that changes often. I personally get the French Onion. They also have a wide variety of fries whether you want them for yourself or feel like sharing a couple and those could be regular or sweet potato or you could even opt for tater tots. It is always a great experience and I love changing it up each time. Always finish with a milkshake or a Boston Cooler. Service is great and food is consistently delicious. I would go here alone or with friends! It is always a delight!

My gf and I went in for dinner after walking past. We had a little to eat and drink and she got sick. She went to the bathroom and on the way passed out briefly. I went to her aid and the manager basically pushed me out of the way and said "do you know this man? What has he done to you?". The assumption I'm drugging a woman or intending to do something nefarious is so deeply offensive to me based on everything I am and believe in as a human and a man and a father of a daughter is something I'm struggling to get over. I expressed this POV to the said manager and all I got was "as a woman I'd do it again". No apologies. No trying to explain a position. In the same way as every woman deserves respect, so does every man.

They have the best sea salt & pepper fries hands down. Burgers are on the small side for the price. But the atmosphere is nice and we love sitting on the patio.

Can't go wrong. Great food. Great staff. Awesome milkshakes with adult elixirs! Yum. Located in historic Corktown in the D. Ford bought the train station and produced a wonderful light show tonight, with an anticipated potential to have many events occurring in the huge open areas next to this restaurant.....GO D! What a pleasant area to hang with many eateries and fun walkabouts.

Really great place in a cool part of Detroit. I found the menu to be really interesting and a great selection of specialty burgers. The ambiance is very interesting. A lot of historical items from Detroits history. Staff was good and helpful. We also got a couple of shakes to go and they were fantastic. Definitely a place to hit up.

Great burgers and good beer selection. There's hardly ever a wait and the patio is nicely blocked from traffic on Michigan Ave. If you're looking for a change of pace, the Eastern Market (black bean burger) is delicious and I always like the fried green BLT. Chili cheese tots are the best side IMO.

Our favorite burger joint by far! Great atmosphere in the heart if Corktown. Amazing burgers! Vegan options available. Really good sweet potato fries. Nice selection of hit sauce. Decent beer/wine menu. If you haven't been and you like burgers... Seriously, you got to go. Our favorite is to sit in the outdoor patio summer or winter (it's heated in the winter).

Nice patio area. Poutine and the chili cheese tots were on point. I've enjoyed their burger multiple times but today I got the NY Burger which was overcooked, onions were fresh instead of grilled, meat did not taste very fresh, very little thousand island, sauerkraut and I didn't even taste the bit of corned beef. Our waiter was very understanding and took it off the bill. Overall service was great.

Outrageous milkshakes both regular and alcoholic. The whipped cream is the best I've ever had. Great variety of Burger options for carnivores and herbivores. The seating inside is okay, but the outdoor patio when the weather is nice is perfect. There's also cool street art on the wall.

I love this place it's by the Detroit dog park and they allow dogs on the patio. My dog and I frequently go over there after the park to get some lunch. They treat my dog as a guest like they do me. She gets a hamburger I get the fries. The poutine fries are good.

Mercury bar has always been a go to for my group of friends. Spent many late fun nights here! Located in corktown and has convenient parking near the old train station. Service is always spot on and food always comes quickly, even if they are slammed with people. Staff is friendly and will conversate if you talk to them. Lots of places to sit with colorful murals on the walls. The food is really good. They offer a wide selection of bar food including burgers, fries, shakes, hot dogs, etc. The burgers are cooked to your desire, I usually order the classic medium rare with pickled carrots. The boston cooler is a great dessert. Honestly this place is great. Prices are fair but can get expensive sometimes. It is definitely worth trying at least once though.

Great burger joint in Corktown. We went there for a quick bite before going to downtown for a show. They were friendly, courteous, and fast. They have a variety of burgers including vegetarian and Turkey which were also tasty based on my friend's feedback. Will definitely go back again.

We went on the patio on a Saturday. Pretty cool atmosphere. They seemed short staffed so everything was slow. The food and drinks were just average at best. Just so many places I think are better and not too far away that it's really not worth going back to. It wasn't bad though

Delicious burger and an awesome experience at Mercury, really glad my family and I decided to check them out last weekend! Ordered “The Local” burger from their menu, very tasty and was highly satisfied! Cool atmosphere, variety of seating options indoor, outdoor with canopy, or outdoor open air. They have a great variety of burger types and options, something for every taste and a must-see for any burger lover in Detroit! Nice corner bar location in Corktown right by the old Michigan Central Station. Definitely can see myself coming back to this place!

I tried Mercury for the first time with a big group, they were very quick to seat us. I ordered the classic burger (medium rare) which was delicious and cooked to the right temp! Their "special sauce" is terrific. Usually a special sauce is similar to Thousand Island dressing, which is my fave - and this one fit that comparison. The garlic fries are loaded with minced garlic, truly yummy. We were too stuffed to try a boozey milkshake, but will be back!

I love the ambiance at this place. Casual and perfectly priced. Inside or outside on their patio the service is great. Of course they are known for their burgers, which are awesome, but this time I ordered the fish sandwich. The waiter assured me it was lightly battered, but it wasn't. The fish inside tasted wonderful, but i would have liked it better if the batter wasn't so over done. And always get fries!!

Came there on a Friday during lunch with a party of 8. Our waitress was amazing. I can't remember her name, but she had lavender colored hair, and she was superb! Stayed on top of our drinks, updated us on our food wait time, was extremely attentive and professional. And our food, omg! It was delicious! I got "The Juicy" and added a fried egg and bacon, with their seasoned fries. They were SOOO good! And the St. Germaine drink was delicious, strong enough and smooth enough. It was just right!

I really like it the decor and the atmosphere. I don't like that their burgers don't come with fries. And they have these two tables off in the back in a corner right next to each other. Probably a foot away from the tables touching and it's not like the others where you can see straight through to the bar, it's a solid wall surrounding us. But the food was amazing.

Outstanding burgers and service in a cool little diner themed burger bar. Got the southwest Detroit burger with jalapeños and it was fantastic. Burger was well seasoned and the toppings were great. Also got a side of poutine tater tots which were fantastic. Little bit pricey, but worth it.

finally decided to check this place out the other day and was amazed at how good the food was grade A Burgers! I got the Southwest Detroit Burger which had avocado salsa tortilla chips (minus the onions because I think they're absolutely disgusting) with cheese, jalapenos and the fiesta fries to match with it and was very satisfied. Will definitely come back here again upon discovering the cool kids area in the basement on my way to the bathroom ( not as loud in the basement which makes for better conversation). Good drinks and Lively atmosphere didn't wait long for my food at all. can definitely be an option for a date night or quick date

It was OCT 6. So nice out we sat on the patio! I had the tatter tots poutine (made with real curds) and thr tachos... Both amazing. Also ate thd Onion Burger. Food was fast and fresh. No complaints! Plenty of nearby parking

Went on a Saturday and they moved slow and the place was packed. I haven't been in years and that's never happened so I was thrown back a bit. I opted to sit on the patio and that was cool to eat and people watch thru the wood fence. Got the crispy chicken instead of my usual turkey burger; minus the avacado. I got the tater tots as well and a stella artois on tap. The first beer was kinda warm. Beers on tap are usually cold so I wasn't sure. The second beer was cold so maybe that first one came from the bottom of the keg. Sandwich was crispy and delicious, I'd order it again.

Great atmosphere and design, love the beer garden. Southwest Detroit Burger was really good but just too much going on to be great. Tater tots were phenomenal. One negative is the plastic cups for drinks, I get it for outdoors but would like to see a change. Recommended if you’re in the area.

Just had lunch here at 11 am. Wait staff was friendly and greeted us right away , the restaurant was clean and the food was reasonably priced and well prepared. They also have high chairs if you want to bring you kid(s), although we didn’t notice a kids menu. We had the classic burger, the juicy, fries and onion rings.

You could get an equivalent burger from Steak N Shake in terms of quality and flavor. Fries were decent. Beer was served not so cold. Food was served quickly, which was nice. For a place that calls themselves a "Burger bar" their burgers are below average at best. HopCat and Jolly Pumpkin have MUCH better burgers and fries. And beer. And atmosphere.

Mercury Burger Bar is one of few places that I have a go-to, because their black bean burger is just so good. The other burgers are great too, but if you like vegetarian fare, you may know that a veggie burger that is *actually good* is hard to come by. Also it comes with avocado on it. Their outdoor seating is wonderful in the warm months, with long tables that are great for accommodating groups. If you've got a sweet tooth, check out the milkshakes, they won't disappoint.

The service was good but the food was truly subpar. I got a burger which was cooked medium well and some Cajun fries. The burger really had no flavor and the fries were so salty they made my lips burn. My date's burger was no better and his tater tots tasted like onion rings and old grease. I heard great things about Murcery and I was so excited to try it, but I left completely disappointed and feeling like maybe I missed the glory days of this place.
