Pretty damn good burger. Of course not the best in the world. But really good. I’m 1 hour away and still make it here to eat. Not a fan of deep fried veggies or fries. Burger can be built on various buns and toppings. My favorite bun is onion or poppyseeds. Definitely good quick stop for food!

Wow! Decent burger, loved the unique onion rings, but it is very expensive for what it is. Up charges for everything really add up (80 cents for grilled onions on a slider! Thought that would come with). Will never go there again.

The meat quality is obvious. Fun toppings too. They have gluten free buns but if you are super sensitive the grill top is shared with other buns. The fryer for fries is also shared with breaded fried goodies (lots of breaded veggie options-YUM!). On the plus side staff is very friendly about the allergies. I can see why it is such a popular place. And a short walk to The Blank Slate ice cream shop

It's ok. Maybe the hype was thanks to the original and being on TV. Overpriced and wont go again unless a reunion with my coworkers is due this is where we went. Line is slow. The fun we thought was the ordering process...we were so geeked to try to not make a mistake...yet nothing. They actually flirted with us and well complimented how we looked. Great. But we wanted to be yelled at. Food really wasn't anything special. Sad the experience was nothing like what we hoped and planned for. Food was ok. White castle is close wont be back

This place is Simply Amazing! I am a professional Burger expert and these are the best burgers on the planet that I've ever came across. The fries and vegetables are good, everything is good. The People(workers) Are Awesome!! for change you can get 50 cent pieces and $2 bills, it's a great experience and everyone should try it at least once and I'm sure you'll be back... like us :-)

Very overrated! Onion rings were burnt and the chicken sandwich had no flavor. Only one person in our group actually enjoyed the burger. Everyone else said their burgers had no flavor. Very average. Makes me wonder if Guy Fieri and Adam from Man vs Food were paid to give good reviews of this place. Seriously, LACKLUSTER!

Very good burgers & fried vegetables. They start cooking them as soon as you order. That freshness really shows. I can see why they've been around since the 50's. We walked there, so I'm not sure if there is a parking lot. For a Saturday night the service was great. I will take my friends there the next time I'm in the area.

Horrible place. I have never offended by a restaurant in Ann Arbor until today. Having unhelpful staff yelling at and blaming customers is not a good way of doing business. Especially for first time customers. I had done extensive research on their menu and way of ordering before opening their door to avoid any trouble. But still, disappointed. Burger is just okay. Not cheap either. Try something else.

Wow! What a nightmare! Service sucked. First time in there and wasn't sure how everything was done. I told her it was our first time in there but she still yelled at us because we wasn't scooted all the way down or didn't know about the burger count. I couldn't stand there and not say something. I should of walked out. $30 later. Nobody needs to be talked to like that. They expect you to know what to do when you get in there. I'll never be back. They don't even deserve 1 star in my book.

so my son and I was watching reruns of Diners, Drive-in and dives when we saw this episode. my son loves burgers and we wanted to try it. The Service was nice but the Food is horrible. 3 of us ordered burgers and 1 person ordered the chicken sandwich. we also had onion rinds and fries. Nothing was good. the Onion rings and fries was cooked in month old oil. at least that's what they taste like and the burgers and chicken had no favor at all. I had better burgers from just about everywhere.. oh well I went, and I will never go back. I wonder if guy wasn't paid for a good rating.

Dont just take my word for it, click below on the sort tab then lowest ratings to find out exactly how you'll be treated. This many people can't be wrong or lying. The people that work their go out of their way to be rude but not like in a fun way rude, they made a handicap woman stand in line because their crazy stupid rules about everyone must stand in line for themselves even kids and handicap ! We went there with 2 old handicap lady's who went to immediately sit down, the plan was for the rest of the group to get their food for them, one of the guys who didnt even know how to work the register actually came from behind the counter to go to the table to tell the 2 old lady's that if they dont stand in line themselves they ain't getting food, and no I am not making this up !! One of the ladys didnt eat because she felt embarrased, The food was decent but too expensive, but the horrible rude service explained why the place was empty during lunch hours. Sorry to leave a bad review but i believe their trying to have a concept of being rude but when your doing that to a handicap woman who cant stand its shameful. As much as I would like to leave more stars i just cant do it. And no we wouldn't ever go back.

I am not sure five stars are enough - this is a greasy burger joint - you can get fried eggs, fried salami, other grilled items - you order up to 5 patties on a burger at a time - I find that 2 to 3 patties is the perfect ratio to sauce, salami, egg and deluxe lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle. I also have to recommend the Pappa Mixed Veggies - broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms, onions - so good. Get your own tray and watch for the interesting change they give you - lots of silver dolars, $2 bills and such Be ready to just answer the questions they ask when they ask them

When going to Blimpys you must read the signs clearly posted on the counter. You start with your basics then add ons. Burgers are good, fries are great. Add ons can get pricey but to be expected. Was told this was a must eat at place and was not disappointed.

Word to the wise, read the rules for ordering first, they are posted on the wall. Interesting selection of addons for your burger, fountain and bottled drinks. Wonderful sliders and good fries. Their schtick is you order in a very particular way and only answer the questions they ask you. You find these places in college towns all the time. Unfortunately, dude got sassy with my pregnant wife, who had never been there before. I don't think he realized how close he came to being decapitated by one of their cafeteria trays.

This place is one of a kind. From the ordering process to the seating arrangement, you won't see another restaurant like it. The food lives up to the reputation as well. The burger was wonderful and unlike any other I have ever had before. The fries were pretty bland, and I plan on trying something else in their place if I ever make it back to Ann Arbor. Because if I do, I will definitely be visiting Blimpy Burger again.

Absolutely yummy burgers, fries, and onion rings in Ann Arbor! there is a process to ordering that must be followed, otherwise you will be asked to leave (just kidding!). I highly recommend eating at this amazing place that has been around since 1953. Everything was perfect and delicious! Go Blimpy Burgers!!! 5 Stars!

Had to wait 30 minutes in line but it is worth it. Don't fret about the ordering process, it is really simple. 1. Take a tray. 2. Order whatever you want from the fryer. I recommend fried onions. 3. Put a cup on your plate if you want a fountain pop. 4. Tell the grill guy "triple on plain" to get a triple burger on a plain bun. Tell him if you want grilled veggies now as well. Don't talk about cheese at this point. 5. When your burger is done he'll ask you about cheese. 6. Tell the guy at the end of the line what condiments and toppings you want. 7. Ask for ketchup for your fries if you want some at this point. 8. Pay and tip. Carry your tray to a table. Get a fountain pop on the way if you paid for one.

Very good food. You can watch as they fry your burger. You say what kind of toppings you want. They put in fresh fries or onion rings for you. Your choice of burger bun. Your choice of condiments. All assembled right in front of you. And last of all your choice of soft drink. Find the table you want to sit at and enjoy. Within walking distance of downtown Ann Arbor. Fun shops along those streets too.

The workers aren’t rude, just very direct. The food was just ok, not over the top great. One thing I disliked was that two people prior to me had mushrooms put on their burger and I got some on mine and my wife’s, even though neither of us wanted mushrooms. Other then that, for a first timer, I think they could be more helpful then just saying no like we should know “how” to order in their environment.

I spent over $16 on a "quad" with cheese and various toppings and some fried zucchini. That's it. They charge separately for every topping and for the BUN, so be very careful- yes, the burgers are excellent, but it's very easy to rack up an outrageous bill just by asking for toppings.

We went here before the game against Penn State. The line was pretty long but it went along at a steady pace and was well worth the wait. Thwy do have the rules you follow but it's easy to understand. Their burgers are really good and the fries are thick cut steak fries. I reccomend going here if you like a good burger and fries. I feel like as long as you pay attention when the cook asks their questions you'll be fine and love the place like I did!

So here's what's great about Blimpy Burgers, they definitely use very fresh, high quality ingredients, and I absolutely appreciate that. My triple patty burger was decent, not great. The meat was pretty dry on my last visit. The onion rings lost me because it was basically a greasy onion with very little breading. They serve artisan, bottled soft drinks, which I love. But, for me it wasn't worth the money or dare I say the hype. Maybe it was just an off day. But I will always be true to the original, being from here. I may be back but I was a bit disappointed this time.

This is my favorite local hidden gem. It has a long past and a culture to order . . . hamburgers. I love the burgers, but I go for the fried vegetables. $8 for a mound of fried mushrooms, zucchini, onion, etc. The only issue is the line. You might have to wait half an hour standing to order and eat. This often rules it out as a possible lunch spot.

I loved this place when I was in college. Today was the first time I had been back in over ten years, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my memory of it. The stuff from the fryer (fries and onions) was overcooked and had no flavor (seemingly no salt or seasoning). The fries had to be covered in ketchup to make them palatable, and the onions were only salvaged because I love the taste of cooked onions. The burger itself was fine. I think it would have been better if I would have ordered the plain bun because two patties isn't enough meat for the bigger buns. Overall, the food somehow managed to be both greasy and dry with little flavor, a disappointment on all levels.

An absolute classic. If you haven't been, you have to go. Beware though, it's a lot of food. Like I eat a lot, but I can only eat maybe a triple and a side of fries. Great service, everything is made like right in front of you. You really can't go wrong with anything you get, granted it's pretty limited to burgers and fried foods. Make sure you choose a small enough bun, the patty size is deceptive. I got an onion bun on a triple, and there was a lot of bun.

I'm a burger guy. Taystee Burger and Blimpy Burger are my go-to's for a mouth watering burger. Lines can be long, and cash in hand is better than plastic. Best burgers, best staff, great history. If you can't take a little lip, go eat at McDonald's where you order with a screen. I make this a stop every time I am in southeast Michigan. Couldn't ask for better burgers or deep fried veggies. The meat is ground daily and all the veggies are prepared in house (except the fries) I would give six stars if I could.

My son who has eaten there before told me sarcasm is there a thing (employees) The wall has all the directions and it does say up there that the last two questions and you answer the question and only the question and don't tell him if you want ketchup and mustard or whatever until you're asked what you want. It's kind of like an assembly line. it's not very big not many places to sit down when you're done eating they want you up and gone so someone else can have the table It was an experience and the food was good.

Since they've moved downtown, prices have increased and quality has decreased. Almost 20 bucks for one triple, cold onion rings, and 2 beverages. Today my son - a meat lover and former Blimpy fan - admitted that Five Guys is just as good. A note to vegetarian family members: don't plan on eating here. Last time I came, my veggie burger had crispy little meat scrapings. Ugh.

ATTENTION PEOPLE LEAVING NEGATIVE REVIEWS BASED ON CUSTOMER SERVICE: You're being laughed AT, not sympathized with. Look, the buisness has been around A2 since 1933. Plenty of loyal customers. Simple formula. If you're new, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE WALL BY THE MENU! Order hamburgers, then eat on the tray and enjoy. Then... leave so the next customers can eat on a clean table. Being curt with customers who want to slow the system helps filter them out. (If anyone is offended so much that they have to complain on a public forum like this, they're not wanted at Krazy Jim's, and they would be better off elsewhere.) Don't take it personal, it's just hamburgers. Oh, and if you want a bunch toppings that will mask the taste of the meat, you'll pay for it... Keep it simple or go to a salad bar! Lastly, my "review" of the food: I go there when I'm in town. Try it for yourself though. If it's not your style, do everyone a favor and move on.

Very historical burger place , fresh patties made in front of you .. that's a reason to eat otherwise pretty standard place for dining in. People might prefer this place for ambience than actual burgers itself. Had a chili size blimpy , a lot of additions to standard 3 Pattie burger. It was good bit definitely not unique. My word , go for ambience and a one time experience otherwise it's just a food .

I went here for lunch with my family after doing some Christmas shopping. I had my daughter sit at a table with our bags while the rest of us got into line. I waited over 15 minutes in line only to get up to place my order. Upon the beginning of placing my order I ordered a mama fry, a papa fry, an a papa onion ring. THE OWNER then instructed me that I must have all people in the party stand in line with me. I explained to him that she was sitting at a table with our bags because I didn't want to have my hands full while trying to carry the food. He then proceeded to scold me and tell me he will allow it this time, but next time he would not. He then placed a second tray under my tray and instructed me that I MUST EAT OFF THE TRAY, NOT THE TABLE. Because he didn't want to have to clean the tables. So I decided to leave, but to make sure he wasn't just an employee I went to the side and politely asked a worker working in the back if he was the owner. The employee said yes. I said thank you and proceeded to gather my items and leave peacefully. THEN THE OWNER CAME OUT OF THE DOOR AFTER US, telling me he didn't want to make me upset, but he was glad I choose to leave. I told him I will not be back. He told me GOOD I don't want you back. So if you want a hard time from a owner that can easily turn away customers,that was planning on spending well over $75.00 for his food, then go here. But if you don't want a piss poor customer service than don't go HERE!!
