I am a local been here for years. Today 3-22-19 is the 4th time I've been here in a month, service has been getting worse and the time to get food for a fairly uneventful night with minimal people has been worse every time I've been here recently. Not sure what the deal is but over the past 12 years it's been great over the last 6 months it is absolutely falling apart.

Good food with huge portions. So if you're only a little hungry, order 1 meal and split it. Their cocktails are on tap though...so that's weird. If you go there for happy hour, you'll need to verify what beverages are exactly part of happy hour, since it's not what u think it is...they are only very specific things. And go over your bill with a fine tooth comb. They apparently can't get their tickets straight and charge everybody whatever without verifying that your bill contains only what you ordered.

This used to be a great bodega. But after two very mediocre meals in the fall of 2018, we doubted we'd go back. But we did and not again. The craft beer menu has shrunken mightely. So has the food menu. The unique items like the Maple Pork Chops are gone. It is now a typical Burger bar with a few high end items like ribs an steak, but the prices have ballooned. We left after drinks. Do yourself a favor and and skip this dying joint..go to Jodi's Twisted Antlers if you want a burger, or Maddie's on 31 for similar far at much better prices.

I would have given a five but the pricing seemed a little high. I would imagine to get $$$ out of tourists to the area. The food was VERY good and I really enjoyed my Tangelo beer. They were also really nice and didn't kick us out of the dining area well after it seemed everyone else was gone.

It has been a long time between visits mostly because of how busy they get. That being after being to several other restaurants and feeling we wasted our time and money and should have stayed in and cooked a real meal. This evening was worth ever cent plus!! Incredible meal cooked to perfection with great taste your chief and kitchen staff and wait staff at 5 star.

Great place tucked away from most of the tourist traffic. While unfortunately ,you may be mislead by the name, if your looking for bratwurst, sauerkraut, and a big pretzel you will not find them here. You will find amazing pub food that shows up to your table in huge quantity and the areas largest selection of beers on tap. They also have the largest bathroom door handle ever.

Been there many times over the years always leave unhappy with the service idk why I go back maybe because I hope that things have changed but its always the same and never going back again!! It does not matter if it's busy or slow or if the server has been there 10 years or 10 days it's still horrible literally you have to walk to the bar a get a drink weather it's a water or an over priced cocktail or beer and if you look around at the other tables everyone else in the place needs a beverage or waiting on something one thing I will say is the food is good but not worth the poor service

Called early in the day for a larger party. Got there and table was prepped and ready to go. Great service, great food, Tons of drinks options. Sorry competitors.......you lose. Back again has it already been a year. Great to catch up and have a wonderful dinner. Just as good or better than last time. Onion soup was bomb. Apps delish. Took home two bags to re-heat later. A great dining experience. Their onion rings are ridiculous, and worth the money. Bring your appetite, though. EVERYTHING is big there. Their burgers are exceptional and the rustic atmosphere is comforting. The seasoning of the food is where their chef excels. Expertly done describes that - not too much, just right.

Customers Beware! Went there for dinner last night and one of my friends is having some dietary issues and just wanted a grilled cheese sandwich and our waitress Heather said that they only make grilled cheese for kids and if she had one made for her it would be 13.00! She was very rude about it! How ridiculous! Asked for the manager and she said she was the manager. Management is VERY lacking and obviously does not care about there customers! Will not be returning!

Decided to pop into Hofbrau based on Trip Advisor/ Google reviews for dinner. My macaroni and cheese tasted bad and I hardly touched my meal. I expressed my concerns to the waitress and she could only offer the seafood macaroni as a substitute. Would not go there again - food was not good and management is lacking. The manager never came out to our table to inquire about the food. Highly disappointed

Loved the atmosphere. I had the nachos and it reminded me of what my friend whipped up in the microwave when I was a kid. My wife had the salmon and we both ended up eating more of our kids French fries rather than what we ordered. Should also make sure the price on the menu is the same on the receipt, we didn’t mention it anymore before we left because we were in a hurry.

Their Sunday brunch is what made them special. It used to be $15 a plate, however that's recently jumped to $20. That's more than any meal I had the week prior in San Francisco. Massive price increase, with no improvement to the food (just rearranged the layout). $20 gets you a great quality meal at Boones LLI. Been doing Hofbrau's brunch for a long time, hate to say I won't be going back.

Long wait. The side of the table had tons of jam on it, wasn’t cleaned well. For the wait, the food was alright. Nothing special. It was pretty average. DO NOT EAT THE DESERT! It will make you gag. brunch was pretty good. I’ve had better. the service was HORRIBLE! The employees were rude and didn’t care about anything. The best thing about this place was the coffee, sadly.

Great food, brew and service! Last night was my second time being there and we got the same server as last time. I think her name is Tanya and she's funny with a quick wit, very attentive and fast to get the drinks and other things we needed. Personally, I like going to a place where the staff is cool and laid back enough to joke around with. I had the burger with the fixings and it was very good! The rest of my family and friends had various things from the menu and it all looked very yummy! I would definitely recommend this place to go check out. They have a lot of different local Michigan brews on tap available to try. In fact, their beer and drinks menu is a double-sided page with descriptions and they give a sample for a quarter of you wanna try something.

Came in for Easter Brunch. Got here around 1000 and it was full but no wait. By the time we left there was a line. Amazing choices from breakfast to lunch and lots of deserts. Friendly staff and met the owner who was waking around checking on the food and service.

My husband loved their beer selection which gets changed out frequently. Kay was our server, and she was wonderful: very timely with everything and made a point of talking to our little guy also. I expected so much more from this place! The food was alright, the service was alright. The food looked better than it tasted! The seafood mac only had shrimp it in (it was missing the other seafood) and it was quite bland. The stuffed chicken was a little better. It was on a Tuesday so it was half off but I wouldn’t have paid more than that for the food. The pumpkin cheesecake was decent. The best thing about this place is the awesome craft beer selection on draft.

Strike 2!!! Last weekend we had decent service inside but the take home was a joke. We ordered haystacks to go and got em home and there wasnt even enough to put on a sandwich .when ordered inhouse they are in a huge basket so I thought it would have been a decent amount to take home..sad.and now tonight we just walked out without eating or even have a drink order taken after sitting for 20 min...as we left there were 2 employees just sitting visiting as we walked passed the window...idk if brian is giving the reins to the kids or what's happening but we have been coming here for years.

It's an Interlochen institution! Quite literally. My great-grandfather founded it as a general store, and later turned it into a tavern. A number of the music legends of the 1930s and 40s would eat at the Hofbrau after performances at the National Music Camp (now the Interlochen Center of the Arts) and the tradition of people having lunch and dinner before and after visits to the camp continues today. An upscale menu offering something for everyone - from light to hearty - and with portions sizeable enough that even the salad entrees often require a take-home box! A wide selection of craft beers is perfect for watching sports with friends around the bar area, and the homey, rustic knotty pine ambience of the restaurant makes for a comfortable & relaxing time for any family dinner out. And if you look at the framed B&W photos on the wall in the dining area on the right side of the restaurant, you can see my great-grandfather and how the original tavern looked back in his day! The family that owns the restaurant now takes just as good care of it and their customers as my family did all those decades ago, and I know you will enjoy your time at the Hofbrau just as much as I do.

A solid choice. There are only a few options in the immediate area and this is one of the better ones. While you might expect German food given the name of the place, they are strictly pub grub and steakhouse. The chef can get creative with specials, which I encourage given the lack of local options. The boulibase, however, kept is away for a few months.

What a delightful place. Comfortable atmosphere. Plenty of screens to watch the games. Tons of beer selection and a tap that dispenses unlimited margaritas! The food was fantastic. The whitefish dinner was superb. It was brought to us by Jodi and it was too hot to eat right away. Now that is fresh. The sides were perfect. The 6oz filet was prepared perfect. I heard the owner works in the kitchen and it shows. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

We took our daughter out for a celebration dinner. We were here 4 years or so ago and food and service was amazing. However, that was not our experience this evening. We started with 2 appetizers. We had the mozzarella sticks which were good. We also had the calamari which was over cooked and didn’t have much flavor. The server didn’t come back to check on us for well over 15 minutes and she didn’t ask how the appetizers were. Then the entrees came. My daughter had prime rib and crab legs and her meal was great. I ordered the baked stuffed chicken and it wasn’t that great. My husband had the Alfredo which was god awful! The waitress stopped to ask how everything was. By then we had just shared my chicken because that was the better of the two meals. She did take the Alfredo off the meal which was nice. We sat at a table near the bathrooms. I noticed two cooks on two different occasions come use the restroom. The first one had a kitchen towel half stuck in his pocket (gross, kitchen towels need to be left out of the bathroom)! The second cook walked into the bathroom with his apron on....no no no...take your apron off before entering the restroom! That is just gross. Between horrible service, terrible food and watching cooks walk into the restroom with hand towels and aprons....we won’t be back!

Everytime the service was bad and I have never gotten bread there until the last time. The bread was really a joke, what they served us and called a "loaf" was 5 tiny medallion pieces of bread to a table of four. When we asked for more bread while waiting for all our meals the waitress said " we only serve 1 loaf of bread per table and it would be a dollar for every loaf". Absolutely ridiculous considering We already ordered alot of money's worth of food, I don't believe any of us will go back there again.

Now this place is the place to go on Sundays between the hours of 11 and 2. Where they feature their Sunday brunch packed with lots and lots delicious food and goodies from their omelet bar where they make their omelettes right there in front of you you pick what goes inside of it, to the prime rib, the waffle bar chocolate or plain. were you load it with strawberries and whipped topping, don't forget the other side of the room where they serve anything from eggs sausage chicken potatoes biscuits Meats just depends on what they have I guess before you go check out the dessert table chocolate covered strawberries cakes candies fresh fruits

The Sunday Brunch is the absolute best. Omelette station with all the best ingredients. Carving table with prime rib cooked to perfection. Hot entrees with homemade mashed potatoes and delicious tender meat balls and fresh baked bread. Desserts that rival your favorite bakery. Clearly the best brunch buffet you could find.

Our waitress / manager was rude and just acted like she couldn't be bothered. The food was so so. A request for something for someone with dietary needs was met with I could make that but it will be really expensive. $14-15 (for a grill cheese sandwich). Lets just say she ended up with a baked potato (a really small one) They don't give you a straw you have to ask for it, ok, but then she brings this glass of straws unwrapped (cocktail straws) which we can grab one from. Hmmm so how many people have touched the straw I am about to use. Also my burger actually came in a basket. A wicker basket, with nothing more that a piece of paper under my food. How do they clean that kind of basket?My food is still touching it, even with this sheet of paper under it. Shame this used to be a really nice atmosphere and restaurant. We won't be returning. (I guess we should have check the latest reviews before we went.

I used to come here occasionally for brunch. My children and I went for father's day brunch this year. We were not impressed. Way over charged for a selection that has shrunk just a little.
