I am disappointed with my delivery order today - first time it's been this bad from Evergreen (and we regularly order all the time). Got sesame beef, jalapeno intestines, salt and pepper calamari. The salt and pepper calamari was soggy and had a really odd tempura batter. Normally it comes in batter that's light and crispy and tubelike. There were weird clumps of batter and I could not taste any salt/pepper/spices at all. Sesame beef was also quite tough and, also soggy. The intestine chunks were huge and not as flavorful as they usually were. Not sure what changed since the last time I've gone but I'm not sure I will order again, especially for the price, I expected more from Evergreen.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Ann Arbor. Great food and environment. I go there almost weekly for lunch or dinner and have never been disappointed. If you are not a Chinese and don't know what to order from the authentic Chinese menu, I'd highly recommend the "green beans with pork" and "Taiwanese style chicken". I've ordered them many times for my non-Chinese friends, I've never seen anyone who don't like them.

The chopped pepper fish is mind blowing! Everything is really fresh and delicious. The waitstaff are helpful and kind as well. I totally recommend going with a large group and sharing all the dishes family style. It’s like a gourmet Chinese buffet!

Went on Chinese New Year with a reservation. Waited around 20 minutes to get water and 40-45 minutes for food. It is a good experince however when it isn't very busy. Quality food.

Went here for dinner with friends. One dish we ordered came out very salty so we asked for a bowl of rice to offset the saltiness. The waitress took the bill back to adjust for $1 extra charge for a bowl of rice and made us wait another 30 min. to get the bill back!!! When we asked to talked to the owner about this absurdity, she actually apologized saying it's because they were short of staff. Really?? If they were really short on staff, they have time to take the bill back just to add $1 extra charge for a freaking bowl of rice we asked for because the dish came out too saltly!!! This is a classic example of "bad" customer service and poorly trained staff!!! Penny wise, Dollar foolish!!

Water boiled fish had small portions of fish and was full of oil. The beef was extremely chewy, oily, and difficult to swallow. Portions were small for the price and food was low quality. Waitress didn't know the menu.

This was my go to place for Chinese, but in recent years the food has been more "meh"...don't know what happened but it seems like things aren't cooked fresh and kept in the back on a buffet serving area. I hope they can be like they used to be because their style of cooking is my favorite since Forbidden City left the area.

I've been coming here for many years (since it was Evergreen many years ago), but I have not visited the place in the last 5 or 6 years. Invited a friend to have dinner there because it's is close to his home. To my surprised, it is bigger, modern decor and great ambience including staffs. I found out it was renovated 2 years ago. Food is excellent, not greasy and ample serving (keep it that way). Only wish the small soup selections has more variety instead of the typical Chinese restaurants "hot and sour, egg drop and wonton soup". I was just in Asia and there are abundant soups that can be introduce in this country as well as appetizers.

It is certainly one of the best Chinese restaurants in Ann Arbor. The atmosphere is very nice, although it is a bit loud. It's lively and the food is well prepared. They offer American Chinese standards as well as a traditional menu that features offbeat items for more adventurous diners. If you want something different, try the Lamb with Broth and Hand Cut Noodles.

This was the first Chinese restaurant I visited in Ann Arbor and still one of my favorites. They have a wiiiddeeee ( see how wide ?) selection of dishes you can choose from. Earlier they used to have a Chinese menu and an English menu but I think they have combined it now. That is good because the Chinese menu had the more authentic and interesting dishes!

Excellent food. Could not have had a better experience. I can't speak to in person dining because I got delivery but the food was amazing. Xiaolongbao was great and probably the best I've been able to find in Michigan, hot pepper chicken (cc4) was absolutely amazing. Not too salty, not too oily, nice and spicy but extremely tasty - I loved it. Great choice for delivery, 11/10 will order again.

Evergreen is one of my favorite restaurant. I have been coming to Evergreen for years and ordered the exact same menu. However, tonight I saw that we got charged more than usual. When asked the cashier were not able to explain it clearly and it seems that from what she said they increased the price for their dry hot pot (I am honestly not so sure either, she could not communicate it very clearly) but they did not change the price on their menu yet. So disappointed

Ordered veggie kung Pao and they made chicken. They said they'd make me veggie and bring it right out. Everyone ate, and food never came. Finally got a to go box of flavorless vegetables after the check came because I told the server I never got my food. Bad service. Bland food. Don't bother.

I was a loyal customer of Evergreen and spent at least a thousand dollars here in the past, but my recent experiences at Evergreen restaurant were completely disappointing and disgusting! 1. They might serve you cold dishes that were not microwaved long enough. I ordered Tofu there today, and it was a just cold and gross dish. 2. They might put a higher priority on their white customers! I was waiting for my food for like 40 minutes or longer, but two tables of white customers who came later than I did all got food before me, which appeared to be very interesting! 3. I usually tip 20-25%, but what I tip didn’t get a nice service but indifference and ignorance in return sometimes! Evergreen is a well-decorated place where is full of disgusting services, racisms, and microwaved food! I personally will never ever come back again, period! I am a student at the UofM and I promise what i said is out of a genuine perspective from a customer!

I ordered two 夫妻肺片, that is actually sliced beef, altogether $21.18. The taste is not bad. The amount is less. After a few hours, I got a pain in my stomach and had to sit in the toilet for an hour. Never want to go back again.

Great food, but pitiful portion sizes and increasing nickel-and-diming tactics. Lunches used to include a salad, soup, tea and a generous portion of food, which has shrunk to small plate size with the price going up and all other additions being removed. I leave hungry unless I purchase a bunch of additional appetizers and add-ons. Hit up Umi Sushi instead - more expensive, but with much more generous portions. If just eating cheaply is what you're looking for, Evergreen might be okay. I'd rather leave not feeling like I need to stop at the grocery store afterwards. All this said, I'd come back in a heartbeat if they were priced competitively with similar options and offered what they used to. For what you get, it's just not worth it for me anymore.

Great cafe. so many unique options for breakfast and brunch. The chicken fried steak gravy was AMAZING. They can get super busy but that does not show on the the staff's faces. You can tell they all work as a team. Will definitely be back.

They were very busy, so the service and food was slow. I was hoping that the food would have been worth that wait, it was not. The orange chicken didn't taste like orange except for the big chunks of orange rind, which were not appetizing. And the breaded chicken was soggy and overcooked. I did enjoy the rice, tea and mixed veggies.

This restaurant has excellent food and flavor. Food is fresh. It is pricey, considering the portion sizes. Side items such as rice and fried rice are also pricey in consideration of the prices paid. If price to portion sizes are not a significant consideration for you, I would recommend this as a 5 star choice for you.

As I ate my egg drop soup at dinner their last night a house fly began to emerge. I showed it to the waitress, she saw the fly and was as grossed out as our party of four was. She took the bowl to show the manager and asked if I wanted another cup of egg drop soup. I said no way considering the fly was obviously cooked into the entire pot of soup (duh!). To add more insult, the manager offered nothing ... NOTHING ... of a discount for my meal or any of the bill. By the way, know upfront if you order coffee it is made from k-cups, so no re-fills. They charge for each cup of coffee. With social media what it is today it seems ridiculous to let a customer leave to risk the customer posting a real story like this online. Sad but true. Since last night I have shared this with other friends who will never go back to Evergreen.

Grossly over priced. The egg roll is the smallest I have ever seen. The lunch combo taste old very old. I can taste the refrigerator flavor in my food. Never again Never again. I wish I had the thanos glove I would snap evergreen out of existence!

The best Chinese food in town, period. Evergreen got all sorts of Chinese food to select from, and most of them are authentic and tasty. If you are not sure, simply try the Kong Bao chicken and you will notice the difference. The place is also spacious and furnished nicely, which makes it a decent place for dinner party. Five star!

Evergreen is a pretty decent Chinese restaurant that makes a lot of reasonably authentic dishes. Their American-Chinese food is a joke, just like any other "Chinese" restaurant that serves the standards like kung pao chicken and Mongolian beef. But if you know what to look for (or go in there with a Chinese person who can speak in Mandarin on your behalf), you'll find their best dishes with the best flavors.

I came for lunch the food was ok but the hot n sour soup was served at room temperature not hot at all when I asked the server sherry that kindly inform the chef that my soup was not hot at all so she said no problem then my soup bowl was gone and never came back again I just paid my bill and came out

Visiting friends who took me to Evergreen. We had 3 different dishes. The waitress brought us what we needed quickly. I would give 5 stars but the waitress never checked to see if I needed a refill or if we wanted anything else. Additionally, I am used to having more sauce (general tso etc) but all the dishes were served on plates with little sauce or gravy. Otherwise, the food was delicious. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Fried rice is completely inedible. It either sat out for hours, or was undercooked. Tried to reheat, but didnt work. Had to throw it out. General tsos is subpar. 25 dollars for an entered and an apatizer (and delivery fee+tip). NEVER going here in person, and certainly not having any delivered again.

The restaurant was packed when we arrived. Things went downhill from there. Long after we were seated, we were wondering if any server was assigned to our table. Other parties around us were being served but those servers kept passing our table. Finally, we went to the front desk to ask for a server. Our server arrived shortly afterwards and was quite pleasant. However, she must have been assigned to a different section because she didn’t check on us after bringing our food. By the time she came back to see if everything was okay, it was time for us to ask for our check. The entrees we ordered ranged from so-so to not-bad. The salt and pepper jumbo shrimp was not fresh and the shells stuck fast to the meat. The black pepper short ribs were extremely tough—tough to chew and even tough to cut with a knife. Prices were comparable to other similar restaurants but portion sizes were significantly smaller. Four of us (two adults and two kids) ordered five entrees (with extra rice) and we finished every bit of food. When we go other similar restaurants (like T.K. Wu, downtown), we always have leftovers to take home. We would come back to Evergreen, but at $24 a head without drinks, it won’t be our first choice.

The food is ok, but their online and carry out menus are wrong, they are aware of it but haven't fixed them yet. Only found out last night; what was ordered didn't match what was handed to me (even though I was specific when i placed the order), so the second entree had to be remade. I was offered nothing in the form of a discount or apology from the manager. When I got home, the entree that had to be re-done had no vegetables in it whatsoever, even though it appeared that way on the menu. I suggest either eating in or only ordering from their restaurant menu (not on line or even their printed carry out menu)
