REVIEWS OF Everest Sherpa Restaurant IN Michigan

Steve Rowe

Great food, inspiring backstory, unusual Nepalese menu choices make this a must try. This is my go-to restaurant for curry because I don't have to go into downtown Ann Arbor for it. It is a little pricey, so I only indulge once a month or so. All their carry out containers are non plastic recyclable paper fiber, and refreshingly they use paper bags.

Anupama Sharma

You must try their veggie Momo, which is essentially dumplings. Everything tastes so good and the staff is nice too.

siddharth Subramaniam

Buddy recommended this place. Great anbience, perfect place for lunch or dinner. Staff is very polite and helpful, you can look to them for recommendations if needed. Wait time is usually 20-30 mins. Food is full of taste and authentic. Starters are a good option given they arrive in a few mins and will keep you company till the main course.

shafali sareen

Service was okay..We ordered vegetarian curries and both curries tasted similar..Naan was not cooked properly and when we tried to tell waitress there, she replied that's how we serve it , this is Tandorri Naan..I cant say anything more than that..Never though someone can come up like this excuse for uncooked Naan..Won't be returning for sure!

Jim Daniels

Tasty food. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced.

Jim Kingsnorth

Great food, great service

Ethan Madison

Among my top 3 restaurants in Ann Arbor—undoubtedly top tier, and possibly the best restaurant in the city. Not only is the cuisine unique in the Midwest, but the dishes here have a home-made feel to them and are all delicious. The prices are fair and portions are generous. If you're thinking about getting Indian food, don't—you'll be disappointed in Ann Arbor. Come to Everest Sherpa instead for a unique dining experience with better food.

Rachel Massey

By far favorite casual dining in A2

James Spence

Wonderful decor, very pleasant staff, and great food. A bit of a hidden gem outside of downtown.

jeffmd00

Great food. Reasonably priced.

Justin Matter

Such a fantastic addition to Ann Arbor's restaurant offerings! Nepalese and Himalayan cuisine is delicious - hard to describe but definitely influenced by Indian, Chinese, and other east Asian cooking. Menu includes familiar Indian dishes like vindaloo and tandoori, but go a little further and try the polayko with some Tibetan bread, you won't be disappointed. Get here before the crowds find out, this place is going to be big!

Linda Khan

A wonderful fusion of culture. I really enjoyed the briyani and the potstickers

Higgie Foog

Service was good, food was great except the very tough lamb in my saag. I would go back but I would not order lamb again

Gary Ibershoff

A real find, great food, quick service, if you like international cuisine , don't miss this place. Five stars for the Everest obsessed too!

David levitsky

Phenomenal food lovely environment will become a regular

brad warmbier

I've had vegetable and chicken (steamed) momo's and chicken or lamb saag and all were excellent.

Jan Gibes

Great food, good service.

Priyashree Roy

Food arrived on time and had excellent flavor. This is my new favorite restaurant!

Rob Young

Great food, nice atmosphere.

Bo Gul

The lunch special was the blandest food I've tasted in years. I kept thinking of gerbers baby food. Maybe some salt would have given a taste.

Michele Pietrzak

What a wonderful surprise! Not only is the food delicious and satisfying, the atmosphere is lovely. Whenever we try an new little place, independently owned and tucked away as this one is, there is the process of preparing yourself for good food, but maybe a less than beautiful setting. Walking into Everest Sherpa you are greeted with bright and cheery furnishings and many treasures from the Himalayan region. It’s beautiful. And clean. And everyone that served us was very kind and friendly. It’s our new favorite place!

Colleen Crouch

Amazing food and really cool story about owners

Walter Shwayder IDSA

Excellent food, pleasant folks. It is nice being someplace different!!

Sasha Jones

The wait is long but, the food is great

Roger Curtis

Great service. Great food. Incredibly tasty. Cool atmosphere. Will return many times.

Linda Claire Groshans

I love this place! A wonderful atmosphere and delicious food. Very friendly for gluten free with a menu that clearly identifies GF options

Udit Sharma

I have been to Everest Sherpa several times in the past 5-6 months. However, the last time I visited (January 18, 2019) I was disappointed by the quality and the taste of food. The breads were doughy and the main dishes didn't taste as good as before. I understand that it may be because of the Friday rush. I recommend people not to visit this place during rush hours.

R L

Delicious mango lassi, naan and fry bread, and rice pudding is divine. Never had anything less than tasty here! Fast service and free parking - not much to complain about!

Tiffany Marra

Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food. The taste is similar to Indian food with a slightly different flavor. Many familiar items: saag paneer, nana, rice, lentils, etc. The lunch special was very reasonable, filling and includes chai tea. Overall great first experience. Easy place to have a conversation with a friend. I will definitely be back!

Rajesh Bilaney

Awesome place! Very cozy ambiance. Excellent food. The momos were awesome. Saag Paneer n Naan bread excellent!

Abhijeet Narwal

Very good, perfectly cooked food. Great authentic flavours. Nothing better than their Veg and Chicken Momos. Those are the best thing. Get the extra spicy sauce if u are into hot stuff. Its authentic and best. If u want to dine, reserve a table or go early at evenings its sometime full so u have to wait. In the Michigan winter do try the momos. They will take away the cold.

Leo D

Awesome food; my company just moved to AA area and we had cater in for a big event. Every single person from LA, OH, loved the food. Thank you. It will be our go to spot from now on.

Carolyn Christopher

Excellent food, great service brought to its patrons in an attractive and pleasing environment.

Joe S.

Excellent food, friendly service. Sometimes you can wait a while for your food but they've gotten much better since they first opened.

Rick Crayne

Really tasty food and nice ambience. Will definitely go back. Try the lunch special. It's like a food tour for about $12.

Anuj Rathi

A great place to have spicy momos!

Sagar Sharma

They have good momos. The style is slightly deviated from typical Nepalese, probably to match with the customers taste.

Austin Alexandre

Very kind staff. Food is well seasoned, tasty! An entree is large enough to serve 2. Definitely a reliable place to eat :-)

Goddess of Trauma

We went there for mothers day...it was really good. The spices are done well, and the rice is very high quality. The garlic naan is excellent, more substantial than at other restaurants. The atmosphere is calming and attractive. Staff are attentive but unobtrusive. We plan to return.

Michael Drew

Something new for lunch! Friendly staff and fast service. Nice decor too.

Anthony Woronec

Haven't found anything on the menu that wasnt good.

BHARGAVA SARIPALLI

Its a Nepali or Himalayan style of food if you haven't tried it yet. I would say its nice place with good ambiance but do not confuse it for an Indian cuisine if you are in for an authentic Indian food as the taste is not close enough to the authentic Indian curries. I personally liked the momos but only the steamed ones. Try them out.

Andrew Charron

My concerns of timeliness disappeared among the flavors delivered. To expound on the experience in detail upon arrival my party was promptly seated. Being famished and cold we ordered some naan bread and dumplings for which I do not recall the exact name, however the curry flavor of the sauce that complimented them was magical lack of a better word. I highly recommend this venue to others. :)

Lolly Mindel

My experiences at Everest Sherpa have been OUTSTANDING! I'm a vegetarian so I appreciate their selection of fresh vegetables. Food is fresh, vegetables not overcooked, especially the curry is seasoned to my preferences. The chia tea is mild and smooth, not overly sweet. The restaurant is painted in multiple colors that are cheerful and provide a beautiful accent to the decor, and the fabulous pictures of the region. The calming music is fitting for the region, played at a volume that compliments easy dinning conversation. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. Last but not least, the service is excellent, waitstaff are attentive. The people seem to enjoy their jobs. Oh and the parking is easy. I highly recommend Everest Sherpa.

Barry Ryder

Great ethnic food

Michael Anuzis

Everything is amazing here! Came in a group and shared 4 entrees, everyone was blown away by the superb quality of food, service, and ambiance. Highly recommend!

Bennet Samuel

Good food and ambiance

Sanket Phalgaonkar

Decently good Nepali food. Portions are generous for a single person and I can tell from experience, the good tastes 5X the next day.

Sam

The food the ambience and the staffs are great. If you love Nepalese food try them you won’t regret it.

Fredrick Molnar

Excellent Indian food

Stephanie Willey

Interesting cuisine. I really enjoyed it.

Patrick Broyer

Food, service, decor, prices all good. And beginning Oct first they'll have a lunch buffet.

Rachel Martindale

I can't speak to the restaurant's authenticity because I've never had authentic Nepalese food before, but we had a delicious meal. I particularly enjoyed the momos and the butayko--so flavorful and delicious.

Meguro Tokyo

A new place with excellent Nepalese dishes. Simple decor, great service, basic menu and sincerely good food. Pick mild, medium and spicy, rice & Nan, stews, curry, tea and lasi (try the mango lasi). Brilliant!

Ann G

Flavorful, large portion entrees served by friendly staff. Pictured below are the Sherpa Stew with lamb and Tikki Masala with chicken. Also ordered shrimp chili which was delicious.. All medium spice which delighted the taste buds!

Jessica McConnell

I travel to Ann Arbor occasionally for work and was dead set on trying this restaurant the moment I read its listing in the "international dining" section of a local rag. Love Indian food and have a special interest in Himalayan culture. Suffice it to say, I adored this restaurant more than I can express. Flavors were immaculate, decor and customer service was on POINT. Would be a great date night or girl's night location.

Amanda

Authentic Nepali cuisine and it is delicious. The restaurant is a cultural experience in itself. Do not pass by this hidden gem without a second look.

Trinoy Dutta

If you are a fan of original Tibetan Food this is not the place you should go. The Nepalese food was also not up to the standard. I have Nepalese friends who cook much better than them. They have put names like Lhasa Noodles and Thukpa in their menu which tastes like just noodles with A LOT (I mean A LOT) of curry powder. If you really want to enjoy the Indian food in their menu, I would definitely recommend an Indian Restaurant. The Tibetan food is nowhere close to Tibetan. On a positive note: the place is cozy.

Atima Goel

Went there for dinner, the chicken momos (steamed) were really good. The entrees were way too bad. The chicken butayko had over cooked pieces of chicken and just tasted of tomatoes. The chowmein was even worse, couldn’t even eat a quarter of it.

Nicholas Stauder

Amazing vegetarian food! The Masala paneer and Sherpa chai are especially good.

Ethan Gibb-Randall

Really great food. Good if you want some amazing himilayan style meals

Derek Dang

One of the more unique dining experiences in the Ann Arbor area! We got the momos, the thukpa, and the chicken butayko. All were very good, but the chicken momos stole the show with their simplicity and flavor. I also really liked the way they flavored their rice with fennel and other spices. Don't come here and get the usual Indian food, try something new.

Eric Preissner

Wow. Great food! Excellent spices Attentive service. Nice decor of the Himalayas and Tibet.

Katherine Beydler

Got carryout for dinner. They made it promptly and the food was delicious! They honored my request for no cilantro, which many restaurants do not. I will be back!

Aaron Pressel

Very good food. I really liked the naan. Ordered takeout and they forgot two items though. It is a little bit pricey for lunch as well, but the quality is excellent, so no reason to complain.

Aakash Sapre

I get takeout for my company and they consistently deliver high quality food in convenient packing. A little pricey, but it's worth it until they let me down.

Jaideep Singh

Zero courtesy. I called to order food and my call got disconnected in the middle of conversation. I tried calling back and they stopped responding. I left three messages no one called. If you guys don’t wanna take orders or have the courage to speak to a customer kindly get your phone line disconnected.

Saloni Malla

I really liked chicken momo. It was perfect and authentic just like one you find in Nepal. The staffs were helpful and cordial. I absolutely recommend this place and especially chicken momo to try to.

Eden West

This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Ann Arbor. The food has diverse and amazing flavor, and the staff is always incredibly helpful.

Julie Schroeder

Great food choices if you are looking for something different but not too different.

William Whitmore

Food was excellent as always

Aashish Deshpande

Service okay Food unique

L Kumar

Just try chicken momos and kheer. Nothing else. Nothing

Dave Smith

Great find in an old shopping plaza. The food was fresh and service was spot on. Had the lunch special (a little of everything) which was fantastic. The did a great job creating a comfortable atmosphere and have a full bar.

Sher Magar

I was here while attend game. I have been many Nepalese Asian restaurants and I found this one is hi-tech, more organized. Can’t complain anything

Dave Tomczyk

Very disappointing. Went to Everest Sherpa a few times for take out and the food was amazing, then they started serving alcohol and it quickly became one of my top three Ann Arbor restaurants! Last time we went they said they no longer serve beer. Bad decision. Very disappointing. We left. It's like they're saying they no longer care to service one sector of customers. At least there's still Shalimar downtown where I can drink a beer while enjoying the cuisine from the same region of the world.

Laurie White

The food is wonderful, the atmosphere lovely and serene, and the staff welcoming and considerate. This place is a real gem! (I dream about their momos!).

Tom Bellinson

Mmmmomos! I just had the momos, but that was enough. They were a delicious Nepalese version of a pot sticker. Some other people, who appeared to be from the region, had some really good looking food. I will be back with a bigger appetite next time.

Diogo B. Almeida

Excellent lunch specials for a good price!

Matthew Weasel Jr.

I think that this place is excellent! Definitely worth going to if you are looking for some good food. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan. Best I've had in the area.

Mishka Sajjadi

Their chicken momos are delicious, especially with their special dipping sauce. And LOVE the fact that their makhni is thickened with ground cashews instead of corn starch, really takes flavor to the next level. Also had the lamb saag and usually not a fan of saag because I think it’s typically on the bland side, at least from other places I’ve been to, but it was great as well!

Mich Igan

Well, this was our first visit and we're already looking forward to coming back! We started with the vegetable momo (dumplings) - they were handmade and fresh and delicious! The main entrees were large portions and tasty. We both had medium spicy dishes and felt they were slightly spicier than advertised. Wine is $5 a glass. You should stretch your culinary curiosity and give this Sherpa/Nepali/Indian cuisine a try!

Arthur Talbot

Excellent variety of Himalayan regional favorites in both vegan, vegetarian and non-vegan options. Suggest giving it at try at lunch with the daily special and Sherpa Chai. May be a small wait at dinner but certainly reasonable and worth it. Great value and authentic cuisine.

surya ram

Love momos?? Sherpa is the place... amazing food

K Singh

This is easily one of the best desi restaurants in southeast Michigan. In a word, it is an unpretentious place with an eye for great flavor and value. The variety--North Indian staples, Sherpa, and Nepali khas cuisine--is hard to beat and the cuisines complement each other well on your table. The momos (veggie or chicken dumplings with Indian spices) are a must. They could use more varieties of achar (chutney), but otherwise a great addition to your meal. I will definitely be coming back!

Ms. Anonymous

The food and service from my waiter was OK... However, when I took my bill to the cashier and gave her a $5.00 off coupon (as the coupon instructed me to do), I got a distinct vibe change in the way that I felt valued as a customer -- based upon the cashier's interaction with me once I gave her the coupon, it appeared as though my business was MUCH less appreciated since I was now receiving a discount. The coupon is what initially brought me in (I didn't know that this restaurant even existed until I received it), but now I won't ever return because of what happened at the end of the visit!!! You really need to work on your customer service skills and make ALL customer feel truly appreciated!!!!!!

NiQuesha Grisham

I can taste the Lamb Butayko now...

robert broecker

I love the food good service .

ARANTXA BOBY

Love the momos, pulyako and thukpa!

Andy Block

Similar but not identical to Indian food. Everything I've had here was excellent.

Eric Cooper

I enjoy this place every time I go. Fair prices. Flavorful food. A nice option on the SW side of town. Yum!

Gillian Garson

Delicious! And kind, quick service. Also, the serve alcohol, we couldnt see that from their website. Thumbs up!

Rohit Uttam

Very good food and great taste. I visited twice and the service is pretty good and fast. They are very nice and mindful of your needs. The breads including nan is the best here. You may want to try their steamed momos which are very soft and tasty, served with a sauce.

Vivek Iyer

Okay this place is by far the best Nepalese/Indian/Pakistani food I have had in Ann Arbor. The curries are very fragrant, tasty and made fresh ( almost like homemade), which is something rare in Indian cuisine I've seen in my experience. The momos were great as well. The owner and the staff are really hospitable and nice.

Francie Kivel

Went on a Sat night a 630pm with a party of 6. Service was fantastic and food was amazing. Decor is gorgeous and prices very reasonable. Liquor license coming soon. My first visit to this hidden gem - we all plan to be back!

Audrey Gv

Just ate at this restaurant today. The food was delicious and the service was superb. I will be going back soon. Definitely recommend.

Sherle Abramson-Bluhm

Great food. Wonderful atmosphere. Excellent service. Will definitely return.

Kathiravan Natarajan

I am going there once in a week. It's a good restaurant to try Nepali/Indian dishes

Anna Turosky

Amazing naan, delicious pakora, and such nice service.

Aj Rave

Really enjoyed it. Trying to expand my eating. I would recommend.

Jennifer Lai

The food here is always tasty, full of complex flavors. Very filling so enjoy slowly. Ambiance is also nice, clean and cozy. Fast and friendly service. Really enjoy the butayko, mutter paneer, and pakoras.

David Diaz

One of the best food I eat my life. Very delicate and delicious food. Specially the Indian food. The service is great. You have food from Tibet, India and Nepal. The price is great. My wife love it. Very good decorations. Very good parking and free. I highly recommend to anybody. Very good vegetarian food. Great momos.

Monica Stevenson

Best food, great prices.

deepu philip

Food and ambience is good. Fried momos were a real treat.

Mihir Pyakuryal

Best Nepalese cusine in town

Valentina Ehlen

Fantastic Himalayan /Tibetan /Nepalese food and great service! Highly Recommend this place! Cant wait to go back ❤

Lamar Dimitry

I can't speak on the authenticity of the place because I myself am not from Nepal - but the waitresses are! The food was awesome and the service was fantastic. I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was very inviting for a quick lunch.

Rajan

Last year (2018) the food was good and fresh. But this year I felt the momo's were not as good. Other food were ok I guess.

Brandon Dunny

A taste of another world as if you have gone to the himalayas and stumbled upon a local meal in the mountains. I ordered a sherpa chai tea and me and my girlfriend shared a vegetable pakora. She ordered the vegetable tikka masala and I ordered the chicken tikka masala that was served with stemmed rice. We paired that with the hearty naan bread. We had a wonderful dining experience.

Kosta El Greco

Very good food, but a little too expensive.

Pamela Lantrip

It's hidden in a corner of a shopping mall - you wouldn't know it was there if you weren't looking for it. They have a great menu - several types of cuisine are offered. I had never had Nepalese food before I ate here and I'm hooked. Allow extra time for your meal - everything is fresh, made to order, and their Dal is terrific. I keep going back because I want to try everything!

Richard Pence

Very good Indian food. Also nice,to have a quality Indian buffet in Ann Arbor that you don't have to downtown to.

Jordan Bird

Wonderful staff with fast service. The food comes out quickly. The food is absolutely amazing! I would say one of the top restaurants in Ann Arbor, MI. Definitely recommend for people to try. Been there at least 5 times.

Sarah Stump

Delicious food at a great price, I like the fact that they have options that aren't just like Indian food restaurants but there is some overlap. Plenty of vegetarian options here as well. Haven't tried the lunch special, but I have been here for dinner twice now. Absolutely no complaints about the food either time.

Cassandra Meyer

One of my favorite restaurants! We found this place last year when we moved to the area by passing it on the way to Target. My fiancé and I get carry out about every other week. I haven’t ever had the experience of bland food that a few other reviewers have, I’ve always been served delicious, flavorful dishes. I usually get the vegetable pakora and aloo cauli, chicken tikka masala, or chicken makhani. Their naan is the bomb too. My fiancé tried the lamb polayko the other night and loved it. Oh and the staff is super nice too. An Ann Arbor gem.

Caitlin Geier

Fast service, delicious food, and lots of leftovers. Just what I wanted out of an Indian restaurant. :) The space is also nice.

Ashley White

The vegetable pakora and steamed chicken Momo are delicious! The garlic naan is very tasty. Staff were helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant as well. I'm definitely eating here again.

Michelle Robbins

Literally one of my favorite places to take people to eat in Ann Arbor. The location is ideal for me as I don't always like to be downtown A2. And as someone who has a family full of veggies, they have TONS of delicious apptz and entrees that appease the veggie soul. They'll give you couple chutnis including mint - my favorite but raita is an additional cost.

Daniel Quevedo

Delicious food! We came here for lunch and had their lunch special. It’s a very big portion, and all the food is great! The naan is delicious, I liked the chai (not too sweet!) and the spice level is nice, if a bit on the mild side. For the price, it’s an excellent, large lunch that will keep us full for the rest of the day. I’ll definitely be coming back with my friends and family.

Alison Knapp

Never had Nepalese cuisine before, but I'm vegetarian and I love Indian food, so I figured this would be right up my alley. Plus some friends were raving about it. Yep, everything was delicious!

Saurav Shrestha

I would rate 5.0 for MoMo. I give 4.0 stars for clean place, great service. But other foods are not as tasty as it should be! Hope they will improve along the time.

Seth Neeley

Really neat place with some great food. I was surprised there were lunch specials even on the weekend. My wife and I got the thali sets and they were really good. It was a nice variety and a way to try several dishes. I'd like to return to try the curries sometime!

Linda Egan

On a recent trip to Ann Arbor, I sought out this restaurant as it was recommended to me by a friend in Florida. We were so glad we did. The food, decor, and service were just great. Pictures of their Mt.Everest hike and some of the clothes and equipment are on display. The Sherpa stew (we had both the lamb and the chicken) was beyond delicious. My nephew ordered the butayko and ordered it hot. He loved it. I would absolutely return and if I lived there it would be a favorite dine in or carry out place.

Nicholas Lamb

Hot chai is great here. The garlic naan seemed a bit underdone but it was still very good. Lamb in the makhani was tender but not falling apart and the sauce was delightful! Will be back soon!

Curt Coulter

Food was delicious, service is a little impersonal

Elizabeth N

Excellent food with big portions, most dishes can be easily shared by two people

Sam Arutyunyan

Very decent food. Nice staff. Would be nice if they cleared empty plates.

Spencer Burt

This place is a gem! Good food low prices and super tasty. Make sure to get the Momos, they are heavenly. It is wonderful to have an Indian food restaurant so much closer to Saline.

Prasanth Ganesan

Very delicious food! Felt wholesome and didnt feel overstuffed and gross after eating. Careful asking for very spicy though, they dont hold back. Lots of vegetarian and gluten free options!

Raymond Digby

Great place in Ann Arbor to experience Nepali and Tibetan food

barry matthews

Food is wonderful. Great vegetarian choices.

Suhail Bilbeisi

There people here are so friendly, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is nice if you choose to dine in. Would definitely recommend it!

Desmond Mathiasz

I’m typing as I enjoy this delicious plate of food. Definitely my favorite Nepalese/Tibetan restaurant so far. Friendly staff and great atmosphere

Hamilton trash

I am very picky and even I thought that the food was great.

Connor

Incredible atmosphere with a lot of unique food! The owners have an amazing story, and they do a fantastic job of bringing in a diversity of dishes, many of which you will not find at a more traditional Indian restaurant. Plenty of vegan options, too

Stephen Richards

Had good meals before for sure, but tonight messed up both our to go orders completely, had to drive back to inspect our claims and would only replace food if pay again.. done!.. oh yeah, they also admitted to blocking my wife's number after complaints!

Carol Del Signore

A great dining experience. Service was good and the food delicious. You could order the amount of spicy heat for your dish, which I always like.

Devin Foether

I'd give it 6 stars if I could

Anthony Smith

Been a few times now since they opened, and the food has been fantastic. Whether eating in or carrying out, you'll find yourself pleased by their cuisine inspired by Nepal.

Jeff McCabe

Just went for the first time after a friend suggested it from a google search. Really enjoyed the flavorful food and the friendly service. Fun, interesting atmosphere. A new favorite in an otherwise boring strip mall milieu.

Arun Sarathy

Extremely tasty food with a great service attitude. The employees there were of great service, serving always with a smile. Not to forget, this is one of the few restaurants that offer authentic vegetarian dishes that are simply delicious! If you are in Ann Arbor and are seeking some veg dishes, just go here. Satisfaction guaranteed!

Minds Eye

UPDATE: these people have lost my trust. We recently picked up an order to-go. I am very militant about checking my receipts and such. I came back home and looked at my email for the Square app receipt I usually get when I pay Everest. I was shocked to see that they had conveniently added a $10 tip to my to go order and processed the same. The nerve on these people to try to pull off such a fraudulent thing. I might never go back here again as a matter of principle and ethics. Very shameful they did this to me. I called and yelled at them and they gave a very unconvincing explanation so to why that may have happened. I don’t buy it. They reversed the extra charge but they lost my trust. Shame on them. I urge everyone to check their receipts with Everest going forward. PREVIOUS REVIEW: Tucked away in an odd deparessing strip mall is this incredible new Nepalese restaurant. The ambience is so chill and peaceful but most of all their food is incredible. We used to be fans of an Indian restaurant on the north side of Ann Arbor but their owner’s snootiness and the overall server attitude had us looking for a new better option. And we’re so glad we stumbled upon this place. Their food right from the dal soup to tandoori chicken to paneer makhani is mind boggling. Their kheer is incredible too. I just wish their service was a tad bit warmer. The servers here seem to be a bit aloof and revenue bit absent minded or not bothered. But overall no complaints. Everest Sherpa is amazing and we highly recommend this place.

Traverse AA

How can you not love a place that is owned and operated by a couple from Nepal that summited Mt. Everest and got married there! The wife waited on us with a cheery disposition and her husband (who was a sherpa and climbed the mountain twice) served our food. Even if the food was fair, I would celebrate these people and their work/life ethic to no end with patronage. The food was great. The service was excellent. The restaurant was full.

Sarang Dalne

Ordered a take-out of steamed chicken momos, sag chicken and garlic naan. Momos were good but sag chicken was very bland. Naan was just too thick and inedible at certain places. All n all it was ok-ok food.

Matt Cyrulnik

I LOVE Indian food. Whether it’s north or south, I am a follower. I also take great passion in my own Indian cooking. Basically, I didn’t care for the food here. People were so nice and genuine. Service was great other than their refusal to remove empty plates. That was very unusual. We eventually had a pile but they didn’t seem to care. It might be that I don’t like himilayan food? Lacked full flavor and presentation. Just mediocre at best. So sorry. I loved the pictures though.

Michael Alexander

My wife and I wanted to try something different, and this fit the bill. The food is amazing and the service was great. We got the Momo's, which everyone seems to enjoy. They were right... The menu wasn't huge, but everything on it looked good. The medium heat was about perfect for us. It was enough to make your nose run, but only added to the flavor of the meal. Great experience, and one we will likely repeat.

Baini chand Rana

Very rude staff and not fully cooked food.

Ms. Naik

I found the food pretty tasteless. I ordered the saag and it has over cooked pieces of chicken (rubbery) and my friends did not enjoy their chicken Makhanis either. I like spicy food which they definitely had but it lacked the full flavor that you get with indian dishes like saag and makhani. Pakoras were very good though. Service was good and they seem like nice people. However, I was just not impressed with the food and I won’t going here again. I have only tried the indian dishes here and not tried any Himalayan cuisine which they specialize in.

Julie Colbath

Went about an hour before closing and not very busy. Service was helpful and nice, but could have come around more often. Ordered the stew. Huge portions! Will definitely be back to try more.

Shirley

My only experience with this restaurant was when I got a carryout order a few months ago. The total came to a little over $10. I paid the woman at the counter with a $20, and I intended to give a decent tip. She grabbed my $20, said thank you, disappeared into a back room and never returned. I did NOT intend to give a tip equal to the cost of my meal for carryout! Plus the food wasn't that great. I ordered a curry vegetable dish and asked for it to be spiced "hot", but it was as bland as could be. I'm not impressed, especially by the woman who took my money and ran!

Jason Rogers

Never a bad meal at E.S.

Prasad Mysore

Delicious food and quick service. Ordered the butayko and the lhasa chow mein. Note, the medium spicy can be a bit too spicy for some folks

Colin Slaughter

Amazing gem. The lunch special was so much food, some of the best flavors, and such a great price. I love how many vegan options there are and the ambience can’t be beat!
