Great lunch specials. Cheap comfort food with an authentic mexican feel. The best part is theres many of these through Metro Detroit. The salsa is one of the best I've had at any Mexican restaurant.

Be precise when you order, it took an extra try and a send back to get no tomato anything on the plate (too bad because it looked delicious with the tomato-based thin sauce, but no tomatoes for me has to mean nothing red on the plate). Staff were friendly and understanding once I explained that tomatoes would cause immediate and undesirable public results. The food was good, as it always is, and the very mixed crowd of diners meant that this restaurant appeals across the board. Prices are very reasonable, and menu choices are numerous and comprehensive. I'm going back

Amazing service is the foundation of this gem. Your hot chips will and cold water will never run low at El Patio. With a huge selection of authentic dishes, get something different - I can highly recommend the mole poblano - or savor something familiar. Every time we've gone, my fiance has gotten the chimichangas, and he RAVES about them each time! Prices are also very reasonable.

Horrible Service , The guy who took order was so impatient that he don't want to understand what we are trying to order. Feel the same attitude who serve the Food, Only the lady was nice who follow what we are saying. Will not recommencement this restaurant to any one . First and last time for me .

I've have come here since it opened and loved the food but it takes one bad experience ... I cringe. I ordered a plate with a few tacos and a burrito as I went to pick it up to take a bite I saw a black thing sticking out of the side...I opened the burrito and pulled out a long skinny piece of wire, probably from a wire cleaninng brush. The waiter happened to be close by and I showed him all he said was do you want another one, I'm like no! I had to tell my husband to ask for the meal for free he just gave us 20% off the bill it did mostly cover it but. No apology either, I could have choked on that for sure! I wont be back

Enchiladas verde is my go to at Mexican restaurants. This dish is what I order every new place I try. I must say, the enchiladas verde here is the best I have ever had. The sauce was very flavorful and robust, it had a kick to it and it was a nice thick texture. Ive actually never had a green sauce like that before, it really was hands down the best! This was my first visit, and I will go back and try other things. The menu offered a lot of combination dishes, I will probably try one of those next time.

One of my favorite restaurants. The staff are wonderful. I don't think that I have ever had an empty drink or bowl of chips no matter how many people were at the table. Their service is excellent, their prices are low and the food is decent. What more could anyone ask for? You can tell they treat their staff well too. Over the 4 or 5 years that I have been eating there I think that there's only been one new face. I am a fan of their fajitas but I hear they have decent guacamole.

I tried this place twice just to make sure I didn't experience a one off situation. The first time I tried to add onions to my burrito and the server stated they couldn't. Their reason was because their cooks aren't trained to deviate from the menu. I was shocked when they weren't trained to add onions! Second time was today which confirmed it's my last time. I asked to add rice inside my burrito. Once again, the server said they cannot add or subtract anything inside a burrito. It's not like the quality of food is worth coming back to justify cooks that can't deviate from the menu. Even Taco Bell can custom make your order. What a shame.....

The worst worst worst Mexican food I have ever had. 10 thumbs down. Food unfresh, possibly reheated. Supreme Nacho contained soggy Nachos, Ice Berg lettuce, cheese and tomatoes. Other menu item ordered is unexplainable. Gentleman who took my order and collected money, to go order, wasn't very hospitable didn't feel my business was wanted. Will never recommend nor return.

My wife and I had a terrible experience at this restaurant yesterday. We have visited this place numerous times in the past, but the service was never this bad. First and foremost, we waited about 15 minutes once we were seated fore someone to take our order. Once the orders were placed, the food did come out quickly, so not much of an issue there. The problem came when I was almost finished with my plate, I discovered a long curly hair that was mixed in my rice. I immediately notified the waiter and showed him the hair. Upon seeing the hair, the waiter did not say anything nor did he apologize for the issue. I immediately asked for the bill. Upon receiving the bill, I noticed that I was being charged full price for my meal. I notified the manager about the situation and he said that they charged the full price because I had eaten most of my food. I told him he could have at least given a discount for the unsanitary hair that was found in my food, but I guess that was too much to ask. After going back and forth with the manager and waiter, they decided to comp my meal. I'm writing this review for two reasons: Please check your food BEFORE you eat to make sure that there are no hairs in it and to warn other customers about the potential service you could receive if you make a complaint. Needless to say, I won't be going to this restaurant EVER again.

When we want good Mexican food cheap and fast, El Patio is often our choice. And their margaritas are fantastic. Far better than those at much more expensive restaurants. In fact, I often wish they weren't so fast with the food, so there'd be more time to enjoy the drinks and the conversation that goes with a good meal. But that's quibbling. Overall, it's a great place for lunch or dinner.

The restaurant is feels like a place that's trying to hard to be Mexican- corona banners and mexican flags everywhere. Really bad food. I got a combo plate and everything was wet and soggy. Nacho appetizer was very bland. Even taco bell seemed like better quality. Didn't finish my food and definately didn't get a to-go box. And our waiter was very impatient and rude when ordering. He didn't ask what meats to have in my combo place and then sighed when started to specify which ones. The other support staff was good.

The worst Mexican food I've ever attempted to eat. The moment the plate hit my table I knew I was in for an awful experience. I took one bite and when the waiter came I told him there was no way I could eat what he put in front of me. I offered to still pay for it but he comped my meal. I felt bad but there was just no way! The meat looked old, all of the tortillas were store bought and stale, none of the cheese was melted, and there was a soupy bland queso covering everything. My enchilada was a raw corn tortilla with meat stuffed into it and no cheese melted on top. Avoid at all costs. If you want decent Mexican food in the area without going to Southwest Detroit, Azteca is probably your best bet.

This restaurant was just so-so. Went there last night for dinner and my entre (chimichangas, refried beans, and rice) was rather bland. The medium spicy salsa and freshly fried tortilla chips were the highlight of the evening. The menu prices are rather inexpensive, though.

Fantastic restaurant. Always amazing service! You get complimentary chips and salsa and they are to die for! The prices are good for the quality of food you get. They don't skimp on the portions and the food is almost always out super fast. If you go during their lunchtime specials the prices are even cheaper. I highly suggest getting a speedy Gonzalez.

When you enter the restaurant, you feel like respected. But, when you tell them that you are waiting for hot sauce for more than 5 minutes, you will see the opposite side of these people. The server who took the order comes to you and rudely shouts at you "what do you want". Then I told him that the guy who got the food 5 mins back told me he will get some hot sauce and he still didn't get it. Then this person shouts at you "why you need hot sauce" and was telling me to use the bottled sauce on the table. At this time I had enough... I told him to go and get the hot sauce now... so he goes and get's some hot sauce in a bowl and put's it on the table and with out saying a single word he leaves... he then gives me the check and doesn't even say a word... Not going to this place again. And btw, food was horrible.

Went tonight with my fiance. Neither of us have ever walked out or sent food back at a restaurant, but tonight was our first time doing both of those things. We ordered the enchiladas which looked like a lazy taco bell entree (but worse) and the chile Colorado which resembled dog food. At least the margaritas were tasty. Will not return.
