We've gone here for years, usually liking it very much. But we asked for fish and chips the last 2 times, and were disappointed. The fish seemed overcooked and greasy. We'll go here again but not soon.

Clean tables, good food, great selection on all drinks, I felt comfortable and safe there! Garage door widows was a plus the owner was going in the right direction. A few arcades for the kitties makes the place kid friendly I will be return :) 5 stars

Food was a little above average for a place like this. Server was attentive and did a good job. The bartender had a very good attitude. Pretty good selection of beers at a reasonable price. While I applaud their use of a locally made wine, it would be nice to offer some upgrade wines, too. Personal opinion here: Michigan makes some pretty good whites, but, has a way to go on good reds.

The ambiance is charming, like a seaside place. But my husband and I were both underwhelmed with the food. Everything was just okay. This includes the appetizer we ordered, the soup, the other sides, and the entrees. Maybe I'm just spoiled by having eaten at seafood places like this on the east coast, Florida, etc. But we were disappointed.

They have good food. The pricing is fair but not great. You can get better food for lower cost other places. The environment is nice in the summer. They open it up so you feel like you're sitting outside. This is the only reason I go here.

Went on a nice day for lunch. Rooftop patio was not open but the big roll up doors were up and it was very pleasant in the bar area. The service was outstanding and the waitress was friendly and fun. She recommended the fish tacos and she nailed it! They were delicious. Great beer selection and I can't wait to come back outside work hours so I can have a drink on the rooftop.

Having frozen pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris on the rooftop is v fun. The best time to stop by is the summer when you can sit on the rooftop or their large windows are open and you can enjoy the nice weather. Otherwise, this isn’t typically my first choice for food & drinks.

Oh my goodness, so slow and no one was really here. Waited for ever for everything. Waitress wrote down orders and then had to come back 2-3 times to re ask about it. Food came out cold and nasty, waitress never returned to ask how anything was or for any drink refills.

The Blue Gill Grill is a very enjoyable restaurant/bar that is very popular with people on the east side of the greater Lansing area. A great place to go after a badketball or fooyball game. The menu has burgers, pizza and a good selection of appetizers, all good. Check out the salads, wraps and fish dinners.

Y..U..M... We needed a place with a relaxed atmosphere and good food when road tripping home. A quick search landed us here and we were not disappointed. We sat "outside" in the bar area which was really indoors but with the open air feel with all of the garage doors open, we had the best of both worlds. Our waitress was attentive and nice. Our food arrived quickly and the portions were ample. Each of us had something different and we all loved our food. Had plenty left to take home so we can enjoy it again. We have some upcoming travel again and will be back.

I love how the windows are like small garage doors so you feel like you are eating outside but without all the bugs. It brings the outside indoors. Love love love Blue gill grill!

My favorite restaurant in Haslett. They've been around a long time and have learned how to please customers to a T. Their food is fresh and delicious, most seafood caught fresh. Sauces and pizza made in house. Best drinks by some amazing bartenders. Good vibes, music, tv. Nicest wait staff. I love this place so much and will keep going here for ever. Actually, a little worried about giving a review. Maybe lots of people will see it, go there, and I'll lose my afternoon bench seat. Best restaurant in Haslett or Okemos.

Just had dinner there last night - 4 adult meals and beverages each. Our waitress was wonderful and attentive and the food was delivered promptly. One of the burgers was described as having "stacked" ham, but it was one sliver under a piece of cheese. The rest of the food was okay - not great. Upon getting our check, we used our WKAR benefits card that offered a 2-1 meal with the purchase of 2 drinks (value of $7). Apparently, the miser owner (Denise) decided to cancel that offer mid-way into the year. Really? $7 bucks? It makes us wonder what else she's doing to cut corners? Is the perch really perch? Where's the ham? We won't be back just because of nasty customer service, ie owner, Denise. She obviously doesn't care about her patrons.

I have been coming here for many years and was never disappointed until today. The clams had always been my favorite but no more. They were tough, chewy..over cooked? Idk but not edible. It will be a long time before I return.

On the corner from the lake, Blue Gill Grill has open breezes on the bar side, and a lovely window line in the dining room you can see the lake from. The Blue Gill are tender and fabulous. The salmon bites exquisite. The men's restroom has a "pee meter" my son has enjoyed since he was young ...

We always have good waitresses and/or waiters. They always have at leaat 3 or 4 specials and at least 3 to 5 different kinds of soup. Of course there is also the menu to order off of. In the summer they open their rooftop seating. We have not eaten up there so I don't know how much you can get off the menu.

Plenty of beer on tap and the food is good. Waitstaff and bar tenders are always friendly and polite. My wife and I enjoy coming here. The roof top patio is a great "5 o'clock somewhere" spot when the weather is nice.

Toms cheesy crab dip was awesome and well worth the price but my girlfriend and I's clam strips were completely different from one anothers. Mine were just little peices of batter fried long enough to be rocks for the most part, where-as my girlfriends looked like full size actual clam strips. Sadly hers, even with the nice presentation, were chewy, which i specifally remember the add saying they were "SUPER TENDER" lmao.(To top it off it was 8 bucks for a literal handful of rocks for me and fried rubber for my girlfriend.... Just sayin) Will say it was cooked up pretty quick and Door Dash was here super fast but i would seriously suggest some updated quality control standards in that kitchen

In the past we have had decent service here but tonight the waitress (Liz) got us our drink, took our order, and after many excuses about the kitchen being backed up (and never bothering to offer us another drink), I went down to the kitchen and found out that they lost our food ticket! Nice. How long were we going to sit there before she told us?! Really sad.

Service was pleasant and atmosphere was on point for a beachy bar and grill restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was overpriced and underwhelming. We ordered two build your own burgers, the A1 steak wrap, soft pretzels with beer cheese, and Pina coladas. The drinks were good but the food was nothing special. Definitely not worth the price. I would say it is a good place to get drinks and look at the lake. Though, I would not recommend it to a friend.

I went to Blue Gill Grill tonight for the fish tacos. I had the balckened ones, and they were great. I would and will be back there again, everyone was very friendly and it has a great layed back feeling..not to mention they play great music. Look forward to my next visit.

Their rooftop bar, aptly named "The Thirsty Perch" is great on nice summer evenings. The bar and interior of the restaurant are nautically themed and offer great atmosphere with great food and drink options.

We have lived here for 4 years in the neighborhood adjacent to the restaurant. About 2.5 to 3 of those years, we frequented this place AT LEAST once weekly for the great beer selection, good food, casual atmosphere, quick service, and nice staff. However, we barely go there anymore because it seems to have steadily decreased in quality over the last few years. The service is slow. The food isn't as good. The final straw was the removal of a choice of grilled chicken for the sandwiches, if you don't want a burger. We don't and I don't want a fried chicken sandwich either. We miss the place but have moved on.

I'd been here a few times before for lunch and had enjoyed their Reuben sandwich. Tonight I got the shrimp and sausage boil and it was EXTRAordinary! The server told me a little story about it and said it was a little spicy. The corn on the cob and the onions just blended so well with the shrimp and sausage and the flavors were so very good! I highly recommend this dish when they have it, and I'm glad I got to go!

Had the blue gill, it was the best I've ever had! Pan fried in very light breading. The grilled veggies weren't so great, should of got the rice pilaf. But the bluegill more than made up for it. Oh, the ceaser salad was perfect, fresh and it was actual Romain lettuce!

We had heard good things about this place from more than 1 person. Tonight, we decided to give it a try. Glad we did. Service was awesome (Sara T) and we both loved the food. We had the Bing Bang shrimp with the sweet Asian chilli sauce and then we split a Philly cheese steak sandwich. Sandwich was huge. Fries were delicious. Crispy on the outside and soft inside. I love ranch dressing. I asked the server for a side. She said they make it there. It was the amazing runny ranch. If you love ranch like I do... You know exactly what I mean!! Plenty of food for both my husband and I. I managed to get a pic of sandwich and fries but we ate the shrimp too fast! Plus 24 beers on tap!! I apologize for the pics because they really don't do the meal justice. Great sports bar atmosphere. Good prices with generous portions. Can't wait to go back and try something different!

I tried the impossible burger here the last time I was in. It was ok, I would probably try it on a different burger there. I really like the atmosphere here and have been here a few times. Service is ok and the food is good. I feel like this is a great place to meet up with friends for some drinks and have a good time. If your thinking on going, I would give it a try.

Meal varies day to day and is inconsistent with the menu. Beers on tap taste off frequently. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Kind of pricey for what you get. Not horrible by any means but not for me.

I would leave 0 stars but that isn’t an option. We have been going there for 4 months every Friday after work (9pm) and we have never been carded in the dining room area for being under 18. We weren’t near the bar or ordering alcohol and one of the bar tenders: I think a manager came over and told us we couldn’t be there if we weren’t over 18 and all of us were except one person and he turns 18 in 15 days. They told us we had to leave and were very rude and short with us. I have never had worse service In general we just went there because it was tradition. But now we will be going to the Mayfair from now on. Blue gill lost my business because they failed in consistency and politeness
