A bit overpriced and the bar staff gets overwhelmed on busy nights. Were made to pay a cover to get in through the Encore side on a busy night...10 dollars was not worth it so we went home. Lots of college dudes. Big space, cool look, just not my scene.

Very unprofessional. Checked my bank account after visiting only to realize they had reopened my tab after I had billed out and left the bar! Come to find out an addition $30 was charged on my account when I wasn't even there. They didn't even have my card, I didn't know that was possible nor legal. I talked to the manager Matt, he was very rude and unwilling to help. I will be contacting the police and the state liquer commission, for they are partaking in fraudulent business activity and theft. BE SURE TO KEEP YOUR PAPER RECEIPT WHEN VISITING THIS BAR!

We lived in Louisiana for 14 years, moved back to michigan years ago and saw the restaurant bill board's ads on us127, so we thought we would check it out. The bar and service was fine (nothing special) and the food was just ok. Wish we had a really good Cajun restaurant in west Michigan. Probably will not go back as it is a 30 minute drive out of our way.

Not at all impressed with this place. We had researched the menu online it sounded GREAT, not so much. Apparently they have two menus, one for before 4 pm and one after. Several of the items I would have preferred weren't even on the menu. Having been to the Big Easy several several times the food here taste like it came out of the freezer. I ordered the "Southern Fried Fish Tacos" fish wasn't fried at all and I had what looked to be two pieces of Smelt on each taco, the tortilla was stale and hard to chew. The saving grace of my meal was the coleslaw and waffle fries. My husband got the Blackened Trout Po Boy, can you say paper thin and just about as tasty? We ordered a Muffeletta to go, OH BOY....SAD SAD SAD!!!! Waitress/Bartender said that sometimes the NITROGEN in the coke doesn't mix right, NITROGEN? REALLY? Ok, let's hope she isn't a college student! Apparently the cook had had one too many beers too. Not at all impressed and will not be going back.

Great place for drinks and food. Wait staff was very friendly and the burger that i got was fantastic. We went around 1:00 and it was not busy at all, more of a college bar but is a hidden gem when it comes to the food. A must try in MT. P

Well what can i say so young 1st we ordered drinks and a water with lemon, drinks week she forgot water then she forgot lemon, gator bites delicious shrimp and crab dip delicious but she brought it to me with bread instead of pita chips, what bothers me most is she didn't ask if i wanted it with bread she just brought it to me, pub burger and fries not worth $8.00 just a small piece of hamburger a piece of lettuce and 1 piece of tomato no cheese and a small amount of fries, please tell waitresses if you are out of something to ask cust if they still want it

Really great place to come to if you want to get ripped off for using a credit card!!!! I got charged $25 even thought my receipt came out to $16 with tip, and this is not the first time this has happened. This is ridiculous as the bartender informed me that there is a $10 minimum for cards, which I obviously surpassed with my order. The same thing happened to my friend as well which is unacceptable. Will definitely not be coming back here again without cash as they like to steal from their customers

Food was good, drinks were light on the liquor, beer was cold. Tiffany was really nice. This leads into the problem. There was a big rush, we sat down got drinks then it took over 2 hours to get our food. We could hear the cook tell the waitress the other waitresses took our food, the manager knew about it but never came over. He was not much of a manager. 3 hours total, it really ruined our day waiting. We all should have left, but we were hungry

This place is hot or miss in my opinion. We go because we love the Cajun food, although one time we went at 6:00pm and they were out of gumbo and Jambalaya .....really? We have also gone and the service has been painfully slow. Although sometimes when we go it is amazing! We learned to go in with no expectations.

Took 10 minutes after we were seated to get menus. After that no one spoke to us again. A group of about 7 walked in and got helped right away. It's not that they didn't have the staff either. 3 of their waitresses were just standing/talking behind the bar. After 20 minutes of waiting we left.

Great server! Fried food was VERY greasy: fried pickles, fries, and motz sticks. My boyfriend got the pub burger and there wasn't anything great about it, pretty bland. I got the ranchero wrap and it was pretty good!

I go there to play on my pool league on Wednesday nights they have good food but any other night there so many college kids you can't really go in there and enjoy yourself it's loud it's crowded and they really mess up the place it's too bad that college kids are so disrespectful of property

Average pricey food. Servers while barely polite, we're definitely under trained. I asked for a sample of beer I had never tried. They were all out. Ok, no biggie. So I ordered a plain Jane Miller Light. They were all out of that also. Menu looks wonderful. But food didn't deliver. No reason for me to come back.

The bar was heavily overstaffed on this particular Monday, and were very clearly inexperienced. They weren't that friendly either, but I chalk that up to their youth. Not their fault but I hope that they gain more experience in mixology and simple bartender etiquette before I go back there. I ordered a double on the rocks and when my drink got served another girl behind the bar began to chide the one serving me over too heavy a pour. First... It was a 3 dollar special night so bugger off. Second, she didn't know I ordered a double. Third, wait until I'm not standing right there to start getting weird about my drink order. Be cool, ladies, it was an empty bar on a Monday, have some fun yeah?

We have been going for several years but was totally not happy with our last visit. We ordered burger and sides of waffle fries. It was like we got the last bit of leftover fries. I had 3 quarter size fries and a few little pieces and the other order was about same size. We paid for 2 sides of fries, totally ripped off. Seriously questioning if we will go back again.

Great atmosphere and staff, however they may want to fire the cook or consider not serving food at all, because it was pretty bad. I would go as far as questioning the safety of their food preparation...why? 2 of the 2 sandwiches we received, in my opinion, we're not fully cooked.

I have visited Blue Gator multiple times and this was by far the WORST experience I have ever had!!! It took our waitress 20 minutes to get our drinks and appetizer order, and after waiting an HOUR for our food, she finally informed us that they were out of the appetizer we ordered (as I watched a table who came in 30 minutes AFTER us get what we had ordered!!!) We paid for our drinks and left. Currently at Applebee’s where our waitress is amazing and making sure we are taken care of. If you want good service and Cajun food, either stay home and Pinterest some recipes or head up to Elk Rapids to the Pearl’s! They have never let us down there and it is the most authentic Cajun food I’ve ever had (aside from going to New Orleans)

For a place that is supposidely “kid friendly,” it shouldn’t even matter if your 21 or not trying to get dinner at 6:30pm on a Friday. I wasn’t even allowed past the door by the doorman not even to just get dinner because I was 20 and not 21. Don’t ever plan on going back to this place if it’s not going to allow someone who’s willing to pay for dinner not come in and sit down because they’re not old enough to order alcohol. I’m originally from a big city and I’ve never had this problem growing up, trying to get dinner at a bar even when I was in high school and going out with friends
