My husband and I went for restaurant week. We had never been before and am super glad we did. The service was great and the views are amazing. It's set on the 16 floor of the Grand Traverse Resort. Definitely go before sun set as once the sun goes down, you can't really see out of the windows. The food was very good, especially the pork belly appetizer and the filet. The desserts were just ok, but everything else was worth it. The manager came by and talked to us for 10 minutes before we left, great guy. We will go back, especially for the brunch we heard about.
Amazing place!! Every angle of the restaurant is an amazing view. Our waiter was great and the selection on the menu was to die for. Would come back again!!
Great food, great service, but they need to work on their timing. Starts slow, then too fast.
It was wonderful going somewhere that the food and service are EXCELLENT! Can't wait to go back!!
menue took a hit I guess due to the huge cost of resort upgrade. we came here for 5-6 years now and we had to walk out since my kid couldnt get anything from the chef due to sesame and milk alergies. No fries, no chicken breast or fruit cups anymore.
Great Service and Great Drinks
Great place for to go on Sunday brunches. Great Service. outstanding views of water from the 13th floor.
Great staff, great food, for relatively cheap considering the experience. Paid 30 dollars for an all you can eat brunch and it was wonderful!
Deserts were a let down but the rest had on point flavor profiles.
Really good food. We were happy with the service. Unique view for a restaurant in TC.
Some of the best food we have had in TC. Small meal but fantastic. Will be making it a tradition!
Dinner was very good and the friendly staff were outstanding!
Went for drinks and appetizers. The view from Aerie can't be beat! Enjoyed the cocktail and cheese board.
Food was amazing. Took awhile to get a drink while sitting at the bar when they appeared to be not that busy. Our meal was definitely 5 stars.
My wife and I ate here for Valentine's day. The food was fantastic and the live musicians were phenomenal! The waitress let me take home the mini margarita glass from my dessert plate, and even brought me a second glass so my wife and I could have a set! Thoroughly wonderful experience. Will be returning.
Quiet and relaxed. Very nice environment. Staff were pleasant. Food and drinks were good.
The soup was extremely salty. The salad was the only good dish. The fish over a bed of lentils was terrible. The lentils were very hard and undercooked. Had to ask for bread. The server was fine. The manager did not come back to check on us after the soup was returned and forgot to take it off the bill. We ended up eating a pizza at Jack's bar downstairs after. Nothing was done to correct this issue even though we addressed it with the front desk. Very overpriced for an unsatisfactory meal.
We did the Sunday brunch because it was recommended by a coworker- 10 stars! It was beautiful and delicious. Sitting on the 16th floor with the view of the bay was breathtaking. I don’t think there was a bad seat in the house! Our server, Pat, was super friendly and asked about our weekend and gave us ideas of more things to do. I wasn’t sure about the $22.95 price tag but it was well worth it! This is a must if you’re in Traverse City!
Strong 5 star review. Both my wife and I were extremely happy with everything we ordered. We started with asparagus and parmesan soup which was excellent. She had the pan seared salmon and I had the filet as entrees and they both were cooked perfectly and paired well. They have a great wine list that suites all budgets. We were very pleased with the hummingbird cake for dessert. The manager did an exemplary job working the room and ensuring all the guests were enjoying the experience without being intrusive. Great experience and will be back. And oh yeah, the bay views are stunning.
Great service, food and views
The atmosphere is really nice. The food is good. But what really meant a lot was the service. Rose was our waitress and it is very rarely I can say I meet people so good at that very hard job.
My wife and I can't say enough good things about this place. The view, the service, the food....Bravo! My wife had the charbroiled filet, I had the salmon, both were awesome! Careful with the sourdough garlic bread, it's filling.
Great view, great food, and great service!
Enjoyed Traverse City Restaurant dinner at Aerie with friends.
Visited the bar and received amazing service
Amazing high end food for very reasonable prices. My wife and I got dinner for $40. Nice atmosphere. Our waiter Devin was very friendly and courteous. Great view of the East Bay. I would definitely go back again.
The chef was amazing! When I said that I needed a vegan, gluten free dish the waitress sent out the chef to discuss what he could make for me. The entree he made was amazing! The others in our party were jealous! I cannot wait to dine here again and again and again!
You will never leave dissatisfied with the food ,atmosphere, or staff. Love this place!
The food was okay, small portions.
Great food....and beyond great services...
Overall, disappointing experience. We RSVP'd for a 5:45 because the restaurant was "booked" and we couldn't get any other times such as 6 or 7. However, when we arrived, it was a ghost town. We stayed until 7 and the place was certainly NOT booked. I feel like they just told us that so they appeared more desirable. The view is fantastic at the top of the Grand Traverse Resort and we had high hopes for the restaurant because its location gives it great potential. However, the menu is limited and disappointing, especially compared to other high end restaurants in Traverse City. The food was prepared well and had great presentation. I ordered a Ribeye steak but found the portion size to be very small for the price, even compared to similarly priced (and better) restaurants. The real deal breaker for the whole experience was poor service. A restaurant at this price-point should have spot on high quality service. Our waitress was definitely subpar. She didn't check on our meal until we had been finished for 15 minutes. She then left us with a dessert menu and disappeared for another 25 minutes at which point I had to ask another server for our waitress who finally just brought the bill (never mind dessert). Let me reiterate: the restaurant was not busy... at all. I don't mind paying for a nice dinner but the service is what makes the experience. I routinely get better service at middle of the road chain restaurants. Sadly, we will probably not return anytime soon. There are far too many great restaurants in Traverse City to warrant putting Aerie on our list of places to frequent.
Beautiful views and awesome brunch.
Excellent food, friendly service.
Beautiful view. Sunday brunch had nice variety. Patrick our waiter was awesome!
Not impressed with food. Got one dish sent back. One was inedible. Atmosphere was real nice, clean and great view.
The menu for Traverse City restaurant week 2019 is truly awesome. Veggie Tempura is cooked to perfection with amazing sauce. It is a lot better than what we had at other high-end Japanese restaurants. We also got to enjoy the beautiful sunset over the bay through out the meal. We get to enjoy the food, the wine, and the scenery altogether. A fantastic dinner experience.
Had the filet, was the best thing I've ever put in my mouth. No joke,... It was beyond delicious.
Be leary on low oxygen levels at this altitude. The actual brunch selection was good.
Great atmosphere, excellent fine dining experience
Michael is a fantastic server.
View is great, food is okay, small portions for big bucks
I made reservations at 11. It was about 10:15. There was only 4 of us, and there were only about 10 people in the restaurant and it holds 280. We asked if we could go in earlier since we were ready, they wouldn't let us remember there were only 3 tables being used so we waited over an hour until our table was ready the whole time we waited only about 7 more people came up to the restaurant when they said there were no tables Available. Terrible service too the hostess was snotty as well
Great place to eat. Nice formal meal
Beautiful views from this restaurant! Very nice, knowledgeable servers.
original review: They don't keep posted hours! Ruined my anniversary by closing early. Very unprofessional and disappointing. updated: they felt so bad about closing early they comped our meal and it was wonderful. great food, lovely atmosphere, wonderful view.
Poor neglectful service. Food was cold and overpriced for what was provided.
Absolutely amazing presentation, service and food with a perfect view... This is by far the best place to eat in Traverse City!!!
Bartenders are very friendly. Good cocktail and beer selection. It is a little small and can get pretty busy. Nice views.
Not one complaint. Excellent food and service! I had the pork tenderloin entre and my husband had the filet. We can't wait to come back here to try more of this menu.
Amazing
Went there for the Sunday brunch and it was great as always. The view wasn't quite as good as usual because there happened to be a blizzard going on. But as long as mother nature cooperates, the views here can't be beat.
The food was phenomenal! We had the filet, the bronzini, and cherry lemonade martinis. They sat us in a private booth overlooking the water, and the view was amazing. The only complaint we have is that they don't participate in happy hour on the restaurant side which we didn't know until we were seated. It was frustrating to us since it's the same kitchen and the same food, but it costs twice as much depending on where you sit.
I am giving two stars only because of the friendly manager. My husband and I made a reaervation for 7:15. It was not busy when we arrived. The atmosphere was nice. The host who greeted us and brought us to our table was also friendly. Our server however was on the rude side. Our drinks were empty most of the time. We waited an hour and fifteen minutes only to be served a cold meal. When we inquired to the manager how much longer our meals would take he did offer to comp it. We declined, but the gesture was nice. My husband did enjoy his salmon but the overall experience was a bust.
Excellent food, staff, and view. The food was prepared with care and an attention to detail. The staff were all very friendly and never left you without anything.
A great place to go for a date night. The food is generally impressive. I tried the watermelon tomato gazpacho and it was amazing! I had the lamb chops and, I'm sure you can tell from the picture that one was cooked slightly more than the medium I requested, but the flavors were spot on anyway! Dessert is always a good choice to end the meal. They have a myriad of drinks to choose from for before, during or after the meal. It is on the 16th floor of Grand Traverse Resort and Spa and boasts an impressive view of Traverse City, depending on the seat you get in the restaurant. You can even see fireworks for the 4th of July celebrations happening downtown!
Food was good service was ok view was awesome! Price was reasonable had brunch which came with a Mammosa.
We went for the Jamacain dinner. The service we received was below par, people who came in after us were waited on right away while we had to get the attention of someone. Our experience was very disappointing.
Terrific view, wonderful staff & service, elegant yet casual ambience. A must, to visit while in Traverse City.
View is spectacular
Lovely view. Not much food for the cost. $10 for 8 oz of soup. We told the waiter when we sat down that three of us were vegetarians. We ordered two salads after carefully reading the menu to see if they had meet on them. The description did not include any meat. When the salads arrived they had bacon on them. When we sent them back the waiter acted put out saying the menu did say bacon. We double checked the menu, no bacon. A small thing, but very rude service. The waiter also told us about the history of the area, but some of his facts were wrong. We will not return or recommend this restaurant.
Beautiful place with very good food.
Went for Sunday brunch. Virtually all pastries were bad/dry/stale. Desserts were mediocre at best except for coconut truffle, which was good. Then again, with only three ingredients for the filling you would have to try hard to mess them up. Omelette station was good, but for 19.95 I expect more than good eggs. Decent selection of average/below average food. No carving station -- not even a ham. Staff was pleasant but seemed to just be putting in their time with no true attention to customer service. We were there before their rush hour and there were open tables, so it's not like we were the last ones to be served when food had been sitting out for hours. We won't be back. If you want good food in Traverse City go to Sorellinas.
