Had lunch here with my wife recently and it was a pretty odd experience. There was nothing wrong with the menu, or the service, but the food itself just wasn't for us. Chinese barbecue offers a lot of variety and this place makes sharing food very easy, which was appealing. You can think of this restaurant very much like you would a Spanish tapas place, with small plates and lots of diversity - but unfortunately, they cover all of their skewers in this spice blend that we absolutely hated. We had tofu skewers ($1.50), mushroom skewers ($1.50), chicken skewers ($2) and beef skewers ($2) and while everything was cooked nicely, you couldn't taste much besides that damn spice blend. It completely blew our palates up and that's all we could taste. There are hints of cumin in there but their proprietary blend just ruined our meal. The sesame noodles ($10) were pretty tasty and luckily for us, gave us some relief away from the spice blend-covered skewers and so did their scallion pancakes ($5). Service was attentive, even providing a bag for my wife's purse so it wouldn't make contact with the floor - which was a nice touch. The decor is nice and overall, the appeal of this place is great. Had it not been for the spice blend, I probably would have rated it higher but honestly it's just not for us.

Food was pretty ordinary nothing that really wowed me; ive had the popcorn chicken better at super 88 in brighton and the skewer was simple in flavor and tasty to the taste bud. My favorite was the chips that was the tastiest of what we ordered.

They claim wong's kitchen is both overly priced and poorly tasted, so they want to change the situation and bring some new blood to chinese food on thayer. So here comes wow, with a slightly better taste, and a much higher price tag. Well, they did change something I guess.

Love this place, been to it numerous times without any disappointments. The authentic taste definitely wows most of the visitors including my friends and I. Good for a meal of any size, probably not great for non-meat eaters. I mostly ordered the a la carte pieces of barbecue meat, and they were very adequately spiced and cooked. If you get the chance, try the chicken skin! Probably my favorite thing there.

Sichuan Beef Noodles are authentic, though I won’t say they’re the best. Ok service - would prefer if the waitress did not put a tab in front of me literally the moment I finished my noodles. A fly wouldn’t let me alone the whole time I had my meal which was super annoying.

Loved this place! Was craving something a little out of the ordinary to eat on my way out of town. I have a lot of food allergies, and they were very considerate, checking with me about cross contamination before cooking any of the food. My boyfriend and I shared a variety of kabobs and had the grilled eggplant appetizer, which was probably some of the best prepared eggplant I have ever eaten. It is a well designed spot with fun murals on the wall. Great for a casual but delicious date night. Would definitely go back next time I'm in the area!

Went here and got some skewers and a bowl of ramen. The skewers were small. They were well seasoned, but not super tasty. The ramen tasted pretty good, and was put together nicely, but it was only lukewarm for some reason. I didn't bother sending it back.

Service was ZERO! 2 serves male and female. The male messed up on our order, due to language barrier. Female was a little bit better but wait time was bad. For water, food, general service. To the point we got up and asked to be rung out. Zero customer service. What saved it was the food! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. To average. Don’t expect much from the BBQ. Just random pieces of stuff on a stick with cumin on it. The SQUID was to die for tho! And the clams were on point.

I ordered ramen and honestly it was so salty I threw it out. The eggs I received were a dark brown color which doesn't seem okay to eat at all. Terrible standards for their food. Won't be ordering from here ever again. Ugh.

Absolutely fantastic. The staff was so awesome. If we didn't know what something was, they explained it to us and were so nice and genuinely interested in our comfort. The food was absolutely delicious! Will definitely come back!

Slow service. Some weird items on the menu. I ordered a lychee drink. It was sold out, so I got a plum drink. It tasted like smoke. The server tried it and said that was how it was supposed to taste. I had him take it away. He still charged us for it. We didn't like our experience here and won't be back.

Very clean place. Nicely decorated. Cute bathroom too. Great atmosphere overall. Thoughtful server and was attentive to us until we got our food then it seemed like she zoned out at the end and we had to wait a while to get our check and get our leftovers packaged up. We had the sweet and sour pork rice plate and wings that were part of a wing deal. The pork was very tough/chewy though, maybe just a very low quality of meat. That was the downfall for us. The wings had a good dry rub seasoning just a bit overpowering with cumin. Menu had a good selection and some fun mocktail drink options

If i could give it zero stars, i would. It probably cost a Uber driver more in gas to bring it over to Elmhurst then it did for the restaurant to make this garbage. Here is a picture of a 'skewer' next to a dinner fork for scale. Notice the 'meat' is half the size of my fork. There's a piece of meat missing from the meat skewer because it was a giant chunk of fat. The entire meal was 2/3rds fat. Disgusting. I had to remove all the fat from the Sichuan noodle soup before we could even think about eating it. I apologize for second disgusting photo but that is the 'meat' they put in my noodle soup. Would you eat that fat?! I couldn't ever stomach eating it at that point. We ordered pizza. Dont waste your time.
