You will see all the feddbacks of real people who buy the products and services of Winsor Dim Sum Café (Restaurant) near to the state of Massachusetts.
Right now this business receives a score of 4.1 out of 5 and that rating has been calculated on 675 reviews.
You must have seen that it reaches an opinions average is good, and it's based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may be pretty sure that the valuation is very reliable. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they are happy, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to give evaluations when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Chinese restaurant.
Manager was unhelpful and condescending. Chopsticks were reusable plastic which couldn’t hold the food well. There was a hair on my dumplings, had to send it back, waitress was apologetic though. Tea was complimentary but very weak and made with harsh tap water, no other drinks were offered to us. Food was typical just like every other Chinese restaurant, this place is nothing special. Only thing we liked was the price, at least we didn’t pay that much.
The food was excellent! Most of the dishes were only a few dollars, so we were able to try a huge variety of options. The interior wasn’t anything fancy. The taste of the food was pretty authentic. I would highly recommend.
Food is okay. Terrible service. If you want to be upset, please eat here.
Rated 4 Stars? Seriously?!? Visiting from Asia, I understand that generally Asian restaurant in States are not really comparable when it’s comes to food or service standards but this place is just bad The congee is bland, the xiao long bao is Huge! Do they know Xiao means small? The service is unfriendly. The place is very small so they made customers share table, which is fine but the waiter kept hovering around to quietly pressure you to leave so they can take new customers. I think the chef still lives in the 70s HKG mentality and simply got lazy with the culinary skill
Love their dim sum... Fresh, comfy food and fast. I convinced my meatlover friend that seafood options are tastier than meat hahah
Amazing food. Cash only! The only place to get fresh dim sum during the week (and it's all made to order). Don't skip this place! It's not very big so I'm sure it gets busy but when we came (11am on a rainy cold Tuesday) there was no one. Really love the beef meatball, sticky rice, and cheung fun (large rice noodle rolled around meat/shrimp).
Always so tasty. You cant beat this place!
Amazing dim sum. If you want authentic deliciousness come here. The pork steamed buns normally start fights because of how good they are.
Food isn't bad for the price but incredibly inattentive service. Asked for water twice, never recieved waited like 30 minutes for any of the servers to even make eye contact with us despite them all noticing the empty used dishes we'd had stacked at this point to get their attention. We waited atleast 30 minutes to get our check I had to rudely yell out at one of them for it I felt ignored lol?!
Cozy little place to enjoy dim sum plates after all other restaurants stop serving. It's a "any time of the day and night" foods.
Good food , cheap place but waiters aren’t that friendly . Hell I never see them smile but they do come quick to see if you need anything else . I always go here for the dim sum because I don’t need to wait for the carts to go around like the other place down the st .
my go to place when I'm craving dimsum. Staff us a little meh but I'm not expecting much from them. Food is delicious and always comes out quick.
Good value, but trash food. Only take dimsum, everything else is trash
I love the food here but it's definitely not service with a smile. The prices are lower than most too.
This is our go-to dim sum place in Boston. I like that they make each order fresh because I hate lukewarm food or how the dumplings congeal when they’re in a warmer. We have loved everything so far-chicken feet, bok choy, all the dumplings, fried shrimp balls. Everything is hot and fresh. Most times you share tables so be ready to talk if others want to or just hang out with your group.
Amazing Lotus buns, veggie dumplings and sesame fried balls!! Delicious and affordable. Our favorite place in China town.
Everything I could ask for and more done so right! Turnip cakes and steamed pork buns were great
Place is definitely good for dim sum. Only problem was when the bill came...they automatically tack on 18% tip for only two of us...petty!! There are better places out there that doesn’t automatically charge you the tip!
Not recommend. Greedy waitress ask for more tips.
One of my favorite places to eat dim sum. The har gow, turnip cake with x.o. sauce, soup dumplings are 3 great choices. Sticky rice in lotus leaves and the shrimp and chive dumplings are another two good dishes to try. Very reasonably priced. Crowded on the weekends and holidays,be prepared to wait 15-30 minutes.
One of the best dim sum places I've ever been... And I've done this in China proper. A real Proustian moment biting into so many hand made favourites. Staff are very friendly. I want to go back for dinner, now we have had lunch... So good.
Best dim sum menu in Boston. Service is actually pretty good. They’re very accommodating. Get the dumplings, chicken buns, and shrimp rice noodles.
Not a good service
Dim Sum for dinner. Like most dim sum in Chinatown, it's inexpensive, tasty, and probably not very healthy, but this one is available after lunchtime. You should stick to the paper menu unless you really know what you're doing, as the couple of generic dishes we tried weren't great.
Very good food, crew not that friendly.
Delicious Dim Sum. Rivals any other in Chinatown.
Solid dim sum all day place. Possibly the best place for steamed fried chicken feet’s - at least it’s the best I had. A small place with about 10 tables. Very busy at lunch and dinner. You probably will have to share table with other groups. But at least you don’t sit shoulder to shoulder with others. Highly recommended
Totally overrated, absolutely nothing particularly special, but everything here is decent. The food here is average compared to other dim sum restaurants, but I suspect this place draws a lot of people new to the dim sum experience because they have a picture menu which makes it easier for the uninitiated. This is the first time I've been to a dim sum restaurant (in Chinatown) where the patrons were mostly non-Chinese. While Winsor is fine, it is by no means the best dim sum restaurant in Chinatown so take all the glowing reviews with a grain of salt.
Very fresh. Good steamed barbeque pork buns.
Good food, fair prices, busy so there might be a wait.
Good selection of dim sum offerings off the menu.
Great food. Moderate price, however, they have a friendly staff. At times they may be out of certain dishes, but all of them are delicious.
Thought I would never find an all day AND every day dim sum spot...A dream come true. The best part.... The food is amazing!!! The beef rice noodle has the most intense complex flavor you must include that in your order. I cannot wait to go back, I wish it was closer in would go every week!!!!
Food is awesome. I wish they would leave the menu with you and customer service is eh. Be open to sharing a table with another party.
The best dimsum place in Boston. Period. The waitstaff is quite businesslike, but are extremely attentive and efficient. We are regulars here, and the food has been consistently great. Here is a hint if you want an amazing experience (e.g. with a date) - Go just before or after rush hour. The place is small and fills up quickly.
One of the better dim sum eats in Boston. Always a wait. The place is small. You have the option to place your name on a list. Greeter will call both inside and outside the restaurant. If you are not there your spot will be immediately gobbled up.
Overpriced and underwhelmed. Don't understand how so many people rave about this place. Have had much much much better dim sum.
The best dim sum place in Chinatown
Overall is a pretty good place to eat dim sum. They keep the place very clean, our server was very quite but helpful. I will definitely come back for more.
Delicious dim sum
Never tried Dim Sum before, what can I say? My taste buds were 100% satisfied with it! Highly recommend stopping by for brunch!
Great food
The best dim sum in town and can't beat the price and freshness.
Their jian dui (sesame balls) dessert is WONDERFUL!
Absolutely amazing dim sum. First time there. Wont be the last.
Quick service, great dim sum, low key atmosphere. What more could I ask for. Just beware the $20 card minimum
Small hidden spot recommended by a friend of mine. They make fresh to order Dim Sum. Very different from traditional spots. Very efficient and friendly staff. Not as large as other Dim Sum spots but very comfy spaces.
Wonderful restaurant! Obviously the food is amazing. It reminds me of tapas with the multiple small plates. Highly recommend the black bean sesame balls. Be aware the seating is large round tables and they will seat multiple parties to a table depending on the fit. Wait can be long if it's busy. Worth the wait though.
A unique experience for sure. If it wasn't for my friend who frequents this place I'd be really lost on what to order. Be prepared to share a table with other diners... Which is kind of cool. You only live once.
Price is good . It’s a second time visiting this restaurant for Dim Sum. Very busy restaurant. As you know, Parking is not easy around China town. That’s one thing I don’t like. Food was delicious. Yummy! Waitress helps you which ones is popular there. Always crowded here.
One of the best char siew bun I've tasted in the East coast
So good.
Well worth the wait. Went on a Sunday for lunch and there was a long long line. People have to share table in order to get everyone in as fast as they can. Long list of delicious dim sum dishes. Come prepared to eat. Hard to communicate in order to make any special requests or drinks.
Decent fresh food. Inside is smaller than i like but the food is great. Staff is wonderful. Location is close to the china town gate so its easy to find.
One of the best places to have dim sum in Boston.
I love the food here. No carts so you miss out on the hectic hubbub that I associate with dim sum but it all comes straight out of the kitchen piping hot. Also, you can get your favorite dim sum treats for dinner too.
The location is very much hard to spot but once inside it's very spacious. The staff are very considerate and friendly. My cooked eel and sushi was delicious but my friends ordered raw dishes and found them plain. I wouldn't mind going again though
Excellent dim sum, rational prices, good table management if you do not mind to share it
Good dim sum with a few that I haven't seen everywhere. Service could be better, we had to ask for water 4 times before we got it. The dim sum comes quick and hot and they are quick to bring it and take away the empty containers which is good if ordering with a lot of people. I'd eat here again if there weren't other places to try in the area. Average prices on the food which is good too.
This place is small but good. It has dim sum (that I would recommend you only order during busier times) that's made to order as opposed to cart. Try their fried turnip cake with XO sauce.
Ordered meal, after 20 min of waiting they gave this meal to other guy))) he stated eating, they took it from him and gave me
Small dim sum spot in Chinatown. I've tried the Quincy location many times so I had high hopes for this one. This location is very small (a lot of room taken up by the bigger tables) so they only do orders off the menu, no carts. They have menus with English and pictures if you're worried about reading/speaking Chinese. We got the classics: shrimp dumplings, siu mai, bbq pork buns, rice noodle rolls, pork spareribs, bean curd rolls, and then because I love the stir fried radish cakes at the location, I also ordered that. The radish cakes are a bit oilier and cooked softer at this location, but still very flavorful with the XO sauce. FYI if you're coming with a smaller group or just 2 people, you might have to share a large table with other small groups. It can be a little difficult to get the attention of the staff, but overall we had a good time.
Authentic Dim Sum, good food
I liked it alot. great food at a great price.
Freshest Dim Sum we have ever had! Very friendly staff..
Cheap but tasty dim sum
Slightly above average food with fast service. Quiet eating experience (on a weekday) and easy to find. Picture menu is helpful. Bathroom could be cleaner though.
service disappointing.
Excellent, fresh dim sum. Lots of variety. No carts; you order from a check list. Usually pretty crowded.
Pros: Very affordable Dim Sum. Most of the patrons were Chinese. Tables can be shared with other guests (which might be a Con for you). Good selection of different small plates. Pretty fast service. Sticky rice was good. Dumplings were good. Cons: Bathroom is very very small. Food quality was hit or miss depending on the dish. Filling out our order slip was kind of difficult because of the ordering of the items vs the menu. Had to ask for condiments.
Winsor Cafe sells made to order dim sum and other round table Chinese dishes. Made to order dim sum is served all day so if you are craving dim sum dishes at night - this place is got your back! Note: There is dollar limit to swipe your credit card.
Great place. Friendly staff. Good food. Clean.
This place is pretty small, so rather than bringing carts around to you they'll have you fill out an order slip and then bring the food to your table when it's ready. If your group is small you may be asked to sit at a table with other parties. The scallion pancake and fried shrimp balls were outstanding. The pan fried pork dumplings were merely average. I would certainly come here again but there are so many other places in the area to try out that it might be a while before I go back.
This place is great. Very authentic, well cooked dim sum. From the chicken feet, to the egg yolk bao bun, to the shumais. Basically everything you get will be delicious. We ordered so much and everything was priced so cheap. I think amongst for people with leftovers we only paid 20 per person with tip with tip. The soup dumplings were probably my least favorite, I've had some really great ones before and this place did not give you enough. The exterior was a little thick and there was not much soup to begin. The tripe was delicious it had a nice barbecue taste. the shumai was perfectly done, so soft and there was so much shrimp. The ribs were very tender The turnip bites with bean sprouts or a bit on the oily side, but they were very addicting. Deep fried dumpling with minced pork inside was probably my favorite. The texture is just so odd that I enjoyed it so much. The fried shrimp was good, but not as juicy as I'd like. The shrimp dumplings were done well too. Great amount of shrimp and perfect with the spicy soy dipping sauce. I love the chicken feet, a nice subtle flavor of sweet Asian BBQ. The feet fell off the bone so easily. The egg yolk what's the star of the show. This is definitely a dessert. Keep in mind that you should keep your face away when popping open these babies. They squirt right up! the brightside about this place is that they serve hot tea with your meal. Great for digesting and it gives you enough space for more! The service is not up to par, but that's what you would get in Chinatown. You need to request more napkins and keep in mind their chili oil is extremely spicy. In Texas, artist don't come like that! If you're looking for a great price for authentic dim sum, come here!!
Food, both delicious and copious.
Excellent dim sum freshly prepared. We enjoyed the congee very much. The dumplings were fantastic.
One of my favorite places ever to go to! Whether it be with friends or by myself it's always such a comfy environment to be in. To non-asians the service might seem a bit sketchy or inconsistent but the way it works is that you call the server for anything, they aren't going to check up on you and even if they do it's when they have to bring you something. The prices are super affordable especially for college students. BRING CASH!!! When I eat by myself my bill usually isn't more than $15 which I think is the minimum for a card charge (correct me if I'm wrong) so I always bring cash with me to pay. Anyway! If you want some good dim sum that you don't have to get only during lunchtime, go here!
Absolutely fantastic dimsum that's quite cheap.
Good dimsum, in the middle of Chinatown. The fried stuff tofu is always crispy and tasty. It's the order via a paper slip rather than the hectic cart style dimsum. It gets pretty crowded on weekends and there is limited seating so get here before 10:30 to minimize the wait for a table. Very often you'd have to share a table.
The food is not bad here, but the woman in red cloth is not that kind...her tone was annoying.
We were disappointed of service. I was sit on the sharing round table. We didn’t finished yet the staff come to check often. Fast to keep the plates.the was good I like the chicken feet and shrimp pork shumai.
Extremely rude staff - service is beyond bad, the waitress was simply hostile. Food was also very bad, you can get better food by getting frozen dim sum from an Asian grocery store and microwave it.
Good prices and very tasty. Whenever I am in the mood for dim sum at lunch, I come here. It can get a little crowded during the lunch rush and you'll share your table, but the food comes out quick and fantastic. I will definitely be back
The food is delicious here, but don't expect much for decor or friendliness from the staff. Also they don't have a liquor license so be prepared for that. You really can't go wrong with any of the food options though, especially the chinese sausage buns. If you want something bigger than normal dim sum, the lo mein is fantastic.
Delicious!
Gets chaotically busy sometimes but tasty food that you can order to go make it a fine choice.
Takeout sucks - no sauce included for dumplings, they told me the wrong order number so I was just standing there looking at my food getting cold on the counter for 20 minutes till they gave it to me. It's a nightmare when there are too many people Beef belly szechuan style leaves a lot to be desired. Spring rolls are great!
Delicious dim sum to order. They take card and menu even has some pictures
Great food. We had the chicken feet, shrimp balls, pork and peanut dumplings, and the steamed buns with custard. Everything was great.
Worst service ever. Arrogant owner and bad food.
Great place for dim sum. Just as I remember it.
Good authentic Dim Sum place. Price is very reasonable. Shrimp rice noodles is my favorite. Steamed meatballs made with beef is also delicious. Service is just ok.
Food is pretty darn good, so don't expect anything from service. Will come back again for the food.
Shumai tastes weird. Rice noodle is not good. Mediocre.
A big selection of traditional dim sum plates including perfect fresh dumplings. Big shared tables in a cozy hole-in-the-wall. Very economical for a good meal.
Great menu with a wide selection of dim sum at somewhat reasonable prices.
So much yummyness. Quick service. Great way to duck out from the cold and grab a bite to eat in the winter time.
Left before I ordered, EXTREMELY RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Good dimsum place with fair price, small place with limit seats so there is usually a wait time.. parking spot is another concern when you visit China Town lol
My boyfriend and I were passing through Chinatown one late Sunday morning. We were actually on our way to a breakfast sammie spot, but then decided last minute to have dim sum instead, since we were in the area anyway. A quick Yelp search showed me Winsor Dim Sum Cafe and it was only a block away from where we were at, so that's how we decided on that place. As soon as we arrived, I realized that I had been to this spot 5 years earlier and remember thinking it was only okay. 5 years later, my opinion has not changed. Maybe I'm just used to NYC dim sum, but whenever I have dim sum outside of NYC, it just doesn't taste quite as good. Winsor will do it if you're in a bind and can't find any other dim sum place, but I'm sure Boston has got to have at least one better one out there. One thing I couldn't decide if I liked or not was their paper system of ordering, as opposed to them pushing the carts around. On one hand, the paper is very efficient - you just mark down the quantities of all of the items that you want. On the other hand, you won't know what the dim sum looks like until it actually comes out. So now, I'm writing this review so that if I go back to Boston in another 5 years, I'll know to look for a different dim sum joint.
If you want real dim sum in a place where everyone speaks Chinese, then this is it. A small living room space on a 3 story walk up with a grocery in the basement is our locale. Expect long lines and having to share a table. Minimum $20 on credit cards--there's no sign about this. You'll get a teapot of ridiculously hot green with whatever you order. Family style is expected.
Best dim sum all day every day!! Try their shrimp balls and you will keep coming back just for that.
Great dim sum, cozy space. Everything is to order (different than the traditional cart style dim sum) and come out hot and fresh. If you're a small party of 1-4 people be ready to share a large circular table with some friendly strangers.
Really one if the best all day dim sum places in Boston, I come here all the time with friends. Reasonable/cheap prices and they make it fresh to order. Also very easy to find what you want to order with pictures of the food. Good service when not too too busy. Only reason it doesnt get 5 stars is it doesn't have ALL the dim and the atmosphere like other cart places.
One of the favorite dim sum places in downtown.
We came to this restaurant because we heard it was the best... turns out that we went in with very high expectations. The food was not good. The meat wasn’t a lot, and the meat that we got, was undercooked. The dumplings are all mush on the inside. There was hair in our food as well. The only good item was the crab Rangoon. The service was not very good. They only really talked when we handed them our bill and cash. We were very disappointed with our experience here because the food was just plain bad. I suggest researching further into a new place to go for food and I hope that after reading this, you’ll second guess this place.
The dim sums were very good. Everything that I ordered tasted higher than my expectations.
I love Winsor Dim Sum! It's been my go-to place in Chinatown for the last eight years and I've tried a lot of the other places. I like that it's not cart, cause you can really order exactly what you want and it's very fresh. The turnip cake mixed with bean sprouts is my favorite thing, followed by the shark fin dumplings (due to their shape, not ingredients), rice and sausage wrapped in lotus leaf, chive dumplings, sesame balls, the cruller and rice cake things, stir fried shanghai noodles, and bean curd sheet. Soup dumping are unfortunately a miss, but lots of other great stuff to order!
Fun good dim sum liked fast seating with shared table.
Food was good, but waiting for seating takes a considerable time.
We had read about how great this place is. It did not disappoint. Having eaten dim sum for over 30 years I've had excellent, good, bad and down right yucky. This place is excellent, even rivals New York. We even went on Christmass Day, we will keep on going....
Fed 4 people for $30 and we were stuffed. Plus it was tasty.
Decent food that comes out very quick but sometimes not everything is available. It's pretty cheap and the atmosphere is quiet.
They rushed us out and forced us to pay tip with poor service. It is normally not like this and the service is normally better. The space is not very well decorated but it is not dirty or badly maintained. The food was great as always and at a good price. It's very good for a quick lunch. The food comes out very quickly and it's nice to drink the complimentary tea to warm up.
Came here when I visited Boston. There's an abundance of dim sum places in China Town but this place was recommended by the hotel as the most popular one. It sure was cause by 11:30am on a Sunday, it was full but turn over was pretty fast. Got sat in about 10 minutes and shared a table with others. We didn't mind cause we were there to chow down some good dim sum. Ordered the Steamed Shrimp Dumpling, Pork Shumai, Steamed Roast Pork Pun and Hot Sour Soup. The dim sum selections were soft, hot and filled with ingredients. Definitely not frozen. Also enjoyed the soup. It was piping hot, strong flavor with chunks of tofu, bamboo shoots, mushrooms and other goodies. The best part was the bill. It only was only about 15 bucks with tip. A bargain dim sum brunch indeed!
Absolutely amazing! Great prices! Chicken feet are a must!
We visited this place for the 1st time in search for good dim sum in Boston, unfortunately this will be our last time coming here and will be the same for all our families and friends due to not just the lack of customer service but down right rudeness treatment our group received from every single restaurant staff members since the moment we first walked through the door. We initially gave the benefit of the doubt to the 1st female staff member who took our order, chalking it up as "she may be having a rough day" when she rudely responded loudly with some grumpy look to our inquiries of a couple of menu items. But then we found out the other staff members also demonstrated the same demeanor by either giving us death stares or not even looking or acknowledging our simplest requests such as asking for a pair of chopsticks, removing a couple of empty containers when they came to bring out our foods, they just simply ignored and pretended to not even hear us as they continue to walk right past our table, not wanting to be bothered with. Of all the places we ate in Boston, this was the only restaurant that charged us for the tea brought on our table even though we did not order it. They never bothered to come by our table one time to check up on us or refill our water. From their demeanor, we were frankly scared to ask of anything else from them the entire time. They somehow expected a tip through all this! Their dim sum foods were not outstanding but decent, however with this type of poor service from their entire staff we encountered, not sure how this business will last in the long run(?) If minimum customer service is expected, then you are coming to a wrong restaurant in our opinion. We have never short changed anyone on tips except this one instance as a way of "constructive criticism" but this one last impression we want to point out, upon seeing our minimal tip left on the table, one of the waiter there (with a left earring) had the nerve when he bolted out the front door, asking us for more tip, we told him that was for poor service and he responded with the "F----" response. Sorry but do they not know what customer service is?
The food are average but the service is bad.
My favorite dimsum place in Chinatown, Boston , their chili oil is actually spicy.
Average selection. Not terrible but probably not first choice.
My love for dim sums increased manifold after i visited this place. The experience has been so amazing that i won't be able to stop myself from visiting this place again. The food was so tasty. Also , the ambience of place proved to be an add-on for such a fascination about it.
Loved it! Authentic Chinese food. Will definitely go back hereand recommend to families and friends
Good dimsum in a lively community setting. You are likely to be seated at big table with other guests which is fine by me. The food is tasty and some is unusual and very interesting.
Wonderful food. Sexy meal!!!
The dimsum is Great here. Instead of carts being pushed around while the food gets cold, Winsor takes ur order and prepares it, so the food is always warm. Not to mention, it's delicious as well. This place is fairly popular, so it can get really packed in the morning. As for improvement, the only thing they need is more space.
Very good dim sum, not quite a 5 star but close. Maybe just a bit too much oil in some dishes and lacking a little flavor in others, but would definitely go again. The spare ribs and chicken feet were spot on, as was the pork wrapped in bean curd. Eggplant with shrimp and lotus leaf glutinous rice were ok, not great. The chicken congee was great as was the special white turnip cake dish. Small place and it gets busy. normal service for a dim sum house, i.e., dont expect the staff to bend over backwards for you, but you'll get everything you ordered hot, fresh, and properly cooked.
Terrible service. We shared a table with 2 other parties and waited over 30 minutes after ordering. They didn't bring up the ordered food in 30 minutes. We walked out.
Great food, fast paced service.
Super authentic--rudeness and all. Great mix and match.
Honestly just okay. Ordered the house pork dumplings and the shrimp dim sum. Certainly not bad, but nothing amazing. I'm a little puzzled by the reviews raving about the place. I first tried dim sum in Philadelphia and they were much tastier than here. Still, the dim sum are decent price and tasty if you're hungry.
First time having dim sum, huge variety and easy to order. Come in large froups so you can mix and match.
Good dim sum with plenty of food for 5 for about $40. I won’t remember everything we ordered to comment on each item, but I’ll throw a few out. The turnip cake was decent, right texture, maybe a little over cooked. The dumplings were good. The sticky rice rolls were good. I’d been craving hot and sour soup, so I got one of those, too, and it was tasty, very mushroom heavy, for whatever use that information has to you. We put our names down around 11 on a Saturday and were told it would be a 20-25-minute wait, which was about right or a little over, so we went to one of the many nearby boba places. The volume wasn’t bad, we were able to have a comfortable conversation even around a relatively large table set for 7. Service was good, very quick and attentive.
The dim sum over here is great! And the clam tasted so good, I love that sauce!
Food-wise...probably the best dim sum in Boston. Customer service-wise...not so great, sadly. I had friends visiting from Europe and we had an entire night planned out to visit museums, see a show, and go to Winsor Dim Sum for dinner which (per Google and their door) is supposed to be 10:00 PM. It was 9:20 PM when we arrived and they refused to serve us. We end up going to another dim sum restaurant in the area that closed at 10:00 and they were happy to take our business!
Boston has a small Chinatown (CT); but, still a decent 1 as they have some essential places 2 go 2.. this I say is not 1 of them, but it was our 1st stop when we came here.. Siu Mai tasted like it had a 3 day old flavor.. didn't taste fresh n definitely off Shark Dumplings on the other hand tasted better; but, no.. sorry wife, u r not going 2 get ur 1st chance in tasting shark Busy place but perhaps there is a better dim sum place somewhere else here in CT?
The food is so good here. I love all the steam buns and dumpling options. And can we talk about the sesame balls?!?? Will def come back.
We discovered this place when visiting our son at college. They have dozens of varieties of dim sum and they are all excellent.
Decently vegetarian friendly, can be fine without someone who speaks Chinese
This is not a cart dimsum place. You pick it of the menu/sheet and they will bring them to you. Also it has lot of non did options like noodles and rice. Also the wait staff speaks English. That is a big plus for me because I don't know Chinese. It's a small space. And you'll have to share the table with strangers if you don't want to wait long. Food was decent and decently priced.
Great Food. Tasty dim dums... Highly recommend!
Can't say enough about this restaurant. Absolutely the best dim sum resturant in the area. I've never been disappointed in anything I've ordered. Community seating/tables are fun and offer a different experience. Highly recommend this restaurant over others in the area.
We really enjoyed our visit to Winsor Dim Sum! Can understand why some people might not be comfortable with the experience (they just need to experience a little more life imo). We went just before lunch so it was already crowded and we had to wait 20 minutes before getting seats. Our server was great and we ordered multiple rounds of items. It was lunch and we never felt rushed to finish.. but we also weren't just hanging out. Going to make this a stop every time we are in BOS
My favorite dim sum place! I especially love the pork buns, custard buns, sesame balls, and rice noodle rolls. Very reasonable prices too. Dining room is very small and can get crowded easily, but well worth the wait, in my opinion.
Can't go wrong with Boston Chinatown dim sum.
Terrible service, messes up your orders, and will chase you down because your tip was "too low"
Delicious & fast, consistent quality, & friendly, efficient service. My go-to dim sum locale.
I personally think Boston has a lower bar for chinese foods. Personally, I think all the dimsum foods in China town here are frozen foods. Will not come back.
Food is fantastic, and certainly the best steamed pork dumplings I've had in Boston. Dim Sum looks killer, I'll be back.
Not very welcoming and the food was not that good, I would not recommend this place.
Its a pretty good place to go during the weekend and this is where I prefer to go to in chinatown
Although I do not crave Dim Sum as much as some of my family and friends, I really like place. Smaller feel than most other Dim Sum restaurants, less busy, and a la carte.
Great coffee
Terrible service. Extremely snobbish servers. Cya. Btw Boston does have a lower bar for Chinese food.
Simply the estimate din sum in Boston! Menu a bit limited, but sufficient for most needs.
Horrible service!! Very rude servers. Ignored us most of the time. When we asked to order after 10 minutes, she said she was “too busy” and rolled her eyes! Then I saw her do this to another table! We had to ask for water 3 times and actually got up to get it. Good food but horrible service!!
So good!!!
Awful service. Wanted to go here for dinner. Host said the wait would be 2 minutes for our party of 6. We waited by the door for 5+ minutes and watched him literally clean a table in front of us and began to set up the table with 6 plates and cups. Some guy came in speaking to him in Chinese, assuming to get a table...the host literally took a plate and cup off the table and gave the other guy the table even though no one in his party was there. Then he told us to wait 2 minutes...so we left and never going back.
Don't go there with baby. They will extend the wait time even there is nobody in the line.
