First time trying it today which was my birthday and the food was absolutely delicious! Got the BBQ pulled chicken with sweet potatoes, yummy!! Great flavor and good size portions. Service was great as well! Got a nice birthday dessert as well, was a great time celebrating my birthday at the smoke shop. Will definitely be back

Jon Simpson

Loved it, treat BBQ. My wife's smoked turkey was great, not dry and was a hit. Had the 3 meat pit boss and it was lovely. Pulled pork, Texas brisket and burnt ends. 3 sauces Gold Medal, Sweet Victory and Hot Streak were all great. Kids meals were generously sized and great value (really good quality home made chicken nuggets). Staff were great and we'd highly recommend you visit - just not when were here as we would like to get a seat in the future :-)

Jerry T

Attentive and polite waitstaff... orders taken promptly and food received amazingly fast... good portions...had 6 in our party... all would highly recommend... excellent BBQ pulled pork

Shaina Sullivan

A surprise find! Delicious BBQ, awesome beer selection, and great service. Glad my family happened hungry by this place! The kids Mac and cheese was delicious and the burnt ends were our table favorite! No complaints whatsoever about our late lunch.

David Wells

Good bbq for the Boston area. Right near the childrens mesuem and the BCEC

Kevin Sagan

Food was EXTREMELY good, and cheap by seaport standards

Kevin Gandy

This is a fun spot for great bbq. I got the burnt ends sandwich and it was top notch. The bbq sauces are also really great. I highly recommend the Brussel sprouts and sweet potato mash. The “sweet tea” was a bit off but it’s the north so I’ll forgive this.

Keith Blackwell

NOBODY does BBQ better than these guys! Melt in your mouth, fall off the bones BBQ you expect... plus some really original twists on side orders that will surprise, yet everyone will love. Service excellent. Chef Andy Husbands & staff have outdone themselves again! Needs 6 stars!!!

Attila Szabó

Amazing American BBQ with friendly service. Very tasty meats and sides

John Sullivan

Personally thing it's the best BBQ in Boston, has all of the classic options and each is done very well (burnt ends are a must). Quick, professional service, and always has a solid beer list (they rotate local Trillium beers, also a huge fan). Highly recommend if looking for good BBQ in the area, especially as there aren't many options

Jenny Moyryla

The Sunday/Monday only baby back ribs are stellar! All around great meal, sides included. I hate when you get good ribs and then the slaw and beans and cornbread are underwhelming. We did not leave anything behind at The Smoke Shop. Whiskey list was also pretty great, even if some of the drams on the menu were no longer available.

Nicolas Joly

Horrible BBQ.. dry meat that's not tender. Mediocre sides and service.. cannot believe how bad this is, especially for the price. Drink menu looks impressive though.

Madeline Carignan

Great bbq for Boston. Big location and the meat was delicious and tender. Get the wings they’re the best by far

Mark Ott

Celebrated my 43rd birthday with my one true love/wife. We both thoroughly enjoyed our combo platters and will definitely be back for more!

Ken Sze

Great portions and very good BBQ sauce selection. Come here for lunch and drinks after work. Place is always busy with friendly staff.

Max Dixon

Good food, not a huge selection though

Nate Vigil

Great local BBQ spot. I tried the pulled pork and brisket. The portion size was great and the food was fantastic. The place was busy on a holiday weekend and I still received great service! I would highly recommend this place for local bbq.

Eric Morra

The food is ok. Not great for the price. None of the BBQ sauces offered are any good, which makes the rest of the meal dry. All the dishes are very salty. The cornbread was terrible...... how do you mess that up? The service couldn’t have been worse. No one ever came to take the bill or clear our food or offer us the bill. We sat at the table for 45 minutes before walking up to the front to pay. Overall miserable experience, I would never go back.

Matthew Albert

Went here on a Tuesday at lunchtime and was able to easily secure a two-seater. The space is open and airy, but retains that great "I'm in a good BBQ place" smell. Good portions for the price. I had a combo with Pulled pork, brisket (which was served on some kind of bread with cheese), corn bread with honer butter, and BBQ baked beans. The pickles were excellent, and I ate most of them with a bite of the pulled pork, dipped in one of 3 sauces (traditional, spicy, golden). Highly recommend for lunch.

S L

Fun place. Good food. Nice staff.

Vince Beard

Ribs are good. Catfish was pleasantly more plentiful than expected. Seems like a nice place to hangout.

Natalie Fiol

This restaurant has everything. Lively ambiance, fantastic food and a highly attentive wait staff. On top of it, the prices are great! My husband and I are doing keto, and when the wait staff saw us scooping the rice out of our bowls, (it wasn’t listed on the menu description) they quickly took our bowls back and brought out new ones without the rice. We didn’t ask them, they just did it. The burnt ends are delicious and The wings are perfect! We highly recommend this restaurant! It’s our favorite restaurant in Boston!

Mary Larrousse

Brisket was great. Was a bit more food than I could finish.

Miguel Alvarado

This place is great! Full of character and a huge selection of food and drinks. Great place to go for an after work drink!

Christopher Hartford

Great food, good drinks, right in Boston's booming Seaport district. It was super loud though.

Kelly Michael Skelton

Nice stop for lunch in a good area of the city. The pulled pork is very tasty and the prices are fair.

Erica Johnson

I can make better bbq at home. Wasn't impressed. Service was slow and they weren't busy.

Gregory Malecha

It was alright but fairly expensive for a BBQ place and not as good as RedBones or Blue Ribbon.

Anthony Craig Evans

Great BBQ food. Good prices. Great service

Abdullah Zahrani

It is outstanding restaurant, one of the best restaurant that serves brisket. It is very delicious and nice service.

Casey Hoorelbeke

The pork belly burnt ends were really good, but the sides were lacking. Cornbread was cold and dry, sweet potato mash was plain. Kids meal Mac n cheese was huge, and not great, but not bad either. For a bbq place it really did take a long time for the food to come out, even when it was not busy at all.

Kevin Candiloro

I've spent plenty of time in places like Alabama, Texas, and North Carolina where BBQ is a point of pride, but I think this was the best BBQ I've ever had. I ordered the burnt ends and pulled chicken which were both amazing. Corn bread was very good and the touch of sea salt on top was great. The pit beans were also very tasty with a mustard spice to them. I would definitely go back here the next time I am in the area.

Andrew

The BBQ brisket is among the best I have had. The hot wings are great too, but eat them last. Excellent staff and clean facilities.

Kenny Strecker

Great bbq and decent whiskey selection. Perfect place to get a quick bite or easy a full on feast!

Jesse Morgan

When you think of Boston, you don't think of barbecue. but let me tell you, the next time I am in Boston I am eating here again because it was absolutely delicious.

Sara Lambeth

Great food and atmosphere. Love Boston and seafood but it was a nice break to find a bbq restaurant

Tobi W.

Outstanding experience, the passion of Andy for BBQ is infectious :) thanks for the awesome food and the conversation

Ashley Frazier

The server Nike (I know I'm saying it wrong but it's like that.) He was great and very knowledgeable I had the bbq fries no cheeses sauce I used the hot bbq sauce and its hot but freaking awesome. My coworkers food was amazing also

Helen White

I brought a large party for dinner to celebrate the holidays. It was approximately 12 adults and three children (children: 1 being age 2 and the other 2 were age 5). I was told to pay for 15 people. I refused to pay for $35. per child. I was told that all meats were all included and the amount was unlimited at $35. per person. Afterwards, I was told later that fish and fried chicken wasn't included with an apology. When I received my bill, I was charged for 13 people. In addition, fee for chicken which should have been included with the unlimited meats. When we asked to replenish the meat portions for a party of 15 we received a 6 pieces of chicken! We didn't experience good customer service!

muscman70

Burnt ends sandwich was a great bbq! Perfect taste and the collard greens were also good. Just like down south!

Chris Dalton

Omg, hands down THE best brisket in the North! I got the 4oz. brisket plate, 4 hours later I was still full! This will be a must-go place every time in in Boston.

Charles Buote

Great bbq, casual setting with a great staff

Dave Gilman

Perfectly large portions and incredibly good food. A little too much hot spice on the meat but certainly not a turn off, I would suggest slightly less spice and allow patrons to add their own to taste. Great atmosphere. Large open concept with large windows, high ceilings and TVs. Extremely friendly staff and properly timed service.

Jim McGloin

I stopped by here on a Wednesday for lunch with a friend. We had the Mac and cheese balls, pork belly with apples, brisket sandwich and the wings. First let me say that up until this day I felt like I knew my way around a chicken wing. I knew what I liked and what made them wonderful. These wings changed all that for the better. Simply put, I have never had a chicken wing like this. Now you may say "this guy needs to have more wings if he was surprised." to that I say go down to this location or the one in Cambridge and see if these don't change your perspective of wings entirely. These are the wings Jesus would eat if Jesus came back and wanted chicken wings. Nice bark, good smoke flavor and a touch of this finishing powder they sprinkle on almost everything before it leaves the kitchen. It's a combination of salt, sugar, spice everything nice and what I can only imagine is unicorn dust. Mac and cheese balls. How do they get them so creamy and rich inside and so crispy and fried out side?!? Again, the only option I see is magic. I've madeac and cheese balls but they never come out like this. How?!?! Smoked brisket sandwich. Pick an adjective that you hear people say when something excededs their expectations. Tender, juicy, perfect smoke ring. Unreal. Again, I thought I knew smoked brisket. Andy Husbands proves me wrong. Pork belly with apples. The apples were cooked down just enough to still have some crispness and not mushy. This adds a mouth feel and contrast to the soft and decidant pork. Run, don't walk , to Smoke Shop BBQ. Check it out. If you don't like it come back here and tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. But you won't because it's fantastic.

Chase Darden

Absolutely fantastic. Wings, pulled pork, sides, lemon-limeade.. Very legit BBQ.

Ian Reeves

Huge disappointment, restaurant looked great and was busy. Food was cold and ribs were hard work to get off the bone. Positives, great beans.

Milton Corbin

Great food & Excellent service!!!! Can't wait to go back.

Anna Tsisar

Although we had to wait a bit for our food, it was delicious! We were welcomed in right away and very wonderfully. It wasn’t crazy packed and it’s very nicely decorated. It had a very modern feel to it, and the staff was very helpful. The food was made very well, and the ribs were perfectly juicy. Everyone with me was obsessed with their sides. It was refreshing to know that although the sides aren’t as crucial as the main meal, they are still just as cared for.

Amber O.

-1 star for the busser moving a table next to us and knocking over a bottle of BBQ sauce which splattered down my husband's leg and foot. No apology and the busser left the pool of sauce on the ground by our feet. My husband ended up wiping it up himself. -1 star for the food coming to our table luke warm and dry. The burnt end were dry, the ribs were bone dry, the brisket was dry, and the pulled pork was dry. You don't need sauce with good BBQ, the sauce is there to just enhance. This food needed the sauce and two glasses of water to get down. The corn bread was a side piece so the dry over cooked edge wasn't edible. -1 star for the service. The waitress didn't come by again after taking our order until we were done. Waited another 20 minutes until she brought the check. The tables that were by us all waited just as long for their checks too. Probably in cahoots with the lot next door that charges $17 for the first hour.

Brittany Sibenaller

Our waiter was great and gave wonderful recommendation to try the catfish. My husband had the catfish and it was amazing. I had a brisket sandwich and it was some of the best I've had. Their BBQ sauce was delicious and we got our food very quickly! What a great spontaneous stop for us travelers!

Faisal Radwi

The food is good and so are the portions. Environment is excellent. I would recommend this place whether casual gathering or for a date.

Travis McGinnis

Great atmosphere and even better drinks!

Lori Stammer

What a disappointment. Haven’t even eaten but really when you have to hold the bathroom door shut and do stuff doesn’t make for fun experience. I won’t even go into slooooow service.

Samantha D

Getting out of a Boston restaurant for less than $40 total for dinner for 2 was awesome, so was the food! Pulled pork platter for him, catfish sandwich for me. Was a busy Saturday early evening, but our server was efficient and very pleasant.

Patrick Bell

Not bad, but not great. I had the 2 meat combo, ribs and brisket. Ribs were overcooked, brisket was melt in your mouth great. The bread under the brisket was hard like someone heated it a microwave too long. My cornbread was great, but the collard greens weren't hot and they were too dry.

Conor McCarthy

Great bbq, but not cheap. Cant go wrong with the brisket. Mac and cheese left something to be desired. Great beer and whiskey selection.

Azure

This is a delicious barbecue restaurant, one of the best places you can eat meat outside of the South.

Beta Zed

Good bbq. Friendly service. Easy spot to go for lunch and a beer.

Andrew Nelson

Good ribs, and good brisket but was sliced in a weird way. It looks like they sliced horizontally through the brisket (???), because there was virtually no bark on that strangely long slice. Just a big slab of greyish pink meat, which itself was tasty but nowhere near as good if they sliced it properly. Fat is flavor. Spice is flavor. Spice is life.

Wesley Toma-Lee

Awesome food, and great service.

Eli Torres

I love this place; the atmosphere, the staff, and most of all, the food!! I thought I wasn't going to be impressed by the BBQ chicken, but oh my stars! Delicious. Can't want to go back for the brisket!

Jordan Lapointe

Nice atmosphere, quite loud, but everyone seems happy. Service great, welcoming, and the food was lovely.

Laurie Arshonsky

Best Wedge salad ever with succulent Heirloom tomatoes, big chewy bacon cubes, and 1/4 head of iceberg lettuce! I added red onions and green goddess dressing with the inventive chef’s poppy seeds and it was stupendous! The pulled pork with sweet and spicy barbecue sauce was lovely too! Did I mention our friendly, well trained server? She was the bomb! Thanks so much!

Janet Long

The cornbread was dry & the sweet potato was nothing special. The brisket was okay. Our server was very nice though.

Julien Lafleur

Great lunch spot. The service has been fast and friendly, my order accurate, and the cashier had given good advice. Since my first visit, I've tried the brisket, burned ends, and pulled pork. All of them have been great. Try. The. Cornbread. Best Ever. Can't wait to go there for dinner.

Antoine Stewart

The Smoke Shop went above and beyond! This past Thursday we ordered via Caviar and to say the least if I could give Caviar a ZERO rating I would. They not only failed to deliver our food, we confirmed that the delivery person definitely picked up the order. We verified with Smoke Shop and called to place a new order. They not only kept the kitchen open, but they covered the cost when it wasn't their fault. The Ribs, Mac & Cheese, Collard Greens and The deliciously dangerous Corn Bread was best BBQ I've had in Boston. I've eaten here with my wife a couple months ago and their customer service is as close to southern hospitality you're going to get in Boston. I'll be back, oh I will be back. The corn bread alone is enough to pawn jewelry if it meant my next meal would be here! I told the manager that I will make sure I write this review and his response was "As long as you eat the food first"

Hunter Herman

Just stopped in here for a bit and boy am I glad I did. I got a cranberry mule and it was by far one of the best I've had! The bartender recommended the brisket and it was amazing. Go try it!

Erich Kirchubel

Great BBQ joint with an extensive menu of meat and a respectable drink menu. Fast service, lots of seating, attentive staff, awesome food.

Graham Porell

I was very impressed with my meal at the Smoke Shop recently - the food is one of the best barbeque places in Boston. The Ribs and burnt ends were amazing. Great job!

Ian Cameron

Great barbeque at a fair price

Barrett Wilson

Delicious smoked meat in every kind with three different kinds of sauces available at the tables. These guys take their meat seriously. The tacos were fantastic. Highly recommended for your meat eating friends. Highly not recommended to friends who eat salad. But who makes friends with salad?

Patrick Laferriere

A little pricey but good food.

Karl Fernandez

Great service and food. Real BBQ!

Steve Allen

Had takeaway rather than eating in. Burnt ends were fantastic, best I've had outside of Texas. Ribs were good but honestly not quite cooked enough for me, I prefer falling off the bone and more color but the sauce was great. I'd definitely recommend going, and will again next time I'm in Boston.

Phoenix Dean

It was amazing, everything we had ordered came out fast and it was very good. The service was excellent as well as the environment.

Ashley Pezzone

I was super impressed with the Smoke Shop BBQ. The food was absolutely amazing and I was shocked at how fast they got the food out to our table of 4. Everything tastes delicious and the group I went with almost ordered every meat and side that they had in the restaurant. If you are looking for great BBQ, go to The Smoke Shop BBQ!

Thoughtful Lifecoach

My first time at this place, cornbread is out of this world. The best I have ever had. Chicken wings are delish, moist and just perfect. I ordered a bbq salad, couldn't eat it so much food. I will definitely check this spot again. Relaxed environment, the waiter took our order and lets us enjoy our food. Outstanding place.

Alec Parmer

Food was great, customer service was awesome, and food came out in no time

Tomáš Bzdušek

Although this place has very decent reviews on Google Maps, our experience was to a large extent negative. Loud music, bad acoustics, too much noise -- I was not able to hear people sitting just two seats away. The food was mostly fine (although the "mud pie" was way too much sugary to my taste). The waiter didn't remember what we ordered and brought us some incorrect items. But this was all tolerable. The most annoying part of our visit was paying the bill. The service was so slow that this took almost an hour. Some of us paid cash, but we didn't have the exact amount of dollars. The waiter assumed that the extra money was all tip -- he didn't wonder why the "tip" is as high as 70%, and simply kept all the extra money. He returned us the change only after we complained, but it took a lot of time and waiting. I am unlikely to recommend this place.

Sarah Vee

We wanted to eat here, it smelled delicious and the menu had a lot of good choices. The restaurant was not busy, as this was an early lunch time on a weekday. Our waiter had taken such a long time to acknowledge us and get our drink order that we also placed our food order at the same time, he then took about 10 min before bringing us 2 of our 3 (party of 3)drinks (we had to remind/request the 3rd one). Unfortunately we were seated at our table for over 40 minutes and our waiter hadn't even placed our appetizer order yet. He said there was confusion between waiters and that another waiter told him that he had taken our order. He didn't show us that his service would get any better, and we were hungry so we left.

Emile P

Really good bbq

Mercedes Bush

Amazingly great food and good service.

Drew Wolsey

Really great. Seated immediately. Food came out super quick. We had the brisket, burnt ends, pulled pork, and enjoyed them all. My wife and I shared a "Pit Boss" and it was the perfect amount of food (But we're lightweights). Live the watermelon that came with the meal. Would come back for sure.

Bret Leatherwood

Too salty/seasoned for my pulled pork. I am from NC. Need to add vinegar sauce.

Cary Eyges

Best food anywhere!

Tony C

Not bad ... I give the food 3.5 out of 5 ... Understand we're from Texas... So a little spoiled with BBQ ... But service was 5 out of 5 ... Great place to eat...

Pow3rSerg

Great food portion sizes where ok sweet discount for rolling a 14 die for pax east 2019 so we got 14% off the bill

Jeffrey K

This place was great. Meat on meat on meat with a side of meat. I am pretty sure there were veggies there, but they were shadowed by the mountain of meat on my platter. Truth though, we found this place when we were just wandering around Boston and I am glad we did. Service was great, food was amazing (get the burnt ends), price was reasonable (for downtown Boston), and the staff was on point. I'll be back in Boston again next year for PAX East and I will be making an reservation here.

Jim Riley

Food was just okay. Prices were reasonable for the area. Pulled pork sandwich was small for the price, BBQ sauces were bland.

Brian S

New to the area and a coworker recommended I try here. I had the turkey sandwich, fries, and 1/4 bbq chicken. The portions were good sized & filling. The food was excellent. One issue was a missing item. The takeout is wrapped and was sealed with a sticker so I didn't notice a missing item until I got home. Tried calling, email, and DM tweet with no response...if you have a problem you probably need to go back in person.

julie frey

Great place and Sara is the best bartender there ... Hands down!

William Joachim

I'm changing my review after a third visit. I'd rate this 3 stars over all for bbq but service is really good. Mac and cheese fritters are amazing, wings are perfect sweet and smokey, ribs are well done. Brisket is wonderful. Pulled pork is spicy but done well. My complaint is small. There is an over use of vinegar in a lot of dishes. The pit beans are more vinegar based rather than bbq, the Texas toast for some reason has a very unpleasant mustard flavor, corn bread while tasty and I love the honey butter topped bit is very dry. The flavor profiles don't mix well for some reason. Still one of the best bbq joints in Boston but compared to the rest of the country only in the middle at best.

Kate Priest

Absolutely spectacular. Went here just because i was in the area, had never been before. Oh my, was it heaven im my mouth. I had some friends with me and we all ordered different things and very single thing that was brought to the table was so delicious.

Christopher Catchpaw

Great food !! Superb service

Betty Salemme

My husband Mike and I had the best barbecue ever at The Smoke Shop in the Seaport! Our server Stephanie was so welcoming and fun, she also really knows the menu and she offered amazing options for us. Which we took her up on. We had delicious hot wings, an incredible full slab of ribs, brisket, corn bread and so much more. What a feast, the whole menu appealed to us and we know barbecue well. Great selection of cocktails and a fun bar with lots of big screen TV's make this restaurant a must in our book. We are going to make this a regular stop for us and of course we have to sit in Stephanie's section, she is our new best friend.

Vika Tsisar

Unfortunately had to wait for a long time and it wasn't crazy busy.... Food wasn't hot, little too dry and salty.... Don't want to come back here :( Though people were nice

Kerline Hilaire

This place is amazing.... I went with a few family members back in November and today had it ordered for team lunch and everyone was left happy and full of course. Thank you for quick service and leaving out tummies full! I would definitely recommend this place!

Mrs G

We went on a Saturday evening and we didn’t wait long for a table. They were quite busy too. The food was tasty and I loved the courgette salad!! The ladies restrooms were a mess and so unclean. The music in the establishment was so loud that our waiter could hardly hear our order and we couldn’t hear each other speak so we just ate our meals in silence. This was over and above all the shouting and laughing going on from all the other customers around us. Waiter also had an uninterested demeanor so we just ate and left as fast as we could.

Derek Pajaczkowski

Very disappointing. This is a big featureless space without any character. Service is lackluster and the BBQ, when it arrived, was bland. It was cooked well enough but without any seasoning so it needed liberal quantities of sauce and a bit of salt to taste of anything. Sides are okay with the exception pimiento mac and cheese, which tasted of absolutely nothing. Decent cocktail to start. I won't repeat and you should give it a miss...

Kyle Sinclair

Good food and a nice atmosphere in the seaport. Not the best BBQ in the city but very good!

Lois Carter

Everything was great! From the brisket to the pork belly. Go there to be filled to the top with good comfort foods.

Lars Kellogg-Stedman

The burnt ends were very tasty.

pyrojodge won

Always a favorite stop if I'm in town.

David Saunders

Excellent bbq. I had the brisket. It comes out in a tender slab of beef. I married it with bacon collards and cornbread. Buttery with sea salt. Fun place.

Rich

Today I had one of the best baby back ribs ever. Their local seasoning with black pepper was delicious, the meat was melting off the bones. I also had the pit beans as a side and it was perfectly prepared. Really great food and the portions are generous for a reasonable price! ... Also one last thing... The staff is super friendly.

Jan Wieck

Excellent food and service.

John H

Delicious bbq with sizeable portions. Brisket and burnt ends were delicious as were the pickles. Jalapenos were actually spicy. Nice atmosphere with plenty of space around tables.

Caitlyn Shutts

Fantastic service and amazing food! The sides seal the deal.

Chris Kolacz

The smoke shop has set the benchmark for BBQ joints. The photos don’t do it justice. I would bath in the BBQ sauce and dance with the brisket.

Kai Pöhlig

Food was cold, otherwise nice place.

John Amaral

First visit ever. First off, the corn bread is amazing! The pimento mac & cheese was so good I wish it was an entire entree. The pulled pork sandwich had a good portion of meat, and my wife enjoyed the sweet potato mash. I got the brisket sandwich - now I know brisket is not a lean meat, but when your sandwich is 50% inedible fat globules, one feels insulted as a customer. At least offer us the option of normal vs lean. Needless to say, we will definitely visit again, but stay away from the Brisket.

Brian Lin

Got the 1/2 rack of ribs...it was excellent. My kids order the chicken fingers/nuggets which they did not like. Word of caution, if you're kids won't eat dark meat get them something else. The cornbread was tasty too.

Julia Hansen

Service is FAST and staff is very friendly! Atmosphere is somewhat noisy with there being a sports bar right in the open. You get a good amount of meat in a sandwich, and more in a platter, so bring your appetite. The flavor of the meat is excellent, but it's a little dry, which is disappointing. Cornbread is delicious but doesn't stand out from a crowd, coleslaw is okay, mashed sweet potatoes & beans & collards are all good. Note that meals also come with a slice of watermelon.

Jon Sonnenschein

Rock solid BBQ. Order the burnt ends, collards, beans and mac. Cornbread and pickles were great too. Great service with a smile. Extensive whiskey list. Strongly recommended. One nitpick, I like my food hotter, please consider warming the ‘cue a bit more before serving.

Matthew Braithwaite

Service is good and I've never had to wait long for a table, but not a big fan. The meat is usually cooked well, though a bit dry. Not a fan of the sauce selection to be honest. Good place to bring a larger group of people/they've often easily put a few tables together for us. Not crazy about the place, but a solid choice when looking for something everyone can agree on.

Colette Tom

We share some wings and the pit boss and portion was enough if you are not big eaters. The smoke turkey wasn't too dry for turkey breast. The ribs were good. The burnt ends was a bit dry for me, but was my husband's favorite. Collard green with bacon was good, but a bit spicy. Potato salad was creamy and good. Cornbread could be a bit more moist. Kid's pasta was generous and comes with sides for $5. The reason for one less star is could mention the item on the menu that are spicy.

Kimberly Miller

Fantastic experience! We had lunch catered for a party at our house and the food was absolutely delicious, delivered hot and exactly on time! My in-laws are from the south, so when they said this was some of the best BBQ they’ve ever had, you know it’s good stuff! We got the pulled pork, burnt ends, turkey, cornbread, and mac and cheese — all amazing! As well, the communication with the catering director, Laura, was great. She provided all the info I needed quickly and was very friendly. Thanks to the chefs and crew for making our son’s birthday party even better with some great food for our guests! We will be ordering for future parties for sure!

J. S.

Nice location, TV screens all over, cool music and really tasty food. Highly recommended, if looking for BBQ resto in Waterfront area...

Hannah Koehn

Kid friendly environment, food is quick to arrive and always pretty good. It's a bit pricey, but the menu offers a nice variety including several vegetarian dishes.

Andrea M

Delicious food, nice music, good service. Must try the peach iced tea. #bbq #seaport

Patric Docmanov

Excellent cuisine. Chef Dasia knows what shes doing. Burnt ends are to die for.

Rose Reeve

Great food!!! Not surposed to have your hair down and playing with your hair ESPECIALLY when your serving food!!!! That totally made my stomach turn. Im a waitress bartender and if your hair isn't up you dont work in this industry... Waitstaff needs to step it up. Ruining a great place to eat!! I dont want hair in my food. Do you??

John Camargo

Great place for barbecue and beer!

Lorie Ellsworth

Food was good, prices and service good. Only complaint is that it was loud, acoustics not very good.

Joseph Sickinger

Order the pork belly burnt ends!! For those who never had, it's the best BBQ food you can get! Better than ribs and pulled pork.

Ben Holloran

Very good and very tasty

Dan Sullivan

Outstanding all around - loved the brisket!

Carrie Medley

my husband and I were exhausted, fresh off a crazy long day at a conference and we were starving so we stopped here, with low hopes because we love bbq and hey, its Boston, not Louisville. Wow- we were blown away! we were given excellent service by the 2 bartenders on duty (Saturday night- one was from n'orleans). everything- we mean everything- was great. we had pork burnt ends, burnt ends, brisket and pulled pork. dang! also THANK YOU for having the best whiskey selection and GREAT COLE SLAW! why is that hard to find?!

Emma Alvarez

I had two different experiences there. The first one it was so good, my husband and me went for dinner and sit on the bar, the food was amazing, great pulled pork, wings, corn bread and we ordered beers; the bartender was really good and gave us recomendations. The second time we were there, it was ok; the server seemed a little indifferent but was courteous enough. Our drinks were ok, my husband didnt like his after the first sips and asked the waiter for a beer instead,. We got our food and it was not the same as last time we were there, the quality did not seem as good and the meats and sides all seemed dry and stale. The waiter did not seem to care that we left a decent portion of our meal and drinks unconsumed. Over all a disappointing experience.

I can always smell the smoke and meat on my shirt or pants the next day... And I wish it never went away. Great place to go with friends so you can all split different apps and share the literal trays of wonderful meat you can get. Definitely need to try the brisket fries and all of the different BBQ sauces on the table with whatever you end up getting.

Very solid place for some BBQ. The brisket was killer, and I ended up needing an embarrassing number of napkins to clean my beard after the ribs. I'd highly recommend going here as a group, ordering up a bunch of different things and eating family style.

If you're visiting Boston, I must warn you about parking; it is not NYC like, but meters are limited and very little time per quarter. Atmosphere is great, staff is nice and food is quite tasty. I ordered the pulled pork w sweet and spicy coleslaw & sprouts. Portion is reasonable, but if you like to pig-out, then you'll need an additional side order. Prices are very fair, I'd give $$ out of $$$$.

The host told us they were out of fries which was ok. We then order our drinks and food and were then told they were out of half of the menu (chicken, fried, ribs, Mac and cheese). In addition, there was a sign in restroom offering a discount for PAX attendees; when we asked and showed our badges we were told ‘no’ (flyer said offer good till 3/31 - they went in restrooms and removed fliers). Frustrated by all of this, we kindly asked to speak with a manager and were told it would be a few minutes so we left.

A surprise find! Delicious BBQ, awesome beer selection, and great service. Glad my family happened hungry by this place! The kids Mac and cheese was delicious and the burnt ends were our table favorite! No complaints whatsoever about our late lunch.

David Flaherty

Great barbecue food. Visiting from out of town and would highly recommend this place. Cooked so perfectly you don't even need the sauce.

Nathan Wait

This was a surprising find for us in Boston, bbq here is sparce but this was a very nice spot. The staff was very busy the whole time we were in so it took time for our food and drinks but they were good and fresh when we got them. We will definitely be back

Great restaurant in multiple regards. The BBQ itself is flavorful and good. It's hard to find good BBQ in Boston, and while I'm sure this isn't the same as the pit bosses make in the south, it definitely holds its own! I like the way they do their flavors. I know there are many styles but I prefer mine more smokey with a spice kick and a hint of sweet. I don't care as much for the very sweet BBQ sauces. They do their BBQ the way I like it, with just the right amount of a little kick that wont knock you over, so don't worry if you don't like spicy. I got the burned ends dish and it was very flavorful. It comes with a choice of 2 sides. The mac n cheese could've been creamier but that's my one little "complaint" as far as food quality goes. I don't know much about whiskey, but if you like whiskey they have a lot to choose from. The dishes are expensive for what you get, which is to be expected of BBQ but the portions were a bit on the small side, but still satisfying. The staff was GREAT. They did what they could to get a table ready for me and my wife. I never felt rushed with the order even though they were busy and the waiter answered all my questions and was polite. They even gave us a free cocktail that they accidentally made for someone else! Parking is difficult and not recommended but if money isn't an issue you'll find garages. The easiest way to get here is to take the T to South Station, walk over the bridge to the seaport district and head north one block to Congress street. Only about 1/2 mile walk. I recommend the Smoke Shop BBQ.

I don't usually love bbq but this place is one of the best I've ever had. Pulled pork was ridiculous. Service was quick and good beer selection. Looking forward to returning.

The food was awesome! The food was awesome! I felt I had to say it twice as I gave it 3 stars. The service was not that great. Our waitress was good, but food just took to long to come out. My drink alone took 15 minutes and the place was not overly crowded. I always judge a place by its bathroom; it was super clean. I do recommend and hopefully the service was just an exception that day. Update: They are looking to keep business as I was contacted by owner. Highly impressed. I have changed my review based on the fact that “they care.”

What a great place to eat! I love their burnt ends and brisket. Their sweet victory is a sauce to die for. The Pit Boss is so worth it compared to the Pit Crew. Its only 2$ more and you can and extra side and meat If you eat half there you can have the other half later. Two meals for the price of one! Only complaint is they somewhat frequently get your order wrong. Im talking about like one thing wrong on your tray so not too bad.

Great place for a BBQ get together with friends, family, co workers. Staff is friendly and helpful, since their are a lot of choices on their menu. Definitely one of the best places I've been for a nice hearty meal.

Eric

Very nice food I could eat their sweet potato mash everyday it's so smooth along with the hot links

Samantha Pace

Such great food! Only downside is that the soda isn't great.

Egecan Çoğulu

Everything I tried was delicious! The portions are also very large.

Ian Bowers

Food is pretty legit, drink selection is great. Service is friendly but surprisingly slow during lunch. Order early, ask for the check early. Great spot to grab a bite or a drink if you're in the area though.

Brunna Costa

yum very kind and to say the sauce isnt the best but best place 2 eat in boston

Evan McVail

Best barbecue I’ve had in Boston. The platter almost put me to sleep. There was a huge lunch rush so get there early!

Michael Braun

Great food, great service, great place. Love it.

We checked in for our reservation and were greeted by a friendly host. Taken to a table and dropped off. The seats were filthy, so we waited for the waitress to come, so that we could ask that it be quickly wiped down. She audibly grumbled and left. We stood there for about 5-10 minutes before someone else came over and wiped down the seats. We sat down. Waited another 15 or more and still no waitress to take our orders, get drinks, etc. So we left. Seriously bad/nonexistent service. Seemed like a great place. Just really bad service from a super grumpy waitress with no service skills. We ended up going to The Smoke Shop at another location and had super service and great food. Just avoid this location!

Food was excellent !! Price was pretty good for a restaurant in the Seaport District !!

After a fabulous day at the NBA Hall of Fame in Springfield my youngest son and I were jonesing for some BBQ so we drove the Pike to Boston and hit up the Seaport location. I knew of the great reputation of the food already having sampled it at a few Boston Magazine events and from all the awards and the drive did NOT disappoint. The smoked chicken wings were best we’ve had and so wasn’t the Fried Chicken. Sublime. Also had some burnt ends which were great (though I usually like them slightly softer in texture but that’s minor) and the waiter kindly brought me some pork belly burnt ends too to sample as he knew I seemed torn about which to order. Very good service and love the vibe of the place! Open and casual. The pit beans were fantastic as were the sauces on the side. We’ll absolutely go back again to The Smoke Shop. Worth every mile of the 72 mile drive!

Great food. Awesome bartenders

Xerxes Bell

Good service with delicious food. A bit pricey, but considering the area not bad. Very nice atmosphere and even good for a baby around lunch time.

Escaped Death

Great BBQ and beer selection is always solid. Becoming a go-to when we visit Boston now

cozy restaurant.... they have their own flavor of brisket BUT not the real authentic taste as the southern one. The wings is good and their special sauces is delicious. I'm giving one star because of their services were not even good at the time I arrived around 4pm on Sunday Dec 30. the waiters were switching shifts so I did get a good service specially from my waiter. I waited for long time, he did not describe any thing for me , his pants were very very very low. he gave me a bill for another person and if I did not check carefully I would pay more. He asked me if he can take my plat before I finished my meal. Big thanks for the other waiter who helped me with the bill. I would recommend this resturant if your waiter not the one I had so check pants first. I usually give a decent tip but this was my first time to give very low tip like his pants, and I circled his name so maybe he will know why.

Previously 1 star: Decided to take our out of town friends here and called ahead. Was told that they do not take reservations so we showed up early to try and get a table. When we arrived there were empty tables but were told that they were reserved. When we told them that we were told that they didn't take reservations they had no sympathy for our situation and were unapologetic for their mistake. We then had to wander to try and find another place that didn't take reservations but had they told us that they were booked instead of telling us that they didn't take reservations we would have made reservations elsewhere. Edit from 1 to 3 stars: Thanks to Andy for the reply. I appreciate the response and wish this was what was given at the time of the incident. I would like to add that we never had a problem here previously and truly do enjoy the food but this incident left a very bad taste in our mouth especially given the aftermath of having to make my pregnant wife wander around in search for food. I will reach out to Andy and further update my review once we return.

Excellent!!! Being from Syracuse ny, we are use to dinosaur bbq.... you guys are just as good (if not better)...... great food, great service, great atmosphere

Leandra Raposo

Service was great! You get your food fast and the staff is friendly and helpful. The food wasn't anything amazing thats the reason for three stars. However their sauces are delicious.
