Friendly staff and great food! Highly recommended if you’re in the area to try this place out.

Yesterday was so good we decided to come to this location today. The pancakes are as big as your head and amazing. I got the bloody mary and had to get two because it was too good. The breakfast potatoes weren't as good as yesterday, but hey I love potatoes so much that it was impossible not to enjoy. We were thinking about getting nachos, but for my sister in law's gluten allergy we couldn't risk it because the chips share a fryer with everything else. Still she got some pancakes and cheesy grits. The decor is adorable. It was a bit quieter than the other location which let us enjoy everything a little more. Ps the bathroom is down a bit of stairs which may be difficult for some. That is my only possible issue. I would reccomend this restaurant a billion times and wish it existed back home in Chicago.

Marijoy Bertolini

Quirky diner-ish place with good food & friendly staff. My kids love coming here because the menu is huge. Can get super busy during the week. Love it, though!

I typically go to the friendly toast when visiting Boston. When I ate here today, food was good, service was a bit slow especially given the fact that we arrived at 12:00, were seated right away, but didn't get food 12:40-ish . When we got our bill, we asked for it to be separated by dish as there was 3 of us dining together. When I didn't tip our waitress came up and confronted me about not tipping. I had to explain that I don't have much american money and that I budgeted just for the meal. I'm from somewhere where we typically don't tip. The two other people who I ate with both tipped. Regardless of my where I am from, I believe that is very rude to confront customers on not tipping. We left all feeling very awkward about the confrontation that occurred.

Great retro themed atmosphere and fun menu. Service was okay, our waitress didn't seem too interested and felt rushed. Prices were fair. The food was good, I got the vegan pancakes but was a little disappointed because I ordered one banana and one chocolate chip but received only one banana and one regular pancake. The food for our table, mostly pancakes, took a while too. I know Boston loves Saturday brunch, however, thought it could've been faster service.... And I wasn't crazy about the pancakes. They also only had soy milk as the non-dairy creamer option for the coffee, which was so-so. I would've expected a place like this in the middle of Cambridge, which boasts a variety of vegan menu options to have something other than soy milk (almond, oat, cashew, etc.). Overall, not bad but not the best. It was also very crowded and we had to wait for a bit, though they do have a photo booth in the waiting area.

Caroline Turcotte

The ambiance is friendly. The staff is very social. The food is good, but I have to admit that the taste was not exactly what I was expecting for the price I have paid. Thankfully I was alone, so I was able to sit at the bar, but for 2 person or more, there was a lot of wait. Overall a good place, to go.

Finally, after trying for 2 months, I've tried The Friendly Toast. There was always a wait of 1 to 1 1/2 hours for a party of three and we never wanted to wait. A great tip-sign up for the waiting list on Yelp. When your party arrives, you'll be seated right away. I love the decor and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. I would describe the menu as comfort food with twist. I had the French toast doughnut with scrambled eggs and veggie sausage. It came with a side of strawberry and habanero sauce with was delicious and a side of home fries. It was a great mix of savory and sweet. I also had a bite of the breakfast egg rolls. Amazing!! I definite must try. Many options to choose from and inexpensive. The reason I didn't give a 5 because the home fries weren't done and needed salt. I'll definitely be back and will recommend to my friends and family. Great experience.

Alexandry Calisto

The food was not good. I had the huevos rancheros and my poached eggs were overcooked like a boiled egg. The eggs were on top of crispy tortilla, mashed avocado and black beans puree and a bed of potatoes. This was not huevos rancheros. …

kangarushi

We ordered for separate meals at The Friendly Toast, and a side of tater tots. The food took a while (an hour) to come, and in forgiveness our bill ended up being $6! And the food was amazing. Amazing people, diverse community, accepting area, no matter who you are you'll enjoy this restaurant.

Seth Holladay

We had a very long wait time during peak hours, the place was packed, but it was worth it. Very good food at a reasonable price. They also allow dogs when eating on the patio!

Samuel Ugowe

Delicious brunch with quick, attentive service. The "I Woke Up Like This" was a great drink. The wait is not insubstantial around noon but is more a testament of the food than anything.

Rebecca W

We've been trying to visit The Friendly Toast for some time but the wait has made it virtually impossible. Thankfully, we had some free time so we waited. The "wait"? 5 minutes! We lucked out. While there is no parking lot/parking structure, there's plenty of metered street parking available. The decor was a street art vibe, and there was plenty of seating available. The menu is vast, and I found it challenging to choose, which I guess is a good problem to have. I chose the Breakfast Egg Rolls, and they were delicious. The filing consisted of scrambled eggs with corned beef, cheese, and a honey dipping sauce that I wanted to take home. With all of the options available, I'll be back to try something else. They have so much to choose from!

sab j

Good food. Great service.

Robert Hunt

Really enjoyed a late breakfast here. Food was great, really liked the interesting options on the menu, as well as the decor and atmosphere.

Dassi L

This place is great! The wait can be long if you come at brunch time, but it is well worth the wait. All the servers are attentive and friendly and all the food is delicious. Definitely eat here if you get the chance.

Georgia MacDonald

This is one of my favorite places to eat in this area. My favorite is the chicken and waffles. Its sweet, savory and spicy! You can't go wrong with it.

Elias D

A must-go breakfast joint in Boston. Amazing staff, can't go wrong ordering anything, and a lovely patio and bar. Interior design is an eclectic, retro style filled with sci-fi designs and memorabilia that makes it fascinating to look around in. Be prepared for a wait on peak weekend hours or go earlier.

Mr. Man

A very reliable and tasty diner experience. The food is all quite good (although nothing mind blowing) and the service is consistently attentive. Only request would be slightly more veggies/sides available but I suppose you're not at the Friendly Toast to fill up on your veggies anyway.

Camille [Schiff] Martin

Menu has changed in the last year or so but still great food. Very busy on the weekends but the line does move quickly and worth the wait. Use the Yelp - No Wait app and its a breeze. Miss the fruit smoothies and some of the old menu staples but new options are equally delicious. Had their hash quiche & chicken and waffles. Would recommend

Siannon Shea

I truly enjoy going to their restaurants, I've been to the location in Portsmouth too, but this location was much more appealing. It's very unique in style, i loved the decor in the entry way. The food was amazing too! A little pricey, but totally worth it! I would definitely go back! Especially to this location!

Alex Francis

I try to come here for brunch everytime I'm in Boston. Love the savory food!

logan shanks

Nate D. was one of the, if not, THE best waiter I’ve ever had. Food was great, appealing placement, eclectic scenery, and an old school vibe really bring the entire place together. To top it off they leave you with a couple of pieces of bazooka gum and a cute post card. At about $20/plate including tax and tip, I’d definitely come back.

David H

Awesome service, food and drinks

James Brumaghim

Great food. Waffle are the best. Can't wait to go back.

Megan Soukup

Food and people are amazing. I actually finished my entire meal which doesn’t happen often. Great vibe

Jeffery Sagerer

Great outdoor patio, tasty food, and their cayenne cheddar toast was delicious! Quaint and trendy food option in a great area of Boston.

Jim Salzer

The decor is retro to the 70s 60s and 50s. The staff was accommodating and the food was outstanding. I had their take on biscuits and gravy. It was awesome. The gravy was not to spicy and the sausage was stacked on top of the gravy instead of ground up. They also added a sunny side up into the mix. Very very good. I highly recommend this place for breakfast.

Rebekah Anaya

Loved their outdoor seating. Overall food wasn't bad and there was definitely a lot to choose from. The bread for the avocado toast was a bit thick for my preference, but no complaints other than that.

Ashley Dumaine

Great breakfast food, even for dinner! I love their french toast, the slices of bread are pretty thick. We had great service and it was pretty quiet even on a Friday night.

Rob gran

Haven't had a bad meal yet and I've been to three different locations. This place has character...not easy to find in Boston.

Ethan Tang

Cozy, bustling place with great food and attentive waiters

paul randall

Great environment. Staff is awesome and very helpful

Tabatha Duffy

What a delightful breakfast! Our server was Nate, and he was super nice, even to our beastly toddlers. He checked on the table frequently for coffee and drink refills and responded to the goofy questions and exclamations of our kiddos. The food itself was pretty awesome, too. My husband got the Kiss My Grits, which included a biscuit, fried chicken thighs, and grits. The grits were really good, even though they were more like a sauce in this dish. I could tell I would have been happy with just a bowl of grits with some eggs and bacon, and we've had a lot of grits below the Mason-Dixon. My choice was the Barbacoa Benny. The eggs were perfectly poached, the biscuits underneath were buttery and tender, and the barbecue-sweet sauce on top balanced the richness of the rest of the dish really nicely. My husband and I ended up switching halfway through so we each got part of the other's meal. Both were awesome. Even the kids' food and the coffee was great. If you're passing through, like we were, give this place a try. Super friendly, unpretentious service, fun, retro decor, and awesome food. I know this place will be one of the places we talk about when we recount our NE road trip. Thanks!

Blake F. Donaldson

One the best breakfast houses I’ve ever been to. Great and entertaining menu. The food is excellent! The hollandaise is perfect! And best of all... Nate our server was one of the best, fun, most sincere, attentive servers I’ve had the pleasure to be waited on, by, EVER! Go Here!

James Carr

Fantastic french toast, great breakfast. Long wait times so make a reservation in advance. Very friendly service, prices are a bit steep for a dinner style breakfast.

Mark Vrablic

Their food isn't super nice and is really overpriced. The average dish is the same as you can get in any diner just with avocado on top, but here it will cost you upwards of $15. The ambiance is nice and very hipster, but I would never choose to eat here.

Jesse S

Popular lunch (liquid) spot

Elizabeth Calvin

I've gone here twice now. Each time, it was for breakfast and the food has been stellar and the service has been great. I've gotten the Barbacoa Benny [a special] and the Biscuts and Gravy and they've both been divine! Try to get here as early as you can, because it gets packed [for good reason]. Also, make sure if you are going with a group that you all go together; they will NOT seat you until your entire group shows up.

Thomas Collins

Went there for brunch. Tasty food and great selection of drinks. Only let down was the service at the bar. Slow and not so friendy.

Tommaso Stefanelli

Pancake was to big, syrup normal, French toast plain, waitress a disaster. Overrated?

Charli Henley

The BLT with fried green tomatoes, vegetarian bacon, and cayenne cheddar bread was so good, I can't stop thinking about it 3 days later. Great service too.

Adam Lopez

The Friendly Toast is great! Always something else to try new and honestly it's always delicious! I take all my friends who are visiting from out of town here. But be sure to get there and place your name on the list, this place is usually packed. The photo attached with a mimosa flight, bloody Mary flight, Benny, and a chicken covered in grits.... All highly recommend!

Heather Millar

Our server was excellent and the manager was also making the rounds, seeing that everyone was happy. We had a lovely time out (even with our 3 kids in tow)! Thank you!

Khalifallah Saint-Cyr

The place looks very hippie-like but the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Ewart Moresby

We were in Cambridge overnight for the Paul Simon concert, and starving the following morning, according to google we had a lot of options around us within walking distance, and we chose to try The Friendly Toast, what a great decision! The service was solid, and friendly, my sister, and I had the "build your own" omelet, and we couldn't believe how generous, and tasty it was. There were huge chunks of avocados, and the flavor was amazing. We hope to return someday! It was also reasonably priced... well done!

La J

My first time here for breakfast with co workers and the customer service was amazing and food even better! I cant wait to come back with friends. If you havent tried the chicken and waffles get it!!!!

Tatiana Torres

Food and drinks are GREAT. Definitely try a dish with one of their homemade breads!

Melanie Oakie

Such a cool place! The food was great (had breakfast) and particularly loved the flight of mimosas. Pricing is excellent for what you're getting. If you have a party of more than two, book in advance and bear in mind you will not be seated until the full party is present.

Kellee Strong

Excellent service and food. A variety for people with food allergies.

Sam Anderson

Their breakfast is amazing, I would recommend any of the combo breakfasts and be sure to get the French toast. If you ever get the chance try them out. They didn't hire me, I'll still give them a good review because the food is that good.

joshua fermin

I enjoyed the place very nice wall decorations good vibes and good drinks!!

James Nash

Great food and service!! It arrive after 10am expect to wait. But it well worth it. Plenty of seating inside and out.

Erik Schelling

Great breakfast variety

Dan MacNeil

The Friendly toast is indeed friendly, cheerful and polite but not sycophantic. Food comes out quickly and accurately. Menu has vegan friendly choices and some interesting combinations of ingredients. Portion size hits the spot between stingy and obesity making. Decor is bright and clashes with itself , which creates a cheerful vibe. If every fast casual places was as competent as the friendly toast there would be no chain restaurants

Alex Liu

The food here is solidly good, and the service is stunningly friendly. They have a lot of creative menu options, but expect more of a fun-mishmash-thrown-together-style dish rather than a deliberately executed plate. It’s still very tasty, but it’s not too far off from something you might throw together for yourself after taking stock of what’s in the fridge.

Michael DeFilippo

Great good great beer and on Wednesday it's B-movie night.

Jm Weitz

The place is very cool, friendly staff and the food was great!

Ideal Protein

Food was awesome as usuall but Kerri Ann was the Bomb! Fun night.

Blake Ericson

Fun breakfast spot that provides seasonal options and classic favorites. Tried the barbacoa breakfast sandwich and was blown away by how good it was. Give it a try if you can. Decent prices (roughly $10-$15 per plate). Fun atmosphere and good coffee. Happy we stopped in for breakfast.

Krista Chavez

The food was so delicious very fun food choices, including vegan. It can be a long wait on the weekend and no reservations, so arrive early! It was crowded the day we went and kind of loud. It is worth waiting for! Serving size is big there is a bar with alcohol. Can not adapt well to large parties.

John Burke

Our first stop in Boston!! What a find!! Stop for breakfast. Great food and service.. fun Atmosphere!! We told them this was our first visit to Boston.. they recommend places to go and gave us a post card to mail back to our friends.

Christina Orta

First time stopping by this place. Their good is sooo good! Wish I knew about them sooner! Our food came out piping hot and quick! Staff is amazing and very attentive without being too intrusive! Also, the 60's-70's retro deco is amazing! Definitely recommend.

David James

Good breakfast, plenty of food, quite friendly. Thanks Dee, you made the visit worthwhile.

Tim Sampson

Great breakfast, huge menu done right. Tacos and hash are great. Draft beer tasted like the lines weren't flushed from the last cleaning. Overall, great service and experience.

Kat Dolan

Long wait but worth it. Best pancakes and healthy selection if you’re into that

Ron Mexico

Awesome brunch spot. Gets a little busy but that's because it' good!

Mason Hall

The Friendly Toast is nothing but good vibes and my go-to breakfast spot for the Boston area. I recommend the breakfast egg rolls and the cheese fries, but everything is fantastic.

Joseph Ntaimo

Quality service, quality food, and a quality time.

Tiarnan O Hagan

Wide variety of food on the menu, cocktails are quirky and delicious

Timothy Hughes

Really solid breakfast food. Our favorite was the bacon bloody mary. Awesome flavor and the best rim salt I think I've had.

Tanya Keith

Can't get enough. Guy's Scramble is my fave.

Andrew Biss

Amazing place to eat for some comfort food, or for a night out with friends. I got the gluten free banana pancakes and they were amazing. The prices were reasonable (even for the alcohol) and the staff was super friendly. The tester ain’t had a very unique atmosphere, but that just adds to it all. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Melinda Sudbury

Amazing food. Very fun atmosphere. Great drinks. However, very busy!! Great Gluten free options!!

fingleburt

Lovely place to eat, bit pricey but service is fantastic as is the food!

Youngmin Choi

I really wanted to like The Friendly Toast since it was at a convenient location for me. Unfortunately, the food I ordered was either too salty or too greasy. Even the saltiness was unevenly coated throughout my potatoes. I had to cover my food in Tabasco sauce to mitigate the greasiness. It may be that my expectations for this restaurant was too high after everyone hyped it up for me. The interior and service, however, was great! I may give this place another try to see if I just had a rare, bad experience.

Denise

Stopped in at 6:30 on a Monday. Sat immediately and my waitress showed up quickly. Ordered an Arnold Pama and started looking at the menu. Honestly I wanted to try everything and actually wished other people were with me to share food. I ended up getting the Lobster Haul Benny. It was amazing. Probably the best hollandaise sauce I’ve ever had. And those Arnold Pama’s were pretty damn good too. Waitress and other staff are very friendly. I’ll probably be back even though I’m only here for a couple days. Yum! Have no photo to share because I ate it too fast, lol.

Bill Darnall

This is a great breakfast place! We have never been here for anything other than breakfast so I cannot comment on lunch or dinner but if you love a good omelette with a wonderful Bloody Mary then this is the place for you to go. Our waitress today was Chloe and she was the most friendly person we've met in all of Boston we would return anytime.

Usman Khaliq

Went here for brunch today, and the food was absolutely amazing! The place has a great sci-fI vibe to it too.

Sarah Ellis Escobar

The menu is so unique and everything I've tried on my many trips here has been exceptional. The service is great with a laid back friendly vibe. Drinks menu is also awesome, love this place.

Camille PECASTAINGS-CHRISTIE

Great atmosphere and big portions of comfort food ! Ideal for a boozy brunch with friends !

Kurtis Reid

Very cool brunch place. The mimosas were very good. Nice and refreshing. I had the Monte Cristo sandwich and it did not disappoint. My boyfriend had the doughnut sandwich and it was also very good. They even gave you postcards with your bill. Would definitely recommend you come early, it seems to fill up on Sunday mornings.

A K

Good food, nice people. Note it opens at 8AM, so hard to use for morning meetings (found out the hard way).

Muniba Khan

Came here with friends and we absolutely loved it! I got the Lobster Haul Benny and it was by far the best eggs benedict I've ever had. Also got a nitro cold brew which was fantastic! Our service was also incredible. I don't drink, but they seem to have an extensive alcohol menu of fun drinks. It's a pretty busy place, especially on weekends, so if you have 6 or less people, I recommend adding yourself to the online waitlist. Great place for brunch!

Neil Blain

Food was great, service was a little off.

Alan Bryce

Excellent food, great service. Good price.

John Frank

Good, no doubt. Not worth a long wait. Dig the funky interior.

soham koley

The cayenne french toast and bene's! Have always been greeted by friendly staff and great service.

Victoria Ingram

Great food and Nate our server, was excellent!!

Mary Keenan

Super quirky all-day breakfast place. I love the King Pancakes!

Christi Barb

Not a good beer selection but comfort food is good.

Stef T

As the name suggests friendly toast - these guys have variety of toast options in addition to their wonderful menu. Loved the HASH QUECHE and JON SCRAMBLE( this was recommended by our server) and definitely a very good choice. They have huge sitting area and hence we did not have waiting time on a Saturday during peak brunch hours. Loved the place and the food. Service was average , we ordered additional wheat toast which never really arrived. Overall good experience and good food!

See exDiane Kaufman

Great are the nachos and olea s fries toast try it good staff

Sophia DeAraujo

I went to the one in Cambridge and had Ryan as my bartender excellent food, better service. And reasonably priced drinks! Cool casual hangout and eat space.

Nathan Bishop

I come here a few times a year and have never been let down. Always super friendly and accommodating staff. Food is always great.

Donna Howe

Great customer service, good and interesting food, and a very good bar - all at a reasonable price and to top it off it's in an excellent location!

Giana Jinx

I wanted to love it, but the food genuinely wasn't that great. The vegan burger was fine, but then again it isn't made in house. The mac and cheese (both vegan and non-vegan varieties) was super watery and there was absolutely no cheese taste to be found. The only thing that looked genuinely enjoyable and well made was the plate of assorted breakfast foods.

Dina Deresh

This place is great for breakfast if you get there before the rush! Unfortunately quality is inconsistent, so depending on the day you can get a really good chef, or someone that is rushed and doesn't care for details. Today, we got French toast that came burnt and dry in the middle. Our server took care of us and got a new dish very quickly! Unfortunately, the second one was arranged to look perfect, with the burnt bits hidden in the stack. Still pretty much dry bread with a the surface being French toast. I ordered the avocado toast and it was absolutely delicious. Enormous and delicious. I still love this place, I understand that a rush can be difficult. I just hope that whoever is cooking enjoys what they do and serve good food instead of rushed get-it-out-to-the-customer food... Because you can taste how much care was put into your meal.

Alexa Reed

I only went because a group I'm part of was going. I was happy to see some Vegan options on the menu. I got blueberry pancakes because I love pancakes. Unfortunately, they had no Vegan alternative to butter so my pancakes were very dry. The service was good, but this was our server's last day. The bathroom can only be accessed by stairs, but there's one in a nearby building that I could walk to.

Vladimir Barash

This place has amazing everything -- food, drive ks, service! Plus great nineties nostalgia in the soundtrack

Charles Ponti

Amazing breakfast but be prepared for wait. It's worth it for the tasty goodies and awesome vibes.

Kristen Cox

This is a great place to bring a group because of the variety of food and lengthy menu buuuut good luck getting in because every time we try there (usually a weekend brunch when the rest of the world has the same idea) is an hour long wait. We managed to get in for a Monday lunch and still waited for five/ten minutes before sitting down. I had a fancy grilled cheese (Damn Good Grilled Cheese?) and my husband had shrimp and grits with biscuits and both were as delicious at they sound. I'd love to go back and fully embrace breakfast there--there's some sort of yelp no wait thing.

Pornchai Chaweewat

Great food with nice restaurant. Employee here is friendly and kind.

Joshua Kubiak

toast might be a tad too friendly if you catch my drift.... great food!

G Ratliff

The wait is to be noted as my family and friends reserved our seats online 20 minutes prior to arriving to be told the wait was another 35 minutes. Yet we actually waited another 45 minutes. From there it's all uphill minus access to the bathroom which seems like a journey into a Stranger Things Season 2 scene (adds to the uniqueness of the restaurant however

Jessica Winford

So delicious. At first I want sure if it would be overrated being a small chain in the city. But we really wanted breakfast at 2pm on a Tuesday. And I am so glad we went. I had the Hash Quiche. Two hash brown "muffins" would scrambled egg and sour cream on top. It was so good I ate every bite. And the chipotle cheddar toast, I now want that with everything in life. Aside from amazing food, really great atmosphere. Casual, fun and a great staff. You need to check them out.

Curt Will

Had a great meal each time. Our group visiting from out of town went two days in a row. Staff is super friendly and helpful with suggestions from the vast menu. A true must in Cambridge.

Evan Brock

Went here to get brunch with some friends and was warned there might be a wait. Fortunately there wasn't and we were able to get a table immediately. The theme of the restaurant is absolutely fun and fantastic. They're menu has options for everyone (vegetarian, vegan, and all allergies). I ordered their huevos rancheros which was unique and absolutely delicious. Would recommend to anyone!

Łukasz Paluszkiewicz

Great place for breakfast, and apparently also for drinks, although the second was not checked by me personally.

Joel Cook

I love the food, the atmosphere seems a bit contrived but I'm sure it's just my general annoyance that somehow the 80's are cool again. The service is great and they are actually as friendly as the name implies

Danaya Chandler

I love the friendly toast. I've been to all three in the area now and no matter which one the atmosphere is amazing, the servers are awesome, and the food is my absolute favorite for breakfast (don't ignore the lunch menu, though!). Great …

Siobhan Flynn

The Friendly Toast is an all time favorite of mine and I ALWAYS come here to bring friends and family that are visiting me. If you don't read this entire review make sure you READ THE END!! It's so fun, iconic and original with a one of a kind atmosphere. There are many options for gluten free eaters and I've never had any problems with contamination. The staff are very friendly and fun. The Friendly Toast is extremely popular and it's always been packed whenever I go there. Its definitely very loud in the restaurant, but the back area is definitely toned down a bit. A LITTLE KNOWN FACT! It can sometimes take up to two hours to get seated, especially during weekend brunch. To avoid this, it is 100% worthwhile to download the Yelp app and put your name in for a table. This makes everything so much faster. I always do this a bit before I leave the house so that by the time I get there and check in, I only have to wait 15 minutes tops. Enjoy!!

Laurie Childs

Great food. Great service!

Doug Foster

The surroundings were awesome and the food was great. Coffee was okay. Other places have had better or I would have given it all five stars. It was not bad though.

1292kira

Great food. Spacious place. Good ambience.

Erez Amit

Great food, friendly staff

Ben T

The friendly toast is an uber popular brunch location in Boston. Is a has a huge variety of brunch dishes - you can get basically any type of brunch you want, to a decadent extent. The drink selection is equally ubiquitous and over the top (mimosa flights!!!). Though my experience was subpar - the food was an hour late (they forgot about us while our neighboring tables sat, ate, and left), and to be totally frank, the prices were something to be desired for essentially eggs and pancakes. My food was adequate, but I left dissatisfied and the Instagram-able atmosphere does not leave me wanting to come back.

Brendan Knapp

With how good their avocado toast is, I don't know how anyone who goes here affords to own a house. Great coffee as well.

Lee Kelley

The only bad thing about the experience was the wait, and you can't really blame them for being popular. The food was great. We had breakfast - waffle, egg sandwich, omelet. Everyone approved. The staff was very friendly and quick even though we were a party of 6. Kid friendly. I didn't try any alcoholic beverages but they seemed popular and looked amazing. Would recommend.

hl9221

Great food, great drinks! Love this place. Super busy on the weekends though.

Casey Meraz

Amazing food and service. My wife and I found this place on Google after looking at places to have breakfast near Boston. We were impressed with the reviews but more impressed with the vibe, drinks, food and service. This is for sure the best brunch place we found while visiting.

Honey Langley

Delicious food, fun atmosphere

Olivia Riccardi

Very busy. Make sure to reserve a table ahead of time on Open Table. Service is fast and turnovers on tables are quick so the wait is not usually very long. Good drinks. The breakfast burrito was amazing and the wait staff is very friendly.

Emily Harris

The huevos rancheros were really flavorful. I added Barbacoa and made tacos out of my leftovers the next day. Service was really fast on a Friday night, and the waitress was really funny.

Rob Gant

Awesome trivia Tuesday nights. Good drinks and food. Menu changes seasonally and is always interesting.

Nicole Wise

Sonic the waiter! Decent breakfast options but staff was pretty busy.

Maria Garza

Really bad experience, host said there would be about and hour wait, we decided to wait...After an hour and a half, we are still waiting... There were lots of open tables, do not know what the issue was... Sad that we had one good experience here long ago, and now we won't be back...

Pedro Escuer

A Boston classic! Make sure you arrive early to put your name down or add your name to the list via the yelp app! You can’t go wrong with this restaurant. The food is simply delicious. Perfect brunch place!

Rich Harris

Comfort food. Love the decor and style. Specials every week

Terevos

The chicken and waffles were outstanding. Avo burger was great too. Lots of newer menu items that are great.

Daniel MacDonald

I was underwhelmed with my biscuits and gravy. My biscuits were burned and it was expensive. I tried going here a second time: I got a breakfast burrito. The quantity was better this time. It didn't have a lot of flavor, but it was pretty good with some hot sauce. The burrito was almost dripping wet, probably from not draining the beans that well.

Alyssa Cooper

The line is always long for this restaurant and I heard great reviews for the place and was inclined to endure the 2.5 hour wait. The service was incredible and the location inside was vibrant and exciting. Unfortunately, they messed up my order bad. Luckily, the waiter and the manager (the waiter called him over because of how badly the orders were messed up) and were incredibly gracious and genuinely concerned about our order. They waived the orders and had them fixed within minutes. Highly recommend visiting!

Ricky Chan

When you are in the mood for breakfast food at lunch/dinner time, this is the place to go. They also have regular lunch type food and dinner type food but usually get breakfast type food when I come here for lunch. Always a good place to go.

Wow. No really, wow. The Friendly Toast is one of the best, if not the best dining experiences we have had in quite a while. A fantastic menu loaded with multiple creative dishes. Everyone in our party of six ordered different meals, and we were all delighted with them. There is really nothing that you can order here that doesn't work. Environment is positive, open, and real. 1950s Kitsch design motif throughout the restaurant doesn't detract and works perfectly. Location is in the middle of a huge and impersonal Industrial business area , so it's not a human scaled place outside. But once you get inside... It's magic!

My husband and I ate breakfast here. Yum! We both really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. The coffee wasn’t the best, but it was good enough. Definitely a good place! I suspect their alcoholic drinks would be tasty too but we didn’t indulge.

It is a nice place, if you sit outdoors on a nice day - that deserves a star. But it is better not to order food. We paid $15 for under-cooked, cold potatoes, a (at least a week-old) stale biscuit, a thinnest, chewiest slice of ham, and two eggs. This creation worthy of Damien Hirst, no less, and called Toast Benny, was served to us after a half-an-hour wait by a dumb-faced waiter dressed into what seemed rags rejected from a homeless hostel. Or perhaps he dressed like that to look like he is down-to-earth, given this place is so cool, that one is supposed to pay five times the price for food that would have been disposed into garbadge by a roadside diner.

Nice place to have lunch outside

Loved it, a real bustling diner with a lovely atmosphere. I had the delicious breakfast burrito that I’ve been dreaming about ever since
