Alamo is an excellent barbecue restaurant. Seating is limited but the food and drink is worth the wait. Bar seating is always available. Super friendly service, even a speed sign on the way out so you don't get ticket for speeding. A++
I had been wanting to try this place for a while, every time I drive past the parking lot is full, I order the special a mac and cheese with pulled pork and steak. The noodles were soft and the dish was over salted, it could be my taste buds because my fellow diners enjoyed the pulled pork plate and a sandwich. I didn't do the tequila because I was driving but here are the options.
Great service, cold beer but Chili w brisket so-so for me. Chili flavor was spice that I do not care for... Others might like. 2 very small slices of brisket (might be better to cut brisket into bite size pieces before serving). String fried onion good enough to order again. Flavorful and not greasy.
Service, people, food and the new look is awesome.......
2nd time there first time they had a BBQ sample patter which was good this time didn't have it had brisket which was dry, rib where ok, beans not so good I have better one from a can.
Good beer, so so food.
More like Mexican. Mac n cheese was bland and dry, It just wasn't the kind of bbq I like.
So thankful to have a place I can walk to in my snow shoes for a margarita! Great atmosphere, great place to have in Brookline. The bartenders are awesome! The BBQ sauces are great. Perfect date night spot.
Awesome food! Went here for this first time and I was pleasantly surprised. They had great BBQ, but they also had some other great food items! Chicken and waffles sliders as a appetizer was shockingly amazing! Not something I would typically order, but I will for now on!
I had the ribs and my wife had the chicken the food was awsome ,great new place to enjoy food and drinks. Love it
Fantastic food, amazing service and it's great on the way to snowmobiling up north. Love it
Very good, legit BBQ
Yum
Absolutely delicious! My husband said it was "fantastic" after he finished. I don't think I've ever heard him say that about any restaurant we've eaten ate! The candied jalapeno cornbread was to die for and so was the slaw. Loved my pulled pork sandwich. Flavorful and tasty. Not dry at all. Can't wait to come back again!
Brand new after several years of work on this location, which has had many faces in the past.... Nice looking, and for brand new completely full for lunch on friday after opening on wednesday....lot of tequilas and a tex mex barbque flavor...brand new so working out some things like the unexpected run on the brisket which they were out of but promised more would be done in an hour, dominick was great as our bartender, drinks local were different and very good, the davey crocket sandwich was excellent and the pulled pork sandwich also very good, home made chips were excellent....a new addition to downtown brooklines dining scene!!!
This is great BBQ in a great setting!
Great BBQ
Chicken waffles (and frozen Margarita) were outstanding!
Love the BBQ and the atmosphere of this place. We stopped by on the way to Sunapee and treated ourselves to mini chicken & waffles, the Davy Crockett burger, and some burnt ends. Everything was delicious, but the brisket ends were the star of the show. Perfect smoke, nice and tender and seasoned nicely. We will be back.
Always a great experience! Brisket was very delicious! Great service at the bar by Olivia!!
Brisket was awesome! Sauces great. Worth checking out.
Totally packed full house 45 min. Wait but got seated in less than 20. Food was great !
Was so disappointed in our experience here. I'm always on the lookout for good bbq places for myself and my friends....this is not the place for either. My wife ordered a full rack of ribs for 28 bucks and I tried their Wrangler pie for 16 bucks. The pie was just ok not worth the 16 dollar price tag 11.99 or 12.99 would have been a good price. When I saw her plate I seriously thought they brought her a half rack so I asked (the bartender) if there was a mix up in the kitchen and she got the wrong order. This is where I wish I could post the pic I took of so called ribs. Someone from the kitchen came out and told me they do a 10 bone rack and it was not an error on our order. I think they don't plan on repeat customers except for Tequila and beer drinkers. You're better off with 13-15 bone rack from a chain like Longhorns for less than 20 bucks. Two for lunch was 75 bucks with 2 margaritas and a beer! If you work hard for your money I'd recommend you go elsewhere. If you don't mind paying thru the nose for average food, this place is for you!. In closing I'd like to say I have no problem paying higher prices for exceptional food like the 40 dollar prime rib available at the Village Inn in Dracut Mass. This place will close within a year because you can't flourish in that location with city prices and 0 bang for the buck!
A solid choice for dinner. The brisket was ok was a little dry and overcooked. The pulled chicken and pork were both flavorful. The cornbread was very small not sure if they ran out but it was disappointing. Mac and cheese was very good. Collard greens were average could have been cooked a little longer and seasoned better. Baked beans were good and potato salad was good as well. All sauces weren't very flavorful. We had the fried onions app had no cajon seasoning but was good. And the chicken and waffles were awesome. Solid place will be back to try ribs.
Mediocre BBQ, not worth the ride for me. I got the ribs which we're quite dry... Also, each meal comes with free home made cornbread!! Too bad it's a tiny little bite of a thing...litterally the size of a quarter. Come on guys.
They have very good barbeque. The margaritas are also good. There barbeque sauces are good.
Came in on a Sunday they didnt have ribs or steaks in Texas grill restaurant, what kinda operation they running here?
Hello Alamo, good bye Smokey Bones. Food and service are the very best.
This was our second time here... food was good when they finally came and took our order and one order was not correct and had to be sent back. Only had one drink because they never came back to see if we needed anything else. Even had to ask for silverware after the food was delivered. Not sure we will be back anytime soon. Place was not crowded so no excuses...
Good food & great drinks
As expected, the owners have the BEST staff.you feel like you are VIP'S, being "AT THE ALAMO". Try it,, I did, GREAT!
Good food and great service
Very good BBQ, and BBQ sauces! I absolutely loved the candied jalapeno corn bread, it was amazing!
NOT HAPY AT ALL...ordered brisket and bbq shrimp..turns out it was only 5 shrimp for $12 and brisket was super fatty....service was mediocre at best.
The advertise this place as serving real Texas bbq. They do not. I was born and raised in Texas and know what I'm talking about. The pulled pork was bland and tasteless. The sauce was something out of this world. The waiter was very helpful and quick with the food. Too bad the food was not as good as the server.
Good food. House margarita needs a bit more tequila. Crazy busy and loud. But I'd go again!
Utterly amazing bbq and service.
Great food and service. When we went, quite noisy, with a family flair. Would return anytime.
Great service & a very comfortable place to hang out! I personally feel the the meats could stand a bit more smoke, and it's common knowledge for smoked meat enthusiasts that the membrane should ALWAYS be removed from the back of a rack of ribs before rubbing & smoking, but otherwise this is good food!
Great food great staff..
One of the best bbq spots around.
Great bbq and margaritas
Excellent breakfast. Everything we ordered was sooooo good!
Food very good. Meat just fell apart, delicious nice wait staff, friendly
Amazing, amazing, amazing! I am rarely impressed when we go out to dinner, but the Alamo is delicious! Especially the corn bread! Yum! Lucky for us, there was not a wait- but the food/atmosphere is worth a wait! Congratulations to the owners!
We sat at the bar and enjoyed the interaction with the bartenders. Food was really good. Took quite a while to get it was the only drawback but we weren't in any hurry. Would definitely go back.
Really good food
ABSOLUTELY fabulous
Hated it
Busy but good food
Oh, this definitely the best restaurant Brookline has seen, especially at this location. They make pulled pork sandwiches that you feel you need at least once a week, along with ghost pepper sauce if you ask for it!
If you want some real barbecue and the best margarita you’ve ever had this is the place to go. I Love going here because there is no other place around like it, So unique!
great vibe,good food,excellent tequila bar
This place is awesome. First time here. Loved it. Highly recommended.
Food is great yummy Rita's
Thanks Tasty brisket very good cornbread Margarita was way strong and tasty Will be back
Good food and atmosphere
Nothing but love for this place. Great food and service. And the bar is great! Exactly what this area needed.
Went to the Alamo for dinner and the food and service were fantastic! Can't wait to go back. If you like barbeque with all the sides and fixings as well as a nice drink selection with a great variety of tequila then you've got to try this place.
Great food and service
Open since Oct. Extensive Tequila selection, bartender very helpful with suggestions. Excellent margherita... smoked wings and ribs were very tasty. Highly recommend...
Excellent food and outstanding service by not just our waitress but all who interacted with us as a guest to their establishment. Would highly recommend to all who want an awesome meal with wonderful service.
Had the pulled pork and brisket combo. Was very good. Thick cut brisket very juicy, puller pork was very tender. There sauces were all good as well. My wife got the fried green tomato blt and she said that it was delicious. Mac n cheese was great, maple glazed carrots delicious and never had collard greens before but they were tasty as well. Id reccommend checking it out if youre in the area. Drink prices were good as well.
Cool place, friendly service. The food was pretty decent... Nothing was terrible... But a lot of the items I got were a little on the dry side, but the sauces are very good so that helps. The pulled pork was very fatty.. I was warned that there are some consistency issues... Will try again though
Cool rustic atmosphere. Lots to choose from and I had ribs, ordered a full rack, yummy!!! Took quite a bit home. Friendly staff and management.
Very good BBQ. Wait staff is friendly, BBQ very good, tasty sauces and nice selection of sides. Also a very long tequila menu. Only reason not 5 stars.....Ive had brisket in Texas and while Alamo is very good, it's not quite Texas melt in your mouth good. I'm sure they'll get there in time. I would say they are 4.5 stars but can't do a half star here!
My husband and I love trying barbecue places and writing reviews about them, so we were excited to try The Alamo especially being local. Walking in it was clean, we were greeted and seated right away...it was 3:35pm. Then I was greatly disappointed...after sitting for 15 minutes watching waitresses walk by with no acknowledgment, I was getting hangry and told my husband you need to get up and go over to that gaggle of waitresses at the hostess area or I am going to lose my mind. She immediately came over and apologized and took our order. As we waited for 30 minutes at least for food we watched 8 people get squeezed around a small round table, quite the entertainment! The Food: Corn bread mini muffin bites were tasty but really, corn bread is rather inexpensive you should make a sheet of it and sell bigger pieces, could use more jalapeño kick as well. The brisket was fabulous, very moist. Baked beans were good, coleslaw I could taste the horse radish but it could use some more sweet and kick. Pulled pork was excellent! The barbecue Ribs were tasty but dry. the ghost pepper barbecue sauce was good but needs to be a full bottle on the table. Overall the food redeemed my starving wait and we definitely will give The Alamo a second chance and would recommend. Ps: you need another waitress computer we watched many waiting to access what looks like the only one.
Came for the first time today, food was amazing! Highly recommend the rack of ribs! Great atmosphere as well
Just waited over 40 mins for a takeout order. This is the second time I waited 1/2 hour or more. It was not busy so no excuse. Food was very good but no explanation or sorry it took so long but instead I felt forgotten about. Two other great barbecue places near by. One on 101 in Amherst and the other by the drive-in in Milford. Could have drove to either one in the time it took and the food is just as good.
The dinner there is great with such a fun atmosphere. Today we tried their breakfast for the first time and it was below average. The hollandaise is really thin and tastes like melted butter, missing a certain richness. Lacked flavor. Home fries also lacked seasoning. Brisket was amazing, as always. Our server seemed a bit rough around the edges too, abrasive and all over the place - several items missing from our meals. That being said, I will definitely return for an amazing dinner there, but the breakfast just didn't hit the mark.
I went here last night with my husband. our server was friendly, our food was excellent. however, if you go there, do not sit in a booth. the booths are horribly constructed.the seats were way too high the table was way too low and the lights dangle right in your face. the alamo is best enjoyed at a table where your feet can touch the ground. and trust me, you WILL enjoy it.
Had a great experience at The Alamo! Service was good, drinks were prompt, food was on point. Will definitely be back!
Great fresh decor. Very Woody. Had a simple tea and lemonade with friends. Tasty. Gotta get parking sorted out...
Stop in yesterday for lunch. Great MENU to choose from .Wings were absolutely delicious SEVERAL tastes to choose from. Chili was great taste. Just enough bite you do have a choice 5 ALARM chili. Dry rub RIB-EYE COLLARD GREENS- POTATO SALAD WAS DELICIOUS. ATMOSPHERE WAS GREAT MY SERVER WAS IMPECCABLE THE GENTLEMAN WAS VERY NICE NOT RUCHED TOOK HIS TIME AND EXPLAINED TO US ABOUT THE MENU. SORRY FORGOT MY SERVERS NAME AND OF COURSE MY JACK DANIELS WAS GREAT .PLATES COME OUT WELL PRESENTED THANK YOU. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. ☆☆☆☆☆ DON RAB NH.
Wicked food food. Good service.
Went in this Sunday evening. Ordered burnt ends and roasted chicken combos. Burnt ends were ok, roasted chicken was dry. Coleslaw side was not the kind of slaw we like. They were out of baked beans. Mac n cheese was ok. Traditional cornbread was fantastic. Server asked how our meal was when she brought check. I commented that the coleslaw wasn't our cup of tea. She quickly offered more cornbread. Not a good first experience but I am going try Alamo again. Go for some ribs , beans, and maybe some pineapple upsidedown cake.
Very good my husband loved it
Food was great, wait staff was great. Love the place.
The food here is excellent as were the staff and the prices were very reasonable. I went with my two kids, they had a great time very kid friendly. I would absolutely go back even though it is kind of off the beaten path.
Delicious bbq plenty of out of the box treats to enjoy
The ribs are done to perfection. Melt in your mouth tender. The BBQ sauces are amazing. The cornbread is great. The chili is great. The coleslaw is great. Everything is great!
Finally checked this place out and it blew me away. First of all the ambiance is perfect for a barbecue restaurant. You can tell that it's a scratch kitchen, everything is fresh and fantastic. They have a number of home made sauces including a mayo based pepper sauce which tasted like they made the mayo themselves (I confirmed this when the owner came by our booth to check on our experience). Additionally when they say Tequila Bar they mean it. At least (no joke) 30 different tequila's on their menu. The ribs were fall off the bone fantastic, dry rub or bbq sauce and if you like spicy I would suggest the Ghost sauce...not like a ghost pepper, but pretty hot and all the sauces have wonderful flavor.
Super cool. Good food. Nice staff.
Yummy
The dinner fare is awesome, but breakfast is lackluster.
I like the decor! The drinks were pretty good. Decent food. The ribs were a little on the dry side. There aren't many gluten free options as far as the bread/sandwiches go, which is surprising because the other restaurants (Baileys and Marianos) offer some decent gluten free options. I did like the bbq sauce selection, it was fun to try them all!
Its good stuff
Visited this past Sunday afternoon around 4:30, we were seated pretty quick and our waitress promptly acknowledged us and took our drink order. We ordered 2 diet coke with lemon, we received them with limes (petty maybe but it is a simple request) Ordered our meals and after 5 minutes the waitress returned to tell us they were out of burnt ends (at 4:40) asked if I wanted something else but failed to bring over the menu. Meals arrive fairly quick after the reorder and my husband enjoyed the Texas Brisket Philly while my brisket was dry and no flavor, the mac n cheese was cold and not very cheesy (I think husbands meal was done and they rushed mine). Not sure after this experience we will be returning.
The brisket and cornbread were great. Wife's half roasted chicken she said was very good. The rest of the food was just ok. Very pleasant server but over 40 minute wait after ordering and it wasn't all that busy. Toss in I thought it was pricey for what you got, I wouldn't make a special trip to go again.
Great atmosphere BBQ the best, got to try the hog wings
This was our second visit. Thr first time we went was recently after they had opened. Both their menu and service have significantly improved. I'm glad to have the Alamo in town!
My meal was pretty bad, family seemed to enjoy theirs though. Server was friendly but forgot stuff and spilled drinks on our food. The place was packed and I've only heard good things so my experience is probably an outlier. Give it a try?
Pretty Darn Good Food and fast service
Eh, not so great yet. The new restaurant has some issues to work out before they can be a four star restaurant. The flavors were good on the steak and ribs I ate but the cooking wasn't. The steak was overcooked from medium rare ordered to a medium well as served. After waiting for a recooked steak it came out as expected with a warm red center and not a dry tough pink center as first served. The steak had great flavor and a good crust, generous portion that was well enjoyed after getting it cooked to order. The ribs also had great flavor, both the dry rub and the sauced. Problem both were tough to chew off the bone, no fall off the bone on these ribs. It seemed the silver skin was still on the back of the ribs making them tougher to separate or bite. The sides of collard greens, mac and cheese, cornbread and beans were OK, There is quite a volume of customers and hopefully the Alamo will learn from their mistakes and get better. The bar area has things going better. The choices of drinks, tequilas, draft beers, bottled beers and servers are all very good. Service was friendly and fast, good place for drinks. Remember the Alamo, maybe they will get better performance and be able to defend their honor. It's a learning curve I hope the Alamo overcome. Good flavors need good cooking so I can do some good eating.
Had the brisket combo with candied jalapeno corn bread... Both were awesome!
Wow! I am so glad to have found this place, got a 3-meat combo with sides, and it was all great!
Amazing Bbq, home made sauces
The food was very good, the service excellent.I had the pulled pork with potato salad and baked beans and cornbread. My husband had the ribs. My favorite part was the cornbread and potato salad . The one thing that took away from the experience was the lights that hang down over the table are very bright and almost eye level. We definitely will go back but hopefully not sit in that booth.
Fun
Not great. Brisket extremely fatty. Willie Jewels is by far better quality meats.
Pleasant staff, great food
Pulled Chicken was moist and tasty, the brisket was done perfectly and the mac and cheese and cornbread were just right.
I'm from Texas, and it's really hard to find good BBQ up here. The food was great and it was really clean inside. We're definitely going back,
WOWWWWWW!!!!! This place is amazing. Great food at reasonable prices....cant believe this amazing place is in such a small town. If you're ever in Brookline, NH, YOU HAVE TO STOP!!!!
The recent overhaul of this place is amazing
Food was good, nice service
Awesome food an environment
Love Jillian and her crew, serving good food. Make sure to order the Jalapeno corn bread, delicious. The four sauces are perfect, each delectable. The AverillHouseVineyard crew loves to relax at the Alamo.
Southern NH needed a solid BBQ spot. I live in Boston and there's not one BBQ spot that holds a flame to their food. We ordered one of their 8-10 person take out meals and had plenty to go around for 7 big eaters. It was amazing after driving 20 minutes home so I can only imagine how it tastes dining in. I spent a year in NC and have traveled around the south extensively. This is the real deal. The pulled pork, turkey tips, jalapeno corn bread, and BBQ we're show stoppers. Bradley Gaudet suggested the Alamo doesn't belong in the BBQ game. Haters gonna hate. I'm willing to bet he burnt his tongue with hot coffee (and wrote a bad review for the coffee shop) that morning or has a grudge with someone who works there.
Great food and great service
Yesssss open! And good.
Nice to see something thriving in a space that hasn't held it's own since it was Griffing's Riverside. Huge tequila selection, it is a "Tequila Bar" after all, they have seasonal beers, and Texas beers on tap as well. I personally, am not a fan of BBQ, however, my husband is- and he loves the chicken wings, and brisket here.
Not too happy ...server was not attentive at all..really plastic cups...I thought brisket was very dry not impressed at all .might go back
We watched this place under construction for a long time and were exited to try a new place local to us. The atmosphere and service was great, However they have no business in the bbq game. If you’re driving by The Alamo and your hungry, stop in and you will have a decent meal at a fair price. This joint however is not a destination I would recommend for real, award winning BBQ. We’ve had great BBQ many places elsewhere and unfortunately The Alamo ranks dead last. In fact, it doesn’t even classify. Don’t take my word, try for yourself. I hope they get serious about BBQ, we want the Alamo to be successful!! We’ll be back...
Wonderful BBQ options! Friendly staff and great taste!
Brisket was good, service was good too! Coleslaw needs sugar too sour but overall a great meal and nice place!
Was so please with the food from the seasonings to the tenderness that we decided this is what we want for our wedding. We highly recommend trying everything on the menu and all the sauces!
The Margaritas we're weak, the service was attentive and gracious. The meat (ribs, turkey, brisket) we're at or above expectations. Note that my wife and I avoid sweets and sugar, and some of the dishes made the common error of having sweetening (corn bread) added which most diners would find delicious. Especially well done we're the ribs (NOT too sweet), collard greens and macncheese. Again many would rate it higher.
Each time I’ve been here the service, food, and drinks have been consistently great.
Unbelievable as usual pork wings and ribs nevermind delicious cocktails and donuts
The pulled pork was really fatty, and the brisket was kinda dry. The place is cool staff is friendly and attentive. The shuffle board table is a great touch. If they step up the quality of the meat a bit, it's an easy four star rating. We did have a great time there, and playing shuffle board was really fun!
Service was awesome, thanks Kaitlyn.
