They get high scores from me for just cooking their meat with BBQ sauce. Growing up, my mother always cooked bbq on a charcoal grill with the sauce...so I have always considered it really strange when I go to a restaurant and find that they give you plain meat and expect you to just use their sauce for dipping. Aka. I don't consider that real BBQ. I particular enjoy their Texas beef ribs. One major limiting factor with their sides is everything seems to have bacon in it. For those who don't eat pork or who may be vegetarian, you will find yourself quickly out of options.

Ordered the rib and chicken combo. Asked for dry rub on both and they came drenched in bbq sauce. The Memphis ribs were advertised as meatier then their other ribs. I think I was given the malnourished pig ribs. They barely had any meat. Not worth the price. I wont return.

If you closed your eyes, then you might think that you were somewhere down south at one of those infamous rib places that serves food cafeteria-style. I've been here a couple of times and my word for this place is DEEEE-licious! The Memphis Ribs plate is fantastic; the meat is tender and falls off the bone with little effort. The sides are equally good; I especially enjoy the mac and cheese and the sweet potatoes. Make sure to have plenty of napkins on hand to clean yourself once you are done because I guarantee you will end up with sauce on your face and hands. My son reports that the pulled pork sandwich is also very good. The staff is very friendly and courteous, the restaurant itself is clean and well-maintained with plenty of seating, and there is more than enough parking. Check out this place if you are a fan of authentic BBQ!

WHERE DO I BEGIN?? TENNESSEE BBQ IS THE BEST BBQ AROUND! I used Tennessee BBQ as my caterer for my wedding at Hammond castle on June 16th 2019! We had 50 guests. We wanted a Buffet style. They did such an awesome job, making it very easy for us to clean up. Everyone loved it. We got Brisket, Ribs, pulled pork, Dixie chicken thighs, potato salad. NONE OF IT WENT TO WAISTE!! We had no left overs which was awesome too. Thankyou soo much David the BBQ Guy for all your help.

Great BBQ at this place. Corn bread was just okay but everything else was delicious. I had pulled pork and my wife had the ribs. Fast and friendly service as well, my wife asked if she could get a side of mac n cheese after we had ordered and they guy gave it to us for free. Really nice place.

The smell right when you walk in tells you its the real deal. Good flavor. Nice smoke ring on the ribs good bite to it.Soda selection is terrible not your normal Coke or Pepsi products, a bit pricy if you are trying to feed a family when you start getting into options but no different if order a bunch of sides from a Chinese restaurant. Over all good food good people if you want BBQ around the Peabody Danvers area this is your place. Just my honest opinion

It's been years since my last visit but I remember the ribs being very good. Well, I was not disappointed this trip. The ribs were meaty and tender. The chicken, although tender, didn't have a spicy flavor (Caribbean chicken). More like smoked chicken with bbq sauce. The collard greens were good and the dirty rice had great flavor but had a chew to it that felt old. I'll be back and try different sides next time.

Very disappointed! The babyback ribs were all bone with very little meat on them. I gave a 2 star because the sides were still delicious. We will not be going back there. Too expensive for babyback bones, smashed potatoes and cornbread!

Normally this place ain’t too bad. I feel like the quality of the food has dropped over time. Tonight I got the chopped beef and brisket . Both super dry , Mac and cheese feels like the kraft in a box style and the mashed potatoes were hard and kept the shape of the container when you scooped them out. And to top it off on that they forgot the cucumber salad my wife loves. Of course got home when I realized that they didn’t give it to me and gave me two pieces of corn bread instead of the one I ordered. Wasn’t worth spending 20 min there and back with traffic to go get my cucumber salad. Hopefully the owners read this and can bring back the good quality they once were. Peabody location

This is a go to place for Pulled Pork and Ribs. It's counter service only but don't let that deter you. Order a nice cold beer and a Pulled Pork Sandwich with their cucumber salad as a side and prepare to be satisfied. Also great for catering a party.

Lacking flavor or uniqueness, this failed barbeque joint is not worth your time or money. The cashier seemed to not have much hope for business at the restaurant to pick up, and the cook staff on their phones didn't seem enthusiastic about creating delicious BBQ. All of this was confirmed once we began to eat. The BBQ chicken and brisket weren't inherently nasty, but they didn't seem of the quality a restaurant specializing in this type of food should produce for paying customers. The food was bland, and overall a let down. I will admit, the styling of the restaurant is excellent, and it really had me excited for my meal, but the lack of flavor really left me desiring more. How this restaurant could improve: Staff-look enthusiastic, as if you are excited for us to taste your food Food-needs more flavor/attention. The bland dishes left much to be desired regarding taste.

Fake. Awful. BBQ. The brisket isn't smoked. Its oven roasted. They try to pass it off as real. It's not. Awful over priced nasty food. Dirty restaurant. Filthy bathroom. No napkins. Brown paper towels that wipe nothing off. Dry chicken, tasteless coleslaw, three day old corn. Warm cokes. Not one positive comment. Won't ever return. Worst waste of $60. Disappointed can't really begin to convey this experience.

This place has gone way downhill over the years, to the point where I couldn't possibly imagine going back. While the meats here may have been smoked at some point, they seem to be microwaved before serving. Brisket I got the last time I was here was a very poor cut of meat and was grey all the way through (no pink, the indicator of smoke). The meat had veins and other undesirable cow parts. The fact that this was ever served to a customer is mind blowing. Avoid this place.

I never do this. I work in the industry, and I absolutely love Tennessee Bbq. Today was the first complaint I have ever had. I called at aprox. 2:30 pm, to order take out, I was put on hold, no one ever got back to me, so I called back, I asked her if they were busy? ( because of what happened) "she said" "kinda" . So I ordered, and got there, less than 10 minutes later. There were 0 customers, and, there are 4 employees sitting down, on their phones, they looked like I disturbed them, by coming in. What happened to actually doing your job? Not impressed. Love the food, and owners though, they are truly professional.

The best barbecue ive ever had in Massachusetts. Maybe the best barbecue ive ever had period. The food was fresh, hot, very tasty. The owner was a really nice guy and the restaurant was very clean and fully stocked with all condiments and utensils. There was plenty of parking and service was quick. Man I really like this place! If you're ever in the area and you love some good BBQ you have to stop in to Tennessee's and sample the menu. From brisket to ribs to chicken to pulled pork and burnt ends this place has some of the best BBQ I have had the pleasure of eating in Massachusetts. I tend to get the baby back ribs myself, and then the big decision is which of the many great sides to order with it. I tend to stick with a few of my favorites cucumber salad and mac n'cheese. Over the years we've used their catering service and they even came out to the house and cooked for a large gathering of friends right in my backyard. Fine quality BBQ and great service, you'll never leave hungry and you'll want to come back again and again.

We had a large take out order on Christmas Eve for dinner. They forgot everything besides the sides. When we called back they did not answer. Now we need to find dinner on Christmas Eve for 6 people when everything is closed.

When I pay 22+$ for a rack of ribs. I don't expect to get multiple end PCs. I expect a full rack of ribs,and when I ask for baby back ribs and get beef ribs. Not cool. Won't be back. Also when the sign says you open at 11am and I go at 11:18 and lights are on but doors are locked and sign says closed. Despite store hrs listed right on door.. Pretty annoying. Love bbq. But not a fan of this place. Save ur money. Get a smoker or go someplace else. Used to love this place. :(
