Friendly small restaurant with a couple of tables. A very original local institution. I tried the meatloaf sandwich and it was fantastic. Also had a sampling of the brisket and it was very good. Get the spicy sauce to go with it.

Incredible food. Try The Pit - pulled pork, brisket, homemade bacon and spicy BBQ sauce. So delicious. Very well prepared meats with delicious homemade sauces on toasted buns. This is a must-do spot for any time you're in the area.

This place is a tiny hole in the wall with maybe 3 tables, but WOW can they barbecue. Love that 2 types of slaw are available.

My first time experience of having meal delivered to me was wonderful! I ordered 4pieces of BBQ Chicken with Honey BBQ, sides of Rice & Baked beans. Chicken was very delicious, moist and tender cooked to the perfection. Next time i will try their Ribs. I would recommend this place to people who are looking quality and tasty food.

Great brisket and pulled pork. Wonderful combination sandwiches. Sides are delicious. Besides traditional American bbq he has smoked food with International marinades like caucus Style pork kabob. All very well done. Great variety. Only downside is very small area to eat. Very amiable guys run it.

BEST BRISKET EVER!!!! I've been coming here for years now and I've tried almost everything on the menu. The food is outstanding! I have to say the beef brisket melts in your mouth and is a must try! Rosti is the owner and a great guy who really takes great pride in what he does and he always goes over and beyond to make sure you leave satisfied! Highly Recommend to all you meat lovers! Excellent for take out bbq, great ribs, very meaty. Sides also great and plentiful, had beans, Cole slaw, and fried potatoes. Ribs and sides we had all gluten free which is great for my son who is celiac. Would highly recommend.

My wife and I came here for BBQ and I spent about 38 dollars and ended up throwing everything - every single thing - away and going somewhere else for BBQ. It all seemed to be precooked and heated. The brisket was fatty and tough and really bad, the pulled pork tough as well, ribs again just seemed to be heated and were terrible. The sides were also not good, I threw them all away, I got mac and cheese (my daughter didn't eat) beans and cole slaw and corn on cob. Also I am not sure how much an extra roll is but they were all stale and I bought 6 of them which brought my price up a few dollars (at blue ribbon they are 30 cents each). I hope that this was just a one time thing but as a customer that spent a lot of money and likes to buy local I was very disappointed at the quality of food and the fact that is cost me so much.

Great bbq! Angry Ukrainian is great, but would be nice to see a happy Ukrainian - the pork cutlets with cucumbers is such a great flavor combo. But wow that sauce is definitely up there on the heat scale. The fried chicken is excellent if you're not in a hurry. I recommend this place for delicious takeout.

There were mixed reviews when I looked this place up, but most were good and 4.6 stars usually means good food, right? Wrong. We spent $80 on food. Here's the breakdown: Potato wedges -over seasoned (almost too salty to eat) and as crispy as chips, not potatoey like normal wedges are Fries - super salty, but overall not bad Fried chicken - overcooked, tough and bland Bbq grilled chicken - burnt Mashed potatoes - inedible Cornbread - was probably good the day it was made, however that day was not today Roasted potatoes - ditto the cornbread. Maybe they were made today, but not to order Rice - not standout but nothing wrong with It Bbq ribs - not fall off the bone, but good flavor Brisket - good flavor, good texture Pulled pork - good Staff was accommodating and pleasant, food took about 30 minutes to come together (we were advised not to get the chicken because it took 25 minutes to cook) buuuut it was a big order so we expected the wait. Very disappointing. I don't like to say I wasted money on food, but the majority of this meal was not enjoyable. Would not return.

Some of the best food I’ve ever had, moved to Wakefield just this past November and I’ve been by usually once a week. Good food, good prices, good portions. Staff is always friendly too. I’ve tried numerous things on the menu and have yet to find something I dislike. All in all you can’t really go wrong here.

I'm from Texas and I am very picky on how my meat is prepared. I need my meat cooked but with some moisture left to it. The staff at the Pit Stop were friendly and helpful. I placed my order for take out, and was not disappointed. The ribs were meaty and well cooked but not dry. The chicken and corn cob were well cooked as well. My uncle loved his food...we will be back.

A legit great bbq joint! I stopped in today and had the chicken + egg sandwich (among other things) and it was delish! You'll be able to have most of your bbq favorites and the cost is right where it should be! Make sure to stop in because you won't be disappointed! :-)

Place was fantastic! I was their mailman today and I totally wasn’t going to continue delivering mail without grabbing some food. Their grill/smoking/cooking contraptions are really cool. The smell!!! Wow! If you like BBQ... DON’T miss out on checking this place out. ☝️ I’ll be back. Had the pulled pork, which was awesome, but while waiting for my order I saw the most spectacular burger cooking on the most funky grill I’ve seen.

Tried this place for the first time today and had a great experience. Friendly staff, and very good food. Wish the Ribs would have that “fall of the bone” texture but they were still very good. Mash was awesome! And the brisket was also very enjoyable. Overall, very enjoyable and will definitely be back.

I had the pick 3: wings with honey BBQ, 1/3 rack of ribs with spicy BBQ, and pulled pork with spicy BBQ. 2 sides: cornbread, slaw with mayo. Ribs & wings were excellent. Pulled pork was good, but I like more sauce in it. Cornbread was excellent, but needed butter. Slaw was the only thing I'd never get again. It needed salt and pepper and had too much vinegar. Service was excellent and the staff is super, super friendly. Really enjoyed chatting with them. Place is super small. Only two small tables. At the end, we were given a sample of the brisket. Wow, wow, wow! I don't like brisket. But that piece of meat melted in my mouth. I will definitely be back to try

Great food, great people, great place. My wife always orders the burger (I hear it's the best in Wakefield!) and I mostly alternate between the brisket and pulled pork, but the chicken wings are great too. If I ate wheat, I would try every signature sandwich on the menu because... well, just read the menu. If you live in Wakefield and haven't been to Pit Stop, you're doing it wrong.

Literally the best BBQ I love had in MA. I've grown up with Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse, NY and this seriously competes. Got an extra side of chips and sauce to go so I could have it later. Will be back! I suggest you make the trip.

I REALLY REALLY wanted to like this place because I love barbecue. So the guy who took my order was awesome and funny, so I really wanted to like it. Ordered brisket/ribs with mashed potatoes and grilled corn. And a burger and fries. Get the order home: no mashed potatoes and the corn smelled and looked burnt and was inedible. The ribs were tough, the brisket was ok, and the burger was decent.

I didn't care for the ribs. They were pulled out of the fridge and warmed up while I waited. They were not sauced nor did they have a dry rub. The ribs tasted like something from a chain restaurant.

Wasn't sure what to expect when I went in, but the food was amazing. the mac and cheese and pit sandwich is what I had. Wish they served beer and no Byob allowed. The owner is very personable and friendly. Great spot for fast casual barbeque with a few tables if need be.
