One start for getting the order right and one for having it ready on time. Everything else was negative about this place. Crab Rangoons tasted like they were frozen and reheated. Hot and sour soup had good spices but the mushrooms were slimy and grey and very unappealing. Orange chicken so sweet couldn't even eat it... literally tasted like it was coated in plain honey. Crispy duck not crispy at all and very gamey taste. It did have a nice amount of veggies with it though so that was good. Pork fried rice tasted like rice-a-roni with soy sauce. Overall a bad experience. We wanted to like this place since it's close to home but this is our third try and it's always bad. Won't be trying it again.

I have been eating at north China for close to 20 years. Changed ownership maybe 10 years ago little changed except the egg rolls. The one main waiter is awesome if you come regularly but can see that his personality might come off as rude but he is generally pleasant. The food is awesome. I reccomend the fried dumplings and the Kung po chicken.

Awesome Chinese food. Very busy place at times. I get the sesame chicken with chicken fingers, fried rice, and bar b q pork dinner combo frequently. It's a lot of food. Good chicken curry , crab rangoon, house special fried rice , and egg drop/won ton soups. Full bar.

I’ve been a long time costumer. They don’t deliver to Holyoke so I drive to Chicopee to eat their food. My family and I really enjoy their food although their one and only server is racist and rude af. So last night I got out of work late and decided to eat a quick meal there. I new it was late (9pm when I called) so I tried to call to place the order to dine in. Due to the fact that they always bring the rice wait 15 min bring the pupu platter then 15 more min then they bring my lo mein. The lady respond no you can’t do that take order only. So I tell her ok but I’m 5 min away will I be able to still order she said yes but they close at 10pm. Upon entering the door with my 2 girls she points at the clock reading 9:11 pm and says we close at 10. Ok? I look around no one is in there. So I’m assuming it’s fine 45 min should be good there’s no one here. Server comes out rude as well saying we close at ten what u want what u want? I’m like can I just get a high chair real quick. Cuz I’m still standing with the baby on my arm and he’s like wait! Let me take order and put it in then I’ll get u your chair? I’m like are you serious? After a long day and I haven’t ate u got me here standing like an idiot as if we were bothering you? Ok I told him off. He will remember me forever and will also know how to treat me at the very least next time he ever crosses paths with me. He’s such a nasty person his attitude is disgusting. And he thought like every other time I’m there I would just deal with it. No. Plus my baby is heavy how inconsiderate. I will never ever go there again and if my girls weren’t there and I wasn’t holding my baby I would smaked him senseless! The cook came to the front and he said he was sorry and we were absolutely right. Other times I’m there he tries to tell me how to order my food. Leaves us waiting for refills. He’s not good st his job st all and neither is the cashier. Both rude and ignorant. Need People skills.

My 1st choice Chinese Restaurant! I frequent several times a month. Orders are consistent quality and made to order including personal requests for meal additions / substitutions. Family owned and extremely personable! Regular customers are treated like family. Highly recommend any choice from menu. Service is timely for both carryout and delivery with fair prices across the board. When returning from travel, it's the 1st place I stop back in for, for my pork fried rice with extra onions...lol. No comparison in my opinion.

Male server was rude when I asked for honey to sweeten my tea, like really??? Asian restaurant that doesn't use honey in their tea???Who knew? The biggest issue was finding hairs and foreign debris on the pu pu platter serving bowl! When we addressed it with the servers it was brushed off like it's normal to have other people hair served with your food. Disgusting to say the least...and to top it off, a slap in the face by taking $3.00 off the bill! Never again will I eat here!!! Oh yeah almost forgot....the water that is served taste like it came from the toilet bowl...gross!

Had the worst server (was a man or male species anyway) had attitude from the beginning. Gave wrong food to people at table then TOLD us to pass them to the right people! Seriously? I don't work there. Sadly it was a birthday celebration that was ruined my this little guy! Bad Bad ATTITUDE! then pulled a Sissy fit loudly, when he realized I gave him the EXACT amount for the bill. Literally stood in front of me and DEMANDED a tip! Told me don't come back! Yeah like that's gonna happen! It could've gotten real ugly for this little guy but I kept composure! One star only cause the food was decent! NEVER HAD A WORSE SERVER!

Went there tonight to celebrate my mother in laws birthday- i’ve Never personally dined in there but the food has been good in the past so we decided to treat her. It was tragic :-/!!! highly understaffed for A Saturday night during dinner rush. This is a family owned and operated outfit so...it’s really up to them to staff appropriately to accommodate their in house guests. The waiter seemed very rushed (he was) and upset. Didn’t organize order taking at all. No manners, no up selling, no drinks....just hurry up and order. Literally how he put it “hurry up tell me what you want.” We just ordered entrees but would have ordered fountain drinks, bar drinks, appetizers and entrees had we not been bumrushed into ordering. A zombie WOULD HAVE BEEN LOVELY and it’s much better for everyone that liquor didn’t make it to me tonight...the waiter would not have lived through it. It took 2 hours TWO to get our food one entree at a time...we weren’t served in unison. My food was...they’ve made better meals. This wasn’t their best. It was really bad LIKE REALLY REALLY bad. Smelled bad, looked bad. It was BAD. The waiter forgot a drink so we went and got it ourselves. No big deal. Another one of us decides to have a ginger so I go to request one and basically get told to wait for the waiter. Smh I told her he’s pretty busy but it’s for that party over there. Just add it to the bill. She basically looked at me sideways like I was trying to swindle a can of ginger ale out of her lol. We finish and wait to leave...another hour...so I bus my table and clear some room for us. Finally my father in law gets fed up let’s the front know we’d like to leave and box our things up and maybe have the bill etc...so she tallies the bill...he pays and let’s her know he will leave the tip on the table. See...we don’t tip on credit cards. Wait staff gets taxed on that and WE don’t agree to that practice so we tip CASH. We’re all sitting at the table. My mother with her walker, my father with his cane waiting patiently for the waiter to complete an order he is taking, myself, and their sons...SITTING at the table...the waiter turn around and YELLS at my father in law about not leaving a tip at the front. He only makes a dollar an hour as a waiter how dare he not tip- THE WHOLE RESTAURANT WENT DEAD SILENT. The accusation was not only unfounded but publicly embarrassing!! This exact moment is why I’m glad no liquor made it to my mouth because unlike my father in law who has the patience of a saint I DO NOT and likely would have decked the guy. My father in law calmly explained what he was doing and why. The couple he was taking the order from said very plainly they wouldn’t have tipped him at all. Frankly- tips are for at least decent service which we didn’t receive for one single solitary moment: Long story short. Don’t dine in at north China. There’s literally WAYYYY better service and WAYYYYY better food a quarter of a mile away at ichiban. 2090 memorial dr 01075. YOU’RE WELCOME.

Ah yes, the infamous lightning fast waiter. I was put off at first too with his brisk pace, but let me tell you, that guy is PROMPT. Our teapot was always full, our courses always arrived just in time. I ordered their house special H16, the "Bird's Nest" - a stunning array of diverse ingredients! Shrimp, scallops, beef, chicken, AND pork! And it was served in this amazing edible bowl arrangement. I never expected this kind of artistry out of a little place like this 9 o'clock at night! I plan to return soon.

I've been eating at North China for many years !! Everything is delicious and the food is served hot and promptly ..dine in, take out or delivery !! Their rice is outstanding and the Moo Shoo has the BEST pancakes I've ever eaten.....they cook the food as intended which makes for much more pleasureful eating !! The menu is guaranteed to hit all your taste buds !! Plus the owner is on-site, courteous and accommodating !! I highly recommend North China for a satisfying eating experience !! Enjoy !!!!!

My husband introduced me to this place when I was pregnant. I'm extremely picky as my dad is a 5 star chef. I grew up in that kinda household. Why eat out when he can make everything at home? Well let me tell you something. This is by far my most favourite place to eat asian dishes. The waiter is wonderful and attentive. The food is fresh and HOT. I always get something different. Always. Their egg too young is wonderful. The soup is awesome. The dumpling are to die for. The tea is just right. If you can satisfy a pregnant woman who throws up everything you must be doing something right. I gave birth 2 months ago and this is still the go to spot. I love it. Now nothing is ever perfect, the general tso is supposed to be spicy but is not. And whatever else. But either way I'd pick this place over any other any day of the week. Give it a try.

If I could put no stars I would. The food messed up my stomach. And our waiter was very rude. He was rushing us with our orders and gave so much attitude, so when we decided not to tip, due to the poor service, he Chased us to the door and tried to force us to tip him saying he doesn’t work for free and he will remember our faces and that they will never serve us again. He made sure to yell at each of us on how he doesn’t work for free as we walked out. All in all terrible place. Don’t ever go.

It's good. I visited here looking for an alternate now that Huke Lau is no longer open. Pupu platter was pretty good. Fried rice combination style (Beef, Chicken, pork and shrimp) was very good. Egg foo young was good but I didn't care for the gravy. Egg rolls were just okay. I don't think I'll ever find a place that has egg rolls like Huke Lau had. The atmosphere not so great but the waiter was fabulous! Literally fabulous! They do have a full bar. Missed taking photos. Sorry.

I have ordered takeout several times fom here and the food was good. I am very upset. When I called the woman taking my order was very rude. I was asking if they had a shrimp and broccoli dinner combonation and if there was a moo goo giapan dinner combonation since I couldn't find it on thier menu. Her response" we very busy right now. You need to look at menu and tell me what you want. I can't we are too busy. All I did was ask a simple question and I recieved awful service. They just lost a long time standing customer!

The food was absolutely nothing to brag about. The waiter was surly and totally unfriendly. It was not like they were busy. I walked in at 4:15pm - the only occupants were the fish - myself and a man folding napkins. The waiter came out seated me and was rude from the get go. He sneered at my order - when I asked for chopsticks I had to wait for 7 minutes. Another couple arrived and when I left after 5pm he had 8 people at one table and 2 tables of 2 people each. It would not have been hard to ask if everything was ok etc... $15.00 later all I can say was that I will never darken that doorstep again. Several Chinese Restaurants are in the area will try someplace else.

Food is great, so maybe order & pick up to bring home however if you plan on going out to eat for chineese i HIGHLY suggest you go literally anywhere else. The male server & from what i could tell the only one they have is by far the rudest person i have ever met. His attitude is disgusting he has no filter & clearly shouldnt be working with people at all. There are not enough characters to explain my whole experience there but here were just a few comments he made to the people around us. A lady with her 3 kids & mother were there for dinner she ordered her meals for everyone then went to add one more item the server snapped at her, and said "Are you really going to order all of that food? You all dont need all of that food really you dont need to eat all of that" & to the party of maybe 10 behind us 2 men ordered as well for everyone at their table & while they were ordering their kids were joking around not loud at all i could still clearly hear what was being ordered 6+ feet away & the sever yelled at their children. None of them spoke up but just wispered as he walked away because they were w their family didnt want to say anything. I on the other had was on a date & the night was runied because of the way this man was talking to not only us but everyone else. When explained to the manager & i believe owner what happened she simply defended the serve & said hes tired hes been working alot today. I told her this wasnt the first time I've been there & had him speak to me like that she simply said well that's Just how he is what do you want me to do about it? His attitude is what keeps me from eating there but her comments & reasoning for it keeps me from ever spending a cent there again.

Food is great but the service is rude. God forbid you have an allergy and you inform them and their answer is "you get what you get, you pick out or go somewhere else!" Wondering when are they going to realize that there are laws that are being broken if they serve some one food that informed them of allergies also they don't advertise Any warnings of food allergies in store or menu. Other than that food is good but if you have allergies like they'll tell go somewhere else basically refusing services.

I would say: Please do not take the negative reviews as enough to stop you from trying. If you are not sure of what you want, stick to what I get -- I get a small Beef & Broccoli, and a small Sesame Chicken. Mix it with the white rice and it is a great, cheap meal (~14$). I've had no price discrepancies. Please understand as well that this restaurant is generally very busy, but understandably so if you realize that the serving sizes they give are giant! For 14$ I can buy one large pizza, or I could buy an entire filled bag of Chinese.
