Amazon service. You can tell these people are happy at work. What a great team.
The only 5 star I've ever given to any restaurant in Boston. Everything is always perfect. Food, bar, ambiance, service.
Best fancy food I ever had! The staff was wonderful felt like we were the only ones there. Free champagne for our anniversary was nice
I no longer live in Boston anymore, but No. 9 is still the restaurant that I talk about. I even made a trip back to Boston with my boyfriend just to take him to this place since I love it so much. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is amazing, everything No. 9 is amazing. If you love good food and are willing to pay for it, No. 9 is an absolute must.
So classy best waiter ever thank you
Excellent. Surprised by how good every course was. Service was attentive but not over bearing. Food was perfect.
One of the best meals I've had. The prune stuffed gnocchi, the signature dish, is so elegantly rich without being overpowering. The menu is creative and well thought out. The service and wine parings are excellent as well. I can't imagine someone coming here and leaving dissatisfied.
The food was good/well cooked, the waitstaff was excellent, the ambience is classy, but the food lacked imagination. It fit with the staid older crowd but isn't quite worth going back to when compared to other stellar restaurants in Boston.
Not as good as their price
Restaurant week can be a bit of a hit or miss and for me it was solidly in between. 3.5 if I could. The service was really good. We arrived on time for our reservation made the day before, and only had to wait a few minutes before being whisked away to our table. Our table was located in the corner, next to a window over looking the park. Kevyn was attentive and gave great service. From the menu I got the three course option with the little gem lettuce, Faroe island salmon and the black forest torte. I found everything to be good, with quality ingredients. However, I couldn't say that the food left an impression that I would come back for anything on the restaurant week menu. Portions were small, but I left satisfied after all the courses. Perhaps a follow up visit is warranted during a regular week. It's very convenient to get to.
The crab salad and foie gras, recommend!
Fabulous tasting menu with excellent wine pairings. The wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable.
Incredible experience. The flight is the way to go. Memorable evening for sure.
Great food with impeccable service! Every course of the tasting menu was delicious, including the foie gras paired expertly with pear, and the perfectly al dente pasta vongole. Also, don't forget the cheese course, with some great options!
Fine Dining done right. A lot of places like this are all style and no substance, No.9 Park is the genuine article. Subtle yet attentive service, knowledgeable waiting staff and food that was simply out of this world. Not to blow my own trumpet, but I'm a damn fine cook, yet even their cheapest entree had me scratching my head at just how they managed to turn a simple Chicken Breast into something absolutely magical. I wish I could say I'd be returning soon, but I had to return home after my vacation! I'd make monthly visits if I was a Boston native, an absolute treat on every level.
Spectacular tasting menu that was tailored to our dietary needs, and they were gracious and happy to do it. Wine pairing was perfect, featuring nontraditional options that expanded our palate. Our server was top notch, incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. Don't miss this place.
It was our 1st time at the restaurant after years of wanting to go and I have to say we were a little underwhelmed. Sorry to say that about such a venerated institution. It's kind of an odd place. It's very expensive but has a very casual feel. (Don't get too dressed up.) Nearly everyone there seemed to be celebrating a special occasion. The service was excellent although it was never clear who exactly our server was. We did the chef's tasting menu with 6 courses and opted for the caviar supplement ($60 each) and an additional supplemental course. The caviar was not worth the extra cost. The food was presented beautifully and simply but some dishes were over-salted and other dishes were bland and lacking in texture. The best thing we had was the "pre-dessert" which was a meringue candy with black sesame sucre. I'm glad we finally had the chance to go, and I'm sure it's a great place to have a couple drinks and a bite after work, but I don't think No.9 is high on our list of places to revisit.
Great portion size for the cost! (Not an everyday dinner price point, but the quality of food and how much you get is totally worth it). Super accommodating for a large party and the service was impeccable.
Such a bummer! I have wanted to go to this restaurant for years and it was finally a perfect occasion, my friend's birthday. We had a scallop appetizer that was pretty good and then gnocchi which was quite good. However the entrees, hake, …
Lovely food a little slow with a cocktail but bar was busy. Pleasant service. Good wines by the glass.
Wait, what? Google says I have never reviewed No. 9? I hardly know where to start. I have essentially considered it my living/dining room since it opened. Everything about it is damn near perfect - food, beverages, service, atmosphere. I probably spend more waking hours there than I do in my (tiny) condo. Love.
Very disappointing meal. While one expects small portions, these small portions have always been well prepared, well presented and tasty. Last evening, two of us ordered the swordfish - which was dry, over cooked and incredibly salty. …
Fantastic service. Delicious food. This restaurant is the real deal. My wine/water glasses were never empty and my napkin was folded when I returned from the rest room. Each plate was meticulously crafted and so delicious. The waitstaff was prompt, responsive, and extraordinarily professional.
Really good food! Small portions but I guess that's what happens in fancy places lol
Fancy place with an elegant setting, great service and good food. We had the grilled artichoke, which did not really taste much as artichoke because the sauce had a sober flavor, the prune filled gnocchis, which were delicious, and the duck, which was good. For dessert they have great cheese varieties.
I've had the best birthdays here!! ☺
Great food atmosphere
Tl;dr: If you read this review and still go, I tried to warn you and it’s your own fault. I just graduated from college. My dining hall began with nicer ingredients than this restaurant. My entire party was unable to eat multiple of the dishes, and one had to be sent back as the shrimp had fouled. I would be less offended had we spent $45 or so each, yet the price tag was closer to $200. It’s really a shame that this used to be one of the city’s premier restaurants.
Exceptional place and the staff was so nice! I enjoyed every suggestion they made from the beverages to the desserts. I will be back, no doubt!
Service and presentation were awesome. The food, not as much.
We went for restaurant week and despite the outstanding service, excellent ambiance, and fair price point, I was underwhelmed.
Excellent, albeit expensive. We enjoyed the tasting menu. They allowed quite a bit of substitution. We added a course, swapped a course, and dropped a course (dessert). All was excellent. I found the wine pricing reasonable. Not inexpensive, but not inflated as it might have been. Certainly recommended.
Great experience from start to finish. Thank you for a memorable evening.
Pricey but you get what you pay for. The food and service were excellent. Our servers knowledge of the wines and cheeses was astonishing.
100% not worth the price. Or the food needs to be 100% better. It was good but not that good.
My husband and I came to No 9 park for our special anniversary dinner. Our waiter was very friendly and all our food are delicious. My favorite dish was the liver gnocchi. I am so grateful to have this place in my neighborhood.
Everything that I hoped it would be and more. I was blown away by the entire experience bumper-to-bumper. Alex was my waiter. He performs flawlessly. Everything about this place screams brilliance. Look forward to my next trip back
Flawless service in a relaxed atmosphere...no attitude here. The food was equally flawless in execution, and a relatively good value. I would definitely return, especially to just drop in at the bar.
Lamb and steak were good. Fresh peas were delicious. Swordfish special and amuse bouche were overcooked. Portions are light. Three pieces of watermelon in my salad for $17. Fancy or no, a portion doesn't need be huge, but it should leave you feeling you ate a meal.
Fantastic service, delicious cocktails, wine, and food. Had a wonderful time.
I got the dine out Boston. The appetizer was nice and different, though not something I would get again. The chicken was perfect, the skin was very well seasoned and crisp. The dessert was reasonable. However, I did have more expectations out of the dessert. The staff was friendly though a little slow. The drinks arrived after the main course arrived even though we ordered them first. I liked it for trying it once, but probably won't be going back anytime soon.
Excellent restaurant.
A Boston institution for good reason. The bar is fantastic for surprisingly casual, but memorable visits.
Food was great but one of my friends got a piece of plastic in the duck. But they waived it off at the end.
The service was 5 star, food was good. For the price, I expected more. Especially the wine. For a $28 glass, the heavens should have been singing down with every sip.
One uncanny talent is my ability to select an establishment's signature dish simply by reading its' menu. This past Monday was no exception when I asked for the pruned-stuffed gnocchi. Jared, the bartender, enthusiastically shared with me …
First off, this review is only for the restaurant week menu. I feel like restaurant week menus in general are hits or misses depending on the restaurant. No. 9 Park was underwhelming for the price. The service overall was really good. The servers were all attentive, but not overbearing. The cocktails were ok, but nothing to write home about. At $14 a cocktail, I kind of expected more.... The appetizers were mixed. I loved the smoked bluefish; the flavor was on point. The foie gras was not that great. They tried something weird subbing a piece of blueberry bread for the usual toast. It was overly sweet and did not have the signature crunch that is expected when pairing with a rich and fatty dish like foie gras. The entree was a huge disappointment. We both ordered the spaghetti vongole. What we got was pasta that was cooked perfectly al dente, but drenched in butter with almost no other flavor profile. I might as well just have eaten a stick of herb butter with each bite of pasta, it was that bad. There were a couple of sad small clams in the pasta, but I couldn't even taste them due to the butter overpowering everything else. The desserts were pretty good. German chocolate cake was alright, and the peaches and cream was a good light finisher. Bill+gratuity came to $150. At that price point, do yourselves a favor and either go a few blocks to the North end for fantastic seafood or to Mistral for superior french cuisine.
Great food. Excellent service. High end, but didn't feel stuffy. Overall quality about what you would expect for a less formal restaurant at that price level. (around $150 per person before tip)
The chef’s tasting menu was top notch - all four of us enjoyed every course and had a different favourite. The gnocchi is a must add-on!! The service was wonderful - they made the birthday girl feel so special right from the time we walked in the door for our reservation, and they were beyond accommodating to intolerances/allergies. Would highly recommend!
Although Dishes taste very good, service and clean was very bad. Spill the water on my phone and did not tell me. I recognized after talking. Spoon was not washed at all. I do not want to pay any tip even dishes. Horrible place.
Annual pilgrimage! Always the best.
Went during restaurant week. Strongly recommend the place. Four gras was awesome.
Not much I can say that hasn't already been said, but No. 9 Park has to be my favorite restaurant in Boston. Consistently impeccable service and food. Went for a birthday dinner one of times and it seemed like everyone in the place was told about the occasion. The menu doesn't change too drastically between seasons, but it is always delicious. Wonderful place for a special occasion or just to treat yourself.
I had the 6 course meal and it was the best food of my life.
Fantastic foodand excellent service. Strong attentionto detail.
My wife and I celebrated a 30th birthday here and we felt No. 9 Park missed the mark on a few things. When we arrived the valet made us feel a little uncomfortable about payment which we didn't make a big deal out of but it didn't start the …
A beautiful location and amazing food. Great for special occasions. Did the tasting menu with the wine pairing and it was simply divine. One of the best meals in Boston.
Excellent service and drinks. Didn't eat here but the food did look amazing.
Just sublime. The food is magical. I’ve lived by the coast my entire life and never had seafood like that. And of course the prune studded gnocchi is a must. Beyond the food, the staff is amazing. Service like I’ve never seen (literally ever) and amazing knowledge about all of the dishes and the very long wine list - seriously impressive. I don’t treat myself to meals like this very often but I am so glad I did. You won’t be disappointed if you choose to do the same.
The food would have been bad if it cost $40 a person, but it's also very expensive. This was our second time there the first time was okay. This time our appetizer tasted and looked like a microwaved pasta dish. It's ricotta filling was bland and not properly proportioned. The pork was overcooked, we couldn't even cut it and accompanied by slopped on leftover Thanksgiving sides. The octopus and sausage but also non properly cooked proteins with odd textures. We've been to Barbara Lynches places, this one certainly shouldn't be called the "flagship".
Very upscale for a great meal
Food and service were both very solid. I must say that I was a little bit surprised at the lack of unique ambiance as I was expecting to see something I would remember. That's the only reason for a 4/5 vs a 5. I highly recommend an upgrade to the interiors.
Tasting menu was excellent. Service was superb. Dining experience has changed to more relaxed, less stuffy over the years, yet without losing it's elegant quality.
We went during restaurant week, a wonderful meal at a great price. The bread was warm, the service and the meal wonderful.
Really delicious food and great staff here!
I don't know where to begin. If you love good food, and are willing to pay for it, this is the right place to be. Be prepared to buy extras, there were some terrific ads that it would have been a shame to miss. Service was outstanding, food, perfect. 100% recommend.
Great restaurant, great people.
Incredible service, amazing food. Pours could be bigger with the tasting menu, but fantastic overall.
