Had a lot of fun at music bingo night at Mingo's. Place is a pretty typical sports bar. Got some chips with salsa and queso for an app which was not great. Chips were kind of stale and queso was straight up ball park nacho cheese. Both the French dip and chicken club sandwiches were good. Overall okay place that was hopping on bingo night.

The wife and I went here for our 6th anniversary and the food and drinks were amazing! Incredible service by our waitress Cat! She welcomed us in, treated us like family and really made us feel at home. Great place, highly recommend.

I have literally never written a review before, but this place was so bad, I really feel the need to. We were seated, our waitress walks over and just stares at us. No “hey guys how’s it going? My name’s ____ I’ll be your server tonight....”. So I feel awkward and uncomfortable. Besides that, we waited 40 minutes for our curly fries and mozzarella sticks to come out. The curly fries were cold. Another 20 minutes goes by and we finally get our food (Caesar salad, small pulled pork nachos). The salad was warm, croutons were soggy, and 2 slices of chicken was an extra $4 which is outrageous for fake frozen food. The nachos were over cooked, had very little toppings (lettuce, cheese, etc) and more disappointingly, the pork was over cooked and dry and there was MAYBE 4 teaspoons of the stuff. We didn’t eat more than 3 bites of the nachos. When she offered a box for them, we declined because we didn’t want them— they were nasty. Instead of taking them off the tab because we hated them and the service was SO bad, she left them on and I paid $10 for something I waited an hour for, was cold, over cooked, and had almost no pork. This place is downright awful. Don’t go here if you want reasonable prices or even mediocre service.

This was my favorite place to eat. I am a very picky eater and I enjoyed Mingos, needlessly someone tried to fix something that wasn't broken and of course failed miserably. The new menu is dedicated for drinkers only. With very limited selections. The bartender is rude and can not even make simple mixed drinks. The wait for food on a slow night was 25mins after ordering. My husband couldn't even have fries without a up charge. The chips he received with his club was literally 7 chips. For $12 for the price quality and lack of professionalism i gave it 2 stars. The last star is due to the chiefs were so disgusting walking around in sweatpants dirty clothes and stringy hair all over that I actually felt sick and could not finish my meal. How sad that this place closed with good people and good food to reopen with rude unclean and terrible staff and food. 1 star. I will not return

We ordered lobster rolls and they were perhaps the best I've ever had. Came with sweet potato fries, which were delicious. Excellent lobster Mac and cheese. Beer was cold and tasty and our waitress was fabulous--courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Prices were extremely reasonable. We sat outside and watched the trains go by. What a great little casual place. Can't wait to go back...

Mingo's, while OK most of the time, has completely blown it with me following several poor experiences. First example: why does the kitchen close at 9:00 P.M. when the bowling alley - full of hungry patrons - is open until 11:00 P.M? Beer and spirits are served throughout but no food? Second: why was I charged for my meal on Veterans' Day when I was there - in uniform - on that day? The straw that broke the camel's back occurred last Saturday when I ordered the turkey sandwich MINUS mayo... I was VERY clear about it... NO MAYO! When my plate arrived a few minutes later with a huge tub of disgusting mayonnaise featured prominently in the middle of the plate, I knew we had a serious attention to detail problem in this establishment and as a result will never patronize Mingo's again. I hate to publish a negative review, but in this instance it is more than indicated. Overpriced food, irresponsible hours of operation and a serious problem paying attention to detail (and customers' expressly detailed wishes) make this necessary. Of note, however, is the fact that the waitstaff is very nice.

Looked all night for a nice bar in alpena, finally found mingos and was extremely impressed. The owner found out I was moving to alpena for work and bought the first two round of drinks. Excellent restaurant/bar

Thought it was going to be better than before, I was mistaken. Food wait just as long if not longer, 2/3's of menu has been removed, bartender can't make a margarita? And when we sent it back she said it was fine and drank it herself lol. So sad, was a disappointment.

Omg it was suppose to be dinner with a group of girls. Then we find out its music bingo, we all said no were not playing. Music starts we start singing then the waitress brings over the bingo sheets. Guess what 9 ladies and we were playing music bingo. We all had a blast. Now we are talking maybe once a month going for it. Lots of fun.

The food was good but I only had a quesadilla . They had keno and alcohol. The bowling alley part was closed and the sign mentions something about golf but I didnt see it anywhere. Our waitress was nice and somewhat efficient.

Food is not like the original Mingos. Potato planks not cooked enough...some potatoes were black in the middle. Wings were ok but nothing to write home about. Service for food took way to long.
