Had dinner at the chefs table. Excellent experience. They don't make the food immediately in front of you like other chefs tables, but you enjoy a complete view of the chefs preparing your food. Very cool! Food is excellent. Service is better. I would highly recommend.

Came here for me and my partner’s birthday since it’s labeled $$$$, and their food did not met my expectations. Four stars voting for the nice environment and service, other than this nothing special. Two people cost around 550. In my opinion it is overpriced. Would not come back again.

A nice interior and good food, but it is so dark that you hardly see what is on your plate and some of the waiters need to learn from which side to serve. One of the few restaurants in Boston where the red wine is served at the right temperature. Overall, room to improve.

I'm reviewing Menton against the type of restaurant it purports to be, that is an elevated fine dining restaurant that should be regarded as the top food experience. If that is the goal, I would say compared to others in its class, it's a mediocre experience. The decor and space is beautiful and the bar area is also inviting. The service is mediocre to weak for a restaurant at this level. Several of servers are inexperienced and many do not speak English to a level you can understand them. Accents are fine, but if they can't describe the food in a clear manner, that's a knock against the establishment. The food itself is again, very middle of the road. The tasting menu has very few wow moments or highlights of the best of their cuisine. There were a few notable dishes but again, nothing spectacular. There was only one time where the spacing of the course went totally off the rails, otherwise it was generally paced fine. The wine pairings and selections are excellent, but the pours are very light for many tasting menus at this level. Although the Michelin guide does not review in Boston -- I doubt Menton would even be worthy of contention. The food quality alone would be an immediate non starter for not elevating into the class of one Michelin starred restaurants. The last time I was there, the restaurant still had a very creative feel in its dishes and the quality was excellent. Barbara Lynch is and was regarded as one of the stalwarts of fine dining, but I wonder if her influence isn't as focused or her attention outside the dishes themselves. The service was also far better last time I dined there. Again, if you compare Menton to any legion of restaurants, it is far better. When you compare it against the places it holds itself out to be on the same level, it's very disappointing.

Was there for a private party and had given the restaurant prior request for vegan food. All the dishes were excellent, well thought out. It was beautiful. If you're vegan, call ahead and they won't disappoint you!

A delayed Valentine's dinner turned into our favorite eating experience yet in Boston. Exquisite and unique food that were surprisingly filling for the portions. On the pricier end but absolutely worth it. The staff was also extremely cordial and personable but not too pressing. Will definitively return.

AAA 5 diamond restaurant. The service we received lived up to that rating. Our waiter was very attentive. We went during restaurant week. They offered their regular menu and restaurant week menu. I got the 2 course restaurant week offerings and a dessert from the regular menu. The saffron strozzapreti (lamb with pasta) and mushroom galette was very tasty. My dessert, the blood orange creamsicle, was yummy! The portions were small and I left hungry even after filling up on the bread

My wife & I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Menton. Everything was wonderful. We ordered off the ala carte menu and enjoyed every bite of every dish. As many other reviewers have noted, the service was outstanding -- the whole staff seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a perfect dining experience. Of special note -- my wife can only drink a few sips of wine at a time so we never order full bottles and must choose from the usually poor stepchild of the wine list, the by-the-glass wine menu; but the wines by the glass were superb.at Menton! All in all, it was truly a five star experience.

This place is meant to be an indulgence and it definitely was in terms of food and pricing. The atmosphere is intimate and quiet. Dressing up is part of the fun. Make a reservation and enjoy a scrumptious chef's tasting. A lot of extras were added to our meal and it made our group feel special. The food was very seafood based and highlighted the ingredients very well.

Very nice place. We were in the back room that has a large window into the kitchen. Good performance by the kitchen staff. Most of the dishes are good, but not all of them. It is hard to please everyone when you make so many small plates.

Easily one of my favourite restaurants. The chef’s table experience is unparalleled...you must try it to understand!! Menton’s selection of wines is very unique. You will find wines that are exclusively found at this restaurant. Additionally they have a selection of rare vintages and small grower champagnes that cannot be found elsewhere in Boston. They change their menu seasonally but the food is always delicious. Their twelve course meal is incredible. The servings are small but satisfying. You will leave feeling very full despite how small the servings may seem!

Food was good but not great. The first 2 courses were amazing but it went slowly downhill from there. The “donut” and foie gras tasted like a donut shop donut with foie gras. The tasting menu was overpriced for what it was. Allegedly one of the best restaurants in Boston...they need to up their game.

I went here for Mother's Day. We had the tasting menu with wine pairings. In my opinion the prices were very reasonable, especially looking through their EXTENSIVE wine menu (its more like a book, a large book). A person in my group does not like fish (one of the courses) and they were happy to alter the dish to accommodate. We also had a request to alter the cook on a course of meat (it was too rare for this individual), again with a smile they accommodated our request. Wait for it, because then at the last course I was not a fan of the desert. It just wasn't for my taste buds. AGAIN, they were great in resolving my request. All in all it was one of the best experiences I've had in a restaurant, if not the best.

Excellent service presentation and food quality. Seaport area is great for being easy to find garage for parking. Stop by for a meal before or after your flight from Logan is perfect. Reservation recommended and cannot wait to come back to try the testing menu.

I was scrolling through Seated, and Menton caught my attention. This restaurant has truly unparalleled service. The staff are consummate professionals that make the dining experience enjoyable. We had the elements tasting menu, which required making six courses with different dishes for each of us. That's quite a challenge, but the dishes were delicious and I look forward to coming back to Menton again very soon.

Met up with a friend for dinner, I’m rating this place 4/5 stars. Lovely arctic char; mille feuille was so dense I think my breakfast protein bar was better; very biased wine selection but I was forced to go out of my comfort zone and discovered that white burgundy (not pictured) is actually pretty good

The dinner itself was very boring, due to the fact I was dining by myself and the servers aren't very interactive with you. My overall experience though was very good. The staff was very attentive and very honest about the menu. I don't particularly find their "Chef's Whim" (a.k.a. chef's tasting menu), outrageously delicious. However, on the flip side of that, some items were absolutely scrumptious (Foie Gras Brulee). I'll definitely go back again to try their a la carte menu, just because I have a better sense of what the chef(s) can do, after trying the tasting menu. (I apologize for the horrible pictures, camera started to die).

Menton was exceptionally good. But for the price I feel it should have been better. That's not to say that it wasn't better than most restaurants in Boston. It is outstanding but when I give reviews for restaurant I always consider overall value. Unfortunately I didn't feel Menton was a good enough value to warrant five stars.

I love Barbara Lynch's drink and sportello and I go often. Menton did nothing for me. At this price range it needs to be inspired. It was a decent meal I would be happy to have at a fraction of the price. Service was good but sadly no reason to come back here again. Will try No 9 park next.

Absolutely one of the best French- Italian influenced restaurants in Boston and maybe anywhere in the US. Food is stunning with a wonder fixed menu that gives you a great sample of what they offer. They have an extensive wine list to complement the meal. There is also a wine pairing option on the fixed menu.

The complementary bread was warm and came with a light flavored soft butter. In addition, the free starter, razor clam, was cooked perfectly. I don't ordered razor clam dishes in western style food restaurants since the shells and sand are very hard to clean. However, the razor clam here only came with the mellow meat part and the sour taste increased my appetite.

This place delivers, chef's testing menu with wine tasting, it was a neat religious experience to sit and enjoy the meal. Everything was fantastic, most memorable were the Bay Scallop Crudo, Torchon of Foie Gras, and the Duck Breast. All were great, those just stood out. Wine pairing were spot on as were cocktails. Staff was supper accommodating and attentive. Can't recommend enough

I was part of a party of 12. We ordered the Chef's Whim. At more than $300 per person it is so worth the price. A 10 course meal with excellent wines, Scotch, Coffee, cheeses. The team working here brings more than an A game. Treat yourself if you can, it is something to be experienced...

This place is a class act French restaurant. The food is just perfectly prepared. First, we were served with starter soup that was splendid but I don't know how to describe.Than we ordered Foie Gras followed with main dish Haddock and Prime steak...Fabulously arranged and served.Enjoyment for all senses! The Dark chocolate desert is a culinary artistry in its own:) I am not an expert but I think this is truly the highest level of French cousin one can get in Boston proper. The entries is classy and soooooo French, Oh yeah, the guests were dressed properly without flip flops and sun glasses and there was no obnoxious and pretentious laugh ..I am not aware of dress code but seams that everyone observed proper night attire.NICE and classy. Staff was exceptionally courteous and attentive. FIVE stars without hesitation!
