Great bar close to Fenway...1200 steps to be exact!
One of those bars I always find myself going back to. Friendly staff good beers and great food. Fun spot to dive into to escape Copley madness
Very cool old world irish pub, and some cool history too.
Texan visiting Boston. This was fun spot to hang out to watch a game or their Comedy nights on Monday. It was a set of like 8 comics doing 10 min skits. Some were terrible but some were very good. Food was decent, and service wasn’t bad. Would visit again. No cover so it’s like free entertainment for the price of buying a drink and I tipped my waiter well for keeping his table a while. Kinda divey bar but cool place where it seems locals would hang at.
Fun local pub with a lot of history. Unique and worth a visit if you are a baseball fan.
Of the many bars along this street, this one seemed to have the most logical arrangements of seating and space. We were able to seat a group of 6 people easily. Our service was a little slow, but the food quality was decent. We had the pretzel poppers and I ordered a chicken sandwich during their brunch hours (from 10 to 3pm), and they have a few other breakfast items included breakfast tacos. The chicken breast was oddly sized but cooked well. They have interesting and off the wall items on the menu like a bloody Mary with a buffalo chicken tender in it, or a burger topped with an egg and french toast as the bread, dubbed the "hangover sandwich". Overall nice ambience, good varied menu, but the service could use some work.
Fun Boston atmosphere very good food and drinks.
Went for the afc championship, atmosphere was wild!
Nice sports bar. Delicious pretzel poppers.
Always have great service, food, drinks, and selection when visiting McGreevys. Perfect atmosphere on any given day. Me and The wifes favorite watering hole in Boston
No vegetarian, vegan options outside of salad. Get up to the times folks. No gluten free options either outside of salad or french fries. Beer is good though.
One of many great pubs in the greater Fenway orbit.
On Thursday’s they have live music from 5pm to 8pm. The guy is unbelievable. I stayed there the full three hours. The food is fantastic and the prices are very good especially for the area. Will be coming back next Thursday!!
Great place to watch a Bruins game!
Prices were high for the drinks, atmosphere was mediocre at best.
Food was ok, somewhat bland. Service was pretty good but it just seems like another generic hangout. Loud 2000s pop/rock just doesn't serve the venue well. I left after the second Blink 182 song. Was expecting more from the self-proclaimed home of the Dropkick Murphys
Super chill bar. Awesome winter whiskey cocktail and free comedy show. I enjoy the fact the music is not too loud, finally found a bar where I can TALK to my friends!
First time to Boston, I had no idea clam chowder was this good. Service was great plus they know how to pour a Guinness (less than an inch head). Will def go again.
I was in Boston for St Patrick's day 2019 to see Dropkick Murphys at the HOB so naturally I had to stop on here for drinks. What an awesome place!!!! I'm sure it was considerably more crowded than usual (being St Paddys day) but service was still on point. Food was good, drinks were better and the atmosphere was great. Great music great people and soooo much memorabilia. You could walk around for a skid hour checking out pictures and memorabilia on the walls. Definitely coming back next time in in Boston.
Great atmosphere for the Stanley Cup Finals, the locals and fans are very friendly, and the staff are very engaged in the crowd.
Great bar in a great city
What an awesome place for food and drink at the oldest sports bar in America
Good selection, cool decor
Service took forever as the 2 bartenders "chatted" for a while. Nothing stood out to me, just another bar in Boston.
Great collection of baseball and dropkick murphy's memorabilia
They have ice cold magners. Nuff sed
Hands-down favorite sportsbar in all of Boston
Food was nice. Decent beer list. Great location! The room is pretty nice. Avoid sitting in the back when people are playing the video game that entails shooting plastic guns. Gets a little bit loud. Other than that the place was fun.
Came here for a big soccer match during the day, and it did not disappoint! Even in the afternoon it drew a good crowd compared to the other places on the block. Good beer selection and fine prices! Was a great place to catch a match and I look forward to watching more here in the future.
The pub looks nice, with a bar area at the entrance and a dinning room just after it. I had two beers there, so I can't give an accurate feedback. In the bar, tables and chairs are made of wood, and in the dinning room you can find more comfortable seats. They don't have so many beers, but as an Irish bar they have Irish beers and other local beers. We entered the place and we seated, then a member of the staff came and gave the menu in order to choose the drinks and the food. My friends tried some spicy chicken, they said it was good but spicy and the two pints of beers I had were good too. In the bar there are a lot of TV screens with sports, but the noise level was good.
Home run on the food and the beer. ⚾️ Fun baseball history and laid back atmosphere sports bar atmosphere! Would definitely recommend for anyone!
The lobster mac was fabulous. The otters we're fabulous. Service was great. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fun and welcoming. The menu was huge and diverse. I would not hesitate to visit this location again.
My favorite Boston bar. Dropkick Murphy's and Ken Casey might have brought me in the first time, but excellent drinks and great bar food kept me coming back. It's close to the Copley and tons of travelers hotels, so it's a great place to start a night. Or end a night. Or catch a game. Whatever. I straight love this place. Come here if you're shipping up to Boston. Pictured here: Maple White Russian, Sangria, bar nachos with beer cheese
Came here to watch a playoff Bruins game and have some drinks and it was great! Atmosphere was nice, and there were cool glass cabinets with Boston sports memorabilia. There are 2 bars which is useful since it gets crowded, and service was quick and friendly. All the TVs were showing the Bruins game and they had the commentating on the loud speakers so everyone could hear the game too which was appreciated!
Food and atmosphere were fantastic
Go to sports bar in Boston. OU fans headquarters for Sooner games.
The comedy show is where it's at!
Burger was perfect Lexi made my day!!!
Large sports bar across two floors. Good selection of beers and the table service was fast and efficient even when totally packed.
Went to trivia here - had a great time. Really chill. The chicken strips are fantastic. The service is not very good. But a wonderful atmosphere for people looking to just chill at a bar!
An all around great bar. Home to all the Michigan fans of Boston. Some great food, not too pricey. A decent selection of beers. Overall would highly recommend for sports.
A wonderful to watch a comedy show. Weekend plans. Even better on Tuesday is completely free
This place has some attitude! In a good way.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere!
Lovely bar staff in a dive-y establishment. Food looked decent, draft options limited but good. Had world cup soccer on all the TV's, but two of the three nearest me were intermittent with color. Would def go back for environment and staff, choose seating carefully.
I can highly recommend the Aloha Burger and the local favorite of the soft pretzel poppers. Great meal and service all around!
Easy to find location. Building is next to a fire department and supposedly was a police station years ago. Very business after Red Sox game. Obviously a stopping point for before or after a game. Food was mediocre. It is probably best known for having a few drinks. If you order blackened chicken on a salad be aware that it is cajun spice. All to many restaurants don't know the difference between blackened and cajun. Either way the chicken was not good. I'd stick to drinking here.
Great atmosphere!! Excellent service!! Bartender Joe was awesome!!
Atmosphere is good, drink selection is decent, food is pretty bad. Had the poutine (if you could even call it that) and it was literally the worst I’ve ever eaten. Girlfriend’s panini was soggy and Mac & cheese lacked flavor. Stop to grab a drink and catch a game, but eat elsewhere.
The beer was cold and frosty, and was lots of fun during a Pat's game
This is a great place to watch any sports, but especially Notre Dame football games!
Would give 0 stars if I could. Relatively empty, multiple empty tables, took more than 10 minutes to even order drinks (just a bud light) and then were ignored for the next 30 minutes while we tried to order food- we had menus so it was clear we were waiting to order. Waitress was more interested in talking with her friends in the back than working. Had to go the bartender to run our check since we hadn’t seen waitress in 25+ minutes, and when we complained she wasn’t concerned and gave it to the waitress who took another 5 minutes to run it. Would never return and would advise against it for anyone who doesn’t have an hour to wait to order simple, typical bar food.
Nice place but the staff was kinda on another planet but food was good and i looked pass the slow service once we had a couple pints in us
Awesome place.
Hell yeah!! Love this place!!
Love the camaraderie and food!
A yearly tradition to venture in for a perfectly poured Pint (or two). Great staff, Awesome atmosphere and more Baseball history then you can imagine. A must see while in town.
Great bar! A definite stop if you're in Boston.
Great atmosphere, good service, friendly people! Definitely try the fish n chips!
Great bar food. Nachos were insane
Great pub, lovely staff. Miss the jukebox though
Loved every minute of it!
Looks like this pub has some decent history. Lots of nostalgic pictures of players. Lots of tvs showing live games . Was struggling to find some soccer but they happened to show it alongside other sports. Fries are crispy and tap beer cheap and nice. Service fairly good.
Good old sports pub. Food was good. Service was friendly. Wish I had gone on Sunday, $1 oysters all day! Appreciated that the volume on music was low enough where you could have an actual conversation without shouting.
Great space to catch a game! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and with three separate bars serving a variety of local taps, you can't go wrong stopping in for a quick drink. It's in the heart of the Prudential Center area, so it can get a little crowded around Happy Hour, but with rare exceptions, you shouldn't have trouble finding a table here. Big fan of the live music Thursdays!
Great place to catch the game. Friendly service and good food
Great atmosphere, history, and collection of memorabilia. Friendly staff. Not far ("1200 steps") from Fenway Park. Nuf Ced.
I love this place, the atmosphere, the drinks, the Staff. One of the top bars in Boston.
Good atmosphere, decent food.
Food here was decent. If you're looking for pub fare, this is the place for you. Not bad as a quick lunch option. I'd say I've had better pub food, but this isn't too shabby. There are lots of options in this area, so plenty to choose from if this isn't the place for you.
Loved the fried pickle chips and Mac and cheese. Went to watch a Celtics game one afternoon and it wasn't too busy, still a couple of tables open. Good place for a game and good bar food
Love this place!! Consistently good service. Classic Boston pub atmosphere with Red Sox memorabilia everywhere. They have trivia every Wednesday night at 6:30 too. They have about 10 or 12 beers on tap and plenty of bottled ones too. Typical pub fare menu.
The decor is awesome , it was kid friendly, the food was amazing and in a great location. Great spot. I had a good time reading the history of red Sox on the walls. Downstairs definitely has a great vibe as well. The mac & cheese is amazing
Oldest sports bar. Nuf Sed.
I adore this bar.... I go there every week. Great place to watch a game and Iesha is the bomb.
Great little Location on the north side of Boston, The Shepherds Pie was fantastic and reasonably priced. Service staff was very friendly and efficient. Don't miss out when in Boston.
The atmosphere is great. It's a nice sports bar in a great location if you're parking at the Pru on your way to Fenway. The service is slow. Be sure to check your receipt for extra items you never ordered or received. We had extra drinks added on.
Super cool local stop
I really love the fish n cheeps and the atmosphere of the bar.
Great atmosphere. Excellent staff. Delicious food. We had so much fun here. Great music too.
Service was slow and the drinks were aweful. Stick to the beer list they have
Great place; Free comedy on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8p
Decent bar food, good staff, went for the comedy show which was fun.
Good food, good prices, great atmosphere
A lot Differential beers to taste
Great bar to watch sports with plenty of TV’s all over the place. Staff is wicked friendly and food tastes great. Highly recommend!
Great place to watch some football! Excellent bartenders and great prices
Beautifull Irish pub. Incredible staff. Very good guinness. What else can you expect?? Greetings from Barcelona.
Great atmosphere, food, drink selection and service. Ended up there multiple nights in a row.
Great spot to catch a game
Nice bar, good drinks and food!
We waited 15 minutes at a table - no wait staff came. Had to order beers from the bar. Finished the beers, still nobody. Stopped a waitress to ask for menus (which she brought to the table). And yet, another 10 minutes after that and nobody came to take our order. The bar wasn't that busy. Needless to say, we left. Worst service I have ever had in Boston. It's too bad, because I really wanted to like the place. But after that experience I seriously doubt I'll be going back. 2nd visit (friends invited us there) was better; much better service, pretty good food, and
Good food good service even when they're busy
Awesome service and great atmosphere.
Great free comedy show on Monday and Tuesday
Boston sports bar, my fave on the block Always a good time with great service while watching the game.
I've only been there once, but you better believe I'll be back.
Bad food and bad music
Worst service I have ever experienced not very busy and took 30 minutes before service and then over 1 hour for food which came out wrong it was soup and a sandwich ruben, how do u screw that up.....then over 30 minutes to correct the order....wont be back and would never recommend
A cool Boston bar. I visit my friend in Boston once or twice a year and we usually start Saturday morning here. This last time I got the hangover breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. Can't speak much for the beer selection since I usually drink Guinness on tap. The waitresses are always nice and nice to look at. BTW the last time I was here, there was a women's 5k that started and ended outside. I'm not sure of the theme but all participants were wearing black puma sports bras and tight little yoga shorts...:-). Which was better than the 5k I saw there in December with dudes in Santa outfits and bannana hammocks.
Best place before a game
Happening place! Fun friendly. Two stories - good music, friendly staff
I really liked it. Specials were a really good deal. I'll be back.
Great experience. A small mishap with the food, but the staff recovered well. Both the chicken sandwich and whitefish plate (cod?) are recommended.
Great wiskey... very crowded
Finding a good pint of guinness in back bay/downtown Boston is like finding a needle in a stack of awful tasting needles but by christ does McGreeveys have a good pint. Great bar with a lively atmosphere, awesome staff and good food.
Food and service is great. I had a delicious Greek salad and one of the house recommend cocktails (see picture). Service was kind, fast and helpful (e.g. The waitress helped to solve the access to the WiFi as my iPhone was not connecting as it should). I recommend it! Ps: I had launch and it went perfect. I don't how it is in the evening)
We were visiting Boston and stopped in for a meal before heading to Maine. We were seated quickly, placed our order almost immediately (3 appetizers) and then waited for our food for 50 minutes (which was never served) before we had to walk out so we wouldn’t miss our bus. Our water glasses were never refilled and the waitress didn’t bother to stop by our table to check on us- we had to walk through the entire pub to find her to check the status of our food. Extremely disappointing service. We spoke with the manager before we walked out and she was completely unconcerned or apologetic about the service and the fact that we never received our food. Also, the music was too loud for a lunch time crowd. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Stopped in for a few drinks before our holiday party. Very good atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks. Half off apps was a plus. I would recommend this spot especially for the drinks. Perfectly poured Guiness!
Great food and staff at McGreevys! I love the Baked Mac and cheese with Fried chicken. Plenty of TVs to watch whatever game you want. Reminds me of a bar I love back in OK! Definitely recommend!
Great beer selection!
Nice place, great beer selection!
Had high Hopes but they let me down. My burger wasnt even cooked how I asked and my wife's Shepard's pie was overloaded with onion
Cool place, especially as America's oldest sports bar. Great comedy weekly downstairs on Monday and Tuesday. Nice staff.
Loved the place, but was so busy it took a while to get my meal
Very cool kid friendly bar and grill
Best irish pub in boston. Go sox!!
It's a nice little hang out spot to grab a few drinks. They don't have the best selection of beer, however. Not in a bad area. Didn't try the food though. It's a nifty little place though. Not too pricey, although we just had beers really.
Lively and fun atmosphere. Even at 4:00 in the afternoon. Great staff, cool t-shirts to purchase; and great food! Reasonable prices too. Parking is the tricky thing. Cool fact: a member of the Irish band Dropkick Murphy's owns this place.
Came here on the spur of the moment after looking for a free comedy show. This place did not disappoint. Great food and even greater comedy. Really enjoyed it!
Normally I try to go to new places only once whenever I travel. I wound up going to McGreevy's three times over this weekend.
Had a quick visit just to say I was there. Seems like a friendly place
Music was way too loud. Fills up with jack*sses
A wonderful experience. Enjoy a bit of history at America's Girst Sports Bar. MCgreevy's offers specials just about every day that is sure to peak your interest. It was so nice I had to go twice (and a third time before I leave). Tuesdays from 4-7 be sure to swing by for their 5$ pub burger. Dare I say one of the best burgers I've had downtown, it WILL hit the spot. Featuring a friendly cast of characters with unique stories of their own, this spot hosts a variety of sports history of the Boston Red Sox. While you're there try out the Rose Tattoo, not my usual drink, but on a warm day it was wicked refreshing. Only thing this pub needs is certification pour for Guinness. 5 stars, Ben says Check it Out.
Drinks were on point! They had a great selection of Irish Whiskeys too!
Great service and food. Reasonably priced
Because.... nuf-ced
didnt enjoy brunch, food was bleh, and the bloody mary wasnt great either. Would go back just for beers though.
Best bar in Boston! Great music.
Owned by the dropkick Murphy’s. Fun Irish pub. Small downstairs. Very reasonable drink prices (for Boston).
Soccer World Cup semi-final @ McGreevy's. Awesome! Great food. Great drinks. Great service. Great atmosphere! Fantastic!!!!!!
It's a three because of nostalgia. I was sitting at a table prior to moving to the bar because the bar seats were full. I closed out with my server without issue. I moved to the bar ame I asked for beer. I got the drink and then closed out. I never asked to close and gave no reason to get closed out. I get it your bartender is working her last shift at your bar. But new people to your staff, not the bar, need to be treated a tad better.
One the best place in Boston
The comedy show was awesome! Went to the one on a Tuesday Better than paid ones I've been too for sure.
Well. Not really a sports bar. Went to watch Baltimore game. It’s a bar with tv. They had the two nationally televised games. That’s all. Next door is a “sports bar”
Great pub food. Wings are incredible.
Really good service! Food is good. Good selection of beer and wine and whiskey.
Great place, great atmosphere and service
When I have been there it was quite empty and still we were unattended by the staff Still a good atmosphere though
Good fried pickles and burgers. Loved the history and sooooo many cool framed photos of ball players and stadiums. Think there was over 300 photos in the place. Worth a visit.
Never go! Walked there and wouldn’t let me in. I explained to them that I have a “disability” due to an accident (internal decapitation) and effected my voice due to paralyzed vocal cord. I had not been drinking, was told I had already “had enough”....
Great experience and the fish and chips were delicious. Flakey and tender. The live music made it a little hard to talk.
Great for what it is. After work pub spot for me. Food specials every night too. Trivia night was fun.
Went to comedy night on Tuesday. Highly highly recommend this - a few of the comedians were hit or miss but the majority were hilarious. Also as we went on a Tuesday they have an incredible $5 burger and fries deal! Very very friendly on the wallet
A bit cold in there but otherwise a great experience. A lot of baseball pics on wall and great food
Decent food and liked that we had view to outside as it was a beautiful day!
Food was good, service is great! Manager was super helpful. Actually surprised how much was drinks are more than NYC prices. Draft was the only thing cheap.
