Very nice food. No vampires or blood sucking ghosts.

James Green

I love The Mayflower Sushi!

Drew Quinton

Standard, inexpensive chinese food and sushi. Nothing flashy.

Bandy Chin

Great food and service. Get the salt and pepper shrimp. Dont like shrimp, get salt and pepper wings. They are really good. If you like noodles, I recommend the crispy pan fried noodles with beef. The wonton soup and beef teriyaki are great starters.

Kevin O. might be Autistic or have some sort of sensory issues. Otherwise, maybe he has a personal issue with the staff. But this place is AMAZING. One of the best Chinese food restaurants I've ever been to in my entire life. No doubt about it. Eddie, the owner, is a very hard working man. He is very friendly. Very respectful. I've always enjoyed myself every time I went to the Mayflower. The staff are just as nice and I've given $20 tips for Take Out! The food and service is just THAT GOOD! I LOVE the sushi. Second to none unless you want to go to Boston where you would probably find dishes of similar quality unless you go somewhere exotic and very high priced. On that note, the pricing is good. The place is clean. They even offer live entertainment most nights. They just go above and beyond. I love the Mayflower. --- I don't know whats wrong with this Kevin O character. But I hope he gets help for his condition. In fact, I don't think people who have such difficulty with communication and who struggle with social interactions such as obsessive/compulsive interests, and repetitive behaviors should be taken seriously when they write these disparaging reviews. We all know their standards are unstable. And that means these reviews become a place for obscure and unknown people who think they're Food Critics to assert themselves in a way that can really damage someone's business. Kevin O reminds me of the South Park episode: "You're Not Yelping". Gotta love the smugly entitled...

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had in years. HORRIBLE service. I didn't get my food until my friend was done with hers and several other tables, who got their after us, got their food. I thought, at first, oh it's ok, because she's new, and nice. But, actually no, she was really rude. I ended up having to talk to the manager because this woman was so frazzled and the other server kept bringing us food from other tables. They took one meal off but, she never even brought me my soup and salad, which I didn't realize until afterward because I was so distracted by all the mishaps. I have no idea why this place has such good reviews, someone must be getting paid to write them. The ambiance, oh wait there was none, turns out it's a dive bar posing as a sushi restaurant. Super loud, they burnt incense while we were eating, and playing music over the sound of the tv and the constant routine of various beeps they have to alert them to do different things, like answer the door, or pick up an order of food. The food itself was the only remotely decent thing about this place but really, we live in an area where there is plenty of quality seafood and sushi, good service matters. This place doesn't have it. I HIGHLY suggest going elsewhere. I will NEVER go back here or recommend this. What a total waste of time and money.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. Food is a bit pricier than others but the quality is there to support that. Sushi is fantastic and not shy on the fish. I'm also a really big fan of the Crab Rangoon. It's super crispy on the outside and a dream on the inside. Curry dishes are also favorites and consistently delicious. Sitting at the bar is a must as the bar staff are amazing (Grace is our favorite) and delightful and the regulars chatty and friendly. It's a great spot and great atmosphere.

I went with my family and had a really nice time! I really like their food and the service was wonderful!

Local haunt for MaiTai's, Sushi and your favorite Chinese dishes. Sushi is fresh and we'll balanced. Chinese dishes are solid with good crunch and not too sweet. Pad Thai was light and tasty, a bit light on sauce. Our bartender Grace was amazing and made the entire evening wonderful. Can be busy so order ahead if going for take out.

Good Chinese food , and strong drinks , I have not tried the sushi yet but last I was in there they sushi chef was very busy putting out all the orders , so it would seem it's very well liked

Tuesdays is jazz night, not to be missed

The food used to be good here. But it's taken a nose dive over the last 2-3 years. Ask to see their latest health inspection report before ordering. They've been cited for code violations.

Perfect for low key decent food and drink...and kids welcome without anyone caring. Food and drink aren't always perfect but usually good and for the price you can't go wrong. So you get what you expect.

Paisley Evans

Overpriced and rude. Don’t honor their policies. Try to nickel and dime you. If a meal includes soup they won’t let you have the soup for pick up but don’t deduct it from the meal price. Avocado salad was the worst ever. NO CRAB MEAT. Like two smal slivers. And they put it on top of some type of noodle so it looks like more than it is, not even half an avocado used, not worth more than one dollar. Waste of money. Disappointed because reviews were good. If you’re in Salem I recommend trying the avocado salad at MINZU SUSHI this is what it’s meant to be like and tastes so much better!!! Also they have a lunch special if you’re a frequent visitor. It said dining only on the card but they marked that part out with sharpie, but then said no that’s right it’s dining only. And like I said first, very very rude.

Here’s some information for the negative reviews- May is the owners wife’s name... and she’s beautiful like a flower... that’s the name. The restaurant had issues years ago, due to minor things... they are clean,,, the food is fresh and i feel that if you can’t call a company to discuss your issues, you shouldn’t attack small business owners, because you don’t “like” something. These people have families and it’s just rude to be so negative. The owner Eddie is always there, and with any business you may have a new waitress, bartender or cook, if you can’t address it with the owner, keep your thoughts to yourself. Be kind. I eat there about 1-2 x a week. The sushi is my favorite. I wouldn’t eat there if “that” wasn’t fresh... trust me ..

If you're looking for late night food this is the place to go. Once you're there may as well get a night cap, if you're looking for one of their better stronger drinks go for the Dirty Glove, an absolute fan favorite. If you're in Ipswich this is the place you'd want to go for sushi, they have a nice wide variety of fresh fish for their rolls.

Deborah Henderson

Great sushi and awesome chicken with gs.

Lunch is a great value and its quiet at the times I go (a bit after lunch rush). Classic Chinese place... Nothing special in terms of ambiance, but much better than a hole in the wall. Good cold beer bottles and clean bar.

The Mayflower is an interesting and very culturally confused place. The name itself can make people think of the landing of the ship the Mayflower and imply it has something to do with American history. It's actually an Asian food restaurant that often features live jazz for entertainment. The food is good, the staff is very efficient and polite.

Matt Baldassarri

Food is really good as is the all you can eat sushi lunch/dinner, but the service is terrible. We've had the same rude waitress twice and she really makes us feel unwelcome. Might not return due to service and ambiance. They need to better separate the dining room from the bar.

The food here is pretty good. Our old spot was Good Taste also in Ipswich but I think the food here is better.

This is my local Chinese restaurant. I’ve ordered take-out maybe 50 times and eaten in several times. It’s primarily a locals restaurant and bar as you will almost always find people at the bar playing Keno. The prices are reasonable (maybe slightly high), but the food is solid and good if not exceptional. I’m a regular fan of combo meal L17 (pork fried rice, boneless ribs, chicken fingers, and a spring roll) and Sushi Combo Roll A which comes with 3 maki rolls, seaweed salad, and a ginger-dressed garden salad. The owner is nice and friendly, and is happy to chat if not busy. There are a couple of TVs with sports usually on, and a medium sized dine-in area that has decent decor. (It is NOT a picture menu, plastic chair, tile-floor take-out Chinese restaurant. That’s the other place.) Overall a decent place to dine, have a beer, watch a game, and play Keno.
