This Restaurant belongs to the category of Italian restaurant.
Old classic authentic delicious Italian restaurant in the heart of Little Italy Boston. You won't finish your meal because the servings are huge. Be ready to take home a box. Service was outstanding and the prices were really good. Thanks for having us!
If I told you that I almost cried when they told me they WEREn't out of lasagna? Yes, it is that good. When I lived in Boston, it was the place I always took visitors or went for special occasions. After a several year distance, I hoped it would live up to my memories. It did. The bread is GREAT - the portions are HUGE - my server was a delight!
such a wonder place to eat. Must go again next time we're in Boston.
A+...Went for lunch.Chicken Parm & Calimari..Delicious & plenty to take home..great prices & staff
Absolutely FABULOUS authentic Italian food at a truly unbelievable price ($7.95 for the daily special). Dont miss this place- a winner!!!
Great food a great staff as well Inexpensive prices
Fantastic, portion sizes are huge. Food is fresh and atmosphere is quaint and cozy. Can't wait to go back.
This is by far the best Italian restaurant in Boston! The food, the service, the portions, and the prices are all incredible! Every time my family and I visit Boston we go to this restaurant. It is so delicious that we will drive 3 hours just to eat here. Please give it a try, you won't regret it!
Food OK, they rush you all the way. One meal delivered after 6 others had finished. Waitress said she would take off the bill, but did not! Said manager did not approve. Waitress kept telling us it was not her fault? I would avoid this place and find one of the good North End restaurants.
Visited on a busy college graduation afternoon so had to wait about an hour. The menu is extensive and includes many gluten-free options!! I had the chicken and broccoli Alfredo which was delicious. The waitress was great and very friendly to our party of 6 people. The portions are huge and you will definitely have leftovers to take home. Great food and the prices are even better!
Fantastic food! The olive bread and olive oil was amazing and the Tuscan Sangria was lit!
Wonderful homemade pasta and large portions. Family friendly, kids and adults enjoyed their meals. Stopped in and was seated immeadiately for lunch. When we left there was a line down the sidewalk. Definitely a popular spot, highly recommended.
Fantastic food, ambiance, and service! We were seated by the fireplace on a rainy gray day. They weren't quite open when we arrived, but they invited us in to sit by the fire and have a glass of wine while we waited. We ate there twice in 3 days, and there are a multitude of Italian restaurants to choose from in Boston. We will be back!
Honestly better than the Italian food I had in Italy.
Worth the wait!! Good service, starting with the gentlemen taking names, wait staff, & busboys. Portions are huge, worth the money. You will go home with leftovers. Recommend with 5stars from Michigan.
Beautiful old world architecture. Awesome food with huge portions at great prices.
we LOVED this place! the food was excellent! home made pasta cooked to perfection! portions so huge ..the leftovers served as an entire second meal. service was also very good.
The best Italian we found on our trip through New England. The olive bread and bruschetta was simply amazing! Definitely have to come back next time we're in Boston.
Best italian food in the north end. Not your typical fancy high brow italian, but classic homemade italian grandmother made fresh plates served family style. Go with friends, family or on a date,- great wine selections. Absolutely love this place.
Great food, very large portions so be careful how much you order.
Cramped. Heineken on tap, in an italian. Accommodating, but un knowledgeable waiter. Huge portions. Robust, fresh food.
The food was very good, but the owners attitude sucked! He yelled at everyone who wanted to use the washroom, demanding that they order first before entering the restrooms. We had, in fact, ordered, but how do you prove that? If he is so damned protective of his washroom, he should hand out tickets after you have ordered, so you do not get verbally assaulted. I will never go back; there are plenty of other Italian restaurants in the North End. Go to a different one.
We always enjoy coming here. The food, service, and menu selections are excellent and fairly priced.
Great food. Huge portions. My favorite restaurant in the North End.
Had the toasted ravioli, chicken parm, chicken piccata, cannoli, and a cappuccino; it was all great and good service. I would definitely recommend for a good value, and portion sizes are perfect. The house bread is good too!
Never fail to get full with the appetizers combo. Very yummy and professional
You want some great Italian food and a great experience. Go now. Seriously......Do it.
Absolutely incredible! The food was great the portions were huge. We will return on our next visit to Boston.
Food was incredibly delicious. The staff was amazing. The ONLY complaint I have is the portion size. The portions are HUGE. The food is incredible but if you want to share with someone (because most people cannot complete the GIANT plate of food given), then you will be required to follow the policy. Per the restaurant policy, you are required to buy at least one appetizer/entree per person. A fee of $7+ will be added to each person who does not meet the minimum $$.
If you don’t mind eating early, show up before 5 p.m., and there is no wait. We had a marvelous experience: friendly and family-feeling service, good wine, full bar, diverse and ample portions (share unless you want left-overs!), and the spumoni gelato on a graham-cracker crust is a fantastic end to a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.
This was one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to. The portion sizes were humongous and is decently priced. Lots of options for vegetarians. We ordered the fried ravioli appetizer - that was so tasty. It came with a marinara dipping sauce. We also got the garlic bread which again, was delicious. The marinara sauce was so robust and flavourful. We enjoyed every dish we ordered. The place is pretty big, so they have enough seating. We did not reserve our table for 4, but were seated in 15 mins. Will definitely be coming back to try other things on the menu.
I liked the location and the food. I didn't much care for the waiter telling us that we each had to order one plate as that was their policy. We had a group of five, three of which were teenage girls, and we wanted to share about three plates since the portions were so huge and we couldn't take it home with us. Still, the food was pretty good.
Decent Italian food. Very crowded. Wait staff was not particularly attentive.
Excellent. Great house made pasta. Chicken caccitore was better than a home cooked family meal!
Every year I come up to Boston for a convention and we make sure to stop in to La Famiglia's at least once. We love this place! Huge servings for a great price and everything tastes amazing! This has become part of our annual tradition and we always look forward to getting to eat here. If you are looking for some classic Italian food, great atmosphere and friendly staff then look no further!
Fantastic food, generous portions, reasonably priced, and great service! The homemade pasta was incredible. Would strongly recommend eating here. Loved the ravioli & the meatballs
Food is great but be prepared to wait - it's worth it!
You HAVE to eat here. Absolutely phenomenal. We truly felt like we were stepping into someone's home. But that someone was an AMAZING Italian chef! Auntie was the best waitress ever. I felt like I was in my grandmother's house and she was taking care of me. We ate Chicken Parm with homemade fettuccine pasta and Lasagna. This was a meal to die for in a wonderful setting. You won't be disappointed.
We all loved our choices! Delicious food and wonderful staff.
Such an ideal place for power lunches. The hostess and bartender were friendly and attentive. I ordered the Ricotta Gnocchi which is a full vegetarian dish. I got it with a side of roasted chicken which was well cooked. I recommend this place to anyone that wants a creative meal that is both fast and not a wallet breaker!
Old fashioned Roman style cooking with fresh ingredients. The gluten free menu has great selection and they know how to cook gluten free pasta well. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable to my gluten free questions and they really make you feel welcomed
Went early on a Sunday with no waiting at all. The service was excellent. The portions are huge and at a great price. My wife and I shared an appetizer and entree and we could not finish everything. Would definitely recommend it!
This food is some of the best Italian I've ever had! The portions are massive so come hungry. The people treated me like family. I literally felt like I was part of an Italian family here. Whether you live in New England or you're just visiting this place is a MUST!
Unfortunately I wasn't a big fan of the food here. The service was great, and so was the atmosphere, but the food wasn't exceptional. If I had one word to describe it, it would be mediocre. The sauce was mediocre, my pasta was mediocre, and the dessert was mediocre. Certainly not an awful place, but if you really want the finest Italian food in the North End, choose somewhere else.
Great food great price and service
Be aware they make you get a dish for every person or pay $7.50 per person for nothing! It was lunch and 6 adults, 2 kids. Wanted just 3 entrees to share had to pay and get some we couldnt eat.
Wonderful food! Make sure you've starved yourself before going, the portions are HUGE. (I had enough leftovers for two meals.) Only thing holding me back from giving 5 stars is that it was a *very* long wait to get in: not surprising, given the quality of food, but they told us it would be about a 30 minute wait and it was more like an hour and 15 minutes.
Best Italian food I've had in my life. Olive bread was perfect, garlic bread was perfect, pasta was perfect, and the chicken I got was great too. Portions are a little ridiculous though, by the time I was stuffed it looked like I had barely even touched my meal... I'd recommend splitting a plate with a partner or be ready to take a box home if you don't have a gigantic appetite.
What a gem of a restaurant in the North End. The weekday lunch specials are one of the best restaurant deals in Boston. Huge portions - I'd recommend sharing or taking the leftovers home for a couple extra meals! Nice atmosphere and staff.
Make a reservation or prepare to wait an hour. (Worth every minute!) If you have to wait, be sure to SIGN IN with the concierge! HUGE portions that can easily be shared. Chicken parmesan was the best I have ever had. Staff was very attentive and polite. Made you feel like family! Highly recommend.
Absolutely phenomenal, great flavor and very pleasant and helpful staff. We've been to other Italian restaurants in the North end and this one is by far our favorite. I got the tricolor tortellini with vodka sauce, broccoli and shrimp which i loved. I cannot believe people on here are taking away stars due to too much food. The portions are fantastic, id much rather get too much food for my money than barely any! Stop whining and enjoy your leftovers.
Tasty meals but more importantly, the unique restaurant designs. The quotes on the wall of the restaurant are quite interesting. Anyone who loves quotes would appreciate the thought that went into the design of this space!
Awesome Italian restaurant. Service was amazing, and food was huge portions as well and very tasty
Hands down the best Italian restaurant and food I've ever had. Writing this review is making my mouth water remembering how good the pasta was. Their calamari was also the best I've ever had so I highly recommend it for an appetizer. And it all kept well for leftovers later. I wish I had a bigger stomach to have tried more off the menu.
Portions are huge so beat to share!! Pasta is delicious, we had fettuccine and lasagna and it was all so very good. Not a long wait and service was good.
The service here is excellent. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The food it's very good but I did have slightly higher expectations considering how busy it is. I had the lobster ravioli and it was really good but not quite as elevated as what I had in another nearby restaurant. Really, really good but not mind blowing.
Delicious Italian ! Simple. My only issue and this is purely personal- the portions are quite large. I suggest splitting with your group, i.e. don't plan to finish an entree by yourself. Ha Absolutely try at least one dish with their homemade pasta or gnocchi. The staff is very friendly and sweet. I really enjoyed the visit.
We had lunch today at La Famiglia Giorgio's. It was a cold day and the room was cosy and inviting. Had pizza and pasta which were delicious. You will not leave here hungry! Really nice wine and the staff are so warm and friendly. Next time we are in Boston we will be going back. Thanks guys. :)
Not a bad little place. Gets very busy. Great food at a reasonable price
My husband has a large family and LaFamiglia accomodated us on the second floor. My mother and I are from the North End, loved the food. Not a disappointment!
Abundance of food. Great place for a good lunch at a very reasonable price. Good staff
Delicious. Lunch sampler was huge and an incredible bargain. Cozy ambience with roaring fireplace. Staff were friendly and immediately brought out warm bread and their own cheese and spice mix with olive oil.
Good food and good service! Get there early and be prepared to put your name on a waiting list. It's worth it, it's one of the better places in the North End.
Delicious food. Friendly service. Gigantic portions!
Portions are huge. Food was ok. Service was not good for how busy it was (1/2 full).
So many gluten free options and the gf pasta was amazing!
Good food, I think they downsized the portion a little bit. Waitress was kinda disoriented. Had to ask 3 time for lemon in my water and then was brouth dryed up lemon slices.
It was alright. Nothing that special. Got Bolognese with their house made noodles. Sauce was pretty dry.
Fabulous! Large group of 32...soooo much wonderful food served. Very gracious staff. Sent us home w/ "left-overs". Incredible hospitality
Amazing. Delicious. Huge portions at great prices. Sangria was delicious too. Very good service. Definitely a must try if you are in the North End!
Wonderful atmosphere, excellent food with huge portions, low prices... I don't know how they do it! And great music playing too!!! We still talk about our experience!
Really large menu, very customizable with sauces and pastas, lots of appetizers, pastas, pizzas, etc. The service was great... They seated us quickly despite a 45 min wait and immediately served bread with olive oil. Staff was helpful is choosing options. We got the eggplant parm, pesto gnocchi, and for Diavlo tortellini. The homemade pasta was an extra 3 but worth it imo. Portion sizes were large and ended up having to box everything. Id recommend the Diavlo sauce since it was spicy and very tasty. I think pesto was alright and eggplant parm was great. Would highly recommend going here for taste, portions and price
My family and I recently went to Boston to check out Northeastern because my oldest daughter may attend this fall. It was such a treat to come here. There was line going out the door, but it was so worth the wait. I had the lasagna and I feel like it may have been the best tasting dinner I have ever had! It was almost too good. I'll be back!!
If you want excellent authentic Italian food this is the place. Friendly staff. Very reasonable prices. Varieties of items on the menu.
What a great place to have a hearty, fun filled dinner , where everyone sings and has a down to earth time, enjoyed the eggplant , calamari, Caesar salad, and wait staff.
I would rate the food as average to below average. The atmosphere was cozy and nice, and the staff was friendly. I would probably give this 4 stars if it weren't for the price of the food. For that price, I would have expected something significantly better. My dish was drowning in sauce, completely submerging the bottom layer of gnocchi. Also, calling it sauce is somewhat generous. It was a mostly bland mix of oil and sweet syrup (which I strongly suspect was maple syrup). The dish was extremely sweet. For context, I ordered veal marsala... Huge portions though.
Great food great portions great staff reasonable price and a huge wine selection.
This was worth all the money. The servings where huge and it was so good. We would definitely go back!
Huge selection that is sure to please everyone. Food was amazing and the portions are very very generous, plan in taking some back home if you order your own plate. We saw several people sharing their order and there was plenty for both. Our server Noelle was outstanding!! She made several great recommendations on our main course and then our drink selection. Even offering to make another drink if we didn’t like the first one. Would definitely go back! Do yourself a favor and stop in hungry.
This is the best restaurant in Boston, I recommend it to all who see this post it was worth the wait as the price. Everything that was served at the table was excellent, and the service was awesome. Thank you auntie!!! I definitely give five stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Delicious food!!!!! Great service - Chris was an especially amazing waiter. We ordered a plain cheese pizza (amazing), calamari fried, salad, calzones, gnocchi and mussels. Everything was delicious - would recommend!
Great choice for a night in the North End. Wonderful service and a menu full of the traditional old world favorites.
Perfect place to have a family style Italian meal. The atmosphere and service are both great. The food was excellent! We very much enjoyed our meal here. The entree portions are huge and very sharable.
We wanted authentic Italian food in Littly Italy( we’re from Texas) , and the previous reviews did not disappoint. The Lobster Ravioli with pink vodka was filling, and packed with immense flavor. There is seating on the bottom and second floor. We went on a Thursday evening, and it didn’t take long for us to be seated. Estimated $15-20 per meal, however, it is large portions.
I went with three other people and ordered the chicken parmesan. It was very good, but my dish came out about 20 minutes after everyone else's dish. By the time I got mine they were all finished so I had a few bites so I could try it fresh and had to take the rest to go so they didn't have to wait for just me. I'm not sure why it took so long for my plate to arrive but I wasn't able to fully enjoy it at the restaurant.
Got two homemade pasta (calabrese and pesto) and was *really* disappointed. The pasta was way overcooked, the sauce was watery, too salty and didn't have much taste. For the price ($17 per dish), this is kind of outrageous. Quantities are very large though, and service was great.
Every time we go to Boston we strive to get over here and have dinner. My mother and her friends found this restaurant many years ago and we have loved it ever since. The portion sizes are always big and delicious. A little on the pricey side but worth it for what you get. I have never had a bad experience here and will continue to frequent this restaurant.
Great selection of delicious homemade pastas with large portions at reasonable prices!
So amazing!!! Homemade pasta, large portions even for lunch. The vodka sauce was so yummy!!!!
Great portions and awesome food
Fantastic food, ginormous portions (split an entree and appetizer with my boyfriend and still took some home), not as expensive as the rest of North End. Arrive early to avoid the line! We got there at 4:30ish on a Saturday evening and had no line at all, but when we left there was a line of like 30 people.
One of the best Italian restaurants in the north end! Fast service, very friendly staff and really good prices. Try the spinach lasagna, eggplant parmigiana and the beer steamed mussels.
We had a delicious meal here. The menu has a great variety. We were seated in less than 5 minutes and our server Mike was an absolute sweetheart. I ordered the bolognese manicotti and it was so tasty and the portions are huge! Definitely will keep this place in mind for our next visit!
If you want to experience great Italian food, this place is the real deal. The moment you walk through the door you are transported to a better time and place. Where love and tradition are the secret ingredient that just makes everything better. The good was outstanding. I had the mussels with linguine in garlic and oil and they were the best mussels I have ever had. If you haven't been there, go, you won't regret it.
Quaint, authentic, homey, delicious...just a few words to describe the lovely LFG restaurant. The smells alone make you hungry upon entering their doors. Very gracious and affordable lunch specials...just try not to fill up on bread. A gem in the Italian section of Boston. Highly recommend
The food, what can I say to explain how amazing it was. I guess my niece expressed it best when she tried the Chicken and Broccoli Fettuccini with Alfredo sauce she said what who is talking I can't see anyone because I'M IN HEAVEN RIGHT NOW! Everything we had there was delicious I had the pink vodka sauce on Fusilli which was OUTSTANDING! My husband picked our 3rd entree he chose a La Faiglia special that had tortellini with Pesto sauce and Man was it good. The surprise of the day for me was the Pumpkin Ravioli dish which I was not gonna try because I do not like pumpkin however my girls insisted I try at least a mushroom in the sauce that was on it and OH MY I have never tasted anything like that before it was so OUTSTANDING I was sad I waited until the dish was gone to try it, it is a MUST TRY!
Great service. It was a worthwhile wait. Please know that there is an extra plate fee should you decide to share a dish and every person at the table including children must order something from the menu
Best, most comforting homestyle Italian food. Staff is great, very warm and friendly. Great drinks too. Had a lovely dinner with my husband. We will definitely be back.
Bad. The worst plates of pasta my wife and I can remember being served. Rubbery shrimp drowned in sauce. Garlic and oil pasta with zero flavor. Was recommended to us, but we were completely disappointed.
Very attentive and friendly service. Had calamari over pasta and it was cooked perfectly. Dishes had a choice of two dried pastas, or for $3 you could request one of many fresh pastas to go with your meal. Portion sizes were plentiful, and it was nice having sliced Italian bread before the meal, with seasoned olive oil and parmesan to dip into
The food was so good. Service was great. Food was really reasonably priced. The eggplant parm was best ever.
Good sized portions and tasty food. Service was generally good, but could be absent at times. Mixed drinks were decent.
Great food and an even better staff. Can't go wrong here.
Soo good. This place feels like homemade Italian food. Friendly staff. We had from the homemade pasta, definitely worth to try.
Loved the gluten free options! My chicken Marsala was fantastic. Kids loved their pizza. Hubs enjoyed his chicken parm too! Huge portions!
Went on a Tuesday evening at around 7:15. All of our food came out on time up until we ordered entrees. It took around an hour for our food to come out and it was super average. I ordered the carbonara pasta which was super greasy. Waited another long time for our waitress to come back with our check. Left at around 9:00. Wouldn't recommend to a friend.
Cool place with good service, very fairly priced with huge portion sizes. We ordered eggplant parmigiana which was tasty but unfortunately served kind of lukewarm. Also ordered house made gnocchi which by itself was good; the pesto was ok but very heavy on the oil and low on the basil. Overall a good experience, the food could just use some minor improvements.
One of the larger restaurants in the North end, with a casual and family friendly atmosphere. Menu offers variety and delivers portions that result in a lot of take home boxes. Wait staff we had was excellent, some of whom had been there for at least a few years yet were still young and cheery. Maybe not best (not an intimate venue) first date night option, but better than many of the other "good date night" review spots.
