Some of the best BBQ in Boston area, and south and east end of state. My favorites: brisket, ribs, corn bread. Pulled chicken is moist too. Economical compared to sit down table service places. Clearly a labor of love for the owner. Worth any drive.

So, we all know New England isn't a hot bed for BBQ, but Kinfolks just might make you forget that. In a little strip mall, next to a bank, you probably don't expect much. Joke's on you then cause this place is pretty freaking awesome. We got pulled pork & chicken to test both and we were more than pleased. It is dang good. The sauces in the little to go tubs made me want to lick the little go tubs, that mustard sauce especially. The hush puppies to the mac & cheese, the sides stand out. Those crunchy fries, yum. Can't wait to go back!

Never heard of this place before but someone recommended it to me. This is the best BBQ I've had in Massachusetts. I got the chopped chicken with bbq sauce, Mac and cheese, and yams. Every single thing had their own unique flavor. Even the chicken without the sauce was flavorful. Cornbread very fresh. The line wasn't too bad on a Thursday night during dinner. The wait wasn't that long either. Not even 10 minutes? It'd be worth extra time anyways. I tried my friends pulled pork and it was like a very Smokey flavor. Delicious. Staff was nice. Heard that they're usually ALWAYS busy which is a good sign since you're always getting the freshest batch.

Kinfolks has been 5 star bbq since my first visit to their food truck on rt 44. New location. Food is still amazing. Collard greens are on hold at the moment because Sylvester buys his collards from Stop & Shop. He won't cross the picket line. Thumbs up Sylvester for your support. These people started out in raynham cooking right out in the street.i always saw them out there setting up their smoker .hard working people.i am pleased to see them in a restaurant.they always had lines at their food trucks.i believe if you want honest to goodness barbeque then give them a try.they use fresh meat cooked slowly. Maybe I went here with my expectations too high, but with all the raving reviews I expected the food to be higher quality. The pulled pork was okay but nothing special. The fried chicken was extremely unsatisfying, almost flavorless and kind of dry. The cole slaw is what I would expect from a supermarket pre-packaged. And the macaroni and cheese was just gross, the macaroni was overcooked and soggy and the cheese had a bad flavor and texture to it. Only reason im giving 2 stars is because the corn bread and french fries were delicious (but that's not what I spend 40$ for).

For me this place is always awesome!! Today was pulled chicken BBQ sandwich. So much meat I had to finish it using a fork! I tried it without sauce & it was tender, juicy and full of flavor. I then added the sweet BBQ sauce, just enough to accent the chicken, and it was awesome! Give them a try!

I have been here about 10 times. Beef Bristket is phenomenal! Cornbread is top of the line. Very clean. Employees are friendly and knowledgeable. Best BBQ in MA ,sauce comes on the side as it should!! Great smoky flavor large portion and great price for brisket. $16.50 Double meat Double Mac N Cheese. Cant go wrong

This place would be a problem if I lived closer. Ended up grabbing the brisket w/ Mac n cheese and potato salad. I'd post a picture but ate it all before I thought about it. Great BBQ. Had the spicy sauce on the brisket and it actually had a little bite to it. The potato salad was delicious too. Was a little hesitant because most are drowned in mayo but theirs was well balanced. Next time I'm in the area I'm definitely going back.

Best lunch in Taunton. Everything is hand done and so succulent. I've had everywhere in the city and no matter what as soon as kinfolk is mentioned I'm ready for it. It's worth going broke to taste. Trust their sauces, trust me.

I went here after my friend raved about this place. The brisket was dry , the sauces on the side made up for it The yams were great I don’t like overly sweet super saucy yams so they were perfect for me. The collard greens had no Taste to them whatsoever I expected some meat in it like smoked turkey or ham or something it was very bland. The Mac and cheese was ok my daughter who is a Mac and cheese fanatic and she wasn’t impressed at all. The mashed potatoes were good definitely had flavor. Cornbread was nice and moist but gritty almost tasted like it wasn’t mixed thoroughly. Honestly for $13 I expected more sides and not tiny little cups. All in all not impressed.

I got a 1/4 rack of ribs w/ the two sides of French fries and macaroni & cheese. The food itself was excellent but the quality of the restaurant was poor, the tables were dirty and the bathroom was not clean by any means. I recommend washing your hands before and after leaving the restaurant.

Wow. Updating my review now that they have a storefront instead of the food truck. Good is still fantastic but now there are places to sit. I count 7 tables plus some counter space at the front window. I ordered a pound of pulled pork and brisket to take home and was pleased that the sauce is optional. Sometimes the smoke is all you need.

This place is great. If you are in the area and are feeling hungry just stop here and grab a bite of some outstanding BBQ. The only issues I had was that the wings take 25 minutes to make so best call ahead. The other thing was they had a poor selection of drinks in the fridge and no water.

Love the food but man are the employees miserable. I went out with my father, and he was joking around being funny and the cashier just scowled at him and refused to smile or acknowledge him talking to her. And the rest of the employees just look like they don't want to be here. Not a friendly environment honestly. Food is pretty pricey too.

Got a pulled pork dinner and a brisket dinner to go... The pulled pork was good with a slathering of bbq sauce but the brisket dinner was almost entirely fat and gristle. disappointing.

I lived in Memphis most of my life so I know and love really good bbq. We've lived in Massachusetts for almost 3 years and while I've searched, this is the only place that comes close to really good bbq. The meat stands on its own and that's how you know. Bbq sauce and all the rest doesnt matter if the meat isn't done right. It's a 25 minute drive but I will be coming back often.

BEST PULLED PORK YOU WILL EVER EVER EVER HAVE. I WILL PUT MONEY DOWN ON THAT! Phenomal fries, nice and crispy, bomb mac and cheese. Good prices this place is a gem you can NOT go wrong with this place. Cashiers are also very friendly. Just driving by and getting a whiff of that smokey delicious smell will force you to pull in and grab a bite to eat.

Wow! I came by at 10:45 when I saw smoke while filling up my gas tank. I waited around and I was not disappointed! I loved the brisket, hot sauce, cornbread and beans. My coworker really liked the ribs as well. I will be going to the office just to come again! ( Which is 45 minutes away )

As always the place is a taste bud explosion. I really really appreciate the seafood Saturdays. I'd take a star away for running out so early on saturdays for seafood and just limiting it to 1 day a week but would need a 6th star becuz the food is no doubt 5 star flavor everytime.

In a word: wow! .. Discovered this little gem one winter years ago. Driving down Rte 44 at 5AM, i saw a heavy wind-driven plume of smoke and was ready to call 911 -- i would have if my windows were not down a smidge. OMG! BBQ! Weeks later i had the pleasure of meeting the man who is out there before dawn weathering all that Mother Nature throws at him -- Sylvester, great guy .. Very personable.. Before i tasted the food, i already admired his work ethic. Commitment such as Sylvester's is born only of an intense and pure passion, and his wonderful artful food is the fruit of his dedication. Great ribs, awesome, never-dry pulled pork, moist brisket with a really mouth-watering bark are my go-to favs. All 3 signature sauces are not particularly salty and serve to compliment not mask the smokey goodness. All sides are great as are portions. In particular, the collard greens and potato salad stand out among the folk i often dine with. Try it once and you'll surely become a regular. Enjoy.

Ordered the 2 meat special with ribs and cur chicken. I had no idea what cut chicken was but that's all they had available. Glad I tried it both were delicious. Definitely recommend getting both sauces!

Fried chicken (weekends only) was phenomenal and worth the wait while they fried it up fresh. Complimenting the ferry great were light hush puppies. Ribs were perfectly cooked and didn't need sauce... But the sauce was great. Rounded out with Mac and cheese and cornbread. Overall a very authentic and satisfying bbq. Already planning what we will get next visit.

Highly recommended!! Some of the best BBQ that Ive had. Sides are very good as well. Calling in on the phone can be a pain - There has been multiple times I have not been able to get through to them on the phone though they were open. Staff has always been nice during all of my visits.

Editing my review: they are definitely working out some kinks with the new location. Went in at noon on a Friday, ordered a pulled pork sandwich and waited 40 minutes. Had to remove 1 star for the wait time. Food was absolutely incredible, as always. Pulled pork was awesome, the roll was fresh and the fries are heavenly. Mac n’ cheese for a side was delicious.

Some of the best tasting food in the area. They were previously located in a food truck in the Raynham area, but recently opened this location. The food truck was known to me mostly for their really amazing smoked ribs. However, with a new location, I figured I would also try some new items. On this recent visit, I ordered the hush puppies and a bucket of fried chicken. I'm not regretting my decision to stray from those great ribs at all. The fried chicken was juicy while maintaining that well-seasoned and super crispy batter on the outside. The hush puppies....I probably could have eaten a bucket of those as well, they were that good. Perfectly cooked, crunchy on the outside, warm and bready on the inside. I thought about docking a star only because it's tough to get a table in this small place and the wait for take out was about 40 minutes at 3pm on a Saturday. But in all honesty, I can't blame them for business being good and.... it's worth the wait.
