Here you will see the feddbacks of real people like you who consume the services of Josephs Two (Restaurant) in the area close to the state of Massachusetts.
Now the business gets a score of 4.4 out of 5 and this score was based on 448 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is good, and it's based on a very large number of scores, so we can say that the assessment is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to leave their opinion when they are pleased with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to give reviews when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant is included in the category of American restaurant.
Great food and reasonable prices. The service has been good as well. A great place to stop and get a quick meal.
They have a little bit of everything great food. Breakfast all day while they're open . pizza if you like pizza.. fish chicken and many other things on the menu breakfast and lunch open till 3 in the afternoon
Food was great and came out super fast! The waitress was timely too.
Great breakfast selection
Love the food
Efficiency is excellent, very polite. The restaurant is clean in appearance.
Food was very tasty (low-cal turkey hash & 2 eggs, and Belgian waffle & strawberries), and moderately priced (<$10 per dish). Service quick and nice, there was no wait for seating and we waited 5-7 minutes for the food. They have freshly squeezed o.j. which is a plus and a rare sight. The downside are the restrooms, to which the access is through the kitchen (really through the kitchen) and the manager's office and some supply / refrigeration room. I'd recommend coming here for traditional american diner food.
Buttermilk pancakes were really great. Ordered a short stack with bananas and chocolate chips mixed in. Delicious and more than enough. Brought a friend who had never been here and he loved it.
So many menu choices, all of which are delicious. Go for the Cranberry Pancakes and if you’re extra hungry get the Cape Codder
There's a wait to get seated with and out the door. The service is friendly and the food is good. Great place for breakfast and coffee. Homestyle food and a cozy atmosphere. Good portion sizes if your hungry, if you dont eat a lot you might need a To go box or split it with a friend.
Great food !!
Wonderful place for breakfast! Friendly staff and a great way to start your day!
Good
Great diner food and friendly staff, but very long wait especially on weekends around brunch time. We got there around 9:30am and there was a line out the door (looked to be about an hour wait at least). They have a good selection of breakfast foods with large portions. Personally, however, as good as the food is, it's not worth the hour+ wait when there's plenty of other places in the area. I would recommend going there early or having a small party (2 people) to make sure you can get a table quicker.
Awesome classic-style diner, with very good breakfast up and down the menu. Server wasn't the friendliest, but they were also very prompt and attentive. Very limited parking, by the way. There was a short wait during peak breakfast hours, but nothing too bad. Very few items more than $9. The best thing about Josephs is the amazing prices, considering the high quality of the dishes we had.
I came here with a positive outlook because of the good reviews but I was disappointed. I got a cheeseburger for 9.79 and expected an average decent meal, but the meat tasted like it was frozen from Market basket and it was really dry. For a 10 dollar burger I would expect the meat to be somewhat delicious but finishing this burger was even a hard process. Im giving it 1 star because at one point the workers opened the door and cigarette smell was coming inside, which made it even harder to finish my food.
This diner is small, but very well stocked. The breakfast options are definitely the best bang for your buck around. Service is quick, most likely due to the size of the restaurant, and the food is spot on. I'll be back here when time and space permits.
The service here is abysmal and the quality of the food is just decent. Would not come back. I’ve been here 45 minutes and haven’t got my food or even a refill of water. In fact, people who came after got their food before me
Little things add up to an exceptional diner! Cinnamon-sugar dipped crust on the French toast, pecan-smoked shoulder bacon for the eggs benedict, well-herbed potatoes. Friendly speedy service ties it all together in a wondeful experience. The tudor revival façade is a bit dated but perhaps adds to the charm. Solid five stars.
Good prices good food, limited parking
This is a nice spot for breakfast! The food was good and the service was fast! Only complaints are, the home fries where undercooked and the omelet wasn’t as big as I am use to.
The breakfast here is delicious, staff is great and very friendly. Great New England style food
Great price for awesome lunch. Very friendly hostess.
Great old school breakfast!
We were visiting from Texas... And I thought they served hefty plates back home. The price was good and the plates were filled with food. We had the Bostonian and the Hungryman.... Very delicious. Our server was very friendly as well...
Excellent service, excellent food. The French toast was perfect.
Small family style restaurant with good breakfasts and ample portions. Chef came out a couple times on last visit to give people update on wait and check how their meals were. Speaking of the wait, if you come on a weekend morning or early afternoon expect to wait in line a while (they don't take reservations or keep a list of names to be seated). They're also so busy you won't get a lot of service but I've never gone without a drink refill. Might not be the best choice for larger groups.
Best breakfast sandwhiches!
Service was good waitress was very nice food was good
Really good Greek omelette. A nice little diner
Quality diner, line moves quickly
I've been going there once a week for a year. Family owned. Great food. Lots of choices.
Amazing breakfast place with large servings and good prices!
This is truly American breakfast chow !!! Opens early ... I ain't having breakfast at the hotel anymore ... good job J2
Oh my goodness!! This place is amazing! They are well known for their breakfast. However, we were there for the dinner time. Everything was delicious! It was all homemade. We had their soup, pot roast, and thanksgiving sandwich. You will not be disappointed!! When we come back next time this is a must stop to eat! Thank you for a awesome dinner!! Can't wait to try the breakfast!
I have ben going there for over 25 years an stell do the people that work ther are all good people
Cute local diner experience. Food was tasty, service was quick.
The food is always great here. Today was Dutch Apple Pancakes!
Awesome local breakfast/brunch place. They serve breakfast all day but they also have regular lunch items like sandwiches, pastas, soups, etc. I came for brunch on a Friday morning and got the biscuits and gravy, which comes with 3 biscuits, 2 eggs (any way you want them), and 2 breakfast sausages. The gravy was delicious and it was a super filling but not too heavy meal. Our server was super friendly and the service was great!
Very nice and kind staff. Check the early bird menu when you visit before 9am, which is cheaper compare to the same dish when you order from the main menu book. The early bird menu is hanging on a small leaflet, put on the table, not on the book. I didn't know in my first visit. But the price of the beverage is almost half price of the early bird main dish. So you end up paying almost the same price when ordering early breakfast menu, compare to another breakfast place. You should try the freshly squeezed orange. You will love it. The taste of the main dish is standard.
This place is fantastic: the servers are nice, the portions generous, and the food delicious. They're also allergy conscious - when I mentioned that I had a nut allergy, the chef came out to tell me that the meal I ordered (French toast with fresh apple crisp on top) might not be suitable, and offered to make alterations to the meal. Very satisfied with my experience!
Great divey diner. Just know what your going to.
Local breakfast staple. Good food, the wait is always worth it.
Can't figure it....but this place is the perfect diner-esque breakfast. Generous portions that all taste better than you think they should. Been a favorite for 15 years. Go for the Bananas Supreme or The Bostonian.
Softest and best croissants I've ever had. And their Benedicts! ❤️
It's a nice little place with good food and friendly folks. Has a nice local family feel to it. Good sized portions, too. Glad I came across it.
Typical dinner, nothing special but nothing wrong either.
Best breakfast within driving distance of Boston!
Went here for the first time this morning. Saw that it had good reviews so I went in expecting to at least like this place. It's a small mom/pop shop and lives up to the expectations of the reviews. Food was excellent, generous portions. Can't speak to the service since it was a monday morning after the breakfast crowd had come and gone and was pretty empty, but I have no complaints about the service it was great, just can't say how good would be when jammed is all...
Love this place for breakfast. It is small so be prepared to wait on weekends. Try the banana supreme.
My favorite breakfast place, simple dinner with great food.
Delicious Breakfast and nice service
Food was decent. Coffee tasted like someone dropped cigarette ashes in it. Good earlybird breakfast specials though.
Good service.
Omlets dont have homefries.. and are very thin/cheap not satisfying 2 omlets 2 coffees 30$ with tip
Always great food and service!
Although I agree with everyone about the laughably outdated interior, I didn't come here for atmosphere, and I don't care to finance any remodel with higher prices either. I had breakfast, and it was excellent. Good prices, and good menu variety. If you want atmosphere, go somewhere else. If you want good food, come here. The only downside is the limited parking situation. Come during off hours and you can get around that.
It’s OK. Typical breakfast place. Nothing fancy. No complaints.
By far one of the best breakfast stops we could’ve ever hoped for while moving our daughter back to college. The food was great and the staff amazing. We’d highly recommend Joseph’s Two for breakfast.
The best pancakes in the area. Great service. This place is a local favorite. Be sure to get there early as the lines can be long and the parking is tight. Do not park in McDonald's! Best to park on Main by the Post office if there are no spaces in front of the restaurant. It is worth it though
I LOVED my breakfast. Super creative and yummy menu. I wish I lived closer, I would be in here all the time.
A borderline perfect classic diner experience. The food is amazing and served in great abundance (the hungry man special is not to be taken lightly). The servers are friendly (with the exception of one, but her gruffness kind of fits the motif). Don't let the wait scare you, it's worth it.
Despite the amount of people there, seated quickly, served quickly and the food was amazing..
Good breakfast, but not the best
Good early bird prices on food!
Nice place, friendly staff. Pretty good breakfast.
If you’re in the mood for breakfast Josephs two is the place to go!
It was a bit of a wait for a table (25 minutes). But, well worth it. Food was great!
Fun experience and really good food. Does not take credit/debit cards, though, and no visible restrooms.
Waited 20 min just to get a water.
Food is great. There is sometimes a wait, but usually not long if you avoid peak weekend hours.
It has great food at a decent price but has little parking. Good for the early morning.
Good breakfast. Tasty crab cakes.
Great breakfast place...nice waitresses.
Food is amazing, home fries are my favorite. But service is terrible!!! Even thou they have open tables, it takes them 10-15 minute to sit you. And waitresses are just walking by and talking behind the counter. To get a coffee refill is almost impossible. But they are quick on billing you. Thanx
Crowded not enough staff
The best in town fresh
Outstanding customer service! Great food, friendly staff, i never wait too long for a table or my food
Classic diner food. Almost always get the hungry man, because I'm terrible at making decisions. It's diner food, it's hard to mess up, but when it's right, it hits the spot so well, and I've never been served poorly. I wish the servers would ask me if I want the fresh squeezed OJ instead of regular, because I do, I just forget to say sometimes. Still well worth the wait to eat here.
As far as the food goes I would rate it a 4. I'm giving it a 3 because of the service speed. I would give it 3.5 if I could. The wait staff are just overworked. It's not their fault it's just too busy for the few servers for the number of seats they have. Once they take your order they are very quick getting the food out.
Generally a good experience with great food and good service. My wife's favorite breakfast place in Waltham. Update: Took away one star because recent quality wasn't what it used to be. (Raw uncooked potatoes mixed in with fries, Benedict way overcooked, etc), Will return the star if turns out to be a fluke and not a change in cooking staff.
Breakfast was good great selection great prices
The only reason I’m not giving this place 5 stars is because I’m a foodie and I actually tried the best breakfast in the whole world and it wasn’t from this place. The place I’m talking about is J & M Diner in Framingham MA and it’s more expensive but worth it. Besides that I think Joseph’s two is actually the best breakfast place in Waltham. It’s a small Diner with about 10 parking spots and about 20-25 tables if I had to guess. I arrived at about 9 AM on Friday and was seated rite away. My waitres was very nice. I ordered the Hungry man breakfast which only cost about $10 and you get two eggs, bacon, 2 sausages, hashbrowns, toast, cornbread, watermelon, and 3 pancakes. You can’t beat that price. The only reason why I’m saying J & M diner is better is because of the flavor. Don’t get me wrong my breakfast at Joseph’s Two was good. I loved the pancakes they were not dried at all. I will for sure be coming back those pancakes are to die for. While I was there I did noticed the place getting packed by 10:30 AM and did noticed some people had to wait to be seated.
Very disappointed this time. Definitely not usda prime. Fries are not ready
I've been there a couple of times. The food is good, but the service has big room of improvement. Often the waitresses prefers to chitchat with each other than bring you to a table no matter how empty the place is.
Good, hearty breakfast; fast, courteous service despite the full restaurant, with a line out the door. The only downside is *very* limited parking. Joseph's has a tiny lot, and street parking is limited. About your only option may be to park (illegally) at one of the adjacent/nearby businesses: McDonald's, CVS, or Hannaford market. But, of course, you risk getting towed if you do.
Good breakfast, but get there early to avoid the rush. Can have a long wait after 830. Also they will not seat you unless your full party is there.
Went in alone, waited a few minutes to be seated and felt ignored, since there was only one waitress. Got seated by her pointing to a table. Waited about 6 mins. Two guys came in got seated within 30 seconds. Waitress came with 3 menus, gave them two menus, first then I got mine. She asked for a drink order and I wanted coffee. It took a little bit longer since she was managing orders. Got my coffee and she took my order. Three eggs and two orders of crispy bacon. Waited about 7 minutes and saw 2 plates pass by me to the two men (Who ordered 2 minutes after me) get their order. The waitress passed by me again and I shrugged my shoulders and she said my order would be right up. After another 5 minutes, I put $2 on the table and left because I never got my order! That was the most heinous lack of customer service I have ever witnessed. I got there @ 7:13 and left @ 7:45 to get to my doctor's appt a 8.
Well I just exited this place with a full belly and big smile! The food is awesome, and super tasty. They serve you a good amount of food and to a good price! I had a full breakfast with juice coffee and dessert and only paid $26! That's incredible. The place has a warmth to it and it feels great. Servers are OK not bad but not amazing they were just okay :) they were not rude or anything but I would have love a bit more kindness! Other than that definitely recommend it and my self will be coming back a lot!
Awesome service great food
new favorite breakfast spot. Cozy with the best hot chocolate. Waitresses are nice, and great food.
Great food and lots of it at great prices. Friendly staff, relaxed feel.
The taste, the portions, the hospitality...WALLAH! We had an awesome experience.
Amazing. I LOVE diner food and I gotta say this may be the best diner I have ever been to. Food isn't ready, cleanly presented and fast for the quality. The service is fast too. This will be a staple for visitors and whenever we want our diner fix. Went for breakfast.
Food was great and our waitress was nice. It would be at least a 4 star if we didn't have one waitress who was super rude (buck tooth one). We were visiting from Houston and went up to merely tell the front we were 3 but this lady was super rude. Almost left but another waitress sat us down. Thank the Lord it wasn't the rude buck tooth one. The owners need to speak with her if the job is too hectic for her perhaps they need a new one. Initial impressions are everything!
This one stop I have to make with my family when in town visiting friends and family. Great food and atmosphere.
Great comfort food
Great service and great food
Delicious and wonderful service
A fantastic option for breakfast all day in Waltham, great pancakes!
Great food, staff was friendly. Would recommend.
Order off menu - crab cakes eggs Benny. Delicious!
Quintessential comfort food. Can be difficult to get into on weekend mornings.
I found the service courteous and my breakfast arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Like the menu. Ordered the Greek omelette & a short stack of buttermilk pancakes. The spinach in the omelette was fresh with nice Feta Cheese. Pancakes were delicious. Overall a good place for breakfast. The one disappointment was the coffee - they need to fix that, should be easy enough - a really good breakfast (5 stars) has to include that great cup of coffee.
Little on the expensive side but great food
Good food and good service!!
Convenient parking and great food!
Great place to be
Great food and service. Very nice place to eat in downtown Waltham.
Got a hangover ? Go here. Want plate loads of food for a good price ? Go here. Good service ? Go here.
Good food with a large number of menu options to keep everyone happy. Pancakes and homemade cornbread are great. The place is a bit small so be prepared to wait on the weekends. Service is also a bit slow and distracted on weekends, hard to get those coffee refills.
Great food at any time
This is _not_ a gourmet restaurant. This is American comfort food. If you go in knowing that, you'll be just fine and will actually enjoy this place. My family came here after some trendy restaurant we wanted to try ended up having a long wait. No wait at Joseph's. In fact, it was completely empty for dinner. I'm vegetarian, but two people in our party had the prime rib and said it was a bit tough. Apparently, the potatoes are good, though. Definitely the bread is great! It's warm. It's soft and crunchy... not spongey, not too hard to chew through (the crust just crumbles in your mouth). They also serve breakfast any time. I had the toasted ravioli and two eggs (scrambled) with French fries instead of home fries. My meal was great! Tasty and fattening.
Good local breakfast with great strong coffee, very affordable
It used to be awesome! I dunno what happened to it. The food is not like it used to be. The chef I remember was a great cook but the last time i took my granddaughters, we were not happy with it.
One of those places for breakfast/brunch/lunch that only locals know about. Can be crowded at times, and parking is limited, especially weekends. Giant assortment of eggs, omelets, pancakes, etc. Don't miss the "Yankee Fries" always an extra. Lunch looks good with home made soups and great sandwiches, but I have never gotten beyond breakfast.
Food was great. Huge menu and plenty of options. The wait staff could have been better...they forgot to bring syrup for our meals and only refilled my coffee once. It was not crowded...they were just busy talking one another to provide strong service.
Took to long to get a plate of Chicken Alfredo, and a bowl of Corn Chowder, I do have to say best Corn Chowder ev-va.
Real home cooking and the waitress SARA was great!! Great CUSTOMER-CARE skills,,I STRONGLY RECCOMEND THIS RESTAURANT
Great place for breakfast! Corned beef hash was canned but still good. Other people's food was all homemade and great.
A classic, no-frills, low-cost breakfast place. You know it's good because there's a line on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The menu is everything you want and nothing you don't. I look forward to getting old and retiring so I can come to this place and read the paper with the other regulars on weekday mornings.
A very good Florentine Omelette and the homemade turkey hash was good as well. Excellent sour dough toast. Friendly and fast service. Four stars because the home fries - a crucial element in diner breakfasts - were undercooked and bland. Also, it looks like you have to go through the kitchen to use the bathroom (though I didn't go myself).
Very good menu,,, alot too choose from, clean, good staff, and of course great food
Great service. Great food. I always feel welcome here, even when they're busy.
Great food and good prices. Small place so there can be a wait.
I came here with a friend and a friend of a friend who had been here before. He said this place has great food and he wasn't kidding!! I had something sweet for breakfast and i don't regret it. I'll be back again soon :)
Food: 5 starts Everything was excellent. I tried some egg sandwiches, classic breakfast dishes, omelets, and coffee. Above average for a restaurant, and blows a diner out of the water. Somehow, they managed to make their wide variety of meals without it tasting mass produced or reheated. Their coffee was not watery and low acidity. French Toast’s flavors permeated the bread as opposed to sitting on top. Home fries were not crispy (my personal favorite) but the potato was cooked enough to retain flavor without overly drying out. The toast was beautifully buttered but not soggy. The presentation was fantastic, very surprising for a breakfast restaurant. Staff: 4 stars After three visits, each staff was kind, polite, and friendly. No order mistakes. The people who brought us to our table were sort of confusing, timid, and incredibly quiet. To me, that part is not weighted heavily but it was worth noting. Service: 3 stars The wait was longer than I would usually expect for a diner, however I could understand that is most likely tied to their freshly cultivated meals. The waiting room was highly unorganized, and the door which you waited by swung both ways which caused people to constantly move back and forth confused, and it let to grid lock by some tables. Overall, the building is rather small and I was surprised that it took around 7 minutes to clear a table, which is something you notice when you’re waiting in line for a while. This could have been a fluke based on the day, but it happened to a couple tables as I watched Final Thoughts: Would go again! And would recommend.
Went for 1st time after an appt. at the Children's Hospital Satellite location in Waltham and the food was delicious. They do an all day breakfast along with a brunch and dinner menu. They have fresh squeezed orange juice and lemonade. And a large variety of choices that I havnt seen at other places. It was family owned which made for an even more pleasant experience!
Great breakfast - worth the wait in line.
5 starts are not enough for this place. Food is amazing, big portions. A bit of the wait but for me it is a sign of good business, people want to eat at this place nowhere else. We went on Saturday in peak hours and still got good service and food came fast.
Great spot for brunch. Worth the wait for a table. Prices are reasonable and the food is excellent. Get the hungryman if you're feeling bold
Good food, very poor service
Pretty good with quick service. Flexible for large parties.
Excellent waffles and the coffee is super fresh. The I side is a bit small, and there is usually a line out the door, but the food and excellent service is worth the wait.
Great, fast, and cheap breakfast spot made for the neighborhood. You wont be getting any foo-foo, hipster BS here. Its for people who want the classics, and want it fresh.
Great, hearty breakfast. Food takes a bit to come out but is worth it.
Excellent breakfast with good portions sizes and prices.
Heard great things.. So I tried it.. Its was good nothing special.. Lil expensive..
I love the eggs florinteen. And its next to Harvey's office
Limited parking space, omelets and pancakes were fresh and yummy, they came in large portion reasonable price and friendly staff. Strange enough that you have to pass through the kitchen to reach bathrooms!
Had Great breakfast food came out quick , eggs were cooked perfectly and friendly waitress. Great little breakfast spot
This place definitely has the best breakfast in Waltham. Every time that I have ordered breakfast here, the food has been perfect. The food gets a full 5/5. It is usually very busy on weekends during breakfast, so if you don't want to wait a bit for a table, it would be best if you come early, as there are fewer seats here opposed to other local restaurants such as In A Pickle. When a server does take your order though, the food comes out decently quickly. The staff on duty are usually very kind and work like they care about their jobs. Very good! Service is excellent. On a side note, I would highly recommend the corned beef hash benedict to anyone who stops by here!
Too crowded inside. Food was mediocre. Our server was friendly though.
The food was amazing and the service was fast we got seated within 15 minutes of arriving on a Sunday morning. The menu has great choices and they are very flexible with modifications.
The lumberjack breakfast is the literal best option on the menu. The pancakes were delicious and so were the home fries. The sausage and bacon was cooked to perfection, and the eggs(scrambled) were delicious, and the wheat toast wasn't burnt. I was not let down when I ate here
Pretty good
Good
good prices
Delicious breakfast food with healthy portions. The French toast was big and delicious. Would have left five stars if we didn't get dripped on during a rainy morning.
Love this place. Great pancakes and omelettes
The food was delicious! It came out super fast too. They have a lot of selections on their menu
Breakfast. Perfect. Change nothing. Every kind of traditional breakfast you can imagine!
We tried so many breakfast places in different towns and states. Joseph's Two is fantastic. Everything tasted delicious. They really put their hearts and love into preparing the food. Thank you so much guys!
Great food and real nice employees
Great all day breakfast (benedicts are amazing) with generally friendly staff. Sometimes you have to make yourself heard to receive service quickly, but it is never intentional. Split pea soup classic and comforting.
Comfort food at it's best
Great food, but it took a while for our group of six to be seated, since they are set up mostly for smaller groups of 2-4.
Incredible biscuits and gravy!homefries with bacon and cheese
