I hadn’t realized the cafe was under new ownership. The new owners are so friendly and accomodating and they have flan and Tres leches!!! I could not be more excited :)

I had a nice sandwich. A little pricey unhelpful management. I think they've sold out

Our experience was terrible. There was barely any room inside because the tables were so close together and single people were using 4 person tables. The first man we met was very nice, I'm guessing the owner. He said if we had a problem with the pesky bees outside at the front porch tables then we can ask to be seated in the garden out back. A few minutes later we decided to ditch the bees and asked to move out back. Our waiter had no clue where he was taking us and what they had on their menu or what they had to drink. We kept it simple and asked for 2 orange juices. 5 minutes later, he came back with 2 sunny D's. (kids bottles of a sugary drink) As we started to look around, it felt like we were sitting next to a dumpster. Their was an ash tray and a very small table with 5 chairs or so around it. We sat there because it was the only table out there. it was literally in a parking lot behind the businesses under a tent. We saw no garden, the waiter seated us there and we continued to order. The food was pretty good except for the bagel we had, it looked good until we took a bite, it was hard as a rock and was never toasted. Had cream cheese on it, which was fine. But normally you toast a bagel if you are going to serve it with cream cheese already on it. Then Bees came out again, this time there were more and they were out back with us. Then flies attacked the bagel that we weren't going to eat anyway at that point. The waiter never came back to give us our check so we got the hell out of that place and decided to go inside and pay. We didn't complain about where we sat because we weren't coming back, so didn't see the point. A woman cashed us out and asked how everything was, we told her we got attacked again by bees and flies were eating our bagel. She had no sympathy for it. All I could imagine was someone else sitting where we did and complaining about everything. We are not picky people, we own our own restaurant and understand the struggle. But that was by far the worst experience we have ever had at any restaurant ever. I'm sure they're a popular place, but they need to train their younger waiters a little better. Poor kid didn't know his right from his left.

Very disappointed. We arrived around 8:30 am. There was only 1 person sitting at the counter who left as we arrived. At that time on a Sunday morning one would expect to see more people. That should have been a tell tale sign of what was to come. We should have left but we gave it a try. Awful, awful. I ordered a cheese omlet. I was charged $7.99 for a 2 egg omlet with homefries that were lukewarm which led me to think they may have been a day old. When the order came I was surprised that there was no toast. The inexperienced waitress got me some toast. When the bill came I was shocked that they added $1.50 to my bill for the toast. The coffee was awful and cost me $2.50. Total for a my inlet and bad experience $ 11.99 plus tax. Never again. My husband had pancakes which were ok. Neither of us drank the coffee. I forget what we were charged for the pancakes. Think twice before you visit Henndersons. I am not one to write reviews but this was bad. It took me 5 days to finally decide to share my experience but had to do it.

Great food, casual atmosphere, friendly staff. There are new owners who kept a lot of the original menu items and added a few new specials. Great breakfast spot.

I'm almost hesitant to write this for fear that our little secret slice of heaven will become more popular and hard to get into. However I just have to rave about the food. Having had several breakfasts here, I have to say that it is by far one of the best cafés on the North Shore. The homemade multi grain bread is amazing and their specials are truly just that… special!! My compliments to the chef… so much more than just a cook.

Pros: good coffee and usually good food Cons: uneven service & uneven food prep I've had v good breakfasts at Henderson's & it's a great place to run into for a coffee & muffin to go but my last visit was a disaster. They got my order wrong in two different ways plus chopped up the scrambled eggs so much I needed a spoon to eat them. What could those eggs have done to deserve such treatment? Maybe the cook was just having a bad day but that was a performance that should never be repeated. Server (I'd never seen before) seemed confused by the whole concept of breakfast. The regular waitresses are great. I may give them another chance after a while bc they've been so good in the past but if this is a sign of the times then I'll drive the extra distance to Stephy's in Beverly.
