Great food, nice surroundings
Was tempted to leave a bad review because there were long wait times. (It wasn’t even busy) but the steak frites ended up being some of the best steak I’ve ever had
My best friend took me here for my birthday dinner. The food was delicious, I got the roast chicken and it was very tender and cooked to perfection. Nice waitstaff and overall restaurant design. Great for a nice dinner with family and or friends and also for a romantic evening out.
Always a great meal and great service. Count me as a regular
Went here for valentine's day. Every was great. The hostess was impossibly nice. Service impecable. Escargot delicious. My kid destroyed his Mac N cheese. Steak and fries was tender, lean perfectly grilled and very flavorful. The mussels are fabulous. Washed all down with a great and very well priced bottle of merlot. Prices are very good and Isaac the manager is always, literally always there. Hand down the best restaurant and best value out of all the places in this area. I'll recommend this place to anyone in a heart beat.
I haven't had dinner here although I have dined at the Boston location and loved it. This location has dollar oysters at the bar until 6 so that drew me in. Good experience.
Good was better good although the portions were small, staff was very good and friendly
Amazing food and atmosphere. Prices are in line for what you get.
Generous space. Easy to talk at table. High ceilings and beautiful front glass, hip but reserved background music. Great food. Great service. Wonderful overall dining experience, bottom to top.
The ambience is sophisticated yet warm, the staff are attentive and charming. The French onion soup is devine! (I didnt even like french onion soup before having this soup). Found myself waltzing by their outdoor fireplace on a cold monday night after dinner, feeling like i was on vacation somewhere romantic.
Liked a year ago. Now portions seem smaller. Special (octopus) was strange at best, server couldn’t explain dish that showed up - hamburger Bolognese? Service weak. Won’t return.
Brunch sucks. Not enough staff. We were seated near the bar and the bar keep was also our waiter...you know how that goes. The world smallest cup of coffee ( though good) I got the spinach and bre omelet...it was so greasy and oily it was repulsive. Didnt have a chance to tell my server because he was too busy making drinks for the whole restaurant. Just bad.
They make great drinks
Hostess was rude and told us there was a 45 minute wait, while the place wasn’t even half full.
French "-ish" bistro with reliable dishes and service.
Good food and service! I was here for a work event and it was really good food and the service was great. A bit more on the pricey side, so I probably wouldn't go here myself. Not sure if the food is worth the high price, but it was very good food! I had the steak which was fantastic, but few people I was with said their plates were really good, but maybe not worth the high price.
Great lunch spot to meet a friend- great atmosphere and good food.
The Waitress was very nice and accommodating. There was a super long wait for a seat due to national restaurant week. I know that others who came in after me got seated first. Should have a better system for people waiting.
Good but not outstanding. High price for value. Bacon plate, mouse, cocktails and cheeses were highlights.
One of my favorite restaurants. The food is delicious, well prepared, and interesting.
Mediocre food, and the service was kind of spotty. Messed up 4 of the 7 orders, and is really expensive for what you get.
It was so good! The staff was wonderful the food was beautiful, with so much flavor on one plate!
Nice interior and ambiance. Great for dates and special occasions. Good service. Amazing bathroom. Oh, and good food too.
Spot on! Waitress suggested the short rib hash and the special burger. Both we mouth watering and so good to saver. Topped off with the North Shore bloody Mary and a crisp mimosa. Great brunch
Got a reservation for my wife's birthday and a nice date out on Friday night. We got some nice seats outside and had excellent service. We ordered double prime rib which had several custom side options that we loved. Oysters, escargot, some great cocktails round out a good meal.
Overly expensive restaurant for the quality and sophistication of the food they serve. The $17 shrimp cocktail had literally 5 shrimps and the shrimp sauce was not even tasty. The mango cocktail did not have mango in it
Great outdoor bar
The appetizers were wonderfully delicious.
This restaurant is simply awful! The waiters were very grumpy and disagreeable. The food made my microwaveable mac and cheese look look like a gourmet meal. And, the place has about as much fung shui as a prison cell.
Nice cozy place. Good food, affordable price, great customer service
Great service! On short notice, they accommodated a group of 25 very well for a family brunch during a wedding weekend. They were a pleasure to work with!
Service was good, but for lunch at least, the menu feels limited. Some of the options will send you away stuffed, while others will feel more like an app. Mayonnaise is too present and heavy on the sandwiches (even on the Italian). The venue is nice though. I'll probably give this place another try.
Great main courses and cocktails. The outdoor seating is nice on a summer night.
Service was not speedy by any means. Staff seemed to not be sure what they should be doing. Food ok not top of my list for returning
Good food/drinks. Good service. Little pricey.
Food was excellent but service was NOT. Our table of 5 people was out of water for 15 minutes before our waiter even bothered to come back to the table to check in. Additionally, at the end of the meal, two in our party had quite a bit of leftovers and the waiter took the food as if he was going to wrap it for them, but didnt ask if we wanted boxes. When we got the check leftovers were nowhere to be found. I thought it was pretty much a given to ask if we wanted boxes before taking substantial amount of food away. If it weren't for the food/atmosphere, we wouldn't go back.
Amazing I totally suggest the steak frites and ceaser salad 10/10 the price is totally worth it and beautiful outdoor seating with shade
Very nice brunch for wedding shower. Food choices needed to have a few more regular items.
Paid $15 for the thinnest spread layer of avocado toast that was actually just soft bread and not actually toast. The flavor was great, the value was not.
Attentive service at the bar. Well shucked fresh dollar oysters everyday is a big plus.
Poor lunch experience Was a member of a party of four who dined here for lunch. Was fairly empty on Monday, yet it took us a while to be recognized, much less seated. Once seated, took a long time for our order to be taken. Two of our party ordered the tuna poke, when it eventually arrived, cucumber had been substituted for the avocado. I pointed this out to the server, who then proceeded to argue with me, stating that the tuna poke did not contain avocado. A quick review of the menu showed that yes, avocado was listed as a main ingredient, with no mention of cucumber. The hostess did remove the two tuna pokes from our bill. I understand that mistakes happen, and in the scheme of things, this was no big deal. However, I don't need the combative attitude over something that is easily proved. Poor service, coupled with average food, makes this restaurant a pass in my opinion.
Quite possibly one of the most astonishing meals ever. And not in a terribly good way. And it has nothing to do with the food, which was fine. So, why the negative review? Because the barman, who claims to be a veteran, is a rabid Trump supporter, and vocal (loudly so) in his views. Ignorance is bliss, and we should have remained in bliss had he not tried to force his opinion on Trump, Clinton, Congress, Veteran Affairs, Environment, and Quark, Strangeness and Charm (which he utterly lacks). A small suggestion: stop working out, go to a decent barber who has the courage to tell you that your ponytail looks absurd, and read a quality newspaper. Just a suggestion. A bientot...
Food was terrific and so was the service. Our waitress was able to describe one of the wines on the menu and provided a tasting glass. Great selection of wine and signature drinks. We got the roasted chicken and steak and both were excellent. Very hot right out of the kitchen. The only bummer was their desert - a berry bread pudding. It was obviously not freshly made - probably a few days old and very dry. Probably the worst bread pudding we’ve tasted. The server knew we weren’t keen to it and so she took it off the bill without us even asking. Will come again.
Out shopping with my girl and we were famished! Lucked out and got a table on a Saturday night within minutes! Food was delish and the service awesome!
Great food and service!
Unimpressive, food mediocre, drinks weak, better to spend your money other places. But, the staff was friendly!
Girls night out at Gaslight and we had a great time! Ray was out server and he 100% took care of us and made our rare night out a great, relaxing experience! The food was delicious, the drinks were flowing and Ray was gracious and tentative. Go to Gaslight, ask fro Ray and you will have a delightful evening!
Fantastic burger, one of the best I've had. Excellent clam chowder as well. Great service.
Relatively poor wait staff. Took a long time for food (after lunch hour, few diners). Had to go find waitress to get check. Other wait staff left tables uncleared for our entire meal. Always had a scowl: wanted to be anywhere but where she was! Good food was a plus!
Sat at bar and service was so bad that we left. Drink was empty be for she wven ask if we wanted more told her wanted our cks
Went for brunch. The short-rib hash was fantastic. Great bloody Mary!
To set the stage: I arrived on a Sunday for brunch. My group was four people who only ordered food and no alcohol. Every one of us ordered the prix fixe brunch with an omelet. Service-wise: - Our server changed early on during the meal with no explanation. The server doesn’t work brunch so was unfamiliar with our requests. - Parts of the meal were forgotten but were brought when reminded. - Our Server was frequently around and available for us. - The time between ordering and receiving our meal was extremely short. Food-wise: - My omelet was the sausage and pepper omelet. It was tasty, but clear that it was rushed. It was presented as a bit of a lump with all the sausage on one side - Everything was far greasier than it needed to be. - The cinnamon buns were smaller than expected. - The orange juice was excellent and tasted fresh squeezed. - Overall the food tasted very good. This is not my first time to the Gaslight, just my first brunch (and first review). While I wasn’t excessively impressed by brunch, I have genuinely enjoyed coming there for cocktails and oysters and intend to return. For the pricing I think I got everything I could reasonably expect from a brunch. While not the greatest I have ever had, I would still recommend to people looking for an inexpensive brunch option in the area.
Wow I am so impressed with the professionalism and graciousness of the front of house staff. I dined at Gaslight with my friend last night (Friday 10/26/18). We love the comfortable and spacious booths and we return for the escargot and bread and tuna entree. The escargot was not as awesome as it usually is (it was not bad, just not as great as it has been before) and reluctantly let our server (a young upbeat woman) know, she removed it from table and check immediately and the manager also came over to apologize that we didn't enjoy it. We will absolutely be back to have it again. Anyway we got yakking and time passed, we were horrified to look up and realize it was past midnight--the staff never indicated that it was time for us to go or that they would like to go home. Our check was not large and it was only 2 of us..They meet a standard of excellence one usually only sees at swanky upscale venues--topnotch service and a high level of accountability around the experience they provide--Thumbs way up they knocked it out of the park!
Nice place for Sunday brunch.
Good food ,good service and a great vibe.
Really nice atmosphere. Tried the escargot, wasn't good but doubt it was the escargot. Was definitely me. Would definitely go back.
Brunch was overpriced and food was served cold
We had a wonderful lunch there on a weekday a few months ago. We were hoping to go back for lunch on a weekend, but found they don't serve lunch (only brunch) on the weekends. So frustrating, not everyone wants breakfast food on the weekends (it used to only be on Sundays). They could at least offer both menus.
The dollar oyster time is always my favorite. Steve and Adam are great bartenders
Food and service is hit or miss, yet the prices reflect a top-end restaurant. We enjoyed the beef bourguignon, but the pasta was a soupy disgrace, and the lava cake had a thick stale crust. This just simply is not worth the sky-high prices - head downtown instead, and you'll get a much better experience for the same price.
All around a pleasant and delicious experience. The only downside is that the atmosphere isn't as nice as the location in Boston.
Excellent meal
Great service the staff is super friendly
Pleasant service. Small portions and only so so quality for the $$$$ price. $8.95 for a bottle of Dom Pellegrino with no cap, so it goes flat very quickly. Very disappointing.
This place is a gem!! We've been twice now and both times the food has been outstanding. The service (both at the bar and at a table) leaves much to be desired, but thankfully the food more than makes up for that
Got the dollar oysters at the outside bar with a good cocktail
Very bad service. Waited for a server for a long time after we were seated down; then the servers switched on us for an unknown reason 45 min after we were seated, while nobody came to offer service to order food. Thereafter we waited for appetizers for more than half an hour; and dinner for an hour after that. Two meals from the menu were unavailable. One of the side dishes wasn't delivered. To top it off we were double charged for one of the sides. We felt like stepchildren, left out and unattended. Way too expensive for quality and service received.
Great service.
Excellent Food nice bar an outdoor seating
Good French restaurant. My default place of dinning when looking for something fancy and close to home.
The most horrible customer service I've had. So bad that the waitress asked me questions like: "where do you live and find wild salmon?" just because I asked where their salmon was from. She said I had no idea how expensive wild salmon is, and when I mentioned that's what I consumed at home she asked where I lived and where did I get wild salmon from... it was so awkward. She could have simply said : "no, our salmon is farm raised".
Food is pretty good. First time I came it was excellent. The next time it wasn't as good but perhaps the chef was experimenting.
Great food in a great atmosphere
Food was over an hour late, just sitting under the heat lamp for probably most of it. I ordered a medium rare steak and got back an extremely well done burnt steak. Didn't even want to bother sending it back because it took so long to get to my table. Don't expect good food if you decide to sit at the bar on a busy day. I wish they gave the bartender an extra hand serving food because there was just too much on the poor guys plate. I don't at all blame him for my awful experience, I'd say more so its was poorly managed. Also calm down with the truffle oil. Everyone loves truffle oil but a little goes a long way. I came out reeking of truffle oil and I only ordered the fries this time. Don't ever get the truffle burger, it is extremely overwhelming with truffle taste.
Great service, especially at the bar. They have alfresco seating complete with exterior bar and heater lamps and fire pit for chilly nights. Food is very good. It's Americanized French but well executed. Put all that together and you have five stars.
Pros: Food came out quickly. Cons: Water didn't come out until we asked for it. We had to wait 10 mins after asking for it to even receive it. Didn't bring us a water jar but filled it up in the bar tap. Fries were not to my liking. Croissant was under cooked, raw dough. Dark chocolate tasted like Hershey chocolate chips. Server was just not very attentive. Probably won't return. Go Wahlburgers across the street instead.
Service was excellent
Love their outdoor patio. Good food/drinks, and the server was super nice.
Beef bourguignon to die for
Service was bad, food was average . $ 29.00 for braised Prime Rib tasted like slow cook in an pressure cooker with beef broth. I can do better.
Consistently excellent food but the service could use some work. During a sparse lunch crowd in a table of only two they forgot our only appetizer and one of our drinks.
1st visit was a success! We enjoyed the great service, everyone was very attentive and pleasant. The menu has so many good choices. We had short rib hash, gruyere and ham crepes and omelets- everyone was happy. Cinnamon rolls were exquisite. The atmosphere is fun and relaxing. Looking forward to coming back for cocktails.
This place has a really cute patio eating area and nice decor. I have eaten here twice. The food is good, but both times I have found the service to be impeccable. The wine list is also very good as well.
Great, cheerful service! Great food!
It was my 1st time there. sat at the bar with a couple of girlfriends. Adam the bartender was very nice polite and efficient. the food was good. the place was clean. the bathroom was clean. I would definitely come back
I'm not sure what it's trying to be. High end looking, heavy rock music playing kinda loud. For the food it was not good for the price your paying. I ordered the NY strip steak and for $40 what I received I wouldn't have sent it out. It was very small and thin. Terrible. So I would not think of going back. The staff was good. No apps on to he menu to share just salads.
Good food, decent prices
Wonderful for Al fresco dining in season. Varied menu and attentive wait staff.
Been there since opening. In the beginning , I can tell as any other restaurant on new location, they were adapting and service was little off. Months went by , and I noticed big, big improvement on both food, service and atmosphere! Staff is top, service is fast, food is absolutely delicious. Now they carry local beers and this is A+, great selection of wines and drinks. One of my favorite places! Nice location for a date or just hang out with friends and family . Sunday brunch a must.
Gaslight has always had great food, amazing service and delivered a great experience. Yet today I am writing a review to compliment them on their above and beyond service for hosting us and my parents with our 7 month old. On a busy Saturday night they sat us at a table where we could have a stroller and didnt blink at the notion of having a small child within their restaurant. When i stepped out to stroll our son to sleep they noticed :) held back the meals (keeping them warm) until i returned with him asleep- so we may all eat together.
Good Bistro menu.
An amazing place to dine. The food here is phenomenal, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is beautiful! Highly recommended!!
Pretty solid, the food will surprise you, atmosphere is good too. Especially considering you're eating in a mall, a nice mall but still.
Some very good food at a reasonable price
THE FOOD HAD A FRENCH FLARE WE ENJOYED A PLEASANT WAITER VERY INTELLIGENT responsive WE started with Tomato bisque and BEET salad TASTY but odd NO Garganzola or even goat cheese, had few more appetizers THE Gaslight burger GREAT EXCELLENT TASTY juicy burger NOT SALTY at all like that place across street. My Companion NEVER came up for air LOVED it had a few cocktails with a very funny GENTLEMAN who made us feel welcome GAVE US some pointers on dinner entrees to try next time introduced us to other patrons WE had a great time I must have enjoyed the wine HE suggested SO MUCH I FORGOT his name but he had a ponytail my Wife said he will remember your name HE introduced you and you know how to take care of superior service TRY this great place and say hi to a fun loving PROFESSIONAL Bar personnel have a great time
we were guests of a birthday brunch a few weeks ago. Not only was the food excellent and delicious, the service was outstanding. The young man whom we had was very attentive to everyone, I wish I knew his name to give him the credit he deserved! I hope to get back there for a dinner, as the atmosphere was great as well!
1st time there! Good food and amazing service!! The creme brulee was super delicious!!
Really good food and atmosphere
For outdoor drinks with the pit fire or relaxed dinner nights with a friend or hubby, I enjoy this spot. Love, Love the cheese board
Beautiful food and atmosphere.
Best food ever. Great friendly service and super pricing. A definate must go if you havent yet.
Great restaurant for comfort and fine foods alike. Vibrant atmosphere and good service !
A bit pricy, but the food is absolutely great and well worth it! We ate like kings in a 6 appetizer smorgasbord. Definitely worth a try!
Reasonable food slow service
This place was wonderful for brunch. Great table, fun atmosphere and great service. The food was really good too! We will certainly be back ASAP
Mediocre brunch at best; the server couldn't explain the distinctively named cheddar in the omelette, nor did she provide the orange juice that was included in the brunch fixed price menu. The included cinnamon bun was comparable to a Pillsbury packaged bun, and not even appetizing enough to attempt (not what I would have expected from a higher end establishment).
They try really hard. The service is great. It's not France, though
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. One of my new favourites.
Excellent food and service! Highly recommended
I've been there 3 or 4 times. The food has been great but I have not been blown away with the service
Disappointing. I’ve been here before and it’s been better but tonight the decor was the best part of the being there. The beet and cheese salad was a pathetic, measly portion of food. The escargot was a bit off and not HOT like it should be. And please get some cream in those profiteroles. Service was fine.
Great food! Awesome Manhattan cocktail!!
The food is excellent, but the service was mediocre. Our drinks we're forgotten, and we we're lacking silverware. There are better places in the area for the money.
Lovely ambiance, good service, but the bread and butter is the best. Menu has an interesting assortment and it's not too big. Nice, albeit pricey wines.
I had a really nice server at brunch. I accidentally ordered something I couldn't eat, and she fixed it immediately free of charge. She was very attentive to us, and the food was amazing.
Great food and service!
Not sure I would consider this French cuisine but I also havent been to France to judge. The food was recognizable dishes, perfect portion sizes, and absolutely delicious. I went for a team dinner and there was sharing of dishes so I was able to taste a variety. The atmosphere was nice and cozy-- not too dark, not too bright. Noisy but not to the point that you can't carry a conversation at your table.
Went for brunch with 2 friends. My toast was burnt on one side and they covered it up by serving it non-burnt side up. The egg scrabble was pretty good. Coffee was good, not weak. Paid $4.95 for a fresh fruit and berry bowl - there were literally 4 berries and some extremely thin sliced melon and pineapple. I’d say the fruit and berry bowl was worth more like $1.
