We were visiting the area and this place had great reviews so we decided why not... The food was good, but the wait time for a table of 3 was ABSURD due to it being such a tiny restaurant! I think we ended up waiting for at least an hour and you just kind of hang out in the vicinity of the front door / porch, because there's not an actual waiting area.

The service is really good. Very friendly, warm and caring staff! This was our first visit here and felt very welcome. The coffee is terrific, the cups were well sized and wait staff made sure my cup never got below half before a warm up came around! This is fantastic. The food was great for the most part. Everything was great except home-fries. Now, this is a subjective thing as many reviews here do love the style this place serves. I noticed that many breakfast places serve this style, so there must be a demand for it. The home fries are boiled potatoes that are chopped, seasoned (mostly color and little flavor) and then done on the grill. They are not crispy nor flavorful, however, you can season them yourself to your liking I guess. They have an option for loaded home fries which is pretty good, mostly same potatoes but with cheese and hollandaise sauce. Overall: great place, will surely go back! Final Grade: A-

This is a very popular breakfast spot in my town. Unfortunately, today they missed the mark this morning. I ordered Portuguese sweet bread french toast. Upon ordering I asked if anything else came with the french toast. The waitress answered no. I am so glad that I decided to order a side of home fries. I recieved 2 small pieces of french toast. It looked to be a side dish rather than a main meal. What I received would not even satisfy a 5 year old. I ate one slice of the french toast and then I noticed that my dish was dirty from its previous serving. I have to say that I was extremely disappointed.

4 stars? I highly question that. I ordered the steak (medium) and eggs. Menu advertised the steak was from Micheals Meats NY Sirloin. I’ve had Michael’s NY Sirloin, Eggs Up aren’t serving nor can the cook prepare a medium steak. My apologies for Michael’s, if they aren’t supplying them I would suggest taking them off the print on the menu. The eggs were over cooked and homefries were dry. Service was disappointing; asked for catsup, hot sauce, and steak sauce, waitress delivered them after meal was complete with No apology. I would move on from this dump! Pleany of other choices in Cumberland. More like ‘Eggs Down!’

The pancakes are large and really good; I'd rate them at least a 9 out of 10. Real maple syrup is available for $1.59 extra, but the regular syrup was fine. Bacon: thick and excellent. I asked for crisp and that's what I got. The coffee was pretty good, actually better than we expected. The home fries are the cubed/boiled/grilled type, and were also really good; not oniony or stuffed with peppers as some places make them, just good, simple, and classic. Teri had Eggs Benedict, and loved them - that's a quote. She's quite picky about Eggs Benedict, so that's a definite rave. The one disappointment was the corned beef hash. It IS homemade, but it's EXTREMELY oniony and I hit a huge chunk of gristle on my third bite (I was picking at it out of politeness). I have to admit that the gristle really grossed me out. It was extremely crowded at 10:30am on Sunday morning. The waiting area is very small, and we were standing for about ten minutes. They have a limited lunch menu which we didn't try, and they're open until 2pm. All in all a really good breakfast, apart from the hash. We shall return.

Sodas are Pepsi (formerly Coke.) All the GF members of our party are very happy with the gluten free food choices. No bike rack. No bus service. Big parking lot. I went here a lot when I was young, and it hasn't updated well over the years. I know most people don't expect much in the way of ambiance at a typical greasy spoon type place like Eggs-Up, but even with low expectations it's a bit drab and uninviting. We came in at 9am on the day after Christmas and there was no wait. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meals (omelets) but my pancakes came out at basically room temperature, which was very surprising. The waitress brought some syrup, which obviously was stored in the refrigerator. So, cold syrup on barely warm pancakes made for a really disappointing breakfast today. With so many other local options available, we probably won't come back.

Was first introduced to this place 8 years ago. As a foreigner to both RI and the USA I love coming here for breakfast. Portions are great, food is excellent and I continually come back for more. Recommend it any day! Please note there is usually a wait and since there is no real waiting area inside the line is out the the door. Well worth it though!
