Excellent service. Celebrated our one year anniversary here and will come back again. Exquisite cuisine, intimate environment and warm staff that made us feel special. Highly recommend for fancy dining.

Matt Snavely

Very nice time with my kid

Why 5 stars? The food was amazing - duck mousse pate and other treats; the ambiance was terrific - very very French. The service was great - prompt without being intrusive. The drinks were good too...and the price was fair.

Ronald Bisnett

The duck fat fries alone earns this place 5 stars, but skip the ketchup and only use the aioli if you must dip them in something. Fine dining in an elegant, yet cozy, atmosphere with generous portions that aren't excessive. When I went, we had a member of our party with food allergies and our server was a big help. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and their ample wine selection allows for a range of budgets.

Dave Poutre’ Fine Framing

Absolutely fabulous. First class gourmet and not stuffy.

Don Mitchell

Pretentious. Reasonable looking cocktail selection, but the Apres Ski was too sweet even though the description sounded dry. The french onion soup was good but tiresome. The sourdough bread was very good. Good service. Clientele seemed uninteresting.

rathna prakash

Best French food. Amazing service. Very cozy interior.

Stewart Solomon

5 course wine pairing was devine. And when we disagreed with a pairing they brought a back up choice.

Kimberly Cote

9pm reservation and were finally seated at 9:45pm. Sat for another 15 minutes before table was approached for water. Pairings were not served together. Food was served without the wine. Had to request the wine come before or with the food. Everything came out cold. It had been sitting in the kitchen. I would not go back. New Years Eve 4 course dinner was close to $700 (with bar tab of 2 drinks added in while we waited 45 minutes). This was too expensive for what we got. Plenty of other places offer better food and service for half the price. None of the wines were spectacular at that price. Food was just OK.

I first reviewed Deuxave five years ago. We loved it then, and we love it even more now! One of our Go-To places whenever we’re in Boston. Beautiful soft lighting and decor in a soft modern setting with a nice bar, alfresco seating in the good weather, and a fireplace during the colder seasons. Welcoming staff and great service accompanying truly exceptional cuisine. Last night we enjoyed the duck liver pate with it’s accomanying pineapple and cardamom sauce on the side, with thin slices of vanilla poached pear and pickled plout, and a delectable stack of warm toast.

Wonderful food and wonderful service

Kimberly Mitchell

“Great Ambiance but overrated” I went twice (one for a birthday celebration and one for business dinner). The ambiance and decor are wonderful. The food is too meat-based, very few seafood options and not that impressive, just average. I have to say, though, that my friends who eat meet found it amazing (especially the duck). Service is great. Overall, expensive.

Fabulous French food, both in presentation and taste, in a relaxed atmosphere. Fun and delicious! Cute engaging servers. Great location as across from Harvard Club & The Elliott Hotel.

My husband surprised me with a dinner there for our 1st anniversary, Mark was the person responsible to teach us about all the meals, recommended the perfect wine, made sure to follow up on every detail. Everything was so perfect that we didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back.

Stacy-ann A.

This restaurant is amazing. The food is great, presentation is beautiful and the service is exceptional. The Decor is sophisticated and chic which lends to both a romantic and classy atmosphere. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I made meal selections based on the recommendation of my waitress. This isn't the average grab and go type of restaurant and the cost is reflective of the exceptional food and atmosphere.

Jenn Allen

My husband took me here for our anniversary dinner. We sat on their beautiful outdoor patio and had a wonderful evening. From start to finish drinks, appetizers, meals, and desserts were wonderfully balanced in flavor composition and presentation. Our server was very knowledgeable about which dishes were gluten free and even brought me some gluten free bread hot from the oven. Thank you to the team at deuxave for impressing two people who don't like to go out to eat because we are both serious cooks and are frequently disappointed. A must try if you are near back Bay.

Michael Moussa

A bit pricey. Had the chef tasting paired with wine. Food was decent. I'm still hungry though.

Jennifer Perri

Not what we expected. Just left after having dinner. We very obviously came out for a special occasion and were seated in one of 2 booths near the bar area. The dinning room had many tables that were never sat ehile we were there. If a couple comes out in an eveing gown and a suit theyre not looking to sit in a booth. Read your guests better! Food i will not say anything bad about it was very good. You should be creating an experience! Not just food.

Lostin Boston

Very good. Had anniversary dinner here and staff was exceptional. Food was pretty solid. Wine selection was great. Definitely recommend for special occasions.

Dexter Wang

Good food. Well prepared and seasoned. Very nice atmosphere.

Modern, trendy and chic French restaurant

Steven Hugely

Amazing service and wine selection. Of course the food is to die for. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Megan Jensen

We were not too familiar with French wines and the variants but the waitress was very helpful and recommended a delicious Bordeux which we loved. We got the tartare/carpaccio appetizer which was delicious. I got the duck breast entree, which was as amazing and wonderful as I was hoping and expecting. She got the lamb entree. It was good, but did not live up to the expectations set up by the quality of everything else.

Mac Kevin Charles

It was one of the best day i had so far for this year. The space is amazing, the service is splendide. By the way, it's a fancy restaurant just to let you know to dress casual, that will make the different trust me it will.

Deuxave is an excellent choice for a good meal or special occasion. We are from Ohio, but got married (elopement) in Boston. We came to Deuxave on our wedding night, and they treated us so well. We came back for our one year anniversary. You can make reservations which I recommend. The chef’s specialties are fish and duck and he does them up right. The Night Moves and duck confit starters are out of this world. You cannot go wrong with any of the entrees or recommendations from your waiter.

Skippy Zc

The chefs here really have a great knowledge about food.

Paul Toretta

Best service and caring professionals

Jennifer Perez

The experience was amazing, it was the Easter event which had the prix fixe. The seating had a very comfy chair and the table was big enough to have 5 people sitting comfortably. The appetizers and drinks were very well done and only complimented the rest of the meal. The service was great and the steak was cooked very well with delicious sauce add to it. Was a great experience and would definitely go again sometime.

Sigita Trabesinger

One of the best places in Boston if not the best. Maybe portions are a bit too generous for fine food dining, but nonetheless very good high quality food. Amazing service. Duck is highly recommended!

Adrianna Amaro

Delicious food! Must try the lobster gnocchi!!!

Chris M

The lobster ravioli appetizer is amazing, the drinks are great, service is good. Overall, great restaurant but a bit overpriced

Jennifer Lee

12/31/2015 I decided to give this restaurant another chance and booked for NYE after an unsavory experience 2 months ago. When I told my friend about the incident (that I was hoping service and food will be better), he suggested we go to a …

Firas Kaddouh

Great atmosphere! Excellent food... Excellent service! could possibly have more vegetarian options on the menu!

Zack verney-carron

Best tasting menu I've had in a long time, few can rival the fine dining experience you get at Deuxave. Wine list is stellar with a very wide selection.

A good tasting menu—one that succeeds in coherence—is able to conjure the diner to another place and time: perhaps a villa in Tuscany, a hamlet in Provence. Deuxave’s relocated us to the global nihilism of international business class, and the well presented but ultimately flavorless concoctions this entails. Food this bland may actually be something of a treat at 30,000ft but is profoundly disappointing back on Earth. The tasting menu started with a nondescript amuse-Bouche, and then to some rather tasteless charcuterie lazily draped over a seemingly undressed salad. To follow, scallions with some paste. Deuxave loves pastes. The following two dishes were admittedly better: a raviolo (we learned the singular for this word!) with an egg yolk on the inside, and then a small but delicious cut of Ribeye accompanied by some other paste. Great chefs know that the typical diner remembers the last course more clearly and so a good dessert can make up for a lot. Deuxave regrettably presented us with a dry slice of Focaccia topped with two slices of brie and three berries mounted—I think philatelists prefer the word ‘fixed’—atop and held in place by jam. I have rushed together some basic hors d'oeuvres in my time, but I think I would have hesitated to serve this to guests at my home. For $109, the tasting menu presented a profound disappointment. The ambience didn’t help; we were stuffed in a small section at the back between two mirrors with remarkably uncomfortable seats and stark lighting. Several other guests were offered seats in this section and asked to move, and I wish we’d done that ourselves. Perhaps the only redeeming feature of this restaurant was the service, which was friendly and reasonably attentive throughout. As we left, the host asked us “how was your meal?” Not wishing to burst her bubble, we smiled and walked into the bleak and rainy fall evening that so complemented Deuxave.

Revant Tandon

Great ambience. The tasting menu is very good

Ann Rodgers

Great service and food. If you decide to come here, look for Guillermo, he will be behind the bar. Tip: you can order food from the bar too!

Paul Barry

A stunning French restaurant in Back Bay. The service, atmosphere, and food were all delightful. My wife and I had the truffle chicken breast for two and it was the best chicken I have ever tasted. Truly a special evening at a wonderful place!

Matthew DiPlacido

Delicious food, nice atmosphere and service

Dr. Timothy Hoffman

Great

Quility Maroc

Great food, professional staff, and impecable service.

Kamlesh Chhetty

Went for a birthday celebration and the food was really amazing. We ordered the lobster appetizers, duck and chicken for the maincourse.. we really wanted to try the baked alaska(mentioned on their website) but our server told they had not updated their menu online. Overall great ambiance. Do dress up a bit though :)

Flynn Carey

Excellent food. Try the variety of cocktails, including both old school drinks and fun innovative cocktails.

Benjamin Dzivak

Took my wife here for her 40th. They provided us with an excellent night, service, and food. I would go back in a heartbeat. The food was incredibly creative, but not extreme for the sake of being creative. It was well done. Thank you for a great evening.

DJ Rizzo

Staff was amazing and friendly. My friend and I, who are in high school came here for a meal and no assumptions were made about our income or outfits. The staff helped guide our meal choices and were quick to refill water or clear the table. The meal was amazing and the quality of the veal was to die for. On top of that, the dessert was an amazing finisher with the taste being so high quality it felt like you were in a real French bakery. If you are anywhere near in Boston and want a high quality meal where a collared shirt isn’t required, come to Deuxave

Alex Miemiec

An amazing dining experience. Great service and fresh food. The duck was more than I could have ever hoped for. Can't wait to go back.

Philip

The quality of food and level of service is first rate. The only down size its very crowded with the ensuring noise level problem.

Danny Mitchell

Holy cannoli this place is wicked good.

Deirdre James

Awesome food and drink although a bit on the pricey side.

Alvin Ihsani

The staff was attentive. The halibut and the chicken were really really good. Wine selection was great. Worth the money

Nice, but everything seemed like a small plate

Great food. Staff was a bit inattentive

Had a beautiful night here for my anniversary / Valentines Day. Ambiance was cozy and elegant. Waiter was very knowledgable about the menu and recommended some great dishes and drinks. In the pictures we started with the wagu beef duo of carpaccio and tartare. This was my absolute favorite! Then we tried and loved the duck confit which was crispy perfection with mangos with a chili paste. For dinner we got the steak and chicken entrees. Both did not disappoint! Both cooked perfectly and very tasty. For a drink my favorite was the Bubble Bath. Perfect combo of gin, lemon, lavender, and bubbles. I would honestly go back here just for that alone! I would definitely recommend this place all around.

Heli Silva

Great bar, excellent balanced menu, and superior service. Add a lovely ambiance, wonderfully seasoned dishes that taste how they read off the menu and you get a five star restaurant. Go

Lauren Nichols

Best dining experience of my life! I had the halibut with pea puree. We lived the night up because it was our anniversary...which clearly is the best reason to attend such an incredible restaurant. This place makes all other restaurants look stupid. Get everything on the menu. It will blow you away.

Hortencia Safier

Every bite was another taste of heaven. You could really tell that the fish was the freshest, caught that morning. Every piece was crafted with the greatest care. The sushi chefs were proud of their "artwork". Definitely coming back!

Jason Ekstrom

Great service and amazing wine selection with options for every taste.

Maggie Murphy

One of the best highlights of Boston. Great food and lovely setting for a special occasion. If you get there early on a warm day you might be able to secure a seat on the outdoor dining. Expensive, but worth it in my opinion. Casual, but still "special occasion." The lobster gnocchi starter was stellar. Great cocktails. Had dinner here on a Friday night, enjoyed the chef's tasting menu. We added the foie gras supplement which was excellent, though was served with sweet accompaniments rather than savory. The sea bass course was a standout, and the creme brulee dessert was also very good.

Sally Schwartz

We went here after a Red Sox game, we told the bartender that we just got engaged today which we did. They said congrats and gave us free champagne which was super nice. They then brought us a congrats desert which we also didn’t ask for but was super nice. The bill came and they charged us for the desert... seriously?! We didn’t order that, weren’t asking for extras and we feel they took advantage of us. Who does that? This place.

Farhana Cannon

This by far is my favorite restaurant in Boston. The food is absolutely amazing. The flavor combinations are innovative and delicious. I literally savor every bite that I take. Chef Chris Coombs is in expert and it shows in every item he creates. Some of my favorite items are the duck, steak tartare, lobster gnocchi and creme brûlée.

Forrest Milder

Went for our wedding anniversary. We were promptly seated at what seemed an especially nice table for 2 with large wingback chairs. Alas, these big comfy chairs aren’t so well suited to eating; we had to sit up on the edges to eat. Nothing came to the table for a bit, but then a friendly waiter greeted us with "welcome back." (Did someone really track that we had eaten there a few years ago?). We ordered drinks, and our meal. We were seated a full 45 minutes before our first course came. My wife loved her foie gras; my burrata was a somewhat odd presentation; it was submerged in "tomato water," something not mentioned on the menu, and making it something of a cold soup. I wouldn’t get it again. Main courses arrived promptly after that, but our waiter forgot that I had suggested we might like a glass of wine with dinner. Indeed, where was our waiter? I asked the server to bring back the wine list; the wines actually arrived when we were a third through our main courses. My wife’s salmon was terrific; it was very lightly cooked, and she couldn’t finish it, even with help from me. My rib-eye steak was cooked perfectly, and it was tasty, but didn’t look the least bit like a rib-eye. It looked like a large cube of sirloin, with little, if any, marbling. We got dessert menus, and then, we lost our waiter again. We had to grab the roving hostess to get him to return to the table. The Dark Chocolate Crèmeux was a memorable dessert. Great chocolate, and lots of different textures. As others have noted, this is not an inexpensive restaurant, and while it had several big pluses, the more-than-occasional lapses in service and presentation weren’t up to this high a price tag.

Jeff Suter

Amazingly great food, ambiance, and service. Pricey!

Brendan Travers

Amazing duck and chicken tortellini. Dessert was great, although they were out of the soufflé. Service 10/10. Atmosphere was quiet and romantic. My only complaint is the drop ceiling.

Jorge Garcia

Elegant presentation, fine flavor, & classy ambience at a convenient location

Michael Bolgov

Service is great. Staff are nice. But the food is not too great.:( The pasta was very good but the gnocchi was not good.

Jason Gauthier

Great place to go for a romantic evening. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Wouldn't have chosen any other restaurant for a romantic meal

Marcy Akers

My son and I had an amazing meal tonight at Deuxave. Each dish (from the homemade butter to the dessert) was interesting and perfectly prepared. The service was outstanding - attentive but not intrusive. #perfection

Allison Nelson

Another level of dining experiences.

Donna Howe

Why 5 stars? The food was amazing - duck mousse pate and other treats; the ambiance was terrific - very very French. The service was great - prompt without being intrusive. The drinks were good too...and the price was fair.

Priscilla Driscoll

This one of a kind place really sets the bar for other great restaurants in Boston!

Willie Thomas

It's a beautiful restaurant and the seating is comfortable they even have a fireplace in the back if you get lucky you can sit beside it. My server was incredible very knowledgeable very helpful. The food is absolutely amazing. Pricey but worth it. Went to the bar after dinner for drinks and the bartender was very sweet and nice offered to let us try some wine which we want up having a bottle. Definitely coming back here with work clients and with friends.

Gregory Burd

Atmosphere, service and location are great. Food is meh and portions are quaint. Wine list is good, drinks also good but generally overpriced. Overall I left feeling hungry, cheated and sure I could have cooked better dishes at home.

Gideon Coltof

Great food, stellar service.

Lionel Carnot

Good food. Impressive wine list as long as one likes burgundy wine. Service was fast and efficient.

Jaryl Lim

Awesome ambience, fantastic food and superb service!

eid nawasrah

I've been to many places, and I can tell you if you ever wanna have a very special night with a very special person, this is the place to go. For some people it might be pricy but I can tell you it's worth it. Food is great, atmosphere is fantastic. Great for a love night. You'll spend around $350 to $500 for three course dinner. Thumps Up

Carolyn K

Delicious and beautiful presentation! Everything I’ve had on the menu has been wonderful, plenty of tastes and textures in every dish. The food is too rich to visit here frequently, but I love it as a neighborhood option for a special dinner. Attentive staff with great recommendations and attention to detail. A great date spot.

Joel Tudisco

Best meal or service I have ever had.

Emmanuel Valenzuela

Four of us went for dinner and everything we ordered from appetizers to entrees to desserts was delicious. Service was very leisurely, a bit slow but the staff was very attentive. The restaurant has a modern decor but was somewhat noisy but the food was definitely worth it

Jay Keyes

Nice fine dining restaurant in the Back Bay. I had the tasting and enjoyed most of my entrees immensely, with a couple of standouts (the Crispy Duck Confit and the Pan Seared Atlantic Halibut). Nice wine pairings. Felt like I got a meal commensurate with the price tag.

MANEEL PATEL

Great atmosphere and Lovely desert. Must try Niman Ranch Prime N.Y. Strip.

Curt Raffi

If you're into hip and modern, groom your beard, and tirelessly seek the newest epicurean adventure each week... you might want to pause and consider another way to enjoy an evening out. If not, meet Deuxave...The vibe is both modern and cozy with a hint of old world ambiance. The food is amazing and our service was excellent. Nicole and Christina (our servers) were both knowledgeable and incredibly personable. They made our evening fun as well as relaxing. It was an anniversary to remember... Thank you so much for a fabulous French evening with: amazing onion soup, duck breast, french fries drizzled in duck fat, pear cake & buttery rolls. Forget calories at the door, bring on the butter and "Vive la difference". Food and service both are worthy of an A rating.

Kwesi Kwakye

I proposed to my girlfriend at the restaurant and it was simply amazing. They helped me craft something really nice and exciting and the atmosphere was just the best for the occasion . And their food , On point . I loved it and my girlfriend loved it too. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience and will always come back. I highly recommend this place for any kind of romantic date . Trust me you will never regret god’s there.

Eli Robles

Outstanding location for tasty American food. Great spot for an appetite of any size. I look forward to a return visit. Prices are appropriate.

Jim Asprinio

My wife and I came for dinner and our meals, appetizers and desserts were excellent. Very good service and staff, and the atmosphere is very nice. Its not stuffy, you arent right on top of other people and the noise level is low and very pleasant to actually have a conversation and not have to yell. Just an overall great experience!

Alan Weiner

Outstanding food and service with great atmosphere!

Paula K

On the the best restaurants in the Boston area. Extraordinary service. Beautiful presentation of all dishes.

Alfonso Blohm

Try the foie gras. Amazing.

Markus Rauter

Servers are very friendly and explains the menu clearly and gives good recommendations!! Parking available in front for 3$75 per hour (street parking). Has a good vine list and a great dinner menu. The taste of the food is wonderful!!! Price a little bit to high

Paul Swerdlow

outstanding food. great help from the sommelier with picking a nice wine to pair with food.

Wendy Darling

Most enjoyable drinks, wait staff, and atmosphere. The one menu option that I REALLY wanted was the grilled octopus; however, it was only available on a tasting menu that could not be modified. I thoroughly enjoyed my tartare in its place. It would be wonderful if you could somewhat customize a tasting menu based on the menu offerings, and then price it accordingly. If most people are like me, we are happy to more than pay extra to get exactly what we want.

Eric Carangelo

Great food and service, nice setting

Alexandra Langer

We went for an early Valentine's dinner and it was delicious! Service was fantastic, and I wholeheartedly recommend the duck

Jay Ambat

Our waitress was amazing

Chris Rapier

Went here Easter Sunday - food was well thought out, wine was way over priced (several bottles that are available in European supermarkets were marked up by over 10 times the price). Staff weren't particularly attentive or friendly - 400 by buck's for dinner for two, you could throw in a smile

Ross Bouchard

Fantastic - worth a visit!

Jason Gardner

Delicious food. Sadly awful service from start to finish - reservation was 45 mins late, plates are dirty and ran out of port by the glass and bottle. Wow. This is the best of Boston? Sadly not.

Mario Alvarez

Great atmosphere, fantastic service

Gerald Fowlkes

Fabulous Service was five star. Confit Duck superb! All food presentations creative and delicious. Great for special occasions like My birthday today. Blessings Rev Gerald Fowlkes

Deuxave should definitely be experienced by anyone wanting a high quality restaurant experience in Boston. We spent our Christmas Eve her for a 3 course dinner incl. wine...and what a great experience!! The quality pretty much starts outside the restaurant when the friendly valet staff greeted us. We were shown inside and got our table. The ambience was nice, quiet and comfortable. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable on both the menu and the comprehensive wine list, which is definitely not something we have experienced in a lot of other restaurants. The food was absolutely fantastic and super tasty - Some of the best we have had in Boston. Kudos to the chef! And the wine recommended by our waiter, was perfectly paired with the food, kudos to the waiter! Unfortunately we had a slight issue with one of our meals but this was handled very professionally, by both waiter and floormanager, which in my world is the real test of the restaurants quality. We are definitely looking forward to our next visit at Deuxave in the near future.

Sean Martin

Excellent Boston fine dining

Ronika Lewis

Great food, nice ambience, pricey, but did I mention the food is GREAT! It will take some time for your food, as there’s a small kitchen, but it’s a nice sit down restaurant.

Diana Loomis

Absolutely impeccable service, flavors, and ambiance. An elegant way to spend time appreciating gorgeous flavors in a beautiful restaurant. Cannot wait to return!

Brandon Cowley

Deuxave is a guaranteed good idea. All of the food is expertly cooked, artistically plated, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable

Stuart Quan

Great food. Not noisy

Douglas Sprague

A truly professional restaurant in all ways, with the food being delicious and the staff flawless.
