I went in today around 4-5 o clock. I ordered 2 buffalo chicken sandwiches in one of the sandwiches I found a long piece of hair. After encountering this piece of hair I could not finish my sandwich and the Second sandwich I bought my friend was left untouched.

Sweet tea not that sweet. Corn bread stayed together when eating it & tasted good. Rice W/black beans has a delicate flavor to accent the other strong flavors of bbq. Collard greens was fresh. Good strips of onion in it. Kind of a smokey flavor to it with a touch of heat (but not much). BBQ beef ribs very tender & moist. Fall off the bone tender. Good flavor. Definatly the greasiest beef ribs I have ever had. So if you don't mind the grease, then get them. Good selection. Next time I will probably try pulled chicken. Oh, sweet bbq is made in house & very good.

So good. Full beef ribs($25) with 2 sides: French fries and black beans rice. It came with an extra thing...a piece of corn bread! So good!! It worth it! People were nice and very fresh to service!

There was no hospitality. A man at the register was getting frustrated with the fact that someone with us asked for a regular pulled chicken sandwich but I guess it wasn’t on the menu. If it’s not on the menu we can order something else but he had a bad attitude when saying it and there was poor service.

Holy Pig! This is a great barbecue place!St. Louis ribs were outstanding. I am scheduling work in Wrentham, 40 miles from home, just to come here. Its been a couple months since my first post. I've been 10 X's. Eaten all the meat on the menu. I wish there was another star. I don't understand the $$ Google. What do people think they should pay for perfectly prepared real food?

Gotta doc ya a point on the brisket boss wasn't fully cooked.... If I can chew the fat it wasn't done... Pork was a little over (dry) but it was 7pm...collard greens were the bomb and the hot jam was great!

Definitely the best barbecue in the area. Great place to go in the summer when you just want to sit at a picnic table and eat some tasty meats. The pulled chicken is amazing, the pulled pork sandwich is also really good. Great cowboy beans, good collards, yummy cornbread. Overall, lucky to have any place in the area that offers somewhat authentic southern BBQ and this place is doing it pretty well.

I ordered "The Double" with double chicken breast, coleslaw, cowboy beans and cornbread. It was awesome! The chicken breast was flavorful and tender. The coleslaw was fresh and crispy. The cowboy beans were tasty. I could easily eat a bowl of those! And the cornbread was moist! It was a fantastic meal!

We pulled off at exit 15 to wait out some turnpike traffic and were super happy to easily locate this awesome BBQ joint. Walk up window with outdoor seating only, I imagine it's a summer spot exclusively. The brisket was nice and smoky and tender. The jalapeno poppers were unconventional, but delicious nonetheless. Beware, they're huge and filled with sausage. Yum! The mac and cheese was good, and the house BBQ sauce was tasty. The building itself is quirky and proves a low key decor can easily hide some unexpectedly delicious food.

They have a wide variety of BBQ. sometimes I will go out of my way to get some. My favorite is pulled pork but their others are great too. We usually do take out but they have picnic tables and do delivery for functions as discounts for regulars. They go from mild to WOW sauces.

Other than the swarming bees that boldly attempt to share your meal, this place is great. Unfortunately, hard to enjoy the super delicious food when getting dive bombed by dozens of bees. It's too bad because there aren't many places around like this where you can eat outside. Alas, I recommend ordering "to go".

This is one of the top BBQ places in the area. The meat has a nice bark, is very tender and moist without being greasy. The pulled pork and brisket can be bought by the point for lots of take home. Outdoor seating or take-out are the options here. The picnic tables in back are nice in the warmer weather.

Super tasty messy barbeque. Portions are out of control, I probably was only able to eat about a quarter of the meat served in my sandwich even though it was delicious. However, leftovers for the boyfriend and the puppy were much appreciated. Picnic table outdoor seating available. Bring baby wipes or wet naps, but isn't that always an indicator of how good barbeque is?

The food is always good. Unfortunately, they almost always forget our cornbread. Seriously, 9/10 times they forget it - I definitely recommend you check everything before you leave if you're not eating there. The only seating is outdoors, so keep that in mind. The staff isn't always attentive at the windows.

Wings are excellent, as is the pulled pork. Ribs are perfect. Tons of flavor, big portions. Great place to bring the family when the weather is nice, perfect for take out when it's not. Outdoor seating only, but all shady and comfortable even on a hot day. Small space in the back for kiddos to run around. Most importantly - the food is prefect!

First time ordering from commonwealth bbq and it will be my last. The ribs were not properly cleaned of fat And LOOKED TERRIBLE. the ribs were not completely cooked. The only thing that was edible, from my order was the fries. Lastly I placed this order online, and when I verified my order (twice ) to the guy at the pick-up windows acted as if I was not the person who ordered. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone !! To many young guys in the shop that don't have a clue what they are doing! !

Had Higher Expectations. Let me start by saying this place is by no means "bad", I just had higher expectations. First, counter help was rude every time he opened the window to interact with customers, was not sure if this was part of his "shtick" or not. Beef Ribs were outstanding, five stars. Brisket cut way too thick, lacked tenderness, really like sliced roast beef. Sausage was too greasy, just ok. Pulled pork, uninspiring. Sides, lackluster. Again... service, not tip worthy. I'm being generous with three stars.

Great food. After living down south for 10 years, I can say that they have their beans, greens, and meats on point. Sauces are "serve yourself " and that can be a drawback or a blessing. Ribs fall off the bone, and their jalapeno poppers are a real treat, stuffed with not just cheese, but smoked meat too!

Probably my favorite barbecue restaurant! it's above the drive from our house but we will definitely make that drive to get some BBQ! It's wonderful during the summer time so just sit outside and enjoy! Also fantastic that they offer catering!

Wasn’t to happy with my experience. Been driving by this location for months. Notice It was always packed. So I️ decided to give It try. I️ order my meal to go. As I️ waited for my food I️ notice that the grills inside were dirty and everything looked messy. Once I️ got home my bread was soggy, the pork had no flavor, and my fries tasted re-heated. The other two meals were exactly the same. Will never eat from here again. Not sure why It’s so busy.

This place is amazing. I just moved here from Tennessee and the brisket reminds me of back home. The cole slaw melted in my mouth and baked beans took me back to when i used to camp. The ribs should have been mentioned on food network along with the cucumber salad fresh from the garden. Who needs Texas when you have this cozy diamond in the corner to heaven.

Love the bbq here, the team is always working hard ti get there orders out the window. Message to the owner, you need to invest in some sort of air conditioning got the team, i was sweating just placing my order can't imagine what the employees are feeling! But food and service is fantastic!!

The food was mediocre at best. I had the BBQ burrito and it was ok, not a ton of flavor to really anything, on top of it my fries were cold. How do you serve cold fries when we waited 15 mins for food? The outdoor seating is also kind of nasty, the tables were covered in old food, I know this supposed to be part of the charm but seriously have someone clean the tables.

I am surprised how such small hidden spots have lip smacking food! Super authentic grilled food. I don't eat steak so sorry if this seems misleading but i trued chicken and it blew my mind. Pulled chicken sandwich and buffalo chicken sandwich are a must have. Also the sweet potato fries are delicious!

You simply cannot go wrong with this place!!! This is one of the few places that actually deserves a 5-Star rating. Pros: 1. Great food 2. Friendly staff 3. The best southern food I've had in New England. Period. Cons: 1. There's outdoor seating but not indoors. It really isn't a big deal to me but it's worth mentioning if it is to anybody else.

Got the food fast! Had an hour to drive home and it was still warm. Just toasted the Fry's a little. It fed 5 plus left overs. Chicken was good, brisket was ok, pulled pork and ribs were great. Sausage for a sampler was only 1/2 of a link? But I loved the taste of the sausage. I worked in a meat department and it reminded me of what they mixed together. Yum. Sides were all wonderful!

Some of the best BBQ I've ever had. Great surprise driving back home from the Cape. The smoke flavor is so plentiful in the brisket and pulled pork, it's delicious. They have great sides, and really good home made sauces. If you're hanging out near the outlets, or the cape, try this BBQ.

Really flavorful, simple BBQ. The location and building is nothing to brag about, but it's great for summer days and evenings. You sit outside and enjoy authentic BBQ however you want it. My husband loves the signature Commonwealth sandwich. I'm a mix and match. In the photo I got the stuffed jalapeno, BBQ chicken breast, 1 order of sausage and a side of cornbread. Sausage is excellent. Spicy Italian with a great grilled flavor.

This place is fabulous! The ribs are Yabba-dabba-do delicious! Buy extra and have it for leftovers; that is if there is anything left over. Delicious brisket, pork ribs, the sides are great. I always order a bowl of chili bc I love it for lunch the next day. When you are out doing errands, call in your order, pick it up, bring it home for dinner. I tell my adult kids that I'm bringing in Commonwealth BBQ for special gatherings and they always show up. Plus, I buy extra to send home with them. We started out with the Wampum Sampler. It's a great way to get to know their food. One time, we had a friend visiting who recently had oral surgery and she had not been able to eat more than applesauce and jello for a few days. She was over and we were considering where and what to eat; she heard BBQ, chili, pulled pork, and was all in! Another successful trip to Commonwealth BBQ. The only little detail that I only learned of recently that I didn't agree with or fully understand was the $5 credit that I earned for purchasing food in June expired within a month; so bc I didn't shop there within a month, it really wasn't a deal. We planned on using our two $5 credits, and they explained that we didn't have any points in the reward program. (They expired) So I guess if I shopped there every month, the rewards program would be more valuable. All this being said, I still highly recommend this BBQ spot. Maybe I'll go sooner to use this month's credit before it expires. Hmm yumm.

The food here is delicious and the people are super friendly. I usually go for a sandwich.. The Commonwealth and the Mason Dixon are both great. Also the stuffed jalapenos are amazing and you should never leave without at least one. Great BBQ close to the Wrentham Outlets.. I highly recommend Commonwealth BBQ.

Saw this place on the highway "food this exit" sign and had no idea what to expect. Found a converted vintage gas station that smelled of tasty food. I ordered the ribs with no sauce so I could try a couple of their sauces. Despite the sauces being good, I ended up eating most of the ribs bare as the sauces couldn't compete with the flavor of perfectly cooked pork. My partner had a pulled pork sandwich, and the bite of it I had was great as well. This place is a bit of a drive for us, but now that we know how good it is, we'll definitely be making that drive again.
