Very good experience here on a Friday late lunch. A lot of foreigners and tourists, but as a native I still enjoyed it. Both of us had salads which were good, the rose sangria was nice, but could have been more boozy. Only complaint is that it is on the pricey end considering what we had. However, their outdoor dining right on Newbury is what you're paying for at the end of the day.

Service was friendly, but the food was truly mediocre for the price paid. $14 for three eggs, some bread, and two sad pieces of bacon that were all fat. Wouldn’t recommend.

The food is always good, and cocktails are interesting and tasty. Service is usually on point. The one constant negative is that the indoor seating, especially downstairs, has terrible acoustics. A normal group next to you sounds loud, and the loud groups are deafening. They could really benefit from some sound-dampening material on the walls or ceiling.

Great food and drinks, the latter of which has a particularly wide selection of flavours. Staff is friendly and very prompt. Their outdoor seating area is a real draw, especially since it's located right on Newbury st. Their music in the outdoor area is great - very lounge esqe. Overall, would definitely recommend and look forward to visit again!

Very relaxed atmosphere but the food and drinks did not disappoint. Drinks came out quickly and the waiter poured all the beers for us, they were strong and correct. Food was delicious, especially the spinach dip. This is a perfect go to for a chill weekday/weekend night. Highly recommend

Was looking for a place to eat breakfast with a group of about 23 people on a field trip. We walked in thinking that they’d turn away such a large walk in, but just the opposite! They were more than happy to serve us and we were even able to get seperate checks. The service was great and the food came out pretty quick, especially with our large party. I got the steak and eggs and the steak was absolutely cooked to perfection! The coffee was also really good! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

A very nice cozy place on Newbury St for a weekend brunch. We sit at the bar and the bar tender was very nice and professional. The food meets the norm at that price. The smoke salmon was very good. Coffee was quite bad. Taste like plain water by Europe standard. We enjoyed a good brunch in a Sunday morning in December.

My friends and I decided to eat at Cafeteria one day and it was terrible. The restaurant was almost completely empty yet we still waited over 2 hours for our meals; you would’ve thought that the waiter was kidnapped. When our food did arrive it was ice cold. Overall, I did not enjoy my Cafeteria experience and i would not come back.

Wish I could give it 3.5. However, nothing bad! But almost needn't be a table service for what they serve. Sandwiches were pretty good. I had the Cubano. So were side salad and fries. Not sure if I would go there to eat the entrees. Salads and soups also looked pretty good.

I made a reservation on OpenTable for a large party of 12. Their phone was busy for 2 days so I stopped by. It's closed for renovations. Way to update your website, voice mail, or even put a note on your door. Never again will you get my business!

Food was good but I had one questionable issue. I ordered the pancakes which were not served with butter. By the time the server brought the butter the pancakes had cooled off, butter was 3 ice cold hard little cubes. Not easy for spreading.

I had brunch for lunch and ordered pancakes and sausage. The price was 14 bucks for a 3 stack and 2 sausage links. Water was free and included. Price is a bit high for what amounts to breakfast food, but it was good quality and filled me up. A small jar of personal syrup was also provided, but you'd probably need two for all three pancakes. The place has two bars and two levels, and several seatings. You might need reservations depending on when you arrive, but I was able to get a seat at the upstairs bar relatively easily. It was expensive, so its not really an all the time place to go, but it was okay for the money and I enjoyed what I had. Bar service was also good and he gave me all the water I could drink.

One of my all time favourite restaurants! I don't live in Boston, but get to visit once or twice a year and this is always my first stop. The food is fresh and varied. Their salads are among the best I have seen in a restaurant - I would highly recommend the one with fresh goat cheese and grilled chicken. The fare is somewhat expensive but 100% worth it if you're looking for incredible quality. I have not had a single negative experience with the food or service here and will absolutely be returning to eat again the next time I'm in Boston!

We always enjoy the food here. On cold nights you should sit upstairs to avoid the draft from the door. We had a problem with the server forgetting on of the entrees, but the manager took care of the problem quickly.

Ive been in this city for 10 years and that was honestly the worst dining experience ive had. Waiter throwing the food on the table, reply "oh so you drink a lot of coffee" when asked for a refill, yelling "hey you" across the table to take a drink order....just bad overall. Food was subpar, overpriced, and it feels like a hotel restaurant in a basement. Never making that mistake again.

Loved the meatball appetizers. Had the mac and cheese meal and was just as good. Coming from Atlanta and living in the city this atmosphere was perfect for me. I liked the vibe the place gave off. Its marathon weekend so of course the place was busy. I would most Deffinitly come back.

Enjoyed a more traditional version of a Greek salad based on cucumbers and tomatoes rather than a pile of iceberg lettuce. Salmon was cooked medium-well; appreciated it not being overdone.

The outdoor seating on Newbury street is definitely the highlight of Cafeteria Boston! I ordered the taco salad and it did not disappoint: filled with fresh veggies including lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, yuca, and avocado. The dressing was flavorful and not too heavy. There was also a large brunch and drink menu that looked good.

A good place for having lunch on Newbury Street. The food is well cooked and you can find a wide selection of dishes for all tastes. On weekends they have a brunch menu with a good selection of typical plates. Their French toast is delicious. Prices are good for the size and quality. Although making a reservation is recommended, waiting times are not too long. They have tables on the outside for spring and summer in one of the best locations of Boston.

Usually love this place but the past three times have gotten worse and worse ☹️ I called and made a reservation, but upon arrival only 30 minutes later they had no idea who I was... They ended up seating my group at a table missing a chair and a place setting... Then we sat for a good 15 minutes before we waved for a waiter. She didn't take our drink order and only offered water? A good 5 minutes later she came back with water and took the order. Food was great. After eating we waited another 10 minutes before waving for another person to get us the check. By the end of the night, we had been there for 40 minutes, with 3 different waiters and about 10-15 minutes of eating.

Ordered the cubano and it was excellent. Girl next to me at the bar wouldn't stop coughing uncontrollably directly at me. Not the restaurants fault but kinda ruined my meal. All in all great spot.

Okay place for brunch, restaurant is pretty cute. If it's warm outside, I definitely recommend the patio seating; however, it was cold when I visited so sadly, didn't get to do that. I came with a group of friends, and we made a reservation, so we got seated very quickly. We got truffle fries to share as an appetizer, super delicious! And I got the breakfast pizza, which was more like a flatbread with ham, arugula, and egg. It didn't really seem like there was any cheese on it? Pretty good, but I wouldn't say it was worth the price. I'd love to try some of their other items to try and change my mind.

Tried to have a Drink outside with my wife. We were rejected because (even when one third of the tables were free) that we need to have something to eat to have a table outside. So we moved along. A restaurant or Bistro which prefers to reject a customer instead of taking bis money do not deserve more Stars. I could understand this behavoir when all tables are reserved or used, but not when it's not even full.

I went here with a friend, and the food here is pretty good. The customer service was good as well, employees we had were nice and friendly. I can see myself coming back here again, and suggest trying it out if you are around. The food is reasonably priced and its definitely worth checking out. Theres a nice feel to this place.

My brother sat there for an hour waiting for me (whoops) and the staff couldn't have treated him better. Once I arrived, I was met with the same hospitality. Had the lamb burger and some cocktails and was blown away by their truffle fries. I definitely will be returning.

Great food and a cute atmosphere! I had a lovely brunch with my friend who has dietary restrictions, and the wait staff was very polite about her requests. Their iced coffee is delicious! They wouldn’t seat us outside at a free table in the shade because it had 4 seats, which was a little sad, but overall a great experience.

Too many small tables at the small outdoor space. Not functional and not comfortable. Food: I guess the they are trying to be creative with the food but not in a good way. Stay away from Fig Pizza not good at all. Dry as a shoe sole. Lamb Burger the meat was fine everything else not. Boston Cream Burger same thing weird taste. Fries: the worst I've ever seen! Waiter: self-centered, self-absorbed unhappy person who seem works there not by his will. Male version of 'I should be a princess but instead I have to work like Cinderella! So unfair...' I don't need that attitude. One thing after another added up to a regret I choose that place. There are so many other better choices few steps away.

I was at Cafetria at 7pm we were sat at the upper patio under a tree and the birds were all pooping all over us and I asked to be moved and the Manager on duty by the name of Marcelino said he can't do nothing for us. It was better for us to leave. Worst experience ever I will not be here again. After coming here so many times they are really unprofessional.

Walked over 30 mins to come here with a group of friends after the Patriots Super Bowl Parade. By the time we put our name in, the hostess informed us the wait would be approximately 30 minutes; however, our party was the first on the list to be seated. During our wait, we witnessed two parties larger than ours whom showed up after we did, get seated before us and given preferential treatment. After about an hour of waiting, the place slowed down and the manager finally called my name. When I informed him we decided not to eat there anymore, rather than expressing any kind of concern or ask why the change of heart, he shrugged and disregarded us as he had done the entire afternoon. Overall, a very unpleasant experience in which we felt unwanted and underappreciated, which was unfortunate considering our excitement to eat here specifically.

Came here for a party and I was really disappointed in the menu. Absolutely nothing for vegans, and barely anything for vegetarians- just salad and pricey veggie sides, which aren't suitable to be an entire meal for many. Even the fries have parmesan, which I've never heard of. The chef was able to make me a pretty good pasta dish after I spoke with the server. But having veggie options directly on the menu would just be so much easier and, frankly, would make vegans feel more welcome.

Came in yesterday around 5:00pm for late lunch with 2 friends and sat outside. The server and service were totally fine But we all got food poisoning. I had the pesto Alfredo pasta One of my friends had the salmon and the third person had some type of breaded chicken We are all super sick today and can’t stop going to the bathroom with diarrhea and stomach pains We all had different meals But we did share a cheese pizza and the calamari I really hope that you guys do a better job because I’m sure We’re not the only ones going through this I definitely don’t see myself ever going back after this nightmare experience

We were in town for the Boston Marathon and were trying to find a place for lunch on Sunday. Herell the bartender sat our group of 7 down at the bar and took care of us. Amazing service and always asked if we needed anything else. Great food and we all left satisfied!

The place looked nice, and from what I saw it was pretty clean. The staff were friendly and patient even though we were in the middle of the lunch rush. It wasn't bad food either, but I kind of expected the Cafeteria Burger to stand out. For the cost of the burger I could have gone down the street to Shake Shack and gotten a more memorable burger. I just felt for the price the burger should have been something at least above average.

First time at Cafeteria Boston Wonderful service. I ordered the truffle fries. Best fries I have had. My two friends had the salmon salad and the other had the hummus sandwich. All were great prices were pretty reasonable and atmosphere was great. Will eat here again for sure

Best Bloody Mary I've had in a while. Great terrace, but it was too hot and no shade so by the end we were cooking. Food was not great however; Caesar salad was boring and bland except for generous slivers of Parmesan. Truffle oil Parmesan fries were nice and crispy but flavours clashed Mediterranean pizza was not good. No sauce of any kind. Too much spinach.

A delicious cappuccino in a great location. The coffee shop is bright and airy and the colors on the table make it fun. The staff was warm and welcoming. I order a cappuccino wherever I go. No directions. I see what I get. This one was definitely top 20 caliber.

Just an FYI, this place is not kid friendly. No kids menu at all and no kids cups, etc. They don't even serve ranch for the fries.

In addition to exceptional service at lunch, we lucked into what might well be some of the best meatballs to be had anywhere (I can already hear the grumbling from my North End and Providence friends). Great salads and grass-fed burgers were also quite good. Outdoor patio seating was comfortable with ample shade.

Nice patio for brunch. Portions are definitely 'American sized' so come hungry or be prepared to share. Service was attentive without being overbearing.

Convenient breakfast and lunch spot right on Newbury in Boston. Didn’t need a reservation. Fries were crispy and cooked to perfection. Outdoor and indoor seating available. Only downside was that service was a little bit slow.

It does taste like Cafeteria food. Very disappointed, stopped here due to the reviews. My chicken was underdone, the pasta was dry and the actual restaurant is not clean. Not a fan.
