I had lunch at Bickford’s in Acton,MA yesterday afternoon. Barbara was my waitress. I have been spoiling myself with Lobster Rolls every chance I get because they will soon begone from the menu. I was very disappointed with the Lobster roll I had yesterday. It was overly full of mayonnaise. Truly excessive. It was as if someone threw some lobster meat in a bowl with lots of mayonnaise and a little chopped celery. That lunch cured me of wanting another lobster roll this year. The worst meal I’ve ever had at Bickford’s!! .

Warning! If you're a person of color, stay far far away from this place. I've never experienced such obvious racism before as I did at this diner. Not only were my fiancé and I greeted extremely rudely but we were also sat way in the back corner away from everyone else even though there were dozens of other open tables. The women working up front didn't even say a word. She just grabbed our menus and through them down at the table and walked away. At that point I felt so comfortable that I had to leave immediately. Hoping this will prevent any one else from feeling as humiliated as I felt.

Weekends there can be a wait.i called ahead they wouldnt let me put my name on waiting list ,I was by my self and was told there would be no wait if I was alone when I got there manager said sorry wait around 20 minutes. Food is fair, prices reasonably staff has always been pretty good.i got buffet this time around , but no toast white or wheat there was French toast with cinnamon, I'm sure if I ask they would have gotten for me. I just didnt feel like asking. Bacon is usually very good and cooked well and sausages are very good. Hope this helps.

My wife is from Woburn so every time I’m in the area I always make sure to pop in here as she’s raves about it so much. Great food, great service and just a classic. One of those places you think of as a staple. Check it out if you’re in the area, it’s kind of a like a high quality iHop.

Busy place, but still only a wait of 5 minutes. Drink orders taken quickly. Our waitress was super patient. She had to come back 4 times to get the order because my wife couldn't decide what she wanted. There is plenty of off street parking, so no problem there. Our breakfast meals were pretty good.

The food was just not good. Pancakes were grainy, home fries were undercooked, and the omelets tasted like they had been made with an egg mix and then microwaved. Not somewhere I would choose to go again if there were other options available. For what it's worth though, our waitress was SO great, very attentive and very kind. She is the reason I rated with two stars instead of one.

I'm not sure what the buzz is about. I've heard good things about this place so maybe they were having an off day today. The pancakes were very dry, and weren't sweet at all. Even with chocolate chips in them we weren't able to even finish a single pancake. The home fries are not fried, and have the consistency is more similar to roasted potatoes. They seemed like they were steamed or boiled, not baked as they weren't crunchy at all. The corned beef hash is the same stuff you get out of a can. They do absolutely nothing to change it, or make it their own. This might be a point if you like a traditional corned beef hash, but I like flavor. The coffee is great though, and my cup never ran empty, which always earns a restaurant brownie points.

this place is a new england classic. reminds me of my childhood, complete with waitresses who call you honey. Potato pancakes are delicious. This location also offers mimosas- not really something you'd expect from a Bickford's, but a great under-the-radar breakfast option.

For New Year's Day, we stopped here with some friends for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed our meal; no one went home hungry. There are plenty of menu options available for kids and adults alike. The server was friendly and courteous, the restaurant is clean and well-maintained, and there is PLENTY of parking.

Never trust anyone ever!! I ordered food from here and the food was colder than the lady who served it to me. I asked for a pouched egg. I want my yolk to be as runny as my daughters nose when she has a cold, but I guess pouched eggs are boiled to a crisp. The English muffin was stale like a millenials personality. And the rest was saltier than a I am about this food. Like excuse me, I thought I ordered food and not dog poop on a side walk on a sunny day. Grow up bickfords.

Cold meatballs and the saltiest lobster bisque in the history of the world. It's a shame because I think it could have been good if they didn't spill a pound of salt in the pot. I sent it back and they took it off my bill so perhaps I should give them 2 stars? But... I simply can NOT recommend that anyone go there...ever. Oh, did I mention the floor was really dirty?

The staff were very friendly when we arrived around 1pm on a Sunday. It was pretty full; they said it wasn't usually this full on the late side of Sunday brunch/ lunch. Maybe for this reason, service was very slow. We waited a very long time for our food to be served, and we noticed others who came in at the same time or slightly after us being served first. We didn't order anything very complicated or have a large party (2 adults, 2 kids). The food was for the most part fine, standard diner-type fare. The pumpkin pancakes were a highlight. But our daughter's buttermilk pancakes with blueberries had lots of raw spots, with uncooked batter running out. We did not realize this until the end of the meal, as our daughter did not understand what was wrong and tell us. Considering how long it took to get the food, there was no excuse for this. We won't be back. There are several other restaurants in the same complex, so if we are ever in the area again, we will try another one.

Mad props for being able to seat a large group on a late Sunday morning. Service was prompt and meals arrived quickly. I ordered a short stack of buttermilk pancakes, with a side of bacon. The bacon was perfectly chewy! I was a little disappointed with the pancakes however. They tasted rather "eggy". Like the consistency of a pancake, but the flavor of French toast. Not bad, but not what i was expecting.

Stopped by for take out, can't say much about the breakfast or staff though the hostess was nice enough. Had a tua melt which was good, nothing special. Fries were tasty. Clam chowder was pretty standard fare for the area. Lobster roll was almost great, lobster was very tasty and buttered roll was perfect. Onions I could take or leave, just too much mayo. You want to taste the lobster not the mayonnaise.

I would have given a 5* rating for the food. Lobster roll was great and inexpensive. Breakfast buffet was under $12, amazing price for the choice of food. I made the mistake to go to the ladies room before leaving. I almost threw up. It was so dirty and filthy. Made me wonder if the kitchen was as disgusting as the washrooms. On the bright side, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Owners need to pay more attention to cleaning.

Always go here when I am in the area - once a year. Really like the German pancakes, have learned to make them at home, but not quite as good as here. My wife likes the Big Apple. Both are great. Never had any problems with the food or service. These special pancakes are baked and take about 20 minutes to make, but they are worth it!

Our female server was rude n questioned our request for syrup even though we ordered French toast n pankcakes... was served burnt bacon, burnt mac n cheese n the wrong style of eggs ....our omelet was cold with un melted cheese ..pancakes were mostly chocolate chips..french toast was tasteless..our food was sent to the wrong table..server had the guts to tell me when she came back with syrup that I need to ask nicer . So than I go to the hostesses to get the manager...he wasnt happy n while the manager was at our table she had the ordacity to come over with a smug face n asked what is the bacon not right again???....upon check drop off she was like we took off the food given to another table n took 30% off it bill....worst server ...will never return or recommended this place 2 anyone

Not good. Went on a Sunday at 7:30 am and it was not busy (whish is great!) But the Service was slow and semi-rude. The food is mediocre at best. Bland omelette, under cooked home fries, and watery corned beef & hash. The only saving grace is the free coffee refills, but even then it took 15 minutes to get the next cup.

Been going here for years since I was a kid.. Recently moved outta state to NH, but was back in Woburn on business and immediately went here for breakfast because when you're from a Stoneham like I am, or Woburn or anywhere else nearby, that's where you go. Always good, always quick, and I hope it's there forever.

I've never had an issue with the food here before, but the last time I went was a whole new experience. The chocolate milk tasted like it had been diluted with soapy chemical water, the pickle was a very saturated neon green color which was not at all appealing to look at, and the grilled cheese was very very sub par. However, the service was quick (probably because I was one of the only people in the restaurant) and the waitress was friendly (one star for that). I will not be returning on account of receiving food poisoning from my final harrowing visit here.

Comfy family restaurant with good breakfasts. Friendly and attentive but unobtrusive service. There are only some healthy choices on the menu, but there's a nice little selection. The irish benedict (eggs benedict with corned beef hash instead of ham) remains one of our favorites. Good coffee too!

I guess Bickford's is a well regarded breakfast restaurant in the area. Recently they have ventured into serving dinner. We decided to give them a try for dinner. As they were located across the street from our hotel. When we arrived, we were greeted promptly and sat. We were sat in an empty section. The waitress got our drink order, water. We asked for recommendations, but none were offered. We both decided on the lobster rolls. We found these to be very bland. The bathroom could have been ckeaner.

Was definitely not ready for a party of 16 to walk through the doors at 9:30 -10pm. The food was ok. A couple orders were messed up, kids didn't get their drinks when everyone else did. One person in our party didn't get her food until almost everbody else was halfway through eating their dinner. Other wait staff didn't help our waitreas out. Should have known better when their was only a couple other patrons in the restaurant on a Saturday night.

My family came here as our first food stop back in MA. Super friendly atmosphere, lots of tasty food options, and great service! We ordered a mix of breakfast and lunch - eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, french toast, and Turkey Club with fries. All were delicious and definitely want to go back and try something else!

The breakfast here is second to none. Even though it was extremely busy on a Sunday morning, they seated people quickly. Three of us each ordered different items and we all were pleased. We will be back.

We came to get the buffet. The fruit was warm. The pancakes were like bricks. There was no scrambled eggs. We asked if they were going to bring more out. The waitress said yes. But they never did bring more out. Very disappointing

I love this place. Most of the staff is very friendly, and you can tell most of them have worked there for many years. I've seen the manager at every visit. He goes to all the tables to make conversation. They get you in and out quickly. Food is good and price is great.

The worst ever !!! Outdated atmosphere. The server had the cold or allergy .she was very forgetful or pretended to be .forgot my tea.for to pla ce an extra order of pancake. Service is extremely slow.please do something ..I still left a tip...but this review is another tip....Be more productive, professional, make sure your staff is healthy. Not the highest quality place, but the food is consistent. I come here for the Irish Benedict and nothing else. It doesn't disappoint. Other person in our party ordered the Big Apple and was unimpressed with its danish-like texture. Someone also got the breakfast buffet. He liked the sausage and eggs, but said the pancakes had a leftover burnt flavor from the griddle. The bacon was a bit weird, neither soft nor crunchy...yet not quite in between either. It was extremely greasy though. Our server was a bit ditzy. Not sure if he was having an off day, but he wasn't super attentive. Usually the servers are pretty on their game. The waits are never terrible and the hostesses are usually friendly.

Always a quality meal at reasonable prices. Gets pretty busy at peak breakfast time so plan ahead. They have some unique menu items that have become classic for my family. Servers and staff are always friendly and have a lot of experience so you always feel good when you walk out the door
