This Restaurant is classified in the category of Sports bar.
Beautiful view, creative setup and decent food.
Fine dive bar with a redeeming roof deck overlooking Fenway Park.
Lots of floors and different music on each floor.
Best place to get a beer before or after Sox games.
Great bar to hang out with friends and watch games! Known for being a Wisconsin bar and even if you are not a Wisco fan you will have fun! Popular stop on bar crawls as well!
Good value good food and great company worthy visit.
Great place to go before a Sox game.
Food okay. Service was fine. A bit noisy.
Great wings! Really friendly staff and a perfect location for before or after a Red Sox game!
Baseball-themed multistory spot. On a Tuesday afternoon in July, a perfect dark, cool spot to refresh and maybe watch some sports.
Great visit before and after a ballgame. Simple menu but great good and friendly staff rooftop patio is another great option with view of fenway. We came in wearing jays gear and were approached and welcome to boston. Love beer. Stop in large varity of different ales, lagers. Ipas
Out of the plethora of choices surrounding Fenway, this place has remained more consistent and appealing to your 25-35 crowd than any other joint on the block. Decent drink selection, nice crowd to chat with, and convenient to hopping elsewhere after a solid pregame.
Corporate outing here before catching a game at Fenway was a good time. Multiple floors allowed everyone to spread out.
It's a great place if you are into the Red Sox. In offseason it spends most of the day pretty slow but can get roudy on weekend nights. Go hear for sports on the TV, but go elsewhere for better food and drink.
Big crazy multi floor bar. This place is a lot of fun. Be prepared if you go here during st. pattys day. Last time they ran our of booze in the basement. They were taking stuff off the shelves.
Great burgers and cold beer!
They don't carry bottled water?!
Great place and great music
Good time, fast bar service even when busy.
Tried to go on a Sunday at 4:00 and they were closed?
Went here after a Red Sox game. It was packed! We went on the top (4th) floor and had blast, no one got carried away and everyone was having a good time. I highly recommend going there. oh, by the way, the pizza is delicious!
We were having a great time on the roof deck celebrating a birthday with friends. At closing time the staff, specificly the manager, was walking on the outdoor table tops broadcasting to patrons that the rooftop area was closing. Yes, dirty shoes from the restaurant manager walking on tables where customers eat and drink. I dont like eating my food or drinking my beer on a table top that employees walk on nightly to push patrons downstairs. Seems very wrong and the restaurant should respect the place that customers eat and drink!
The Baseball Tavern is a wonderful, traditional pub only 2 blocks from Fenway. I attended a meeting on their second floor or third floor and the service and food were great. Highly recommended for pub food or your next Meetup.
Bad food and rude owners. Worst combination. I would suggest to avoid and go somewhere else.
A great place to go before a game or a concert in Fenway
One of few bars in Boston with a roof deck. Always a blast for Red Sox game. You can also reserve the entire roof or the upstairs for parties! We had one of the best events there!
Great place to watch a baseball game, good food cheap beer, watched the 2018 World Series there and had a great time.
Great place to hang out and watch the Sox. Has like 4 floors and each has a bar!
Awesome bar in Boston. 4 levels, Lisa the bartender is the best in Boston. Great attitude and service and knows how to run a bar. Definitely go see Lisa. Jeff from St. Augustine FL
Below average food and the ladies restroom was disgusting.
Jack the bartender on the bottom floor would not serve us drinks. The fat guy with the beard. Apparently our money is not green enough. Never coming here again terrible Service for people being out of town.
They ended the night officially before midnight on the night of a game. Disappointing.
Amazing, gotta get a chilli double dauog... Or how ever it is my daughter Sarah Brown says it...lol
This place probably isn't that bad bc the rooftop seems pretty nice but I was here with my friends, went to clear the bill when the bartender gave me the wrong bill, he tried to pass it off as not his fault and then told me he fixed it and gave me the right bill (both around $80). I looked at my credit card statement the next day and he charged me for both bills. I called the restaurant twice, left a message and they never got back to me. I ended up having to get my credit card company to refute the charge. Huge hassle
The surreal roof-deck is perfect for Baseball games in summer; it has stadium lighting (cool!), a bar, and laid-back atmosphere (but, don't bother with the other floors). Reasonable prices.
The Tavern very accommodating for game watch parties. Bar staff was awesome, super helpful with the menu. Greek salad with burger was money. My first time there but immediately felt like it was my neighborhood bar--and now it is! And the fact Boston Spartans (Michigan State alumni) call it home? Valhalla..GO GREEN !!
Best Bar to have a few cocktails and something to eat before the game.
Terrible food and beer tastes bad
Went after Red Sox game. Very young crowd
Great attentive staff who were nice, polite, and made you feel at home!
What can't be said about relieving yourself at Baseball Tavern!? With cheap beers and sports galore, you'll find yourself visiting at least one of the 3 (YES, THREE!!!!) bathrooms that this establishment has to offer. Whether you trek down to the basement, the 2nd floor, or even the roof(!!!) you'll find many a set of porcelain thrones to darken. BT does a great job maximizing it's defecation/square foot ratio, leaving little to the imagination during a crowded bathroom session. For a busy spot like this, the cleanliness is top tier and I would highly recommend on taking the urinals for a spin!
Best bartenders around
Quintessential Boston bar. Friendly service from Shannon at the bar and all the games on the tube. Perfect place to hangout!
Fun bar and good beers.
Bouncer nearly killed a good friend back in april who is still recovering til this day in a rehabilitation center. He had a 5% chance of living and was in an enduced coma. Theyve been covering it up and show no sympathy to the family. This place is dirty, grundgy, terrible service and should be shut down!
I miss the original 12
Goood place..
Great place to watch the Badgers. Lovely burgers.
Good place to go before a game (food is just okay). Be sure to check out the roofdeck.
Great wings, try them Baseball Tavern style!
Our waitress was drunk. And she kept messing up our orders. Thank God it was only beers we ordered and not food.
If you are going to a Red Sox game with your buddies, this is the place.
Fun electric atmosphere
Favorite stop in Boston
Cheap food close to Fenway. Friendly staff. Didn't hit the roof because it was
Can it be crowded? Yes. Are the drinks overpriced? Yes. Is it a Fenway staple that locals go to before every game because of tradition and sheer force of will? Yes.
Great pleace
Great place to go to have a
Got the BBQ Burger and fries after a sox game. Burger was pretty good. Fries are not very good. Waitress was very friendly. Beer selection is poor.
Excellent pre-game spot
Bar staff was really great, they have $3 Budweisers. The food is okay. It is a good place to watch sports.
Unique spot with reasonable prices for beers so close to Fenway.
Lol $10 cover for an empty bar? Have fun Boston.
Is it fancy? Nope. Is it the best place to get a beer, cheap food before a game? Absolutely yes!!!! Many things change in the Fenway area, but this classic and very Boston pub is a must go for anyone that isn't afraid to get a real taste of the Boston strong.
Food ok, but everything else great...good sports bar with great bartenders.
Typical red sox bar BUT one twist. The friendliest bartender in Boston!
Great place to go with friends to eat or have some drinks
Love this place!
Great place to go before the Sox. Multiple floors including a roof deck that overlooks Fenway Park. Tends to be very crowded game days which makes the service suffer. Otherwise a great place to go before, after or during a game.
Best bar in the world
Food is good but nothing special. Nice terrace, tough.
Best bar around Fenway...had beers with Jimmy the owner, great experience. Definitely coming back from KC again.
The bartender downstairs, the one wit the beard very unprofessional. He would not serve me but serves another crowd of people. I asked him what is the issue and he says he is only serving them because they are his friends he apparently does not want to make money. Poor business, poor service never coming back here again, what a huge disappointment. Fire the guy please.
I always love going on the rooftops in the evenings. For Sox games, it's a treat to watch it on game days with the view of Fenway Stadium right in the distance. On other days, it's beautiful to watch the sunset and have a refreshing beer on a warm summer evening. I would highly recommend this place. The food is pretty good as well, though it (as expected) can sometimes get a bit noisy.
Great bartender. Below average wings that lacked sauce. Absolutely disgusting restroom.
Wonderful place and can't wait to visit again! Go to the roof to see the scoreboard at Fenway!
From hostess too the waitress's they make you feel welcome and great service
Drinks are good price for being in the city and food is typical bar food, wings were good. The bartenders are friendly. Couldn’t ask for much more before a Red Sox game!
Great place.
Really convenient location to my apartment and for pregamming Sox games but the staff in the basement were awful. We had an alumni event for my University, the place wasn't very busy but the "manager" and staff made a point to be unfriendly, irritated, and ignored us. Unfortunately they perpetuate the unfriendly Bostonian stigma towards "outsiders". I highly recommend spending your money elsewhere, plenty of better bars to pregame during the Sox season.
Blonde waitress is mean.
The roof bar is in bad location because the view is bad and the wind is worse than most roof bars I've visited. The drinks seem standard but they were really rude when I asked to get some water. They had an empty water dispenser so fill it up if you're going to insult your customers for asking. There are better bars in Fenway. Try Beer works or Bleacher bar.
Decent food, decent price. You can see Fenway Park from the roof deck.
I was racially discriminated against. The bar tender would not serve me due to the fact that I was a Japanese woman. Horrible service, and I’m very disappointed.
I don't know why google has them at 1 dollar sign, liquor starts at $7.50 a drink. Bro crowd.
drunkometer downstairs, see if you can get the high score
Great Fenway Bar
Good rooftop
Huge variety of Beers on Tap, from National Brands to local craft brews
Nothing really special here unless you happen to be a Red Sox fan! The beers and other drinks are only average at best, the food is probably somewhere below average. But ask any Red Sox fan what they think and they will tell you that this is the place to go for opening day at Fenway. Hang out on the roof deck if you get there early enough.
So rude
One of my favorite Fenway bars! It's a bit gritty but it's a timeless fave. Go up to the rooftop bar and straight over to Fenway Park! ⚾️
Having never been here during a peak time, I always find this place grim. Its a dive bar, so you kind of know what to expect. The staff is friendly and fast. Its not a place to get something complicated drink wise, but taps are clean and cold.
Great place to stop by before a game at Fenway, but if you're gonna try to go by after a game, good luck. The wait is a long one, but it's a good place with good food and beers.
Low-cost beers and cocktails before the game are stellar. There's a rooftop area, but I think it's kinda pointless. Absolutely no special view from the top.
Was there for a Cornhole tournament. Good time
The burger is amazing. Two patties, cheese and a great bun. Handcut fries that are perfectly crispy! Great food. The service pretty spot on....once they get to you. There seems to be little sense of urgency but they are very friendly and answer any requests professionally. Guess when you have a huge line you don't have to worry about being fast. Maybe try it during the week, not on a weekend.
Best bar in the Fenway area.
Busy place, good for a quick beer but unremarkable.
You can see the field without buying a ticket, which is really neat. The men's bathroom has a window above the urinal to overlook the bar, kinda creepy but also kinda cool. They don't want you taking pictures, because of MLB policy. Food is actually really good. Overall great option to watch the Red Sox without going into Fenway.
New location to me 3 floors and roof deck great time
If you're a south Louisiana resident and an LSU fan you have got to go to the baseball Tavern because that is the home field of LSU in Boston Massachusetts
Wonderful place!
Awesome place. 3rd floor is dedicated to MSU sports. So cool.
Came for paint nite. Pizza was just ok. I had a Sam Adams Hopscape that was disgusting, and I had had several great pours of it at other establishments. Pretty sure their draft lines were not clean. Only ordered cans after that.
Came for a beer pong tournament, right across from Fenway
Always fun to visit for a beer on game day. It's pretty empty on other days. Expect the usual dive bar suspects for beer and mixed drinks.
I have been to baseball tavern roughly 15 times. They have a nice roof deck and it can be really fun in the summer months. Sadly, some of the staff are deplorable. In my last visit roughly a year ago I had a horrible experience which has kept me from ever wanting to return. I was participating in a cornhole tournament and having a great time with some friends. The roof deck closed and I proceeded to head to the main bar downstairs. After I realized I had forgotten to close my tab/get my debit card from the roof deck bar so I went back to get it. The bar tender was busily closing out the register and sternly informed me they were closed (a little rude but, hey, everyone has a bad day). I told him I had forgotten to close my tab and needed my debit card. He didn't even fix me the courtesy of pretending to look. He remained seated and again said they were closed and he didn't have my card. This posed a problem for me. Either he was wrong and did have my card or he was right and had returned it to the wrong customer. I did what anyone would do in this situation and I asked him to take a look and make sure he did not have my card. He flatly refused to double check. I was admittedly drunk- which did not help the ensuing situation but I am certain that, had I been sober, I would not have accepted his dismissive attitude. I got agitated and demanded that he look. He refused again and told me to leave. I am not an aggressive drunk. I have never been in a fight. I flipped him the bird like fifty times with each hand as I walked backwards towards the stairs while hurling obscenities at him. Then a bouncer materializes out of thin air. A big fat bald dude...an unfortunate looking fellow... I would guess he's never been laid by any chick over a 3 or a 4. Bouncer bro gets hit with a least ten stray middle fingers (remember I'm flipping the bird rapid fire with both hands like ten per second so my accuracy was maybe a bit off). Dude must hate to get flipped off cuz he goes ballistic and starts charging me from across the room like a raging bull. Now, I'm the youngest of 5 older brothers. I love getting a rise out of people and this guy is really putting on a show. I can't control my laughter as I turn and bolt down the stairs like Speedy Gonzales (legit jumped down the entire stair way and it's a long stairway). Bouncer bro is in full pursuit and thunders down the stairs like the Koolaid man. Now we're in the main bar where all my friends are drinking. This went from funny to hilarious. I've got a good lead on him and I'm all the way across the bar and there are tables and chairs between us. He continues his pursuit and I start flipping the chairs to the floor behind me to slow his roll. I made it two full laps around the bar and almost finished my third before some vigilante stops me. Bouncer bro crosses the line at this point and actually, I'm mean really truly starts to strangle me. Both hands around my neck like a murderous psychopath. No lie it hurt to swallow for several days. Dude gets pulled off me and you can see in his face he knows he's gone too far. My friends and I leave after exchanging words with the bouncer bro. The next morning I look at my debit card statement and see $300 charged to my card. That's why they get 1 star.
Great place to get a beer early before the game. KENO too!
Great atmosphere by Fenway Park. Pretty good wings as well!
Service was great
I was kind of shocked how belittling the manager and his other staff members were. We were down on the bottom floor before going to the Sox game and it was surprisingly not overly busy at all. We went up to the bar to pay for our food then asked the manager and bartender about Boston and their restaurant, and I felt really disrespected by their quickness to leave the conversation... then they made it obvious that they were making fun of us. I felt like I went back 10 years to freshman year of high school... I won't be going back to support business done like that... Very disappointed that the experience ended that way. To mention food, the Caesar salad was a big portion which was awesome, but be sure to get the dressing on the side bc my salad was drenched and pretty soggy. The chicken tenders were yummy but hilariously they didn't bring out the ones we ordered... We didn't mention it to them and just ate what they brought us. And, I only had water as my beverage and it tasted like soda or juice was in it... Probably shared taps... Overall, don't expect too much when coming here.
Multi-layered dive with good TVs and a roof deck.
Enjoyable paint night
One of the best bars in the city, good rooftop
Great bar in a great location. Food was plentiful and delicious. Our server was very friendly. Highly recommended this place.
The best service we have had so far in the city! We sat on the rooftop before the Sox game on Friday. Food, drinks, service and live music was awesome! Had a blast! Definitely recommend checking this place out!
Great atmosphere, the bar tenders tend very well to their customers; even on a game day when it's completely packed.
Great outside atmosphere.
4 stars in the context of an after game dive. Expect over enthused early drinking age antics and go in with some patience.
Fun place.
Old school dive bar. Exactly what you want.
Great local sports bar
Cheap beer but run down
We pregamed here before heading to Fenway. Food was really good. They had lots of space. Two levels with a rooftop bar too.
Place and bouncers nearly killed a guy here and tried to cover it up. Place should be shut down
Great service. Easy to get a beer despite it being packed.
Ok
Rudest staff member I've ever encountered in my life was here. I believe he may have been intoxicated on the job, and got up in my face for asking a simple question. I contacted the establishment later in an attempt to speak with the owner/manager about it, and they never responded. There are many wonderful restaurants and bars in Boston, so I emphatically suggest you avoid this one.
One of the best places to catch a college football game. The bartenders are laid back. Skip the high-strung self important bozos at Game On and check this place out.
Fenway, my way!!
Basic food and drinks, but good location and nice staff.
Beer's cold, floors are sticky
Great place to watch any game, friendly barkeeps, and one of the first bars in Boston to bring back Narragansett!
Great place to have drinks and pub fare before catching a Red Sox game... Plenty of tvs to watch sports and great and very friendly staff.
Great roof deck and prices are not horrible for area.
The tables and floors were sticky. Sodas were flat, food was over priced for what we got. My friend's grilled cheese and fries were cold. Chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks were okay. My other friend asked for steak tips and they said they didn't have any so she was left with a burger she didnt like enough to eat the whole thing. And if you're here on a Friday night drinking your heart out of course the food is gonna taste good. Overall dont go here unless you're going to drink.
Gets busy in baseball season but the roof deck is a great place to get a beer in the summer. Gets a crowd for any game from baseball to soccer.
Bartenders and “Owner” are extremely rude. But that seems to be the theme in these reviews.
Great atmosphere and the chicken tenders are very enjoyable.
Lots of space on each of the 4 floors. The rooftop is a nice touch but they do put a limit on how many people can be up there. They on have one toilet in the rooftop and if you go downstairs to use the bathroom , if there are people waiting to go to the rooftop you will have to wait in line. On a nice day its gonna be crowded. Good prices in beer and food. Located a block from Fenway.
Good bar close to Fenway. Not much else needs to be said.
Great place for food and beers before game or other things
Fun place after the game!
Poor service, high prices, terrible beer.
Not the original, but pretty fun. Great location.
Pretty grungy and dirty bar. I went here for a party and got E. Coli. Reported it to the staff the next day and never heard anything back. Would not recommend eating the food.
The rooftop bar is nice, good view of Fenway
Cheap drinks and good music. 4 floors plus a roof deck offer plenty of room and options to patrons.
This bar is awesome...but I am too old for it after a Red Sox game. If.i was 15 years younger I'd do it after a game. Alas, looks like this will be an afternoon spot for me.
How can you not be a sox fan while in Boston? Such a cool place. Friendly people, great prices.
Multi level with roofdeck. Great for watching sports
Great place to get some drinks and grub before the game!!!
Great view of Fenway from the roof top! TVs everywhere and the beer was cold!
Awesome spot!
Incredible gameday bar! I absolutely loved every minute of being here. The rooftop before a Sox/Yankees game is something special. Best bar in the neighborhood hands down.
Nice game day atmosphere. My veggie burger was average but that’s probably to be expected at a tavern style place.
