First the food was great...but the service was NOT up to the standards demanded by the price of the food. The medium rare steak was delivered medium well, fine mistakes happen, but at $49 a plate you go out of your way to make up for them. The second steak was delivered and no one bothered to see if this one was cooked correctly (it wasn't) they erred on the side of under cooked. There was no offer of a free drink or discount since we had to enjoy our meals separately. The waiter basically ignored us and spent time talking to the hostess. When mistakes are made be sure to over compensate. It took longer to get the check than it did to have dinner. Bummer, because the food was great.

AS is my FAVORITE restaurant on the island. Service and food are consistently fabulous. Portions are enough for two to share, which makes for a great self-directed tasting menu! They also offer some half-bottle format wines, which is a lovely option. I could go on and on, however, make your reservation and enjoy for yourself!

the only way I can describe it, "UNBELIEVABLE ". If you eat out, you have to go here. Great restaurants throughout the island. But, Chef Ferguson, brings simple american food to a whole new level. A must. for your taste buds.

To start off the food was good. On the other hand, our server was awful. His fake accent and lack of knowledge about the food and wine was surprising to me - having read about the chef prior to going I expected more. Thankfully the sommelier semi took over changing the experience. This is my second Google review in years, and I am not sure I will be dining at this restaurant again.

Delicious meal, based on fresh ingredients especially great seafood, fun cocktails (as fans of Depeche Mode we particularly like The Pêche Mode!), and excellent service. Yes, it's pricey, but this is Nantucket and American Seasons is a worthy landmark on the island. Highly recommended.

My experience: focus on beautiful presentation, while my appetiser was disappointingly bland and the pork in my pork shoulder entree was dried out rather than juicy and moist and almost totally without flavor. Too bad because the setting.is romantic and service gracious and friendly.

If you are on an extreme diet or a true gourmet critic or if you don’t mind using your phone to translate what’s on the menu—then eat here! We were floored by the prices and the extremely small servings for the price. I ordered a vegetarian entree, and I literally got five small pieces of vegetables. Even by Nantucket standards, the portions that you get are very small and the quality of the food was only decent. Also, the atmosphere was very noisy, even though we ate at 9:00 on a Saturday night. We felt we were being judged by our waiter who seemed to expect each of us to order an appetizer, since he asked each and every one of us if we wanted one. We would have ordered appetizers if we wanted any. Would not recommend this place if you are looking for a delicious and hearty meal.

This place was great. Went there on stroll and they were able to fit us in early. The atmosphere was warm and the food was delicious. Even though it was busy the service was smooth and it wasn't too loud inside. We'll definitely be back.

Exceptional experience. Unique plates, carefully created with expertly-married and coupled textures and flavors. Wonderful service by Chris. He knew the menu inside and out, and shared preparation methods and his enthusiasm for the dishes. Thumbs up, 5 stars, and not absorbenently priced. Also great drink selection with unique liquors and bar concoctions. Loved it!

To look at the artfully designed entrees at American Seasons, you might assume that you are about to eat a simple dish of soup or protein and vegetables, but you will quickly, pleasantly discover that you are mistaken. I have never had a meal anywhere like the pure delight I experienced at this restaurant. Every bite was a surprise as the flavors kept changing with the addition of sauces, pesto and puree cleverly arranged around the meal. Truly worth its weight in gold!

American Seasons has a very consistently, great menu. We had our rehearsal dinner on the garden patio (under different ownership) 2 years ago and the setting is beautiful. We've been back a few times with the new owners and it does not disappoint. The bar is also great to pop in for a drink and a snack or full meal.

I love coming here for the warm, romantic environment with friends or my husband, and for the food which is creative and delicious.

We have been coming to American Seasons for 19 years. We have always had a great meal. It can be a little loud and dimly lit, but the food has always been great. Until recently... I went to dinner here the other night and had a terrible meal. Only time I have ever been disappointed. The beef was stringy and tough, the veggies over-cooked. Sorry to see they have moved so far from what made them great. They need to return to simple, fresh flavors.

Food was good, but service was terrible. We had a server named Larry, who was very inattentive, especially after we decided to not have an appetizer with our meals. He seemed confused. He never checked in on us, and never did the basics for us, such as give us bread or tell us the specials. We waited 30 minutes just to place our orders, while he had no problem attending other tables. When we asked for separate checks, he was confused again and gave one of our members incorrect change. Despite many good experiences in the past, this one was bad enough that we won't be returning.

Food was excellent but service was horrible. We had a table for ten and the waiter - Larry - had a chip on his shoulder. We felt rushed all night and he would mumble under his breath if we asked him a question.

It doesn't get much better. The service was timely, polite, and doting, the food was outstanding, and the setting intimate and comfortable. We had the duck and the venison, with appetizers of scallops, butternut squash "caramelle," and roasted cauliflower soup -- all of it amazing. Great cocktail assortment, and a wonderful wine. Truly a "must do" on the island.
