This place is a hit or miss depending on who’s the cooks for that day. I brought food tonight (3/12/19) at 7:30 pm and the rice and peas are horrible. The rice was cooked with too much water and there no taste. The rice is soggy. I’m a rice person so I also purchase a side order of rice to go with my plate. Bad move. This was a waste of $15.00 and my lunch break.

Wonderful place. Friendly staff serves delicious food. Rotisserie chicken is beautifully overdone and seasoned with some mysterious Dominican style seasoning. We always get the same thing - the bird, yucca and red onion, tostones, and fried whole plantain. (PS, I never give 5 stars, just not into hyperbole)

I been a customer since Alex chimis. Started serving people during soft ball games on Columbus st Boston ma.. flavor and consistency has always been there. No one does it like Alex, some of the best traditional food from the culture of the Dominican republic. Definitely worth trying.

Great simple food, fast and cheap. I live down the street and can smell the chickens roasting all day and that's NOT a complaint. If you want take-out, and have 10 bucks, this is your dream. The only knock on them is they constantly run out of food and it's hard to predict when its gonna happen.

Alex's chimis is a special place. This place is an awesome little strore with good, greasy food with portions that will be enough for 3 meals. Their chicharonnes is especially popular and so damn crunchy. I come here for a quick dinner for my wife and I and it always is satisfying. Only thing is it can be really heavy, but you just know that coming in so it's fine. Keep up the great work!

Quick eats Bonanza. Like Dominican food? They have you covered. Fried green plantains, fried sweet potato, rice and peas, Caribbean chinese rice, pork rinds, pig ears (yes, they have em), rotisserie chicken, fried chicken, Chimichurri sandwich (Dominican burger), and I am going to stop there. All good, believe me. Also they have shakes, and Flan too.

This spot is above average for Dominican-inspired food. Selection can be limited when compared to other Latino food spots. Personally, I prefer Dominican food from Lawrence, Mass. Alex's is best to buy when there is a lot of foot traffic inside as you will be assured that the food is hot n fresh.

Great food! Small space. They speak English and Spanish. You can order off the menu, or build your own plate by picking from pre cooked food in a clear casing. They also have the purple pickled onions which I love, and give you a good amount. Some places give you two- three pieces of onion, they give you a whole tong full.
