Picked a bad day to go to the Towson Tavern the Towson Town Fair was in full Glory cars everywhere. But be sure the valet parking is a great idea. Host and hostess very friendly and I did enjoy the giant booth just for two people. Adequate wine list and it's spectacular beer list. Menu is quiet American but very well done, presentation extremely well prepared. But they were very a little short-handed with the servers. I will definitely return in the near future. I opted for a cup of The cream of crab insead of a salad perhaps The most near perfection CoC soup ever. I also ogled the beet salad and as opted for by my dinner companion . That the impressive jewel on the salad menu .The Cioppino I had and the scallops and shrimp on risotto for my companion we're both dramatic we were both members of the "ciean plate club" would have been a fivestar if the server/waitperson was up to par. The Hosts did a good job of filling in

Towson Tavern is a solid option for seasonal faire in the downtown Towson area. It caters to a more upscale clientele and the prices reflect this. It's nice to have an option that caters to a different crowd, but it can still get quite noisy.

Towson Tavern is always a great sport with a local feel to it. The food is very tasty and have a unique vibe about it for the price that you pay. I tried the chef's selection (Pork Bolognese) and it was amazing. The place is clean, well decorated, wheelchair accessible, and the service is impeccable.

Excellent restaurant! I'm not much of a seafood person, but the food was amazing. May seem expensive, but definitely the price you pay for this service. I highly recommend trying the "Kitchen Sink Sundae." Seems weird with the popcorn on it, but it was hands down the best desert I've ever had! If I'm ever in the area again, I will come back for seconds!

My friend suggested we eat here rather than Atwaters since it was easier to carry on a conversation and seating was more spacious. She got the beet salad and enjoyed it to the last bite. I know I should have been more adventurous, but the shrimp wrap sounded too good to pass up with a side of fries. Service was tight, we lingered longer than we should have, but no one rushed us. This place is waaay classier than exterior would lead you to believe. If you are looking for a step above, but not a $$ above in Towson, this place should be on your list.

The menu has a nice selection of offerings and drinks. The inside is reminiscent of an old early 20th century bar/restaurant. The service is amazing and we never ran out of drinks or had to wait for any refills. Cozy atmosphere and very friendly staff.

Lunchtime visit - service was prompt and friendly. Food came fairly quickly, got cheeseburger and bacon cheeseburger flavor was avg to good though ordered medium an was well done beer selection was good and was refilled promptly when needed. I’ll go there again and recommend it. If I could give 4.5 I would have.

Good drinks the french toast seemed liked burnt wonder bread and was raw in the middle. Not worth it at all paid $16 for that with burnt sausage and eggs. But mimosas were good.

The salad I had was great, however as I just finished eating, I look to my right and I see a mouse scurrying across the floor. I thought at first that it was just one mouse but it's two little friends joined in, and we now had three mice running back and forth between the booths. I was utterly disgusted and wanted to throw all of my food up. What made it worse is that we told the server and bartender and they both said "we know, but we just work here" and the bartender went further to say that "at least it's not a rat, I have worked at places with rats before." This was absolutely appalling, and not at any point did they offer to make any concessions or anything. Nice layout of the restaurant. but unfortunately I will never patronize this establishment again.

Came here for a quick bite. Nice place for a date. We came during lunch time so we only saw the lunch menu. Lunch menu is mostly sandwiches and salads. Our food was very good. I recommend the Tavern burger and I loved the tater tots. The restaurant is near a movie theater (walking distance) and the Towson Mall. I recommend checking this place out. The service also was excellent. Very friendly staff.

Fantastic save to a night almost ruined by Cafe Troia. After getting stiffed at Cafe Troia and waiting over 30 mins for our reservation that never happened, we still had to pay the valet. Not his fault. We walked up to the Towson Tavern and were seated in mins. Great food and great staff. Saved the day and we'll be back.

I’m obviously Erika Sneeringer’s husband. I have to say that what occurred in the Towson Tavern was one of the craziest moments I’ve experienced in a restaurant. Like my wife, who I met working in restaurants, I’ve worked in a lot of restaurants and managed a few. The first thing you learn in customer service is the power of an apology. The waiter actually picked up the beer and took a sip at our table to prove he was right. He stood at the table for a long time in a threatening manner demanding my wife drink the beers side by side despite several requests to step away. We were there with a friend. It took a lot of power in me not to have words with the waiter. We did indeed ask to see the manager but he was never gotten. He never walked by again either. I wasn’t about to go looking for him when I left. The server did free out our meal. It will be the last meal I ever have in the Towson Tavern though. As a lifelong advocate of Towson and the real local stuff there, I will be sure to give my honest opinion of the Towson Tavern to anyone that asks.

The Towson Tavern is so good. We often go and enjoy the burgers! Each one is taken up a notch by the unique toppings and flavors. The beer list is awesome including many local favorites and some classics like my personal favorite Chimay Blue. A wonderful place for a date night and fancy dinner out.

This was an amazing place. The crab cakes were so good. I have never had crab cakes that were so good anywhere. I had the Red Snapper, it was perfect. The food was hot and prepared to perfection. The service was really good and a nice atmosphere.

Tonight was my first visit to the Towson Tavern, and it did not disappoint! The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The service was attentive and not overbearing. The Chef visited our table, as did the Manager and that was very much appreciated. My only cons: the grilled bread was a bit charred and they were out of one of the 4 dessert offerings (of course that was what I wanted). I highly recommend this dining spot and suggest weeknights, as they seem to be less busy. Parking is easy if you continue around the circle, exit on Joppa, take the first right onto Deleware, proceed to the first intersection and park in the lot to your right. This is almost directly behind the restaurant. They also have free valet some evenings.

The aesthetic of the restaurant is beautiful!! Food came out in a timely fashion but it was very plain.. also one of us needed dressing and we had to wait almost 15 minutes until our waiter came to check back with us. Horrible service from that waiter. But i got the crabcake, it was kind of dry though and didn’t really taste at all like crab until i put the orange sauce on it lol

I'm going to keep trying to give this place a chance but I keep getting a very underwhelming experience. The atmosphere is great. Love the feel of this place but the food is mediocre. "A+" for effort. "B-" for execution The calamari was 70% breading and it was more like popcorn shrimp than calamari and it made it to the table in three minutes which means it was reheated an no where near fresh. I got the braised short rib. The portion of the meat was what you would expect but the amount of mashed potatoes under it and the sauce on top of it were on the shy side. My mother ordered the lobster carbonara. Portion was small and the dish was flavorless. Ultimately, this was a $80 meal I wouldn't have spent $50 on. Valet parking is free which is a plus in Towson.

Went here for lunch because of the ‘farm to table’ aspect. We had sandwiches and fries. Food was good - tasty and hefty serving sizes...which is what we were seeking! Service was impeccable; previous reviews saying otherwise must have met a v sour employee.

Great place to eat in downtown Towson. Cheeseburger was a bit dry but okay. Tater tots appetizer is great and nothing can beat wedge salad with grilled chicken. We went there looking for lunch on the way back from Towson University. Definitely worth checking out if you are a short term visitor.

You wouldn't know it by name, but this restaurant is the biggest supporter of local farms and farm to table dining in Towson. They buy shares from Chesapeake farm to table, which is where the local farmers drop off their food. My mother is one of those farmers, and she recommended this place because while other restaurants buy "sympathy shares", a crate or two, Towson Tavern buys stacks of crates of food from local farmers multiple times a week. And it checks out, the food was absolutely delicious.
