This Restaurant corresponds to the category of French restaurant.
This place was absolutely spectacular! From the charming and picturesque inside, to the impeccable service and the outstanding food, we were sincerely blown away. Our server Kam spoiled us too and went out of his way to make our dining experience one of the best we’ve ever had and we’ve had our share of fine dining throughout the county. The chef seems very inventive with his menu and it is very classic French. The sauces brought out so much flavor to each dish and didn’t overwhelm the actual main course. Everything paired perfectly and each wine selected for us was outstanding. We are going to make it a point to come here once a month. Thanks again for an unforgettable experience!
Delicious food, amazing service, romantic ambience
Tersiguel's has reliably delicious and authentic French country cuisine, which I really came to adore while living in France. The tastes and flavors use herbs and spices, not artificial flavors, so people who are accustomed to TGIF type food may find this sort of authentic food a bit different. I have never had a bad meal during our more than ten years of frequenting the restaurant. The staff is great as they are long-timers who know the food well and provide old fashioned service (they don't hover and pester you, but provide timely and attentive service, a winning combination). They use in-season local produce and organic eggs from chickens that run around in a garden. Highly recommend the omlettes, fish soup, and whatever dish special is available.
Good food, though overpriced. Nice decor. But our waitress was one of those condescending people who are somehow inexplicably in the service industry. Made everyone feel uncomfortable because one of our party used a table knife instead of the butter knife. Was put out because someone asked for ketchup with a french omelet. Real French waiters aren't even this arrogant. However, everyone else's waiter seemed very friendly.
Awesome!!!!!!!!
Excellent Food and Service
Very romantic! Food was nothing like I ever had! Wine selection is great! Friendly environment.
Amazing food. But Charlie made our day! Worth going there 100% (Fyi, you should expect spending some $$$)
We had an amazing dinner there.
We go here every wedding anniversary. Love it! Great place to splurge.
Wonderful cuisine! Staff was courteous and attentive--not overbearing in the least. Most diners seemed to be local and familiar with the staff, but we didn't feel out of place at all. Fine food in a casual, comfortable dining room.
Perfect in every way! Wonderful Thanksgiving dinner.
Great gourmet food with friendly service in a beautiful building.
Expensive (duh, fancy French place) and Slow service.
Great food not so amazing service
Great experience
Cream of the crop for french cuisine in Baltimore dc area
SPLENDID food. Wow, couldn't be tastier. Excellent service. I come here every year for my birthday.
Great food! It is expensive -- come during restaurant week to get a three course meal for less. Or -- go to Costco and snag gift cards ($80 for $100 in gift cards). Make a reservation!
outstanding in every way.
Attention to details and customer satisfaction. Food Art. Pate is OMG. Pork chops from local Mt Airy Farm are Fantastic as well as Yumalicous. Top notch service. Great wine selections. A Romantic Atomsphere.
Service is fantastic and the food is well prepared. Menu items are prepared traditionally, which means people with dietary issues are quite limited. The building is a bit tight to navigate through, as it is a very old home converted into a restaurant - which is part of the charm.
The food is very good. I especially like the seafood dishes. The maitre d and waiters are just great, an essential part of the experience. Anyone who eats there without having a little chat with one of them is missing out.
One of my favorite restaurants. I only usually make it down on special occasions, considering it's a bit of a hike from my house, but it is always well worth it. The food is excellent and Charles is one of the best, most unforgettable waiters I have ever had.
We went for Brunch, the food was really good and the staff was really friendly. The place is very cozy and you can enjoy every bite in a nice environment
Fabulous food, wine, and service, as always!
This place is the real deal. The guys in the kitchen know they're stuff, true masters! Met Charlie at the front door and he took care of everything. Dress to impress here, folks, and don't think great food is cheap either. $$$ but worth it for the foie gras!!
The food was average. We had the days special of haddock and I would say the sauce was unremarkable! A good filet mignon but the mash potatoes tasted like old potatoes. However, the special appetizer of beets was outstanding and the pound cake dessert was quite delicious!
Disappointed: The Chef's Tasting Special was not as good as it could have been and definitely not worth the cost. IMO it is a “rip off”! 1. Bread was COLD hard crusted French Bread * Expected bead served to be easy to tear and warmed 2. Pricing is absurdly high for what you get * Dinner for 2 with 20% tip was $300+ 3. After thinking about what we got and what was it costs....There is no sense of value to $$$....the food was not exceptional BUT the pricing was 2x plus what is should be for average. 4. Bathrooms were worn and tired and out of paper 5. The atmosphere was not elegant old French just old (at least in our room) We found the wait staff to be very, good! This was the only part of this experience that was enjoyable and fully EXCEEDED our expectations. My wife and I selected the Chef's Tasting Special . We were served 8 "Mini" courses, each being about a 1 ounce serving of liver pate, vegetables or fish. Presentation was gorgeous...taste was good but not "impressive". The main entree was beef Fillet Mignon BUT it was half the size it should have been at about 1.5 cubic inches….at $85 a person to start (not including any wines) this serving size was NOT acceptable! I was expecting to be impressed for $300 (for 2 people) like I was at the Antrim 1844 in Taneytown or Morton's downtown. Tersiguel's French Country Restaurant experience was a real disappointment.
Always fantastic meals and service here.
Great meal, phenomenal service. Best restaurant in old E.C.
Amazing place
An outstanding restaurant, and has been for over 20 years that I have known about it. Excellent food and service, and lovely dining areas.
I went to Tersiguel's during restaurant week with my family. It seems like the staff were in a frenzy when we came, which we tried to be understanding of but the tension spread to us. When we asked for a picture, our waitress seemed to rebut briskly that she would do it at the end, so we ended up asking another waiter. She did ask at the end if we still wanted the picture, which was nice of her to remember. She also seemed to scold another young waiter a lot, which made us slightly uncomfortable. Otherwise, a really nice setting in a historic location. The food was delicious. Most of us are escargot, which were garlicky and buttery and just melted in your mouth. For the main course, half of us had the salmon, which was really good, and the other half duck with ratatouille. Everything was juicy, well prepared, and vegetables seemed fresh. The waitress also said there were oysters that were freshly harvest on Thursday morning. We had dinner on Saturday. For us, as people who live in cities near harbors, it was slightly horrifying, although I guess as expected for a place as inland as Ellicott City. Apparently the salmon was farmed and imported from Scotland? It was delicious food, but considering the prices and how my family was pretty uncomfortable with the atmosphere, we're probably not coming back.
Delicious food served by a friendly staff. They offer fun events such as family nights. Make sure to visit this restaurant!
It was delicious! We went on family night. We set and ate "family style". So much fun. Met new people and Chef came to each table. He was so warm and friendly he thanked each of us for coming. It was a cold and snowy night, we debated cancelling. So glad we didn't once inside it was so cozy and worth the trip!
We have dined here many times and every time it has been one amazing experience after another. The staff is always welcoming and accommodating. Charlie always remembers us and makes his guests feel at home. Tim and Pat treat us like family and always make our visits memorable and of course the food is always great.
Just stopped into the bar for a drink with friends. Great service.
The meal was great. Charlie is a superb server who is amazingly passionate about food and wine. I highly recommend Tersiguel's for a special experience.
Great food, great service. Glad they have reopened. Visited several times over the years and always excellent. Perfect for a special occasion or when you need to treat yourself.
Great service. Wait staff really friendly. And the food was magnificent.
Absolutely amazing!
Was fun for a special occasion.
Fine dining in beautiful Ellicot City. The atmosphere is refined, the service cordial and dutiful and the food outstanding. The rockfish and steaks were perfectly prepared. The wine list was good. Our only regret was no room for dessert. We also loved the shopping in nearby boutiques. Despite surviving two flash floods in 2 years, this is a quaint place to visit.
Treat yourself and don't look at menu....Just order tasting menu!!!! It's toe curling amazing!
One of the worst experiences ever! Will never come back and advice all friends and co-workers against it! I made a reservation for the party there to celebrate my son's birthday (not a huge party, just 7 people). Our "pleasant" experience (after we got seated) started with spotting a big fat cockroach happily sitting on the wall right next to my chair. It took literally -forever- to bring menu and serve the bread (was served only after we asked after 30 mins waiting), and mind you restaurant wasn't even full. Food was simply bad. And I mean that. And BTW, what you call "napoleon" is not a real napoleon I tried in number of places (including french restaurants in Montreal and NYC). The cut puff pastry with little bit of whipped cream inside is NOT a "napoleon" - you better come up with the different name. And the bill was just ridiculous given the quality and service! Never, never again!
Very friendly staff. Rock fish entre was superb. Highly recommend this place.
Definitely a special occasion kind of place, but the food and service are amazing.
Farm to table. Incredible French dining experience.
Beautiful French food, taste will rival the presentation. Staff is eager to keep patrons happy and know the menu. Only recommendation is to have a few more wine selections, however; the wine they do have is superb.
Wonderful food in a great location!
My family enjoyed the chef's tasting menu last night - 9 courses with 5 wines. An amazing experience - each course was a work of culinary artistry!
4.5 stars. We had a great fixed price 5 course valentine day dinner. Food was superb! Service was excellent.
The food and wine are to die for and the staff is absolutely stellar!
Back in business for dinner service. Smaller menu, better food. Highly recommended
Superb food exquisitely prepared and presented. Good wine selection. Amazing cocktails. Wait staff trained and professional provide excellent service. Lovely unhurried ambiance. Highly recommend.
Food and service is good. Portions are much smaller to other places and the price you pay. Also the bread they hand out is the worst. Not fresh. Almost like someone grabbed it on their way to work from Walmart.
This place has wonderful service as well as tasty menu. The best spot ever. The meals arrived quick and the prices were fair. Will definitely recommend this place.
Valentines dinner was awesome. We had reservations for 4 pm in the front window seat with my husband and daughters. It was a set menu and the food was great. Excellent service, they kept your drinks filled, lots of bread, food came out quick and happy servers. Highly recommended!
I have dined here on several occasions, the food is always superb; one of the best restaurants in Maryland. Tersiguel's also provided a spread of appetizers for my store's grand reopening and all of my customers and guests thoroughly enjoyed all of the offerings. Wishing the best to the family and team! 5-stars!
Perfect evening! The food was divine!
Amazing meal and great service.
Highest of quality ingredients. Wonderful atmosphere. All around gem.
Our new fave! It’s hard to do fine dining without being pretentious or stiff. THEY NAILED IT! We’ll be back to celebrate special occasions again. Ask for Ed. Best server we’ve had in the past 5 years.
Excellent food and very professional, courteous staff.
Hey Charlie! Thank you for the Pimms and the fantastic service! Truly a great experience! Fantastic food, great ambiance and the best service we have had in a long time!!!
Great food
We first dined at Tersiguel's twenty years ago and continued to visit for special occasions. We'll now never go back. This occasion was for my son's graduation with a party of nine. The server was ambivalent at best bordering on unfriendly and unattentive. We could live with that but the food was terrible. The cassoulet was over-cooked and dry and tasted like it had been sitting on the range all day. The lamb was one small chop and a few tiny medallions. The portion was more like a tappas plate for over $34 dollars. While Tersiguel's has always been a bit pricey, we've always felt the service and food quality reflected the value offered....no more. They need to revisit their overall management or lose more longtime customers like us.
Good food excellent service
Had a fantastic dinner. Everything was well made and tasted great
A great French restaurant! It never fails to deliver a wonderful meal. Have been eating here for 30 years. Richard
Excellent food which is very attentive wait staff. A true gem.
One of our go-to for special occasions. Can't wait to visit again post-flood!
Superb dining experience! Fabulous lunch! Actually, it is the holy grail of food preparation.
Superb food , service and ambiance. We will DEFINITELY be back!
Spectacular food and service to match.
Service, Food and Ambience is Everything - "TERSOGUEL'S is OUTSTANDING"
It is an amazing place for a classy date night. Great service and ambience. It is expensive but definitely worth it
My wife and I have done a fair number of date nights here. The food is top notch and prepared by a fantastic chef. If you have food allergies they will work with you and since everything is made from scratch you can be confident that there will not be any issues. The service is also fantastic, I cannot say enough good things about this olace.
Fantastic food, drinks, ambiance, and service.
Country decor. Good Service. decent and non intimidating wine list. A Good variety of classic plates. Food was savory with good portions. Probably a very good French option for the area. I thought that it is a little pricey for the food. Could work on the plate presentation. in general, ok to try but I would not drive more than 30 min to get to it.
Great French food, great service and reasonable prices.
The service here was fantastic. The maitre 'd and the waiter were both extremely pleasant and seemed genuinely excited for our anniversary. The lamb chops cooked medium rare was the best lamb I have ever had and the corn rissotto was a very comforting side dish. The fresh country bread is so doughy and fantastic. The only thing we did not like was the cheesecake, it is made with goat milk and it was just a little too "muttony." Also, the poutine was remarkable. We had a really great time here and will come again for a special occasion. The atmosphere is quaint and very reminiscent of a French country house. We went on a Sunday night so parking was also not an issue.
Good french fancy food
Wow! Service, food, beverages & dessert were all outstanding! A wonderful anniversary dinner!
Very beautiful interior. The French theme is real, everything on the menu reflects that. I would prepare to understand the menu before sitting down if this is your first experience in a French restaurant.
Excellent experience.
Excellent food try the lobster.
Went for my anniversary had a great time
Very nice, perfect place for a special occasion! Excellent food and service.
Disclaimer: I visited with my French class in high school over 20 years ago, so I admit things may have changed. Lol. I always intended to return one day with my boyfriend or husband and get the full French restaurant experience. I have a feeling that although the staff put on a good show for us, nothing compares to visiting for dinner and seeing them in their elements. I intend to make good on my promise to my high school self real soon now that I'm dating someone who can afford making my dream come true.
Picked this restaurant for our after wedding brunch. We were amazed at the level of service along with the quality of the food. We will be back for another special occasion.
Celebrated parent's 50th anniversary here. It was very nice. Everyone in our party of 12 raved about their menu selections. The restaurant is in a converted historic house in Ellicott City. There's a quiet, dimly lit bar on the first floor. The second floor (where we were), had separate rooms for private parties. It was rather quiet; I could hear an occasional murmur of nearby conversations and laughter. Despite the size of our group and the need to bring in a second table, the room felt intimate and cozy without being overly crowded.
Excellent meal. We had a reservation though we probably didn’t need it — we were seated right away and given privacy from other guests. Waitstaff was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, attentive and not the least bit pretentious. Quality was superb, and they offered to course out our items so we could enjoy our time and savor each dish. C'était très bon, would eat here again in a heartbeat. Thank you Tersiguel’s!
Food and service were nice, but I wasn't impressed with the atmosphere and it was expensive for what it is. Doubtful we'll ever go back.
For 30 years....Tersiguels has never missed French perfection.....
Absolutely fabulous food, service and ambiance.
Amazing food. Besutiful space. Incredible staff. Had a lovely time here
If you want to experience a great meal in a cozy and friendly environment then this is the place for you. They have an incredible staff, extensive wine choices, and succulent food. 100% recommend for any occasion. Guys looking for a date spot...yes. Ladies looking to be treated well...yes. Just want to gorge yourself on some of the finer things in life...yes. Not sure what to order, don't worry, they got you covered there too! We we're lucky to have Charlie there to provide insight and entertainment, I can't wait for my next visit!
Great service, excellent food!
A very nice experience. I'm no culinary expert so some if the experience was lost on me, but the service was friendly and helpful, the ambiance was beautiful and the food (salmon appetizer, diver scallops and lamb entrees, crepe dessert) were delish.
Fantastic dinner, great atmosphere and attentive staff! We will definitely be back.
I purchased a gift card for $79.99 at Costco and lost the voucher during my Cyber Monday shopping. Went to Costco and spoke with the assistant manager Stephen about my dilemma. Costco could not give me another since the vouchers are numbered. I called with Terisguels manager, Dominique about what transpired. He stated that unfortunately they could not give me another voucher, because someone else may have it. He was nice and took my name and number. The moral to this holiday disaster is not to lose your voucher because you will not get another. Costco and Terisguels might consider going digital like Groupon. So customers like myself can print out another and enjoy a holiday dinner
When I called them and tried to make a reservation, they put me a hold forever. It happened twice on same day. Horrible customer service.
Classy, elegant, yet comfortable French restaurant. Looks like the country home of a worldly gentleman. Wonderful food. Loved the hangar steak. Loved the bananas foster for dessert. (It's fun to watch the preparation, too.) Extensive wine list. Our waiter (I think his name was Charlie?) was incredibly charming and professional.
"Tersiguel's serves Baltimore city fare at NYC prices. Dinner consisted of an overly expensive chef's 'tasting menu' of just four courses, one of which was essentially a throw away as it was considered a palate cleanser for the dessert course. To say I was underwhelmed is putting it lightly. Spending ~$250 on a single meal (wine and tip included) should provide a memorable experience, and Tersiguel's was simply not up to the task. Save your money for Volt, the Charleston, or La Cuchara, local institutions that are truly worth the cost."
Outstanding service! Our waiter Brandon was absolutely amazing and attentive. Food was very good and dessert was delicious. Will definitely be returning soon.
I have been going here since I was a little girl and have always loved it. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and the food is delicious!
Tasty traditional French food with superb service
Love grabbing a bit and signature drink at the bar, friendly staff and atmosohere
Great place for a special occasion or just a delicious french meal. They have the best escargot. It comes buttery, garlicky hot. Perfect for dipping fresh bread. Also fantastic is the lobster pasta (homard) and filet. The service is warm and friendly.
We've visited three times now and the food is always unique and excellent! The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. This is one of our favorite special occassion restaurants. Just be mindful that parking can be scarce on Ellicott City's First Fridays.
Ambiance, food, and service are always impeccable! An Ellicott City treasure for sure!
