this is a decent restaurant near Christiana Mall, like all restaurants near Christiana Mall attends to be pricey for what you get. They have bison on the menu which is unusual if you've never had it. I've enjoyed my visits at Ted's Montana grill, but I don't really care if I go back. There are other places that are equally good but less expensive. If you like my reviews click like

Second time here and so far we love everything we've tried! The bison burgers, in general, have all been wonderful. They're full of flavor and surprisingly juicy. We tried the homemade chips with the ranch onion dip and will definitely have those again. I think chips and dips are highly underrated, so I tend to try them everywhere we go. This place nailed it. On our prior visit, we had the bison burger salad which was huge and completely filling. Those croutons are the stuff of dreams by the way. And last, but not least, they brought back the strawberry shortcake. Interestingly, the shortcake was actually a biscuit (instead of the angel food or pound cake often found in FL) and was quite delicious. My husband preferred the biscuit, but I guess I'm just set in my FL ways and prefer a softer sponge cake to soak up the juices. Great experience and I can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu!

I am incredibly disappointed at this establishment. On December 23rd, my husband and I decided to try this place out because we LOVE steak. We just got done with a day of shopping at Christiana Mall. When we arrived we also had a 9-month baby with us. Once we got seated no one spoke to us for over 30 min, we arrived at 6:45pm and left at 7:25pm. Our waitress never arrived at our table, but we were patient after 10 min so we decided to just wait, that is until more people arrived and started getting taken care of immediately. Now, this is where it was starting to get irritating. At the 30 min mark, we decided to get up and leave. Because so many waiters and waitresses passed by us and looked at us without saying a word. As we were walking out, and gathering our belongings (we had a baby with us so it was a lot to carry) the two hosts at the front never said anything to us even though they saw us sitting there for quite some time. I immediately called the establishment as we were leaving the parking lot and spoke to that manager. He was sympathetic on the phone, and apologized because he said: "I know how hard it can be to go out to dinner with a child". He told us that if we came back, he would comp our entire meal. But since we had a baby, we could not go back. His solution to this was to send us a gift card, but before he could do that he told us that he needs to record what happened and send it to "corporate" so they can approve of the gift card. So we agreed and exchanged our information. We once again waited patiently for the mail to come, because we don't drive up to Newark often since we live in Dover. We never received anything in the mail, I called again to see what happened. On Jan 23rd I spoke to another manager and told him the story of what happened. This manager said they never send anything to "corporate", and since it was so long ago he doesn't know how he can help us. I felt insulted and patronized that what I said is being viewed as a lie. I understand that a month is a long time, however, the promises the first manager made were all a lie. Especially because he claimed he would write it down in their "system" for the other managers to see. SO I was lied to by this person. This manager decided to give another offer to solve this issue, and he said he would send a $20 gift card. We have not received anything in the mail. It is now Jan 31st. So basically I will never eat here, and let everyone know how poorly they treat people that report issues with this place. Concerns go unnoticed here. If I could give zero stars I would.

Went for Happy Hour. I think they were having a huddle, about 5 minutes until I was acknowledged by staff. About 10 patrons there. Ordered 3oz burger which was good but lettuce on it was too much and just scattered everywhere and poor quality. Nachos were not good. Onion rings with horseradish AMAZING. Love the decor. Might go back to try higher end items. Update I went back and got a burger it was smaller than I expected for $16. Men's bathroom was horrendous. Reducing to two stars

Waited almost 40 minutes for food, despite it not being busy. Asked for water, that took another 10 minutes. Sides were bland and fries were old and chewy. They had the whole place basically closed down before the posted hours and made us feel like a bother for being there. The steaks were good, but not worth the price considering everything else.

I am giving 3 stars only because my husband did not have any issues. I had beef ribeye and he had a bison steak. We both order our meats "medium-well" his was fine. Tender and he had that "look" he gets when his meat is tender and flavorful. Well my medium well beef was still mooing and bled like a fresh kill. I sent it back. I kid you not when it came back it was as if it didnt actually make it back to kitchen at all. It was just as bloody. I tried to eat it anyway (time was an issue) but it had so much slimy fat, I just couldn't. Other than that the place is nice enough. I can say their appetizer of homemade chips was really good. Mashed potatoes and broccoli were good too.

pro: The place is elegantly decorate I read they use good ingredient. Beef is good. con: Salad is nothing special. The serving size of the burger is smaller than some similar restaurants. The serving size of brownie is pretty big, but the brownie is extremely heavy. It's generally a good restaurant, but for this price, they got a lot of competitors out there.

I liked this place because it was a little off the norm for me and everything I ordered was tasty. The food came out hot and on time. The server was great with explaining the menu and drink selections. Pretty cool being able to actually see the kitchen where they were cooking the food. Overall great atmosphere. The men's restroom was spotless. Definitely a place to bring a date or you just want to sit at the bar and watch a game.

Good service and fresh food. We liked the high backed booths which made it feel more private. The half sours (pickles) tasted super fresh and are a nice change from rolls and butter. The chili was really good. Don't let the fact that it has bison it it deter you. I am generally a traditional meat kinda guy but really enjoyed this. We will be back. Thanks.

If you have yet to visit Ted's Montana Grill, you should. There is plenty of parking. There is a bar area, a high-top table seat-yourself area, an outdoor patio dining area, and the main dining area. The two bartenders are very attentive, pleasant, great servers even when the restaurant becomes more intense. Ted's has a $5 happy hour (4 P.M. - 6:30 P.M.). They have special happy hour menu which features food items for $5. Two very popular Happy Hour Menu staples are the 3 oz. Christiana Burger (which comes with fries and a gigantic onion ring) and Bison Nachos (which has bison chili at its core). Sometimes you notice dinners ordering two Christiana Burgers. The Bison Nachos are pretty substantial. You must sit at the bar or the high-top tables near the bar to receive the happy hour specials. The drinks with the margaritas leading the way are worth the Price and then some. A lot of the cocktails and beverages feature freshly squeezed sour mixes and/or juice ---- which you can absolutely taste. If you are unsure what to order on the overall menu, simply look and ask some next to you, and/or the bartenders, they are superbly knowledgeable.

You guys not only screwed over her, but me as well, and you can’t even take the time to reply to her review? Are you trying to purposely ignore her or something? Super freaking rude. Not looking for a free meal handout at all, just at the very LEAST a valid sincere explanation. You guys need to extremely step up your customer service and reply to Leslie Arrunada.

Reluctantly went back after several bad experiences at this restaurant. Party I was with wanted to go there, so I went along. Decided to keep it simple and just get a cheeseburger. Waitress dropped food and never returned until after after I was done eating. Both my and my son's burgers were so salty they were barely edible. In fact i took a bite, waited 10 minutes and then just decided to eat it since it didn't appear the waitress was coming back. When she finally came back, I asked her if the burgers were always this salty. She said that sometimes that the cooks oversalt the burgers and they are inconsistent. Her solution and recommendation was to ask for no salt next time we come in. Obviously unsympathetic and didn't seem to care in the least....her solution was for us to solve problems in the kitchen by asking for our meal to be unseasoned? She then walked away shouting to other people at the bar having a good old time. Apparently she's also a bartender, so guess $17 bison burgers aren't where she makes her money, so our service didn't matter much. Won't be back...ever.

Worth the trip, we were happy to find a Ted's as close as this one. We used to go to the restaurant in Warrington, PA, but it sadly closed. This was only a 40 mile drive and easily as good as I remember. I enjoyed a jalapeño huckleberry margarita and the chili cheeseburger.

I wish I could give this place 4 stars. But the lady I was sitting next to at thier bar. Was so mean. Making remarks that could have suggested racial bias. She would not stop. And unfortunately I had to give 2 stars. Food was good but being in a comfortable environment not so much.

This place is terrible. My best guess is that the oil they cook everything in is bad. Very untasty food and served after clearly sitting under a warming light for 30+ minutes (we were a large party, to be fair). Service was nice, they replaced things and accommodated. Nice people. Bad food. Once and done.

We've been here before, and generally enjoyed it. But something wasn't working yesterday. The vegetable sides with my husband's meal were cold! And the meat wasn't really hot. So he sent the meal back. Came out somewhat better 2nd try, nut still not really hot. And my Crab Cake was warm enough, but only barely. Someone's not following recipes! Probably won't return for a while...

Update: so gave it another shot. Major improvement. Well worth the wait. Don’t let the crowd size turn you away. Definitely worth the wait. Original Post: Ordered burger med-well and it was served med-rare. Waitress advised must've been an issue with the kitchen. Burger was redelivered. No apology, no manager came over, no adjustment. Because it took about 20 minutes, wasnt actually hungry and just paid the bill in full and promptly left with my party. Tried the same burger again this past weekend. Arrived room temperature with limited room temperature french fries. Waitress was great and loved the cherry coke. Enjoyed sitting on the patio with friends!

This is the second time I've been to this Ted's Montana, and it was a wonderful experience both times. The bison burgers are so good! After almost a year, the only downside is that the serving staff still seems a little stressed out handling the crowds; we had to remind our server a couple times for a drink refill or to bring out a side we ordered. Despite that minor inconvenience, this is a great restaurant and I highly recommend a visit if you're in the area looking for a delicious hearty meal.

Interesting menu with equal parts bison and beef with a few chicken and fish dishes thrown in. The bison nachos are absolutely delicious. Our waitress recommended several dishes one being the Delicious Duo which is a 3oz beef slider and a 3oz bison slider; the bison was better than the beef but still really good. Several in our party got the beef NY strip and said it was delicious, one got the pecan crusted trout and enjoyed it except for the skin being left on. The person that got the bison strip steak was disappointed because there was a huge, thick piece of fat running down the whole side which didn't really leave much meat and at $30 some odd dollars it really wasn't worth it. We also had an order from the kids menu of the steak for $10. It was a nice size portion and could easily feed an adult with the added sides. I'm told this was the most tender and tasty steak the child's mother ever had (of course she tried a piece ) and said child (2yrs old) finished half of everything and had lunch for the next day; in fact just about everyone ended up taking a portion of their meal home. Definitely a place to try if you are looking for something different. For dessert several got the seasonal dessert which was strawberry shortcake. The bottom half of a biscuit topped with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream with strawberries and sauce poured over top with the top of the biscuit, more strawberries and whipped cream. Absolutely delicious. The only thing that would have made it better was fresh strawberries, or cutting up what was used into smaller pieces because they were really mushy.

First visit to the grill. Waitress was friendly ordered chilli it wasn't that bad. For my meal I ordered the delicious duo I'm sorry I did. Food was like biting a slab of grease so greasy infact bottom of rolls where mush by the time it came to the table my husband ordered the meatloaf it tasted frozen not freshly made and green beans where ice cold just really bad food so we ended up spending 43.00 just to eat a cup of chilli and 2 drinks. I will never go back John taffer probably couldn't help this place but it wouldn't hurt for them to try bar rescue anything is possible.

This place genuinely discriminates against biracial families. The staff is horribly insensitive and rude. My family of three went here for lunch. The staff seated and served the couple who came in behind us. This is as the bar staff, the last place in the world for a toddler, were openly talking about us. Making snide remarks about us to the patrons sitting there. We were finally seated after again the staff in the dining room discussed openly where to place is because of the and I quote "the stroller and wheelchair. We ain't got no short bus seats." As they laughed in front of us. I was so stunned and taken aback by the statements that I blindly followed the waitress who had just said this to a table near the front door where it it was drafty because of the people going in and out of the restaurant. When I asked for another table in the nearly empty restaurant the waitress rolled her eyes and walked away from us in a huff and never came back. Then watched and waited for someone, anyone to take our order. again people who had walked in after us were served. My husband had to walk over to the manager to see if she could get someone to serve as well as to bring us a highchair for my son. I don't think that had he not gone for help we would have been there to this day unserved. When we got food and drinks the food was cold and tasted so bad that I wasn't able to swallow it. We requested the manager we were told that we were being rude! We paid for the horrible food and drinks and left without ever hearing an apology for the behavior of the staff. My husband and I above making a scene, especially with our 9 month old child watching this all play out in such a horrible way. In my younger years I would have been verbalizing with extreme prejudice towards this kind of behavior. At the end of the day, I thank God that my son was too young to be able understand what he was seeing and why it was happening. And to clarify, I am a mom first and the fact that I am also the product of a loving biracial marriage, the fact my husband is Caucasian, the fact that my son is biracial, and finally the fact that I am in a wheelchair is relevant only in telling this story. These are things that do not define us as a family or individually . And those absolute facts are not in them selves or as a whole deserving of this kind of racist and out right ableism that my family received on this day. I hope that this was helpful and that anyone reading this never has to deal with this.

Loved the food, atmosphere and service. It's really open and classy inside without being pompous. You can still dress casual and not feel out of place. The menu was just large enough but not too extensive and I LOVE that they offer a gluten free menu. I came hungry but i rarely finish my plate at a restaurant.. my bf and I ate every bite! I got the salmon and he got a burger. My only issue (and this is nitpicking) is that we were served a small dish of what was described as "a cross between pickles and cucumbers" and they were not good. I'm not sure what the chef was thinking... possibly they just ordered too many and needed to get rid of them? Im not sure but it didnt add anything to the experience except confusion and a bad taste in my mouth. Other than that our experience was excellent. The deserve 5 stars.

Vegetables tasted like a heavy dose of smoke a strong chemical taste!! Had to have removed from the bill (yes is was that bad). My friend and I thought we could chase this taste with dessert strawberry shortcake was the special unfortunately it was made of ice cream and biscuits not at all what a shortcake would be like.

Traditional pug with cowboy fare and a western theme. I highly recommend the bison burgers which are only marginally more expensive than a hamburger and come with a lot of topping choices. They have a full bar with a great drink menu and they have some wickedly good desserts. The servers are really nice as a service was faster than what I expected. Free parking easy access from the highway handicap entrance and they accommodated my need for salt free French fries! Great place for a first date the second date lunch or dinner with friends nice atmosphere and good food. if you get the appetizers plan on bringing some of your entree home! It's going to fill you up!

Food was amazing! Price's are what to expect for a specialty steakhouse, but well worth the price. Sat outside. The wife had a bison filet with sauteed green beans and onions, and a baked potato. Steak was over the top good, and could barely taste the difference compared to beef! I had a bison burger with gruyere cheese, carmelized onions, garlic aioli, and fresh romaine (called the Avalon). Fantastic meaty burger slightly more flavorful than beef! Drinks were also excellent (wife had a margarita, and I had a whiskey"new fashioned" (had an orange slices and cherry in it that enhanced the whiskey flavor). Paid $82 plus $16 20% tip =$98. It was our 8 year anniversary so definitely great place to celebrate, and would highly recommend!

First time eating here. Food was extremely salty. I found a hair on my plate which I just brushed off saying it could of been mine, until my sons birthday cookie had a hair inside of it. That’s one thing I won’t return to a restaurant for. Completely grossed me out and made me lose my appetite.

Was underwhelmed with the total experience. Did not like the Pickels served on the table. Husband and I both ordered burgers. Mine - beef, his - bison and requested medium well. His burger came well done, not medium. The fries were the worst fries I’ve ever had. Didn’t know it was possible to mess up fries, but they sure did. Food took forever to come considering that we went during a slow period. I noticed the food for the few tables around came slow also. Ordered cookies and ice cream for dessert. That was a fail also. Somehow, they’ve succeeded in messing up the most fail proof foods. Cookie was rock hard and just placed as a backdrop to the ice cream. Staff was friendly, but we didn’t go for the smiles on the staff’s face. We went hoping to eat good food. We left there saying we should have just gone somewhere else. I suggest they rethink their menu and cooks. The restaurant has promise, but needs to be re-evaluated.

Need to add another "$" to the price summary. Bison is evidently rare and expensive. I had a $15 salad which was great. My wife had a pork dish which was underseasoned. If you're not into bison, there are better ways to spend money.

Enjoyed great service in a nice atmosphere. High ceilings muted lightning with tables not too close together. Bison is pricey but very lean and delicious. Also has a large bar area. Menu has variety of steaks, seafood, pasta, and sandwiches.

This Ted’s location is right off the route 1 exit (first thing you’ll see, I don’t think you’ll need a map.) The atmosphere is classy and fancy, and our server (his name started with a p), was amazing. He recommended the bison bacon cheeseburger, and it was good to the last swallow. It tasted different, but hey it’s bison. I also noticed the bathrooms have powdered soap, which is cool. Definitely recommend!

What a great restaurant at a great price. Service was excellent and the wines on the list were very reasonably priced. Ted’s will not disappoint. The only thing that was not on was the timing of the main course. We were not done with apps and the steaks came out. Can’t send a med-rare steak back so we had them leave it. Next time I’ll tell them when to fire up the main course. But this won’t stop me from going back.

Execellent sized portions and great food. I love the environmental friendly service. They have paper straws, natural soap, etc. I didn’t give 5 stars because I stood at the front desk waiting to be seated for a while. The person tending the bar and a few waitresses walked by several times without acknowledging me. I stopped one and asked if I could seat myself. After that rocky start, it was awesome service! My son loved his waitress and already asked to return!

Just wowed tonight. I am a bit of food critic for starters. I must say that this restaurant exceeded expectations on all levels. The house wine.. very good, the salad dressing, just yummy, the vegetables nicely seasoned, really tasty! And then the Bison (filet).. Oh Dear God Delicious. The service stellar. An excellent value for superb food. Put this one on your list, you will not be disappointed!

I was told 45-50 mins. Got sat in 30. My mom was up visiting, she loved her burger and nachos, i had a burger with no bun and Brussel sprouts. Very good. Kids grilled cheese was to burnt for my son. Only gave 4 stars because i saw dust fall off the table lamp in to my drink, so i was very distracted the rest of the meal.

This is a new favorite! I am in love!!! Our waitress was so incredibly kind and courteous. It makes such a difference to me when the service is so exemplary. I loved every single thing we ate. The bison nachos were delicious, my margarita was top notch and I was prepared to be skeptical, they listened to my request for a blue rare burger, and the pickles they bring to the table are fantastic! We will definitely be back.
