This Restaurant belongs to the category of Indian restaurant.
Terrible service. And I spotted a mouse next to our table!! There’s got to me more in the kitchen if they’re running around in the dining area. And our server noticed the mouse too but did nothing about it. I do not recommend.
Been going here for a few years now, the food & atmosphere at the Bethesda location is nicer than the Kentlands location. The menu hasn’t changed in 3 years so it would be nice to see t freshen up a bit so that there r some new items.
This spot is good! Convenient rates, big dishes and the staff members are consistently friendly.
Went there by the ratings. Ordered a Raj Kachori. Might sound a little exaggerated, but a hammer could have been handy. Sort of killed my appetite to test out other items on the menu. Left a comment in person too. 2/5 as the waiter agreed with me and has reported this to the chef before and nothing much came out of it.
Well priced, good food, nice staff. I was only disappointed that the butter chicken was made with dark meat instead of white meat (breasts).
Nice place in a good neighborhood. The food is quite nice and the service is excellent and very friendly. Spice level is medium. Try their appetizers.
The food on the lunch buffet was fresh and taste. The staff was very polite.
Gr8 food and even better service! Our servers were so very friendly and attentive. Reasonably priced right downtown Bethesda, gr8 spot
Food was very good and flavorful, with a diverse selection of vegetarian dishes. Just ask if you want the dishes to be made spicy.
The $12.99 lunch buffet blows my mind. This place is delicious and the waitstaff are some of the most attentive I've seen. I was introduced to the restaurant through a friend who had her wedding reception lunch here. Shout out to the restaurant owner. He makes sure every table always has naan and that every glass is filled to the brim.
Worst food and worst service. The pretty lady waiter service is really bad. Will not go again.
Their buffet is pretty good, especially their goat curry although i would have liked it to be more spicey
We had a office holiday party at Tandoori Nights with a gift swap. We enjoyed the buffet service as we were a party of over 20. The staff was able to handle our crew without a problem.
Good indian food
Very nice place, good food and friendly staff. The prices is just for the food you get.
Hands down the best Indian buffet in Bethesda. Amazing mango lassi and naan served to the table as part of the buffet, and their goat dishes are just phenomenal.
Great Indian food at reasonable prices with customizable spiciness per dish.
The service was horrible. Our family went there because our usual Indian restaurant, Handi was closed... Big mistake. The food was okay. The lamb curry had very little, to no meat, this was the case for much of what we ordered. The prices were to much for the portions. The service, or lack of, made it a horrible experience. They never came to our table, except to bring our food. After that they stood around watching us eat. Will definitely not be going back, and I will not recommend this place. For the area, there are plenty of much better spots.
Service was excellent and food was very good.i ordered butter chicken and chat Papri and both items were very good .I strongly recomend Tandoori Nights for Indian food
Great service and ambiance, even if the food is a bit Americanized for my tastes. But a perfect spot for a quick, filling buffet lunch with more options than most Indian buffets in the area.
I love their buffet. It's really nice and authentic. Moreover, the staff is very helpful.
Reasonably priced buffet for lunch
The food is amazing. The staff is friendly. It's my favorite place to eat in Bethesda.
Food and service was great.
Food was delicious and the service was exceptional.
A notch above the standard north Indian places in the area.
Everything is delicious! Great place!
Very delicious Portion more than enough
One of the better Indian restaurants in the DC-MD-VA area. Seating isn't very comfortable but the food more than makes up for it. Their homemade Paneer (cottage cheese) is one of the best I've eaten in the area. Also, they serve a special chilly sauce on request that makes the food oh-so-spicy.
Everything about this restaurant exceeds expectations. Great food, service, and price.
Go for the buffet from 11:30am-2:30pm during the week. Better bang for your buck + you get to try many different dishes instead of one dish for more than the buffet costs during regular business hours.
Pretty decent. Liked the ambience and service.
This place is really gorse what makes this place worst for service and bad attitude of the manager or owner shibani , who is not deserve to be manager are whatever While placing the order we have told waitress that , we have allergy for cilantro and placed request to check with chef but in spite of telling they still brought food out with cilantro pickle , so told the runner we do not want cilantro and poor chap was clueless and then comes shibani into the picture with such worst attitude saying oh then you cannot eat anything in our place and starting removing the plates with no empathy or apologies , felt so disrespectful and so we gave advise if you can be lil more respectful but she continued and went on to charge for $ 5.69 cent for coke and 01 roti . SHAME ON THE MANAGEMENT WHO HIRE SUCH PPL .
The lunch buffé is fantastic. Arrive early to beat the crowds. The bread is very good and service is top notch. Hidden gem in Bethesda and very affordable for the quality food. The lamb Rogan Gosh is to recommend.
Best place ever! they are going to do everything to make you welcomed and well served! You must visit this place!
Pretty good. Authentic flavors spiced up to our taste. Nans r super soft. Cannot think of many restaurants in India with better breads. Kulfi for desert was a surprise, I was expecting a knock down from a family pack from a Indian store, like in most restaurants around here.
Authentic Indian Food and excellent buffet place during weekdays lunch!
Excellent lunch buffet. Usually quiet during the week days.
Delicious food. Wonderful people. Finding good quality Local South Asian food is extremely difficult in Bethesda. Glad I found this restaurant. Absolutely loved it!
Authentic Indian food, big buffet spread. They have chicken lamb, goat and good vegetarian options. I wish they replace on of the meats with seafood, then I will be a regular here.
Place is awesome. Atmosphere is wonderful, food fantastic. Definitely be back.
Great kababs but not so great vegetarian food.
Simply amazing. Both food and service was exceptional. Thank you for continuing to serve me even after closing. Highly recommended.
So I just called to place two orders at this place and I asked for no rice but bread instead the waitress said you can’t substitute your rice for bread . Really ? That’s very stupid and I ended up canceling my order. It’s disappointing because when they serve the lunch buffet you get the bread so I don’t understand why it’s a big deal . I’ve been at this restaurant several times and never had this before issue but I will never step foot into this place again!
My boyfriend and I discovered this place on Groupon two summers ago and were so impressed with our experience. It’s a lovely atmosphere located right in downtown Chevy Chase. We’ve never had a long wait and the staff is very kind and professional. I’m a vegetarian and they offer a huge selection of veggie dishes. If you like your food extremely spicy, make sure to tell them!
good place. good food, polite ppl, just the shocking in my last visit was i asked for onion and lemon and they charged for that too..
Great authentic food, very few Indian restaurants have quality food like this one. Great service. Located in hip upscale neighborhood in Bethesda, MD
Food was ok but manager was incredibly rude.
The chicken korma was great! Ive never had it with fruit in before.. couldnt tell you what type of fruit it was but tasted amazing!
Great indian food and service is outstanding
Great food, friendly and professional service, especially the attractive lady, reasonably priced. Highly recommend.
2 simple sentences for any one to understand it easily (specially when I'm coming from Indian origin I do know what's good and what's not): 1. Good Hospitality and ambiance. 2. Good Taste and quantity too! Should try!
A reasonably good choice for Indian in this popular section of Bethesda. It's solid, but doesn't wow. On this first visit, the one "wow" in the food was the outstanding naan. That bread is a highlight at any Indian restaurant worth its chops, but is better than usual here. Lamb rogan josh and tandoori chicken were both very solid. Chicken saag was acceptable. The only outright flop was a shrimp appetizer, that was served in a sauce that tasted like sweet-and-sour minus the seasoning. A mixed drink was good, but not very potent. Bethesda isn't the cheapest place to go for Indian, but there's several good Indian choices in Bethesda, and Tandoori Nights is a reasonable addition to the rotation.
It could have been better. On the positive side, servers were attentive (it was Sunday lunch with only about 3 or 4 tables occupied at any time, served by two persons), and brought the next item just before you finished the current dish. On the other hand, food was average for Indian restaurant in the US and below average for an Indian restaurant in India. The tables for two are too small to place plates, quarter plates, the served food dishes and drinks glasses at the same time. I ordered a half of tandoori chicken - which is supposed to be a whole chicken roasted in a clay oven. The saving grace was that the chicken here seemed have experienced some real charcoal flame as opposed to many other Indian restaurants in the US that seem to just bake the chicken in a regular oven and call it tandoori chicken. Also, it was served in a sizzler platter, which was interesting. However it was clear that the chicken was cut into pieces first and then marinated and cooked. The quality of the chicken was not good. Especially the breast meat was very tough. They should have used young organic chicken or Cornish hen for this. The spice was not appropriate either. Tandoori chicken mix available in Indian grocery stores taste closer to the authentic. The other dish I ordered was lamb biryani, which was my second preference because they did not have the goat biryani. This was a disappointment, the meat was tough, the spices thick greasy and sweetened to the American taste and mixed with the rice probably later. Tandoori is a north indian cuisine where you expect "dum biryani" - slow cooked, sparingly but elegantly spiced rice and meats. To summarize, good service, very average food.
Food and service were excellent. The lentil soup was amazing--highly recommended!
I have been going to this restaurant since 2013. I have no words to describe the buffet lunch and a few special foods like 'Chicken Sixty Five' and 'Chicken Tandoori' that I always enjoy eating here. I recomend everyone to try out this restaurant if you are in Bethesda, MD.
The food was very good. However please know that everything they have on the menu is either cooked with, in, or has mixed in SOY bean oil! Even the rice had soy bean oil in it. My group of 5 (one of us with a soy allergy) found this out when ordering our dinners. If you have a soy allergy I highly recommend going somewhere else.
It is so awesomely exquisitely prepared The delicate moong Bean dals to the baingan bharta and a spicy vindaloo side Nice staff Plenty of room Indoor/outdoor seating In the heart of downtown Bethesda
Went with a group of friends close to closing, but we were still greeted with respect and love. Had such a good time eating and having a few Corona's
Very tasty. Incredible service and ambience was very modern for an Indian restaurant. Drinks are fairly priced. We are very picky Indian food eaters, we have tried many restaurants before and have failed at enjoying quality, tasty, authentic Indian food. For the price, which is ridiculously affordable for Bethesda/Washington, I would highly recommend this place.
Service was abysmal. The waitress (Shibani?) had an extremely bad attitude as soon as I walked in. She refused to let me sit in a booth even though the restaurant was practically empty. I am (was) a regular customer. When I go there, I always go right when they open (sometimes I'm the only customer), I sit in the exact same booth, and I eat quickly and leave. I'm not sure what her problem is/was, but she was argumentative from the start. The other customer in the restaurant came to my defense when this woman refused to let me sit down and eat and told her that she was being very rude to me. The waitress stood there arguing with both of us, which was beyond unprofessional. I ended up leaving to eat elsewhere. I am a paying customer and do not deserve to be treated so rudely. I can understand if the restaurant was full or busy, but there was literally only one other customer in the whole place. I would have come and gone long before the regular lunch rush even started. What a disappointment!
Great authentic Indian food and great service. We had our University alumni Ramadan iftar there and the guys did a great job, we had a great time.
Nice food and service.
Authentic Indian food. Accurate spice and seasoning. Great chaat options.
Great atmosphere, service, and food we enjoyed our time here for lunch and received their lunch buffet special. Food and drinks are amazing, we will return soon.
Great restaurant. I loved the look and feel. The servers were very helpful with the selections. Good location. There are a lot of parking spots. Wine menu is decent. Wouldn't mind going back here to try out other things on the menu.
Wow! It was so hot food. I ate a soup. But, I am glad to have cold weather that day. Also, I sat with my wife outside the restaurant.
Gave a three star for the starters only as the main course tastes like any other Indian restaurant food here and it's so very predictable
Delicious food and great customer service
When i am entered in restaurent it's really good place and i ordered indian food indian food and i ordered chicken tandoori it was really awesome and so tasty food i never forget the taste employes are good to treat customer and one decent guy is really very good he is so good i want to say thanks to everyone.its awesome place to go for dinner and lunch
Great place for dinner out.
This was one of the best meals I have ever had anywhere in any cuisine! Our server, Sulochana, was friendly and patient, answering our many questions. There are many breads to choose from on the menu - we had the Onion Kulha and it was warm and flavorful, straight from the oven. Both main dishes were excellent, Chicken Jalfrezi and Chicken Korma Kashmiri. I am very much looking forward to going again to thoroughly enjoy this fantastic food!
The weekday lunch buffet is the best. They have cut back on a few things but food is still delicious.
The food here was really good and the atmosphere is great. The lunch buffet comes with a small mango lassi and costs $12 ish. The staff was very friendly and good about filling up our drinks and bread bowl. The food tasted amazing and their air conditioner worked well. Would recommend.
Great food, I really enjoyed it. Especially their chicken
A group of us went for the lunch buffet, originally a party of 6, but only 5 showed up. They charged us for 6, HOWEVER, when we brought it to their attention they immediately corrected the bill. For a buffet, the food was delicious! Sometimes restaurants focus on quantity over quality, but this place does not.
Tasty & Spicy just the way i like it! Appetizers have look delicious
The food was delicious and the staff most attentive and helpful. Tandoori nights has some of the fastest service I have ever enjoyed at an Indian restaurant anywhere. Wonderful food materialized mere moments after ending ordered. Dinner portions were so generous that a party of 3 who ordered 3 entres and naan were most satisfied. The selection of items warrants at least a couple visits to this clean, comfortable and delicious location in Bethesda.
Been here twice and plan on coming by more often to try out the menu. It's not hard to find tasty veggie dishes. Service is quick and friendly and they have an excellent wine selections.
The food was awesome! I have been in the restaurant last weekend with my family. And I must say that the service as well as the food was just awesome. Thank you guys! And keep up with the good services. I will come back again.
Awesome food. I generally don't like goat curry in restaurants but at Tandoori, I enjoyed it. Great taste great food. Welcome drink and desserts are best of all. Forgot to mention, service is awesome as food. I recommend to my friends..
Fabulous. The food was delicious. We got 4 different dishes and shared them. There was a good range of mild to spicy. The side of rice served was delicious (probably due to butter - yumm) and the drinks were fantastic. Very exotic and absolutely worth trying. If I am ever back in Bethesda this will be the first restaurant I go to.
Very good place, food is delicious
Our favorite restaurant in the DMV!
Food is great.
Excellent lunch buffet - Great service too !
Waited almost an hour for food when we got here before the dinner rush. Mediocre food. Waited 20 minutes for the check and a box. Take out the terrible service and it’s maybe a 2 star dinner.
Tandoori Nights is a staple at my job. For most special occasions, we head on over to this Indian restaurant for their lunch buffet. For a decent price, you can help yourself to a line of all you can eat Indian food. They switch up the line every day, but my favorites are the mushroom curry and butter chicken with rice. Of course, they bring a basket of warm naan for you to enjoy with your meal. They also have a bar with a full wine, beer, and cocktail menu. The food is good, but not the best Indian food in DC (For that, go to Dishes of India in Huntington). Warning: If you do the buffet, expect to be hit with an intense food coma afterwards. You'll stuff yourself until it hurts.
Great service and great good. Everyone here is extremely customer orientated.
Been to Tandoori nights multiple times over the past few years. The buffets and the dine in are both excellent. Definitely recommend to anyone in the Bethesda or DC area looking for great Indian food.
Tikka masala came with nothing but peppers so terrible $25 for 3 small chunks of chicken and loads of peppers what a con
It's awesome place, you will taste really indian cuisine
Me and my friends had a fun time here! Good service, delicious food for an affortable price and a nice ambience. 5 Stars
2 stars for the papadam...rest of the food is nothing to write about. the lamb curry was mostly bones. Moist and flavorful tandory chicken. the rice pudding was very sweet and watery with no spice cardamon flavor. been there, tried it, next...
Awesome Indian food - one of the best in the town. My favorite is Paneer tikka masala
Had the Lamb Patiala and it was delicious. The Lamb was cooked just right, and the sauce has just the right kick to keep things interesting. Definitely a must try if you are in the area.
Good service and nice staff. One of the best Indian in Bethesda
i like the food but on 9/6/16 i saw some one stop at Giant food and there was a baby and elderly woman with that Beautiful Indian Lady i follow them and find out they going to eat lunch there then i taught i should go there but my boss called me and i have to leave otherwise i must eat there at lunch time but guess what i went back at evening and i try their food i loved it and please that lady wildcapricorn666 at g mail is my contact i think next time i would like to go with u there
Excellent food if you like Indian. And above all excellent service. Prices are reasonable as well. Unlike the other places around.....TIP: ask for a cocktail and the barman will go beyond and above to make sure you like it.
The vindaloo could have used a bit more heat, but it was still delicious, so I can't really complain.
Great tasting food. Naan were served hot to your table along with Mango Lassi. Service was good! Highly recommend.
A very good Indian restaurant if you are in the area. Food is fantastic! Most prices are about what you expect, but the desserts seem to be higher than what I am used to. All in all, I would go here again.
Best Indian cuisine in the DMV
Awsome place for Indian food
I worked here before his manger is very rude and the food is very dirty never go in this restaurant
Few dishes are very good
Nice Chicken
The food was underwhelming but the service is what warrants the poor review. It was a pretty terrible experience to be honest, and I'm a very patient patron. They run the system where your table doesn't have a designated server, and as a result nobody was keeping track of how long it was taking for us to get our food. It was 50 minutes before we got our food and the restaurant was half full when we ordered (and the couple next to us that arrived after us, ordered, ate, paid and left before we got our food) after I asked different servers 3 times to check on our food for us, and then they never got back to us. After we ate I literally had to get up and corner a waiter to get me the check because the last guy just wasn't doing it. The manager on duty was very inexperienced and when I explained how terrible the experience was and asked her what she could do, she just took off 15%. That's insulting. I should have been comped a meal, or the whole bill. Oh, and the food was so mediocre that my girlfriend didn't even want the left overs, and she loves Indian food. We weren't the only ones getting upset either, there were at least three other tables having a bad experience as well. Just be warned, you might waste a lot of time for no pay off.
This is a good place to go to eat for lunch if you're into buffets. I've only been once for dinner. The food is amazing. They can skimp sometimes on naan bread. The Chicken Tikka Masala was my favorite dish.
You can't go wrong with their lunch buffet! It's a great value. I have been several times and they always have a wide selection of dishes. They have plenty of vegetarian dishes in addition to several meat options to make sure everyone is happy. Lately lunch has included a complimentary mango lassi drink which is delicious.
$19 for goat biryani ???? only stupid americans would go eat there. goat biryani cost is $7 super expensive restaurant, stay away, a total rip off
Buffet is excellent in the weekdays , service is excellent in the weekends however it can be a bit expensive
Consistently tasty food
Always impeccable service, great cocktails and consistently delicious food. One of my favorite restaurants in Bethesda!
Really good food. Ok, maybe the chai needs work! That’s just small stuff, everything really was good. But, importantly, the staff were very nice, accommodating and service was great and all in all it was a pleasure. The restaurant is attractive and comfortable. Good value as well. Go eat here.
Everything was PERFECT! Food, service, atmosphere, everything!
Great food and venue
Wonderfull indian tandoori style food!
Delicious!!!! And Nice customer service!!!
Fantastic authentic Indian dishes and excellent service
The best Indian place around. I usually go for lamb or chicken tikka masala, but this time I went for the butter chicken and it is definitely my new go to. We came here for a birthday party and the service was also amazing.
Super good goat curry!
I love coming here either for the lunch buffet, or just for samosas if I'm not too hungry.
Food is good but service is bad, we waited almost 30 minutes for the first serve
Good Indian food option in Bethesda
Very bad manager that works there. He doesn't know how to be hospitable and was very rude. Their food is ok and servers seemed very nice but manger was rude and didn't know how to be professional and act polite to customers. 1 star for the manager. They should consider retraining him or hiring someone better.
Good Indian food on Bethesda Row. Vegan and Vegetarian choices.
Somewhat authentic Indian chow. Unlike many of the restaurants at this location in Bethesda, Tandoori Nights is not too assuming or too overpriced.
