I have eaten at many Mexican restaurants over my 54 years and this is by far my favorite. Plaza Tolteca was sub-par compared to the service we received here. I had Adrian as my server and he exceeded expectations to every request I had. Will go here again with my wife.

I'm originally from Arizona and this has been the best Mexicanfood I have had since I moved to Maryland, also the Margaritas were very good and very strong. Happy hour had some amazing specials for drinks.

The food is better than the staff. That's sad, because I know some of them from Monterrey's. Very high quality ingredients, but it takes 30 minutes to get a drink order, no drink refills, and literally walking through the restaurant to find a manager to hand the bill and a credit card after being ignored for 45 minutes after finishing the meal. And that happened on multiple occasions. Why is a once friendly Monterrey staff so hostile? I like the food, but dread the staff.

Good service bad food! Just had an enchiladas supreme. Meat and chicken were both old stock that is very disgusting. I ate couple bites then got a painful food poisoning 2 hrs after, was the only meal I had for the day so cannot be anything else.

I started eating at plaza azteka in Virginia beach 15 years ago and it was by far the best Mexican food I've ever had. It's what I judge every Mexican resteraunt against. No one has ever come close to their rice. We ended up moving and eventually ended up in Maryland. I ate at a place in Bowie that I immediately thought tasted exactly the same and found out it was owned by the same family. Then it went out if business. Glad to find out there is this one now. It's about an hour from home but worth the occasional drive.

An attractive place with friendly people. In my opinion, while not bad there are better mexican-styled restaurants than this one. I guess it is Monterrey of California d/b/a Plaza Azteca (odd name).

Come here for a quick bite at lunch, or take a date or friends for dinner. Fresh table-side guacamole (made in front of you) is always entertaining. I reccomend trying the Pina Loka.

Would not recommend to anyone. I called and ordered food over the phone and was told they had a specific dish. I go pick it up and pay for my food. By the time i got home i realized my order was wrong. I take it back and requested the same dish and was told they didn’t have it. So instead, i ended up keeping the same dish i already had but requested a tortilla on the side. Not only did they charge me for the tortilla, but i was also charged a fee to make it to-go, which was a fee i had already payed for originally when i first ordered!

Awesome food and price. The server was the best. Every few minutes asking is everything ok and do we need anything else. Annoying, maybe but really concerned on the meal. 5 stars here. The portions were more than expected. I ordered OMG Nachos. Looked really cute on the menu. When they came, Christ bring me a to go box.
