You have the reviews of people like you who buy the products of Passage to India (Restaurant) near Maryland.
Now the business gets a score of 4.2 over 5 and that score is based on 199 reviews.
As you can see its rating is really positive, and it's based on a high number of feddbacks, so we may think that the valuation is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to value when they are happy with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to write feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant is included in the category of Indian restaurant.
Great food
I am writing as Kristen's daughter. I am 11 years old, and I love Passage to India. My favorite menu item is Chicken Tikka Masala. I think this menu item is very good for other kids. The reason is, the curry is very mild, and the curry has a bit of a sweet and savory taste. It also tastes like an Indian-style tomato soup, with chicken in it, and it tastes delicious.
Good service, quick serving. Crowded but nice atmosphere. Affordable. Spicy lamb vindaloo!
Good food and good ambiance
Great food and service, one of my favorite Bethesda restaurants.
Service was poor. Servers were rude and discourteous and were not pleased with our order. We felt quite uncomfortable and unwelcome. We were not treated with the respect we had expected from the Passage to India. We went with high hopes and expectations but were disappointed.
Whenever I come here, I get uncomfortably full because the food is so good that I don't want to stop eating. The decor is gorgeous and the staff is gracious as well. Always a wonderful experience!
Lovely staff, beautiful amd airy decor, and deliscious food from a very descriptive menu with regional Indian traditional dishes. Naan bread was fresh and crusty, lamb was flavorful and tender, and the desserts were fantastic.
Wonderful meal. Great service. Always a favorite.
Good food, nice ambiance.
Great food very accommodating when asked for something unusual . To then I can add Thank you . Excellent service!
Great service and wonderful food!
Very good food and cozy atmosphere. We were a big party and accommodated pretty fast. Recommend.
Local favorite of mine for Indian food. Somewhat of an upcaled place with the service to match and courses from each major region in India. The menu lets you know which options are vegan and the meals are plentiful. They're also open Christmas day.
Excellent variety.
Great food in a prime location.
Wonderful!!
Excellent.
This is probably the worst Indian restaurant I have been too.. and I have been to a ton of Indian restaurants along the east coast . The service was extremely poor.. the server was egging us to order quickly ... when we asked us if he would like to recommend something ... he looked pretty disinterested and suggested some extremely common dishes . Food was pretty bland and this is coming from a person who doesn't like extremely spicy food. The restaurant was pretty expensive for their quality of food . I have had better Indian food at 9 dollar buffets. My suggestion would to avoid this place.
Awesome ambience, very efficient wait staff. The food left a lot to be desired though. Bland and tasteless although it could just be out palates that are used to spicier food. Overall a decent experience but I probably won't go back.
One of the more exotic places to eat indian food .. try the non-standard menu items and you will not feel let down !:)
Food was pretty good and did better than my expectation of other Indian restaurants I had visited in the past month. Really surprised how quite it was for how good the food is. Definitely worth mentioning and recommending to those who visit Bethesda.
I always stop by grabbing some food in here. I enjoy the prompt customer service and well prepared dishes. Keep it up.
An elegant restaurant with dishes from various regions of India.
This place is just outstanding. I have eaten at so many top shelf Indian restaurants and the food quality here is incredible. The Bhori Murghi is just wow. This is my third time here and I will be back
An array of dishes coming from North, South, East and West India. They are willing to adjust a dish if you wish and are very patient and accomodating yo the customer.
Delicious!
We really liked the food. Ordered samosa chat and fritters for starters and they were delicious. For main course we ordered kadai paneer and palak paneer with kulchas and naans. All of them tasted great. Kadai paneer was not on the menu but the bearer informed us when we were looking for paneer options. If you can update the menu it will be helpful for others.
absolutely delicioso
Excellent food with a variety of options. I highly recommend it
Great food, and a generous, affordable lunch. They handle large groups well.
The atmosphere was elegant and the lunch menu was reasonably priced. Most of the selections were under $10. I had the vegetable korma and my spouse has the shrimp curry. The chai tea was smooth and delicious. I wished we lived closer and we could visit more often.
Love this place
The food was pretty good. The curry seafood was nice and spicy and the deserts were interesting. I couldn't say I've had anything that tasted like like before, but it was good.
For the price its ok.
It was very nice restaurant! Quiet, artistic, and good lights. The food were excellent, pretty good portions, and very friendly servers! I had very good time with my husband for date night
Food is good, the lamb vindaloo was too spicy though
Don't let the hipster neighborhood discourage you; this is the best Indian restaurant in the area.
Good food- good decor
Don't ask me why this place doesn't have five stars. I found it delicious! These guys not only have good food, they also have food from all regions of India- North, South, East, and West! If you don't think that matters, let me tell you something- the cuisines of India vary widely from region to region, as do languages, ethnicities, etc. Plenty of options for both carnivores and herbivores, with excellent sense of style and decor. Sure, its a bit pricey, but on the whole worth it! Only the Bombay Grill in St. Petersburg Florida comes close.
The food is delicious here. I love Indian food and this place is one of our favorites. The service is outstanding as well. There are plenty of both vegan and meat dishes. The rice comes beautifully on the plate, with cashews, cilantro or dried fruit on top...it is definitely a step up!!
Delicious authentic Indian food. Highly recommend! I love that their food tastes fresh and unlike most Indian restaurants it isnt too oily or salty. The inside of the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous with antique Indian decor. I highly recommend the vegetarian or meat thali on the menu. You get a little bit of i beleive 6 or 7 menu items so it is similar to getting a buffet. I buy it for carryout a lot and it makes 3 to 4 meals for me. Give it a try you will be glad!
Good food, good environment, great service.
Great Indian food. The showcase of food from different regions is really fun and unique. I enjoy the subtle differences.
Good ambience and usual Indian food
If you've had good Indian food, you won't be impressed. I've had better naan at mall food courts, and the rice had almost no flavor. The raita had an odd, almost whipped cream consistency. The saag was marginal. The meat dishes were so-so. For the price, not a good value. Probably won't go back.
The food was as good as any Indian that I have had. Great selection and I loved that the menu was arranged according to area of India that the food originated.
Excellent experience !
Beautiful ambience. Vegetarian Thali was average but Non vegetarian Thali was good. Prices are On the higher side. One time visit for me as there are better places with good food and reasonable pricing in the DMV area.
Excellent service, great tasting food and a beautiful restaurant
Nice idea to offer various Indian cuisines under one roof but execution needs more work.
We went to eat lunch on Sunday as we heard good things about this restaurant but to our surprise food was tasteless and quantity was too less for the price one has to pay for maharaja brunch. Paneer that we had was so tasteless and filled with sugar. other things like dal makhani were served in sauce size container. Naan was dry and no butter on it. Our waiter was rushing us to get out of the restaurant. Although there were hardly anyone in the restaurant. We are surprised they r still in business with such pathetic food and service. Very disappointing.
Delicious goat and lamb dishes, naan was amazing, somosa was excellent. Would come back.
Great food. Nice atmosphere.
One of the very good places I have visited. The place is not that big and you might want to go early during peak times. The ambiance is very nice, with a Rajasthan kind of feel to it. When I visited the place it was packed even though the service was good and timely. But the staff could do better with some informed suggestion on the dishes for first timers like me. Finally, the most important thing, food was really good, didn't mind paying the extra bit of cash. Also the quantity is quite handful, between three healthy eaters, two subzi's and two breads (varied between naan's and stuffed cheese naan's) for each and three starters proved plentiful.
We love this restaurant. Extremely refined atmosphere. Excellent food drawing from several of the distinctive regional cuisines of India and grouped accordingly. The chef has always been very accommodating to any special requests.
great food, great service, great atmosphere equals wonderful experience!
Was there for lunch today. What I ordered was just ok.
Really good food but under average service.
I don't understand why this doesn't get more reviews and accolades. Hands down the best of Indian cuisine. My favorite Indian restaurant and a fantastic vegetarian offering.
Great sometimes then fair others
The food was okay but was not worth the hefty price tag.
Very good food and service. Selection is excellent Tandoori chicken, garlic naan, and shrimp with curry and coconut sauce was terrific highly recommend.
Exquisite flavors. Nice service. 5 stars.
Lunch special (lamb) Quick service
The Chicken Tikka Masala and naan were amazing!
OMG... Really Nice
The enviroment is cosy and well decorated. But the food wasn't that exceptional, mild flAvor and garlic nan could hardly feel the garlic
Food was was really great, portions were decent and great atmosphere.
Worst food ever.. papad is uncooked and stale..india palace is the best restaurant
Dumbed down Indian food that's essentially flavorless and bland. Samosas were good, but everything else was in tiny portions of bland slop that barely resembled the region of India from whence it came. Service was good, but doesn't make for a meal.
My favorite local Indian restaurant. The menu is divided into sections for each of India's major cuisines. You must get the Samosas. Mulligatawney soup is also a favorite. Most dishes are good to excellent including the various fish and lentil dishes. Ambiance is classy but not too stiff.
Good food and good ambience
I always get the palak (saag) paneer. It's fantastic here. Always have them bring the spice plate and garlic naan. Today had the Seekh kabob and the Fish Konkan Curry. Was very glad to have chosen both of those and would go back for everything I mentioned above, but the truth is that I haven't had anything here yet that I wouldn't eat. It's easily the best Indian cuisine in Bethesda
Great Indian Food, great service and wonderful atmosphere... I think it is likely the best Indian food in Maryland
Spice Xing, another restaurant from the same group is far better..I was amazed how can two restaurants from same group differ that much..
I go there fairly often. Excelent Indian cuisine. Almost top level. More refined that Hande. Service is ok, but not yet great. Waiters are a bit brisk and stressed. Not for a calm dinner or lunch atmosphere, but still OK for a nice dinner.
It was fine..
Excellent food and service. Substantial portions. Every dish is special.
Great Indian food. Especially desserts! Yummy. A bit pricy, though.
Clean, courteous staff
Excellent! Delicious cuisine and attentive staff. Try the Paneer Makhanee (sp?) ... it's possibly the best I've ever had! [usually no wait for lunch, but Saturday nights require a reservation.
Service was good. But the Paneer Anjeer Kofta was very sweet and Bhaigan Mirch ka Salan was very bland.I hope they incorporate some authentic Indian flavors in these dishes, instead of making it sweet and tasteless.
The best
Good food, good quality and reasonable portions. Friendly staff and fairly quick service, was there in a group of four on a Thursday night, restaurant was about half full so we were seated quickly. Will return again when in the area and hungry for Indian fare.
Food tasted good. Alcohol was stupendously expensive. Staff was all right. Clean facilities. If I did not have a Groupon, probably not worth it as the prices are sky high. Ambience though was good. The decor is authentic and tasteful.
Hadn't been here in a long time but will be back. It's a notch up from typical Indian, with four regional cuisines plus tandoor. Food was delicious, lots of variety, many veg choices. Prices are quite reasonable for Bethesda. Note latest reservation is 7:30.;
We.love the food- the make my husband's favorite chicken korma!
The decor was nice and interesting but the butter chicken was undercooked 2 times in a row and tasted horrible therefore I do not recommend it because of the reasons above
Delicious flavorful ethnic food. Service was awesome too.
My husband and I were walking by and saw this place, it was dinner time and we had an amazing meal. Simply amazing.
Got take-out here. Excellent Tikka Makhani and Goat curry. Excellent service. Will definitely be coming back.
Good quality Indian food in a pretty indoor environment. Staff was friendly and helpful. Prices are slightly high for the food, but may be reasonable for Bethesda.
Excellent food. Great service. Blend of cuisine from all the regions in India. Wine list is short but that's not a huge deal. Recommend trying kathal masala (jackfruit curry).
Food and service were great. Was packed on a week night.
Lovely dining room. Interesting menu. Kind staff.
Amazing food, wonderful staff, best Indian in the DC region!!
Good
Too Americanised for my liking. Goan fish curry was disaster. Saving grace rice kheer.
Our Regular indian spot. A little over price.
Loved this place. We have been to many, many Indian places and now the cuisine very well. This place was not disappointing.
I went there yesterday(6-15-19) and felt that I was being rushed through my dinner when I came to have a nice relaxing dinner. Food was semi warm and the rice was dry, use to be a good restaurant...quality of this restaurant is going down, very disappointed.
This was suggested to us by some Indian friends. We have been dining there ever since. Wonderful ambiance, and food.
Among the best Indian food we've had, with many vegan options.
Great food and great service!
Good food
Exquisite fine Indian dining i absolutely love their Aloo gobi and their mango lassi.
Fantastic food. Royal service and food. Really glad we came here.
Best ambience and service. Loved the place.
I went here today with my wife and was blown away by the Salli Boli Jardaloo (lamb stew with apricot). This is the kind of food I'm into... flavors you that aren't easily come by. We are returning. 10/10 overall.
Overpriced low quality food. If you are seeking an authentic Indian taste, this is NOT the place for you. The server was extremely annoying to top it all, kept rushing us rudely to order the food. When he did come with our food, he dropped the plates with a thud carelessly.
Amazing, love the vegetarian platter
Very tasty. The chef's sampler was delicious.
Left after waiting over 15 minutes at table.
Excellent food. A lot of choices from different parts of India not usually offered by other restaurants. Good service & delicious food. Will definitely go back. Highly recommended !!!
We happened to order a takeout for Dal Makhani (Mah ki daal) with one Naan and one whole wheat Indian bread (tandoori roti). When we opened stuff to eat at home, we found out: 1. The “Tandoori Roti” looked ABSOLUTELY horrible. It’s color was so weird that I had never seen before in my entire life. The Naan was clearly not freshly made but taken out of a pack they sell in stores. 2. Dal Makhani (Mah Ki Daal): first of all, the lentils were not fully cooked and second it had no flavor. They have made a mockery of daal makhani! This was the first ever Indian food I have ever had from anywhere in the US.
Food not good
Nice restaurant but little bit costly but worth it
Awful! Tikka Masala for $20 and they bring it in the most tiny container. The price & the portion doesn't match at all. I can't believe this rip off!! They don't even serve 50% of what other restaurants serve you pay $20 and you're still starving! Wow!
